1. I plan on getting a Time Capsule in the future. If i get a 40 gig ATV, will the added space on the time capsule act just like the space on the ATV? Can i download movies to rent or buy onto the Time Capsule?
2. I know you can now rent HD movies with ATV, but what about HD tv shows? I don't get sci-fi HD but i want to watch the new season of battlestar galactica in HD. If it's possible, how much is it per hd show?

I don't believe you will be able to use the space on a time capsule as addition space for an tv in the way you want. You may be able to use it to hold your itunes library for your mac but I'm not really certain of that either since it isn't actually out yet and the specs on the  site aren't specific enough.

I've heard no mention of renting tv shows in any format and as I understand it HD content won't actually be for sale. Also I'm not really up to speed on these sort of things, but isn't Battlestar Galactica around 20 years old, is it all that likely it was shot in a format that can be displayed as HD.

1. It's not so tricky. There are many cards with many OS types and derivatives on the market and the level of incompatibility is rather high. For the JavaCards - they are typically initialized with 3DES ECB keys that one have to know in order to retrieve context. So if you do not know this ....
2. Many tools are depending on standard PC/SC IF provided with every win system. So if your reader was configured to work well without your JC IDE or whatever you use - the chance you will have no problems is big.
3. Again, there are nice examples provided with Jcop tools ... although the article is also not bad. But it is much readings .... I always try to figure out what the code means ... and then do readings ...
4. Yep, Java is like must ... but u can figure this out ... it is named JavaCard ... ain't no coffe ...

Beginners question - making sense of form, item, pane & variable (with relation to where data is stored in the SQL database)

Hi Everyone,
I am new to writing reports (SQL code) for SAP, however I am aware that inside SAP Business One it is necessary to enable System Information (from the View menu) in order to see which tables (and related table attributes / column names) are related to various aspects of the various SAP 'modules' (e.g.: A/R Invoice).
Using an A/R Invoice as an example I can see at the row (or line) level that an item with the description of 'Opening Balance Transfer' is contained in the table INV1, within the attribute (or column) called Dscription.
However not every 'on screen object' shows a table / attribute. For example in the same A/R Invoice if I hover my mouse over the Balance Due field all I see is Form related information.
My question is 'How do I make sense of the Form, Item, Pane, Variable information?', with relation to where data is stored within the SQL database?
Links to online tutorials explaining how this feature of SAP Business One will be much appreciated, along with any personal advice regarding working with this information.
Any (and all) help will be greatly appreciated.

a. Form ---> Used in additional authorization creator
b. Item, column--->Useful in creating Formatted search queries (FMS)
c. Variable --> Some of the field values based on another values. ie. indirect values.
d. INV1---Table name
2. How to get variable?
As per your second attachment, to get balance due ,you need doc total field from OINV table. For example,
SELECT T0.[DocNum], T0.[DocTotal] FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.[DocNum] = 612004797

Exporting a table to an EPUB (a beginners question)

Epub beginner.
I trying to teach my self how to create an EPUB, I have watched many tutorials
from Adobe and beyond all very useful and educational.
I am using Indesign CS5.5
Question 1:
What is the best way to export a ‘table’ to an EPUB doc’ that has dingbats/bullets/ticks in columns,
when I create a EPUB the bullets/dingbats/ticks change to a font. Would it be better to make a ‘jpeg’
of the ‘table’ then import back into indesign via the Articles Panel?
Question 2:
As a side issue, Is there a way by just using the bullets command to have a single bullet with no text
so to use in a table instead of using Wingdings etc?

How about converting the table to a row of text frames grouped together and anchored to the main story?
Just a "wild" idea, I know. Would that better the situation? I mean not to be forced to render the table to pixels? That could be an ugly thing.
Or would be grouped text frames also be rendered to pixels by InDesign CS5.5's export to EPUB?
And about the bulleted paragraphs:
What, if we convert the bullets to live text?
Ok, we'll likely get a font rendering issue with a font that cannot be included or if included cannot be rendered on the device. Only the substitute of that font, whatever that subsituted font will be.
Or forget about the bullets formatted with text attributes and use vector shapes or anchored images in PNG format (PNG with transparency maybe)?

Beginners Questions about Multiple JPanels in JFrame and event handling

I am a newbie with SWING, and even a newerbie in Event Handling. So here goes.
I am writing a maze program. I am placing a maze JPanel (MazePanel) at the center of a JFrame, and a JPanel of buttons (ButtonPanel) on the SOUTH pane. I want the buttons to be able to re-randomize the maze, solve the maze, and also ouput statistics (for percolation theory purposes). I have the backbone all done already, I am just creating the GUI now. I am just figuring out EventHandlers and such through the tutorials, but I have a question. I am adding an ActionListener to the buttons which are on the ButtonPanel which are on JFrame (SOUTH) Panel. But who do I make the ActionListener--Basically the one doing the work when the button is pressed. Do I make the JFrame the ActionListener or the MazePanel the ActionListener. I need something which has access to the maze data (the backbone), and which can call the Maze.randomize() function. I'm trying to make a good design and not just slop too.
Also I was wondering if I do this
JButton.addActionListener(MazePanel), and lets say public MazePanel implments ActionListenerdoesn't adding this whole big object to another object (namely the button actionlistener) seem really inefficient? And how does something that is nested in a JPanel on JFrame x get information from something nested in another JPanel on a JFrame x.
Basically how is the Buttons going to talk to the maze when the maze is so far away?

I'm not an expert, but here's what I'd do....
You already have your business logic (the Maze classes), you said. I'm assuming you have some kind of public interface to this business logic. I would create a new class like "MazeGui" that extends JFrame, and then create the GUI using this class. Add buttons and panels as needed to get it to look the way you want. Then for each button that does a specific thing, add an anonymous ActionListener class to it and put whatever code you need inside the ActionListener that accesses the business logic classes and does what it needs to.
This is the idea, though my code is totally unchecked and won't compile:

This forum is just fine for any level of questions.
1) Your first question received an answer but you apparently couldn't follow it. Though using f8 wasn't mentioned, the only place you might use Ctrl-F8 in those instructions would be the first step, though there are a couple of ways to create a new mc. All of the steps are fairly clear to follow, so if you do not understand one of them, just ask (and be patient).

Beginners Question - Removing Complex Backgrounds

Hi all,
I am new to Photoshop and have just bought Elements 12, i apologise if this question is in the wrong place.
The company i work for often required images of our products to have the background removed and replaced with plain white, so the product is effectively floating in white.
I have followed various Youtube videos on how to remove backgrounds, but all of them seem to have chosen the most basic of images to edit.
The photos of our products (outdoor furniture) are in real environments such as highstreets and pavements etc. When i use the quick select tool or the lasso tool i just can't seem to get a nice straight edge around the actual product. The tools seem to be touch and go and one section seems to be okay where another seems to be out of place and 'zig-zaggy'. I often either cut into the product so it looks like someone has taken a bite out of it or i go too far out of the edge of the product, it just looks like a wave up the side of the product, i just can't seem to get a nice smooth finish all round the product. Sometimes if there are lamposts and other items in the way it wants to go around them rather than chop it off the image.
Absolutely anybody who can point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

No pen tool in Elements. It would help if you posted an image but some things to consider:
Sometimes it's easier to select the area you want to get rid of and then invert the selection.
No one selection tool is likely to be adequate for a complex image so expect to change tools regularly.
Use tools like magic wand, quick selection or lasso to select the bulk of the selection.
Use the selection brush to add/subtract edge areas. The [ and ] keys are your friend here as they rapidly decrease / increase the brush size.
Use the Select menu options for fine adjustments - refine edge, feather, grow / contract.
There is the hidden 'Quick Mask' mode accessible, when (a) you have a selection, and (b) create a layer mask (background must not be locked, by pressing the \ key. You can then paint in and out your selection.
While getting your selection made, save it regularly (Select> Save Selection) to avoid losing work if you inadvertently deselect!

Search Google for "AS# slideshow tutorial" where you substitute 2 or 3 for the # depending on which version of actionscript you plan to use. IF you're not experienced with using actionscript, then you may want to just search using Flash instead of AS#

Absolute beginners question

I have just started using Acrobat to create forms and have run in to a problem. I have created a form for use by a service individual to use as a work order. When the form is completed (electronically) it has to be signed and emailed to two separate office locations. I am using a Topaz signature pad and a netbook for the purpose. The problem starts when the signature is captured and locks the pdf. I need a way to automatically clear the pdf for the next service call input, another option would be to somehow open a copy of the original blank pdf for each use. I have to keep the steps involved to a minimum as the people using it will not be technically minded. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Sorry for such a basic question.

How about adding a button - select and place button then
Select the Select Object arrow and double click the button and under the actions tab do the following;
Select Trigger: use default
Select Action : Choose: Open a File
Click Add
It will ask for a file choose the blank form you want and select Existing Window, it will open the blank form and away you go.
You could add that to the sequence you probably already have going with the emailing and locking.

From what I have read it is possible to include any evaluator normally found in Java within a jsp expression.
e.g.: <%= 2 + 8 %>
I figure that this should evaluate to 10.
If I am correct then I also guess that the result 10 is actually converted to a string and then written to the output (web page presumably).
Now if I am correct so far is it viable to do the following?
e.g.: <%= 2 + beanName.getBeanProperty() %>
And if the bean property happens to be an integer value of 8 then again 10 will be output onto the web page.
If anybody could let me know if I am on the right track or not it will be greatly appreciated.

since the output writer would likely have overloaded print methods for ints and other primatives. And it might further be optimized by the compiler to be just this:

Big picture/beginners question - Adobe Connect

(I must admit that I have very little experience with video conferencing.)
What I'm looking for is an off-the-shelf relatively low-cost videoconferencing package I can integrate into our own package.
We want to be able to open a copy of our own product, call up one or more other computers, record the whole thing, and save the recording to a relatively common format. We want our own interface to control the entire process, not a third party control or popup. The whole process must be controlled by the computer that starts up our application.
Actually I should also mention that this capability will most likely be needed in a web app, at least at first. It is possible we may want to do this with Windows apps later. All of our future application development will most likely be in Dot Net 4.0.
Can this be done with Adobe Connect?

Do I understand this correctly?. Adobe Connect itself is a server and the Adobe Connect Host Add-in is the 'chat window', a stand-alone web app?
If so, is it at least possible for another web app to call up a window with the Add-in and log it in, rather than doing it manually?

Let’s add some shades for the navigation menu foundation. Create a New Layer; send backwards, Ctrl+Click on the Shape Layer, fill selection with color (#86a6b5). Deselect and apply Gaussian Blur (1.8px), then Motion Blur (90deg, 41px). Now apply Gaussian Blur (1.8px) one more time. Set opacity 85%.
1. Send backwards... means make sure layer is below the previous one?
2. Ctrl+Click on the shape layer, fill with selection with color... So i have the new layer highlighted, i ctrl+click on the shape layer... Now what?

1. Yes.
2. Ctrl-clicking a layer causes a selection to be made from the grayscale levels in the layer you clicked on. I assume from the way it's written that the instructions want you to do an Edit - Fill on your new layer.
Certainly those instructions are written rather tersely, probably with experts in mind.

Beginners Question - cluster config

Hi,
Is it possible to configure three Sun E10000 nodes in a cluster so that the first 2 nodes will be in scalable mode with dynamic load balancing and and the third in failover mode?. The application running is a web server with Oracle databse at the back end. The node in failover mode is meant for disaster recovery.
Also I would like to know if Sun Cluster 2.2 supports this type of configuration.

Sun Cluster 2.2 does no support scalable services so could not be used for this type of configuration.
SC 3.0 could be used with a web server configured as a scalable service and Oracle running as a failover service within the same three node cluster.

I'm used to Tracktion, trying to learn Logic. When editing/mixing multimicked, multitrack recorded audio...
1) when using an edit group set in the mixer view I can cut and slide regions in all tracks and that is good. I can crossfade all tracks in one operation and that's good, but I cant fade all tracks in one operation. How does one do that?
2) can you set the volume of a region? This is very handy in Tracktion. Quicker than automation curves.
3) can you add plugins like reverb, compressor, eq to a region, rather than a track?
4) When using editgroups is there a way to temporarilly override the group, perhaps by holding cmd-key or similar, so that you can alter the length of one region in the group without changing the length of the others - other than removing the track from the region/track group
5) I've thought of the edit groups as a group of regions, but perhaps they're more like a group of tracks?

Beginners question about creating first database and tables

i recently have installed 10g express edition, because i want to transform my php-script from mysql to oracle database. (due to the fact that mysql is "not allowed sofware" at the company i work for).
it is a quit small script, just a shift-report system, build because of frustration about an used shift report system based on excel sheets. Company likes it, but IT-department rejected it, because it is myssql. They do own a lot of oracle servers, so they set up a database for me, got a username and password.(Tnsnames entry). The rest i have to do by myself, no further support from IT department.
I have made 2 simple php functions to connect to database:

How do i create this database and tables?
after googling i read something about schema owners, but cant find anything about how to copy my mysql database/tables to oracle.
Please, help is really appreciated by me.

Translating from mysql to Oracle will need a bit of fixups for the DDL, once an oracle instance is created, set up and running, you won't create a database but you will have a database user or users that create/own a collection of tables, indexes, functions, procedures, etc.
It will take a bit of pouring through the oracle documentation to get those table create statements to work, i.e. the engine=, charset=, auto_increment items won't succeed, datatypes need adjustments, the tic marks around the entity names aren't necessary, quite a few other items from the mysql data definition language don't have an oracle equivalent.
