Beginner needs help running internet from Airport to Airport.

My fathers laptop has the internet running through ethernet connection. i want to be able to the internet to run through the airport card to my apple mac upstairs which has airport card too.
Now ive set up a serve and both computers are reconizing each other, on the internet connect it says computer to computer. When i check the internet status the airport card on my fathers mac gives a green signal but the computer upstairs has a yellow signal. i cant seem to share the internet connection. what am i doing wrong?.

It sounds like you need to either disable the firewall on your father's Mac or open port 443 on the firewall on the AirPort side. A tool like WaterRoof might make it easier.
The longer you use this setup the more of these issues you will discover. That is why I recommend that you get an inexpensive wireless router and eliminate all of these issues.

I am trying to find a way to get my menu bar working. Little info, I am a beginner in Flash just learned the essential DVD from Adobe.
My menu bar has the following:
(About Us) (Services) (Quality) (Projects) (Contact Us)
Each page will have a motion shape tween and slide the page down.
I have type in this actions :

This actions only works when I click to the next labels but doesn't work when I want to click back to the previous labels. For example, if I click onto (About Us) to (Services) and (Services) to (Quality) and (Quality) to Projects and (Projects) to (Contact Us)... it all works. If I then click from (Contact Us) back to (Projects) or even any previous buttons... it does NOT work??
Anyone? Please help!

Hi,
check the Capitalization date in Asst Master for perticular month from which you want to run the Deprecation, by this you need not block anything or else run the dep for that perticuar Asst by changing to unplaaned Posting run in AFAB.

I need help removing UAC from itunes so it will not allow me to open itunes. Everything I have read from other comments that you shouldn't turn off your user account control. I just to be able to open itunes. Can anyone help me with this problem?? Greg, ogrady612@yahoo,com

I had this problem too but you do not need UAC to be turned on.
Click on start and search for 'uac' in the search box at the bottom and click on 'Change User Account Control Settings' when it comes up. Move the slider to the bottom when the window appears and save the changes and your done!
It's worked for me and my uac has been off for months without causing me any problems!

I need help coping project from one computer to another. I loaded all video on computer 1, copied events and project folder to computer 2. I was told I only needed to copy the project folder back to computer 1 since the events folder is already there. I copied project folder back to computer 1 but the files wont open. I dont have computer 2 available.

No that's not the way to do it - iMovie gets confused and in some cases the problems might be un-repairable.
You've got several problems
• iMovie'08 - CAN NOT MOVE PROJCTS - You NEED iMovie'09 or iMovie'11 - I see no other working solution
• Never MOVE or alter any folder named
iMovie Projects - or -
iMovie Events
on DeskTop/Finder - This might be very harmful
• Moving (Projects) and Events - HAS TO be done within the iMovie Application.
You've got an Evets window and here You can view Your Events in two ways - Yearly - or - Yearly per Hard disk
Here You can move within this "window" to another location
• Projects - NO they do not contain Your full movie - only a document on howto use the material in Event folder
and there might be worse if You added Photos from iPhoto and Audio from iTunes/Garageband - then You have
to get this over to the second Mac too, to be able to continue editing.
So to move Your projects to another Mac You need
• iMovie'09 or 11
• an external hard disk -
MUST BE Mac OS Extended formatted - as UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange will not work for VIDEO
Should be a FireWire one - as UBS/UBS2 performs badly when used for video
• Then move/copy over within Project resp Events window in iMovie Application
Hopefully I've been not to confusing or badly structured to be followed.

In order to run midlet from another midlet you may use push registry. Go through the API of that I am not sure but as far as I know push registry is the only solution to that

Packagemaker: need to run applescript from postflight script

Does anybody makes packages using Packagemaker? I need to run applescript from postflight shell script. Generally, when we need to run applescript or any application from shell script we write:

open /Path/to/applscrpt.app
But what to do if all scripts (shell, app's) placed in MyPackage.pkg/Contents/Resources? What path I need to specify? This way:
#!/bin/sh
open ./Contents/Resources/applscrpt.app
doesn't work...

The $1 argument that gets passed to your postflight script by the Installer should contain the full path to the package that's currently being installed. So something like this should work...
#!/bin/sh
open "$1/Contents/Resources/applscrpt.app"

Need help sharing internet connection between pc and mac using airport

Hello
I have a PC with an internal modem that connects to the internet via 3g+. it's got wi-fi as my macbook.
i want to share the internet connection of the pc via wifi (using what is called an "ad hoc" connection ( a pc to pc network)) so that the mac can connect to the pc (via wifi) and use its internet connection.
i've already tried a bunch of things but they don't work, can someone help me or tell me where i can find a GOOD guide to do this? (i've already looked around but i haven't found anything that works)

Hi. I'm not sure if this helps, but I just found a nice way to do it the other ways around (share the internet from your mac with your pc).

Specifically, step 4 and 6 are crucial!:
1. In Mac OS X, enable Internet Sharing to computers using Airport
2. In AirPort Options, select 128-bit WEP encryption and enter a 13-character password
3. In Windows, add a new wireless network
4. Enter the SSID and select WEP encryption with Shared Network Authentication (not Open)
5. Uncheck “The key is provided automatically” and enter the 13-character password
6. In the Authentication tab, be sure that “Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication” is unchecked
The main idea is that MAC-WEP and PC-WEP are not quite the same, so this tweak makes them line up. Perhaps you can do it the other way around from PC to MAC by sort of reversing the idea?

I need to run internet explorer how do i begin?

i have been fooling around trying to get this military website to work properly with no luck. after contact the help line for the website they told me it is only compatible with internet explorer. researching boot camp i purchased an external hardrive to partition for windows under the impression that that was one of the reasons why. i do not have a windows disk and i need to run IE. i tryed masking safari in the develop toolbar but IE isnt highlighted therefore i cant attemp that way. please help....

I don't know if this still works with the new version if Safari but it's worth a try.
Launch Safari. From the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari. From the drop down menu click Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the Safari menu bar again, click Develop > User Agent
Try IE 7, 8, or 9.

Need u r help in migration from layer2 switched network to layer3.
here is the setup there are 9 sites connected with a 10gig backbone in a ring.each site has a 6513 but at the data centre site we having two 6513.we are having a combination of voice and data vlans.at present all the sites are connected with layer2 trunks.all the trunks are teminated at the core ie datacentre site.so how should i procedd and what are the advantages of it ie migration.

For this migration you first need to assign IP addresses to your connections between switches. This could be /30 (or /31, if supported) subnets. You should also consider running some dynamic routing protocol such as OSPF between switches.

Ok, computer dummy here needing help with airport express. We were given airport express last night from a friend who recently purchased a newer gadget. He told us we would need to come here to download the operating system. I see lots of links to updates but no links for someone like me who has never had anything like this on my computer before. The AirPort Express Base Station (AX) doesn't have an "operating system" per se, but it does have built-in firmware which pretty much is the same thing. In addition, in order to administer the AX, you will need the AirPort Admin Utility for your Windows PC.
