Behavior of ttf-sazanami with Firefox in different languages

Yesterday I installed ttf-sazanami as a solution for font rendered on Japanese websites, but today I noticed it's being used in Firefox as the font on websites that are explicitly English and even specify <html lang="en">.
Until now, it's been using Ohsnap for everything as I wanted, because I've specified it explicitly as my font of choice in just about all configuration files such as GTK, Qt, .Xresources, etc.
It was displayed in any text input fields in the browser, and any sort of HTML that didn't have any explicitly declared font(s).
I ran fc-match a few times to see what font is supposed to be getting rendered:
$ fc-match sans
DejaVuSans.ttf: "DejaVu Sans" "Book"
$ fc-match serif
DejaVuSerif.ttf: "DejaVu Serif" "Book"
$ fc-match monospace
DejaVuSansMono.ttf: "DejaVu Sans Mono" "Book"
I'm very confused why some English websites are rendering ttf-sazanami. It doesn't appear that it should be happening.
My only locale is en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8

Also, I'm not using Infinality or any sort of foreign font packages (such as Microsoft, Mac, etc.)

For Translating you can do it by
Going in transaction SE63 -> Translation -> Abap objects -> Other Long Texts -> FS Forms and Styles.
There you have to enter client and form name source lang. and target lang.
Then you export it with the program RSTXSCRP in the language u have translated....
As you have form created in English and you can download and upload it in only English .

Create Instruction Manual with same style, different languages?

How to create a book with graphs and tables (instruction manual) in one language and create afterwards many different linked copies where just the language should be manually changed? While editing the original (graphs etc..) the copies now should change the same way except the language.

Layers seems okay, but I'm not sure to work practical on this in fact the book has 400 pages?
So if I unterstand you correctly, you meant that I should create one layer for every language and within e.g. Layer EN I will create every english textfield and so on.
I'm just not sure how to handle the different size/length of the different languages within the same document, to don't destroy formatting.
For example width of tablecolums: FR (language) wording is longer than EN wording.
For one language I need one extra line at the end of one passage..

It's possible you have some files that have those tags. I've seen tags show up like that when I've downloaded files.
You can just delete the unused tags that say "Green" but have no color and are in English. Just keep the tags you want. You may wish to click on the tags and see what file may be tagged with them first.

How to access date with respective to different language

In my database i stored the date in the following format1992-03-28 13:07:53.000.
In My application user can use upto 8 languages.Now the problem is when the user logged in with english the date format will be like 5/26/08(dd/mm/yy).but me convert this format to 05/26/2008(dd/mm/yyyy) through and use the following syntax for constrains dateformat(MaoDate,'mm/dd/yyyy') = '05/26/2008'
Now my problem is for some other language the date format is like Arr 20 07 or 25.05.92.But me wrote the code conversion only for the format mm/dd/yy.
Is there any general way to acces the date for all the languages?

Now the problem is i will get the string like 5/8/08 or Jan 21 07 .... from My GUI. But me wrote code only to convert from 5/8/08 to 05/08/2008...Bcz date comparison was happening in dd/mm/yyyy format.
But whenever i am getting data like Jan 21 07 from GUI my conversion is not happening.And now the date constrain is dateformat(MaoDate,'mm/dd/yyyy') = 'Jan 21 07' i mean my code checking the date format with dd/mm/yyyy with date Jan 21 07.
So i need to write a code to convert all the regional format to dd/mm/yyyy.So is there any common way to comapre the date with all regional format!!!!!!

Smartforms : Probelm with Text in different languages.

In development server in client 500 and language EN i create some new text coping existing text and change the text. These text are visible in language DE using transaction smartforms.
I try to check the form in development server client 510 language EN. the changes are present but when i try to see the change in client 510 languare DE the changes doesnot exists. The New text contains the same text as the original text which was copied. both having the same text.
Can somebody help here.

Even without translations if you do the changes in Smartforms in DE language it will reflect in other client, check the smartform is activated properly in DEV client.
For translation for your info:
SE63-> Menu TRanslations->R3 enterprice->otherlongtexts->smart forms.
Give the name of the smartform and source and destination language.
Once you do the translation you need to activate the Smartform.
The above navgations deffres woith SAP version.

Created site in IWEB 08, works on Safari but looks different with Firefox?

I created a site with Iweb 08. I used Safari as the viewing browser and was happy with how the site looked. I then used Fetch to FTP the folder to the web server. When viewing the page on the server with Safari it was great, but when viewed with Firefox it was all frigged up. I didn't try it with Internet Destroyer cause personally I don't like it. I then published the page folder to Web.Mac.Com. The site works great on both browsers when accessed through web.mac.com. Is there something missing when accessing the site on my original server? My thought now is to remove the site from the original server and just bite the bullet and fly it on web.mac.com. Appreciate any thoughts

I think part of my problem was trying to move content made with Dream Weaver into IWEB. My site was made with Dream weaver originally. I pasted it into IWEB, thinking it was possible to do. It was to a point. I had to redo all my links and buttons and so on, but the pictures and text content seemed to look fine. After somewhat completing the site I published to a folder and used Fetch FTP to move the site to the server I was using. That is when i got the different looks in different browsers. I then published to the .mac server as I had a 60 day free trial. Low and behold the site looked good on the 2 browsers I have on my new IMAC. I switched over to the Windows side of the IMAC and logged into the site with IE 7. It looked good there too. So I ended up going with the .mac account to host the site
www.unitedpuett.com. I then had to redirect from Network Solutions, my registrar for the site, so when the address was typed in it would direct to the .mac server. This was another chore but was solved easily by

On another note, i read that Microsoft was releasing IE 8 beta. The big change was they were finally standardizing their browser to match all the others when opening pages.

CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground. In any case, with the background that I have set in system settings, and this is the background to which my sessions consistantly boot, new desktops come up for the second or up to the third background with this initially set background. Then in the third or fourth desktop creation (I seldom go beyond four), the background for the new desktop, is one that I was using one or two months ago...

I am using firefox 4 and my website looks different in the LCD and Laptop(both with same screen resolutions). The same looks ok with firefox 3.6. Why i am getting this difference?

I am using firefox 4 and i can see difference in the laptop and the lcd. The site looks fine with firefox 3.6 for both and also for all the browsers. Only for firefox 4, things are getting screwed in laptop, as it looks fine for the LCD.

Since loading Firefox version 5 all my emails from talktalk have all become "undefined" and will not allow me to click onto open box. Only access from other computers with different browsers will. Problem with Firefox or problem with Talktalk?

I tried going to system restore, but could not open any pages at all after going to a system restore point. Had to reverse this as could not access anything at all then via Mozilla Firefox icon.

I upgraded to Firefox 6 random websites are using illegible fonts from my computer instead of the default. No issues with Firefox 5 or any other browser I use. Each time I open Firefox or reinstall it a different illegible font appears. Please help.

Firefox 6 using incorrect fonts.

When I delete the font that keeps showing up as the default, a new illegible font appears. The fonts are not 'garbled' they are just decorative typefaces that are being grabbed from my computer. I have never had an issue with my fonts on old Firefox versions or other browsers like chrome, safari, etc., so I don't think the issue is my fonts. I also don't want to have to delete all the fonts off of my computer. I uploaded another photo of when I deleted the font that was appearing before. Issues with Firefox hogging resources...

I have several issues with Firefox intermittently consuming 99-100% of my CPU memory. Now, let me preface this by saying that I am NOT an advanced user, and can only tell you what I see on things like the Task Manager and such. Furthermore, I know that you guys know about some of this stuff - at least, I am pretty sure you do - but I am nowhere near comfortable enough to mess with any command line... stuff... in Firefox. I just am not knowledgeable enough about the program, and I don't want to 'break' it (lol). Anyway, down to business. Here are the issues I am having:
1. Upon startup, Firfox takes between 30 seconds and a minute and a half to load 5 tabs. When I first downloaded and installed it, these same tabs took less than 10 seconds to load. I have tried clearing my cache and history but nothing seems to help. If it matters, I have been using Firefox for going on 5 years now.
2. Once the program has loaded, '''any''' keyboard shortcuts I use in it (ctrl+a, ctrl+c or v, alt=tab, etc) cause the CPU memory usage of Firefox to spike to 99 or 100 percent. In affect, it freezes my computer for anywhere between 2 and 30 seconds, roughly. It does this usually, but not always, and I frequent all the same sites, so the page I am on does not seem to matter.
3. I have noticed that some of the addons I use with Firefox, mainly Multi Links, lag as well when the above issue is occurring. Not sure if the two are connected in any way (also not sure why that feature is not ''built into Firefox to begin with'') and would have checked this but I will not risk not being able to get back here again. See below.
4. This is unrelated, but I felt it merited some small mention. This is effectively my SIXTH attempt at posting my query. The first time, I created an account and it forwarded me to some page basically saying 'Yup, you're logged in alright.' Then it KEPT doing that every time I tried to flesh out and ask my question, until I navigated COMPLETELY away from the page ''four times'' and attempted this one last time. Very frustrating. I even tried going to Live Chat for help, but somehow got off the chat window page and then suddenly chat was closed... right. Anyway, point being, it was difficult to get this posted and it has me even more annoyed. >.<
I have always loved Firefox because it was faster and more reliable than IE. But here recently... it just seems to be going downhill. For instance, I have seen others ask questions about what's going on with the plugin container and that stupid flash plugin - I happen to have that issue rather severely, to the point that I must leave Flash off entirely until I ''have to'' turn it back on (which is wearing down my last nerve, I might add, since I use sites that require that particular plugin daily), and while I did see a couple rather nice solutions about editing/tweaking internal Firefox settings, I must profess that I am nowhere near competent or comfortable enough to even think about attempting them. Furthermore, I do not believe I should be required to make such changes in order to get the program to function properly and risk ruining it completely so that I have to uninstall and reinstall just so I have Firefox. This is all rather exasperating, and judging from the replies I saw on those topics, I do not expect much help here (a couple of people were rather rude on one of those topics, I am afraid I am a minority here, not knowing my way around program language and all =( ). My main goal is to make you aware, if you are not already, that issues exist and if you have tried anything on your end to rectify them, it has not worked for some. I am at my wit's end here, I do not know what else to do to try to solve these issues other than clear cache and history, restart Firefox, so on and so forth. *sigh* I'm seriously thinking about going back to IE, and you have no idea how much that really ticks me off; I think, out of all of this, even all my wasted time, that's what upsets me the most.

Issues of this sort are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like them to be. However, they tend not to be cause by Firefox itself, but rather by software that is running either inside or alongside it, such as add-ons or firewalls. Since these issues have a broad span of possible causes, you need to diagnose your problems before fixing them. Follow these instructions ''to the line'', as they'll probably help you diagnose and fix the problems you're having.
#run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe-mode] to disable all extensions, themes and plugins. If this fixes your problem, be it with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with add-ons (plugins, themes or extensions). Proceed to number 2. Ok, now... ''If'' disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to fix your problems (or, in other words, if you've just read number 1 on the list above and come straight here), then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Detecting which program it is may be tricky, but the following list should help you. Make sure you follow it carefully. Don't forget to answer the question on the last point, if nothing else helps.
#try reinstalling Firefox. No data will be lost. You can get the latest version (for free, as always) at [http://www.getfirefox.com/ getfirefox.com]. Make sure you [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox uninstall Firefox] prior to reinstalling it.
