Beginner to SRM

Hi Guys,
I am new to SRM , my came from ABAP , MM and XI. I have completed certification in XI and worked in some SRM ( non SAP) to r/3 (MM) senarions on creating PO, PO confirmation and PO Change.
So, I feel like learning SRM . Anybody can help me in getting started with SRM.
I have SRM210 which I want to start with. Can any once advice what are the other thing I have to know to start with this.

Substring Operation in HTMLB

Hi Deva,
In order to locate all HTMLB syntax, you can use tag browser in SE80.
Follow path BSP Extensions --> Transportable --> htmlb...
This will list all the tags in HTMLB.
Then you can click on a particular tag and check out the attributes.
The syntax is

 attribute2 = "xyz"
 .....attributen = "pqr"

Approver could not see the active button 'Approve'.

Hi Gurus,
I am a beginner to SRM and EBP.
I have a problem to solve immediately.
In the purchase order approve screen, approver could not see the active approve button . It is grayouted in the screen. I have checked the roles for the approver , and found ok..
Please help me where to look for the problem and how to get activate the approve button..I will highly appreciate if any related documents can be sent to [email protected]

Adding new field

Hello,
I have to add 2 new fields into a table which has been creating with eewb.
I'm beginner on SRM.
So I tried to add this field into a structure, I had created a new group field, an event and change the tab page group. It didn't really works.
Do I have to use transaction eewb in order to add this new field in my existing extension ?

Hi Claude,
yes you have to restart the EEWB Wizard to complete existing extension with your 2 fields.
You can change directly the previously generated objects (table ZZBUT000XXX, structuress...), but you will miss some objects.
So EEWB is the cleanest and simplest way.
Restart the wizard on the needed extension, but don't create a new one. This will re-generate all objects.

As far as I know about ARIBA SRM it's for E procurement and reverse auction functionality.
But SAP SRM is basically enhancement of SAP mjaterials management. It offers diff business scenarios viz.
1. Self service procurement- self procurement of low cost items by employees reliving purchasers for more imp works.
2. Service procurement - Scenario specialized for services.
3. Plan driven procurement - scenario where external demands can be worked in EBP sourcing or PO/SA can be sent to suppliers and they can confirm.
4. Strategic Sourcing - New suppliers can be registered. Bidding can be done with suppliers. Live auction is possible.
5. Catalog content management - Suppliers catalogs can be uploaded and managed. Supplier's sites can be accessed for procurement.
6. Spend analysis - BIW can be integrated with SRM for very powerful reporting.
Also, there are newer submodules coming viz. MDM, PLM, C folders in SAP SRM
But you need to know about the SAP SRM infrastructure scenarios and SAP technical objects how they work.
Functionality wise both may be same but when it come to the customization you need to know about the technical things in SAP SRM.
Ariba is core SRM (E-Procurement and E Sourcing) vendor, and they are in top 2 or 3 in SRM Market. Ariba's spend anlysis capability is its major strength, where as SAP SRM, integration is its major strength.

Problem in Update PO Function module in SRM

I am updating the existing PO with the Function Module 'bbp_po_app_update_po' in SRM system.When i execute this in my program , I am not getting any errors.
After this function module call, I committed using 'Commit work and wait'. But my records are not updated. This function module Contains ''BBP_PD_PO_UPDATE''

Triggering SRM workflow from a web-based form (HTML)

I am a beginner in SAP, please bear with me.
I have created an online data entry form using html to populate a table in a non-SAP database. I am able to call this form in SAP EP using URL iView.
I want some help on triggering an SRM workflow from this form.

I would like to explain the scenario:
1.The form would reside in the SAP Enterprise portal
2.When the form is completed and the "submit" button is clicked, I expect a workflow in SAP SRM to be triggered.
3.The workflow is a developed three-step approval workflow. It was developed using the Hierarchical Approval workflow wizard.
Questions:
1. How can the workflow be triggered when the submit button is clicked?
2. How can the data from the Form be integrated into the workflow and vice versa?

Passing data into SRM

We have a scenario where we are using the SRM business package in EP 6.0 and we have a requirement to pre-polupate a basic data field ( PO Type ) for the basic data screen in the Shop iView.
We want to send this data from the Portal , possibly using a webdynpro application.Has anyone done something like this before ? Any ideas ?
