Beginner question regarding Events

Hello, I`m just starting developing Xlets with the org.havi & javaTv packages. As I don`t have an DVB interoperable device I test them with the XletView-emulator. Guess like most people I started to create a simple scene including 2 HTextButtons. Now my question is what causes the sending of an HActionEvent ? If I press the arrow-buttons or the ok-button of the XletViewer`s remotecontroll there are sent KeyEvents only ?
Thanks for any help,
oliver

Hi Oliver!
The remotecontrol fires KeyEvents and UserEvents. In the latest release of XleTView HTextButton is not yet implemented, so it won't work using it. I'm working on it and will probably include it in the next release. I know it would be nice to know what's implemented and not before you go crazy on trying to do something. I will try to keep an updated list, there is a list here http://xletview.sourceforge.net/implemented.html but it's far from complete. Having a tool that automatically extract the status of the implementation from source code comments would be preferrable, unfortunately I'm split between priorities so I haven't been able to make it yet. If someone know of a good tool for this please tell me, I'm finding it hard to believe that a tool like that doesn't exist already.

  • Beginner question regarding 32-bit mixing and mixdown workflow

    Hello
I have a beginner question regarding 32-bit mixing and mixdown.
If I edit some 16Bit, 44.1kHz Stereo WAV Files and put them into multi-track view to do crossfades, how should I do the mixdown?
Audition shows me in multi-track view, that it is doing 32-Bit mixing.
Can I just mixdown to 16Bit, 44.1kHz Stereo without any dithering (as the files are 16Bit, 44.1kHz Stereo to begin with), or will I lose quality that way?
I will be performing a normalization to 96% to the mixdown and then split to tracks in Audition, as in the end I want to to have an audio CD.
I guess I could mixdown to 32Bit, then normalize and in the end save back to 16Bit, 44.1kHz Stereo WAV (with dithering, I suppose?), but I want to avoid any unnecessary converting steps.
    Greetings

Any time you do any processing on a 16bit file in 16 bit only it will degrade the audio slightly due to rounding of the calculations. Working in 32 bit floating point (Audition's default) takes account of all bits generated due to processing.
So it is always best to work in 32 bit, even if your originals were 16, all the way through until the last stage of saving the files for CD burning. Any losses due to conversion will be insignificant against those due to working 16 bit.

  • UIX-XML BC4J Question regarding event handling

How can I use/access Application Module, defined in UIX-XML page (using <bc4j:registryDef>), in my event handler method ???

Sorry for the confusion. I figured out what you were asking.
    The right way is this.
First, in your UIX XML page, declare your handler like this:
    <event name="%myEvent%" >
    <bc4j:findRootAppModule name="%ModuleName%" >
    <method class="%eventclass%" method="%eventmethod%" />
    </bc4j:findRootAppModule>
    </event>
the strings in the % have to be replaced with your own particular names. %ModuleName% should be the same as the name of the module in the registry.
Then in the event handler %eventclass%.%eventmethod% you can use this to find the Application Module:
    oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule mymodule
    = oracle.cabo.data.servlet.bind.ServletBindingUtils.getApplicationModule(context);
"context" is passed in to your event handler as a BajaContext. ServletBindingUtils has several other methods for getting BC4J stuff, you should look at its definition.

  • Beginner question regarding switch statements with arrays....

Doing a little project for my beginner's object oriented programming course. I've written the following code, but the switch statement won't recognize my array values....I'm required to use a switch statement in my program, which will count various character types in an external file....any insight is appreciated.

I was trying to do it this way rather than "case 'A':
    case 'B':
case 'Z:" for each type of 'symbol'.
Unfortunately, the switch statement is required or this would be easier with arrays and for loops...I'm not sure if my code is even possible. Thanks in advance =)

For sure it is the most straightforward way, but my curiosity is getting the better of me....I will most likely submit the program with the longer (value-by-value) switch method, as I haven't found anyone who can tell me how to properly reference an array value in a 'case'.Well, you can do this (basically):
    switch(some_array[some_index]) {
        case 'a':  blahblah
        case 'z':  blahblah
}What you can't do is this:
    switch(some_scalar_value) {
      case a_whole_array:  blahblah
      case a_whole_another_array: blahblah
}Because the latter isn't what "case" means.
If you want to do something like the latter, use if/else statements. Here's a dirty little industry secret: people seldom use switch/case. if/else is a lot more common.
Actually that dirty little secret isn't really particular dirty or particularly secret. It is, however, little.
I just recall a suggestion to use arrays for any group that is more than 10 values in size;Well...sort of...
You should use the expression of data that's appropriate for what the data is. If it's a collection of data of the same kind and an ordering, then an array or a java.util.List makes sense. If it's data that is of the same kind but no ordering and no duplicates are allowed, use a java.util.Set. (Etc. on this front.) If it's a collection of un-alike data, but which belongs in associated groups (e.g., a user's name, age, height, and whether s/he's married) then you should create a class that represents that logical grouping. Etc. If you have more than 10 individual data that can't be grouped or collected somehow, then chances are you need to rethink what's happening.
so I wanted to see if an array could be employed for comparisons with the 'switch' statement. The program is simple enough, I'm just trying to flex my problem-solving muscle in different ways. :)
thanks for replying, hope I can get a definite "yes, it can be done this way" or "no it can't" if there's anyone out there who knows.....The problem is that your example is contrived. So you can do a variety of things that fit into the contrivance, but they'd be weird things.
In practice, you'd want to use the character classification methods in Character, if you wanted to characterize a bunch of characters. Or maybe a regular expression. There's no need to keep an array of characters to match against if you want to determine whether a particular character is upper case. In fact, that's the wrong way of doing things, because Character.isUpperCase is more likely to tell whether any character (not just stuff that's also an element of ASCII) qualifies as upper case.

  • Question regarding event structure

I made a vi that controls a stepper motor with controls such as relative angle, maximum frequency, and acceleration. I use an event structure to update the values after new ones are entered by the user. However, recently I was given the task of integrating this with a larger vi that controlled other parts for an experiment (I will refer to this as the motor control vi).
Would event structures in both vi's be necessary? If I want to have the controls and update button in the motor control vi, does this mean that the event structure should be completely eliminated from the stepper motor vi? I was advised to use local variables to store the values for relative angle, max freq, and acceleration and then pass all of it when the update button is triggered and creates an event. I have found this to be faulty. Would it be possible to have event structures in both vi's then?
Basically, now everything will be updated and passed from the main vi to a stepper motor vi that originally depended on an event structure. Does this require the event structure to be present in only one or both vi's? Thanks.

Hey, sorry for not including it before, I'll try my best to explain all the parts because I didn't want to overcomplicate things.
For the Stepper Motor vi, I have none of the DAQ drivers on my laptop at home so I excluded it in the file attached and simply put a text box in there place. The program starts after the run button is pressed, and then the acceleration, f max, and relative angle is entered. Afterwards, pressing update displays the appropriate waveform graph. Pressing "next task" (depending on the state of the use task button) will allow the user to input other values. The use task button simply indicates whether anything will be passed to the drivers or not.
The main Motor Control vi was done by another person. For my part (all on the right side), acceleration could be set to 3 different speeds and pressing the button triggers the event that sets a certain value to the local variable acceleration. When the update button is pressed on this vi, the new values for max speed, angle, and acceleration are sent to the Motor Client vi. The state of the run, stop, use task, and next task are also passed, and my current problem is how do I use the update button in this vi? Would passing its value create an event in the stepper motor vi? Or would it be much better to just send the controls without placing them in an event structure?

  • Beginner Question: SA520 Admin access through WAN port

    Dear all,
I've a beginner question regarding my brand new SA520: How can I configure the box so that I'm able to access the admin GUI not only through the LAN ports but also from the WAN ports?
I tried already to allow inbound traffic to the firewall's internal IP address (not sure if done right, so) and granted the admin user access profile from WAN and LAN: I can access the box from the LAN but not from the WAN. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Eric
PS: Yupp, I know that it's not a good idea to expose a FW admin GUI to the WAN - but this is only a lab environment

    Go to Administration -> Users.
click on the 'Edit User Policies' 'Login' button.  It's there you can enable WAN access.

  • Question Regarding MIDI and Sample Accuracy

    Hi,
I have 2 questions regarding MIDI.
    1. MIDI is moved by ticks. In the arrange window however, you can move a region by samples. When doing this, you can move within values of the ticks (which you can see on your position box that pops up) Now, will this MIDI note actually be played back at that specific sample point, or will it round the event to the closest tick? (example, if I have a MIDI note directly on 1.1.1.1, and I move the REGION in the arrange... will that MIDI note now fall on the sample that I have moved the region to, or will it be rounded to the closest tick?)
    2. When making a midi template from an audio region, will the MIDI information land exactly on the sample of the transient, or will it be rounded to the closest tick?
I've looked through the manual, and couldn't find any specific answer to these questions.
    Thanks!
Message was edited by: Matthew Usnick

Ok, I've done some experimenting, and here are my results.
I believe those numbers ARE samples. I came to this conclusion by counting (for some reason it starts on 11) and cutting a region to be 33 samples long (so, minus 11, is 22 actual samples). I then went to the Audio Bin window, and chose to view region length as samples. And there it said it: 22 samples. So, you can in fact move MIDI regions by samples!
Second, I wanted to see if the MIDI notes in the region itself would be quantized to the nearest tick. I cut a piece of audio, so it had a 1 sample attack (zoomed in asa far as I could in the sample editor, selected the smallest portion, and faded in, and made the start point, the region start position). I saved the region as a new audio file, and loaded it up in the exs sampler.
I then made a MIDI region, with and triggered the sample on beat 1 (quantized, on the money). I then went into the arrange window, made a fixed cycle length, and bounced the audio. I then moved the MIDI region by one sample to the right. I did this 22 times (which is the number of samples in a tick, at 120, apparently). After bouncing all of these (cycle position remained fixed, only the MIDI region was moving) I imported all the audio into the arrange on new tracks, and YES!!! The sample start was cascaded by a sample each time!
    SO.
Not only can you move MIDI regions by sample, but the positions are NOT quantized to Logics ticks!
This is very good news, and glad I worked this out!
(if anyone thinks this sounds wrong, please correct me, but I'm pretty sure I proved it, in my test)

  • I have some questions regarding setting up a software RAID 0 on a Mac Pro

I have some questions regarding setting up a software RAID 0 on a Mac pro (early 2009).
These questions might seem stupid to many of you, but, as my last, in fact my one and only, computer before the Mac Pro was a IICX/4/80 running System 7.5, I am a complete novice regarding this particular matter.
A few days ago I installed a WD3000HLFS VelociRaptor 300GB in bay 1, and moved the original 640GB HD to bay 2. I now have 2 bootable internal drives, and currently I am using the VR300 as my startup disk. Instead of cloning from the original drive, I have reinstalled the Mac OS, and all my applications & software onto the VR300. Everything is backed up onto a WD SE II 2TB external drive, using Time Machine. The original 640GB has an eDrive partition, which was created some time ago using TechTool Pro 5.
The system will be used primarily for photo editing, digital imaging, and to produce colour prints up to A2 size. Some of the image files, from scanned imports of film negatives & transparencies, will be 40MB or larger. Next year I hope to buy a high resolution full frame digital SLR, which will also generate large files.
Currently I am using Apple's bundled iPhoto, Aperture 2, Photoshop Elements 8, Silverfast Ai, ColorMunki Photo, EZcolor and other applications/software. I will also be using Photoshop CS5, when it becomes available, and I will probably change over to Lightroom 3, which is currently in Beta, because I have had problems with Aperture, which, until recent upgrades (HD, RAM & graphics card) to my system, would not even load images for print. All I had was a blank preview page, and a constant, frozen "loading" message - the symbol underneath remained static, instead of revolving!
It is now possible to print images from within Aperture 2, but I am not happy with the colour fidelity, whereas it is possible to produce excellent, natural colour prints using its "minnow" sibling, iPhoto!
My intention is to buy another 3 VR300s to form a 4 drive Raid 0 array for optimum performance, and to store the original 640GB drive as an emergency bootable back-up. I would have ordered the additional VR300s already, but for the fact that there appears to have been a run on them, and currently they are out of stock at all, but the more expensive, UK resellers.
I should be most grateful to receive advice regarding the following questions:
    QUESTION 1:
I have had a look at the RAID setting up facility in Disk Utility and it states: "To create a RAID set, drag disks or partitions into the list below".
If I install another 3 VR300s, can I drag all 4 of them into the "list below" box, without any risk of losing everything I have already installed on the existing VR300?
Or would I have to reinstall the OS, applications and software again?
I mention this, because one of the applications, Personal accountz, has a label on its CD wallet stating that the Licence Key can only be used once, and I have already used it when I installed it on the existing VR300.
    QUESTION 2:
I understand that the failure of just one drive will result in all the data in a Raid 0 array being lost.
Does this mean that I would not be able to boot up from the 4 drive array in that scenario?
Even so, it would be worth the risk to gain the optimum performance provide by Raid 0 over the other RAID setup options, and, in addition to the SE II, I will probably back up all my image files onto a portable drive as an additional precaution.
    QUESTION 3:
Is it possible to create an eDrive partition, using TechTool Pro 5, on the VR300 in bay !?
Or would this not be of any use anyway, in the event of a single drive failure?
    QUESTION 4:
Would there be a significant increase in performance using a 4 x VR300 drive RAID 0 array, compared to only 2 or 3 drives?
    QUESTION 5:
If I used a 3 x VR300 RAID 0 array, and installed either a cloned VR300 or the original 640GB HD in bay 4, and I left the Startup Disk in System Preferences unlocked, would the system boot up automatically from the 4th. drive in the event of a single drive failure in the 3 drive RAID 0 array which had been selected for startup?
Apologies if these seem stupid questions, but I am trying to determine the best option without foregoing optimum performance.

    Well said.
    Steps to set up RAID
Setting up a RAID array in Mac OS X is part of the installation process. This procedure assumes that you have already installed Mac OS 10.1 and the hard drive subsystem (two hard drives and a PCI controller card, for example) that RAID will be implemented on. Follow these steps:
    1. Open Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities).
    2. When the disks appear in the pane on the left, select the disks you wish to be in the array and drag them to the disk panel.
    3. Choose Stripe or Mirror from the RAID Scheme pop-up menu.
    4. Name the RAID set.
    5. Choose a volume format. The size of the array will be automatically determined based on what you selected.
    6. Click Create.
Recovering from a hard drive failure on a mirrored array
    1. Open Disk Utility in (/Applications/Utilities).
    2. Click the RAID tab. If an issue has occurred, a dialog box will appear that describes it.
    3. If an issue with the disk is indicated, click Rebuild.
    4. If Rebuild does not work, shut down the computer and replace the damaged hard disk.
    5. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
    6. Drag the icon of the new disk on top of that of the removed disk.
    7. Click Rebuild.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2559
    Drive A + B = VOLUME ONE
    Drive C + D = VOLUME TWO
What you put on those volumes is of course up to you and easy to do.
A system really only needs to be backed up "as needed" like before you add or update or install anything.
/Users can be backed up hourly, daily, weekly schedule
    Media files as needed.
    Things that hurt performance:
    Page outs
Spotlight - disable this for boot drive and 'scratch'
SCRATCH: Temporary space; erased between projects and steps.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StandardRAIDlevels
(normally I'd link to Wikipedia but I can't load right now)
Disk drives are the slowest component, so tackling that has always made sense. Easy way to make a difference. More RAM only if it will be of value and used. Same with more/faster processors, or graphic card.

  • A Query regarding 'Events' published and 'Event' subscribed

I have a query regarding 'Events' and 'EventHandling' in Java Swing.
Swing in an EVENT based application whereby 'events' are generated
    by interacting with the components.
Eg: Clicking on a Button generates an 'ActionEvent' and every event
    generated has an associated 'EventListener'.
    Now,my question is:
a)When an event is generated,(let's say by clicking a button),
    an 'event' is published,right?
That means that there is an 'Event Publisher'.
In the above case, the Button is the 'Publisher' of the event, right?
    b) Who are the subscribers for the events generated?
Where do we specify the 'subscibers' to the events generated?(and once
the subscribers get the Event, the subscriber will call the methods
    of the event object)
    We just say
       addButton.addActionListener(new ButtonHandler);
       private class ButtonHandler implements ActionListener {
            public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
      In the above code :
    a) Who is the Event Publisher?
    b) Who is the Event Subscriber?
No offence meant for the question.

The 'event publisher' for the mouse click is the ToolKit implementation (translates the OS mouse event to a Java mouse event).
The 'event subscriber' for the mouse click on a button is typically a ButtonUI (you can add a mouse listener directly though).
The 'event publisher' for the action event is the ButtonModel (notified by the ButtonUI when the button is unpressed, etc).
The 'event subscriber' for the action event are the action listeners.

  • Beginner question: Can I apply one formula to all cells in a column?

    Hi,
I'm new to spreadsheets, so apologies for asking what is probably a very simple question.
I want to apply a formula that divides the values in one column (W) by values in another (AX) for a table containing 3000 rows, and outputs the result for each row into the appropriate cell in the new column I've created.
Numbers 09 'help' hasn't helped to this point.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Besides Numbers '09 Help there are two other useful resources available in the Help menu: the Numbers '09 User Guide and iWork Formulas and Functions Help.
For "Beginner questions," my first choice would be the User Guide. For the specific question you asked, a quick scan of the chapter on "Using Formulas and Functions" (pp 83-96) will provide some useful information. Start in the neighborhood of page 93.

  • 3 questions regarding duplicate script

    3 questions regarding duplicate script
Here is my script for copying folders from one Mac to another Mac via Ethernet:
(This is not meant as a backup, just to automatically distribute files to the other Mac.
For backup I'm using Time Machine.)
    cop2drop("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Desktop", "zome's Public Folder:Drop Box:")
    cop2drop("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents", "zome's Public Folder:Drop Box:")

    tell application "Finder"
duplicate every file of folder sourceFolder to folder destFolder
duplicate every folder of folder sourceFolder to folder destFolder
    end tell
    end cop2drop
    1. One problem I haven't sorted out yet: How can I modify this script so that
all source folders (incl. their files and sub-folders) get copied
as correspondent destination folders (same names) under the Drop Box?
(At the moment the files and sub-folder arrive directly in the Drop Box
and mix with the other destination files and sub-folders.)
    2. Everytime before a duplicate starts, I have to confirm this message:
"You can put items into "Drop Box", but you won't be able to see them. Do you want to continue?"
How can I avoid or override this message? (This script shall run in the night,

    3. A few minutes after the script starts running I get:
"AppleScript Error - Finder got an error: AppleEvent timed out."
    How can I stop this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello
In addition to what red_menace has said...
    1) I think you may still use System Events 'duplicate' command if you wish.
Something like SCRIPT1a below. (Handler is modified so that it requires only one parameter.)
*Note that the 'duplicate' command of Finder and System Events duplicates the source into the destination. E.g. A statement 'duplicate folder "A:B:C:" to folder "D:E:F:"' will result in the duplicated folder "D:E:F:C:".
    --SCRIPT1a
    cop2drop("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents")
    on cop2drop(sourceFolder)
set destFolder to "zome's Public Folder:Drop Box:"
    with timeout of 36000 seconds
    tell application "System Events"
duplicate folder sourceFolder to folder destFolder
    end tell
    end timeout
    end cop2drop
    --END OF SCRIPT1a
    2) I don't know the said error -8068 thrown by Finder. It's likely a Finder's private error code which is not listed in any of public headers. And if it is Finder thing, you may or may not see different error, which would be more helpful, when using System Events to copy things into Public Folder. Also you may create a normal folder, e.g. named 'Duplicate' in Public Folder and use it as desination.
    3) If you use rsync(1) and want to preserve extended attributes, resource forks and ACLs, you need to use -E option. So at least 'rsync -aE' would be required. And I rememeber the looong thread failed to tame rsync for your backup project...
    4) As for how to get POSIX path of file/folder in AppleScript, there're different ways.
Strictly speaking, POSIX path is a property of alias object. So the code to get POSIX path of a folder whose HFS path is 'Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents:' would be :
POSIX path of ("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents:" as alias)
POSIX path of ("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents" as alias)
    --> /Users/home/Documents/
The first one is the cleanest code because HFS path of directory is supposed to end with ":". The second one also works because 'as alias' coercion will detect whether the specified node is file or directory and return a proper alias object.
And as for the code :
set src to (sourceFolder as alias)'s POSIX Path's text 1 thru -2
It is to strip the trailing '/' from POSIX path of directory and get '/Users/home/Documents', for example. I do this because in shell commands, trailing '/' of directory path is not required and indeed if it's present, it makes certain command behave differently.
    E.g.
Provided /a/b/c and /d/e/f are both directory, cp /a/b/c /d/e/f will copy the source directory into the destination directory while cp /a/b/c/ /d/e/f will copy the contents of the source directory into the destination directory.
The rsync(1) behaves in the same manner as cp(1) regarding the trailing '/' of source directory.
The ditto(1) and cp(1) behave differently for the same arguments, i.e., ditto /a/b/c /d/e/f will copy the contents of the source directory into the destination directory.
    5) In case, here are revised versions of previous SCRIPT2 and SCRIPT3, which require only one parameter. It will also append any error output to file named 'crop2dropError.txt' on current user's desktop.
*These commands with the current options will preserve extended attributes, resource forks and ACLs when run under 10.5 or later.
    --SCRIPT2a - using cp(1)
    cop2drop("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents")
    on cop2drop(sourceFolder)
set destFolder to "zome's Public Folder:Drop Box:"
set src to (sourceFolder as alias)'s POSIX Path's text 1 thru -2
set dst to (destFolder as alias)'s POSIX Path's text 1 thru -2
set sh to "cp -pR " & quoted form of src & " " & quoted form of dst
    do shell script (sh & " 2>>~/Desktop/cop2dropError.txt")
    end cop2drop
    --END OF SCRIPT2a
    --SCRIPT3a - using ditto(1)
    cop2drop("Macintosh HD:Users:home:Documents")
    on cop2drop(sourceFolder)
set destFolder to "zome's Public Folder:Drop Box:"
set src to (sourceFolder as alias)'s POSIX Path's text 1 thru -2
set dst to (destFolder as alias)'s POSIX Path's text 1 thru -2
set sh to "src=" & quoted form of src & ";dst=" & quoted form of dst & ¬
    ";ditto "${src}" "${dst}/${src##*/}""
    do shell script (sh & " 2>>~/Desktop/cop2dropError.txt")
    end cop2drop
    --END OF SCRIPT3a
    Good luck,
    H

  • Question regarding homehub and Open reach router -...

    Hi all,
I had infinity installed earlier this month and am happy with it so far. I do have a few questions regarding the service and hardware though.
I run both my BT openreach router and BT Home hub from the same power socket. The problem is, if I turn the plug on so both the Homehub and Openreach Router start up at the same time, the home hub will never get an Internet connection from the router. To solve this I have to turn the BT home hub on first and leave it for a minute, then start the router up and it all works fine. I'm just curious if this is the norm or do I have some faulty hardware?
Secondly, I appreciate the estimated speed BT quote isn't always accurate, I was quoted 49mbits down but received 38mbits down - Which I was happy with. Recently though it has dropped to 30. I am worried this might continue to drop over time. and as of present I am 20mbits down on the estimate . For the record 30mbits is actually fine and probably more than I would ever need. If I could boost it some how though I would be interested to hear from you.
    Thanks, .

Just a clarification: the two boxes are the HomeHub (router, black) and the modem (white).  The HomeHub has its own power switch, the modem doesn't.
There is something wrong if the HomeHub needs to be turned on before the modem.  As others have said, in general best to leave the modem on all the time.  You should be able to connect them up in any order, or together.  (For example, I recently tripped the mains cutout, and when I restored power the modem and HomeHub went on together and everything was ok).
Check if the router can connect/disconnect from the broadband using the web interface.  Leaving the modem and HomeHub on all the time, go to http://192.168.1.254/ on a browser on a connected computer, and see whether the Connect/Disconnect button works.

  • Question regarding IWDTree and context Value Node naming

    Hi,
I have a question regarding the IWDTree / IWDTreeNodeType components.
I have a context looking like this:
    Context
      + ResponseNode
        + PersonNode (1..1)
          + PersonAddressNode                    (empty node, placeholder)
          | + AdresNode (0..n)
          + PersonChildNode                      (empty node, placeholder)
          | + PersonNode (0..n)
          |   + PersonAddressNode                (empty node, placeholder)
          |     + AddressNode (0..n)
          + PersonParentsNode                    (empty node, placeholder)
            + PersonNode (0..n)
              + PersonAddressNode                (empty node, placeholder)
                + AddressNode (0..n)
The context represents a person, a person's address, and a person's children and parents with their respective addresses.
As a result, on different branches, a PersonNode and AddressNode can appear.
And for some strange reason, all PersonNodes and AddressNodes link to the same ResponseNode.PersonNode.PersonParentsNode.PersonNode and ResponseNode.PersonNode.PersonParentsNode.PersonNode.PersonAddressNode.AddressNode respectively, irregardless of their branch...
Is it illegal to have multiple PersonNode and AddressNode node names, and should they be named uniquely?

Generally, node names need to be unique inside the context, attributes in different nodes can have same names. I wonder if the context structure you described will result in code without compile errors.
The WD Tree can only be used with recursive context nodes or with a hierarchy of non-singleton child nodes.
Can you give an example how your tree should look like at runtime?

  • Question regarding roaming and data usage

I am currently out of my main country of service, and as such I have a question regarding roaming and data usage.
I am told that the airplane mode is sufficient from keeping the phone off from roaming, but does this apply to any background data usage for applications and such?
If the phone is in airplane mode, are all use of the phone including wifi and application use through the wifi outside of all extra charges from roaming?

    Ann154 wrote:
If you are getting charged to use the wifi, then it is possible.  Otherwise no
Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free .   Verizon does not charge you (or indeed know about!) wifi usage, or any other usage that is not on their cellular network (such as using a foreign SIM for example in global phones)  So these charges, if any, will not show up on the verizon bill app.  Having it in airplane mode prevents all cellular data traffic so you should be fine

  • Question regarding MM and FI integration

    Hi Experts
I have a question regarding MM and FI integration
Is the transaction Key in OMJJ is same as OBYC transaction key?
If yes, then why canu2019t I see transaction Key BSX in Movement type 101?
    Thanks

No, they are not the same.  The movement type transaction (OMJJ) links the account key and account modifier to a specific movement types.  Transaction code (OBYC) contains the account assignments for all material document postings, whether they are movement type dependent or not.  Account key BSX is not movement type dependent.  Instead, BSX is dependent on the valuation class of the material, so it won't show in OMJJ.
    thanks,
