Behaviors Effects Toggle Fails

When applying Behaviors > Effects (Fade, Slide) and setting visibility to Toggle, it toggles the target DIV on, but it doesn't toggle it off on the subsequent click.
And, BTW, on one simple test page it works, but on another, not much different, it fails.
First question: does anybody know of know issues with this?
Any known fixes?

Answers are in your code. Compare your working code with the non-working code. Note the differences.

DW CS3 - Server Behaviors effects blind - it blinks when loading

Hi,
I use a window xp operating system. I created a floating div on an html page, and inside the div I inserted a table with 2 columns. In the left column I inserted a photo and in the right a link to 'enter' the site. I gave the photo a server behavior effect to 'blind down' the photo on upload. The issue is that when the page first uploads, the photo blinks for a split second, before it begins to start the 'blind down' effect. It looks bad that when a user gets to the page for the first time that same photo blinks quickly before it starts the effect. How do I stop it from blinking before it starts the effect?

After effects warning: failed to create script panel

Can anyone help me out? Every time I try and load a script I get this warning "after effects warning: failed to create script panel"

Hi,
I have had this problem also with CS6 and found a solution. If I try to open a script UI panel with a project open, I get this message, but if I close the project and then launch the scripts, they write without hassle. Then I re-open my project. Hope that helps.

Download After Effects 2014 failed but can't uninstall - error5

The attempted install of After Effects 2014 has failed which I'm informed of when I try to launch.
The message also tells me to uninstall and reinstall.
When I attempt this, however, the uninstaller only shows Adobe Type Support CS5 and this also fails if I try to use it.
I've restarted and run the cleaner tool which has now removed the previous version of AE.
What the hell is going on and what do I do?

In this case, the Error 5 is an AMT error at launch, not the corrupted file error you're thinking of. Most likely there is some bad or missing data in the AMT database files (PCD/Caps), and using the newer CS5 Clean script to remove just the CS5 product data, then reinstlalling, would solve the issue

After Effects CS6 fails to render and I dont know why?

I'm fairly new with After Effects and my problem is that when I am trying to render my movie, it fails to render at the exact same point every time. The point where it fails is when my 1st video is transitioning to my 2nd video in the movie. And when I try to RAM preview my movie, it wont render parts where one video transitions to another video. Earlier today there was an error coming up saying that frames could not render simultaneously and that I needed to fix my multiprocessing settings. Strange Boot Camp Behavior/Effects for WXP-SP2

Warning: MAC Newbie as of 25 APR (but 20 years of PCs) so please forgive if inappropriate post
Reasons for Post: Non-critical questions & my experience may be applicable to others and 'Apple-debugging'.
Relevant system data: 2 x 500GB-drives and Boot Camp V2.0
Background: MAC side works great. Problems started with Boot Camp Installation of Win-XP-Pro-SP2
Stage 1: First install attempt (note that 32GB is too small for what I want to install in Windows)
Assigned 2nd drive as windows partition and started install with no error messages. Got to "select partition for install". The C-partition of ~473GB was tagged as FAT32 but not as 'Boot Camp', but it accepted selection and appeared to install XP without problems. Once in XP-proper, did all recommended updates (Windows and Apple) and started application installs. Things started going progressively more flaky with each install, with application CTDs and even 'registry write' failures during apps installation. Eventually I gave up and used the MAC side to erase the Windows partition.
Stage 2: Two More attempts at using complete 2nd drive as Windows partition
These times I started getting error messages in Windows setup ( ...unexpected error 769 occurred at line 5199... ) and got no partitions usable by Windows setup (all partition types of 'unknown' and was forced to F3 exit from setup). Then again using MAC side to erase Windows partition.
Stage 3: Tried assigning 'Half' of 2nd drive to Windows partition
Got no error messages. The partition-select screen in Windows setup now showed info as per Boot Camp Installation Guide. Win XP installation completed with no problems. Apps installations that failed earlier now seem OK (looks like at least one app has a problem with SP2).
My Surmise: Boot Camp V2.0 has a 'large drive problem'.
My Questions:
1. Did I do something something 'newbie' stupid?
2. From other posts it looks like I should avoid the 'Win-side' Boot Camp 2.1 update for now, true or false?

I believe you are correct. This was pointed out during beta, but I thought it was fixed.

BC 2.1 seems to be OK for XP 32-bit. Worked fine on my other MBP which has been running XP Pro since the early beta days, under Tiger. Upgrading to Leopard had no effect on it.
On that machine, the BC2.1 even came "through the transom" as an automatic Apple Software Update, which surprised me.
Nothing new yet regarding the Vista updates, but for your system, I don't see any issues.

After Effects CC failed renders, RAM preview useless

Hi there,
I'm having some strange issues with After Effects, the sort that I've never experienced before.
I'm animating a 5-second sequence with nine layers, each with video copilot's "Twitch" effect plugin added. The comp is big, set to 4000 x 4000 px.
When I go to RAM preview on full resolution, I only get ten frames of the comp previewed before it loops from that point. Spacebar preview returns the same result (it freezes at ten frames). I tried exporting the comp, but it returns "Failed at 00:00:02." I created a new 1920x1080 comp and tried again with scaled down source material but the same effects occur, this time further down the timeline at about 3 seconds. Can't RAM preview, Spacebar preview or export beyond that point. If I trim the comp to just before the problem frames at 3 seconds, I can successfully export.
I'm running a brand new macbook pro (2.3 GHz, 16gb RAM, Nvidia Geforce GT 750M [CUDA enabled]) and the project is located on the internal SSD. OSX 10.9. After Effects is the latest update available 12.2.1.5.
Any ideas? I've not found anything in any forums dealing with this specifically. I think I have an OSX update due actually - I'll check to see if this does something interesting and report back!

I deleted Twitch from the plugins folder and ran a few tests - everything seems fine.
I reinstalled Twitch, but used perhaps an older version - I didn't use the 64-bit specific plugin provided as part of the download package. The same sequence now previews seamlessly and fast too.
Seems that Twitch causes strange little AE hiccups!

After Effects - Warning: failed to write xmp metadata

I have a couple of users who are saving a render job to a network share using After Effects. Towards the end of the render, they get a warning saying "failed to write xmp metadata" It does not ruin the render or anything. It just shows the warning. They have full access rights to the share. What is causing this error?

They are successfully able to render to their local hard drive without any error and the error is only occuring with wmv output but not avi. Where exactly are the settings for XMP so that it can be configured properly?
But since they can render to the local hard drive without any errors there must be something that AE doesnt like about rendering to a share. What could that be?

Multiple Panels Effect Toggle

I created the top navigation for this site based on the
multiple slides effect -

It works very nicely, the only problem is that once you click
on one of the top buttons and a panel slides down, there is no way
to close it unless you click on a different link. For instance, I
would like to make it so that if you click on About Us, the panel
opens, and if you click on About Us again, that panel will close,
but I also want to have only one panel open at a time. The toggle
is set to true, but it only affects the clicks between panels, not
the same one. Does anyone know how I can achieve this, or perhaps
another approach I should take?

After much trial and error, I found a way to make it work. I
have no idea if this is the right way to go about things, but it
makes the menu function as I wanted it to. Here is the code, should
anyone run into the same problem.

Why is "onLoad" not allowed for the div tag in the behaviors effects?!

I have a js menu positioned relatively over a Flash intro in hybrid fashion; I'd like for it to appear gradually on Load so that it appears at the end of the intro, but you can't use onLoad for the div tag apparently. Is there any other way to do this? I do NOT want to have to create a navigation menu in Flash...

As David says onLoad does exactly what it says, triggers the event on page load.
A simpler solution would be to attach a JavaScript behavior to the onLoad event or separately it would not matter, to gradually fade-in your menu.
There are many utilities to do this and all are dhtml, Try searching for one and adding it to your webpage.
See the spry fade-in/out for an example of a simple effect, (you would have to adapt it to your requirements as with most special effect behaviors).

After Effects CC fails to launch

After installing AE CC through the Creative Cloud Application, it fails to launch stating
After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/rickyline/Library/Preferences/AdoberAfterEffects/12.2/Workspaces.
Click Ok, then it says unexpected failure during application startup.
I have updated the app and it still fails.
Has anybody come acroos this and know how to fix it.

Sounds like you have a permissions issue with your file structure.
You haven't mentioned what OS you're using, but I'm guessing the latest Mac OS. If so, I'll bet you upgraded your OS rather than doing a clean install. No problem though, just set the permissions on the folders correctly and you should be fine. (There were several threads about this when Mavericks was first released.)

After Effect cc - failed to update

I tried to run the lates update of After Effect CC. It failed on my iMac
I tried to restart my iMac and run it one more time.. when it almost downloaded the update it went straight to failed.
So what can I do to fix it? Do I have to reinstall it? will I then have to reinstall all my plugins???
Or is it an easier way to do this?

I found a solution:
I have try all: Uninstall, reinstall, reboot, Clean... and nothing have worked until I have seen somebody saying this:
to fix this (on a PC)
1: open up the Creative Cloud control panel, and quit out.
2: Navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater
3: Delete (or rename) the directory named "1.0"
4: restart Creative Cloud
5: Got to the App manager and update
I try that but didn't work. But finally a notice (in my case) in this directory (C:\Users\Bart Raven\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\Install\AdobeAfterEffects-13.0.0-Trial\13.0.2) I had a SETUP.ZIP file of the 13.0.2 update that was BROKEN and it didn't want to unzip. IT WAS A SETUP.ZIP file BROKEN.
THAT WAS THE PROBLEM!!
I download a new 13.0.2 update from this site:

Then i put the last update from the Adobe Cretive Cloud.
SO, The problem is a broken SETUP.ZIP file update in some place in here: C:\Users\Bart Raven\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\Install - for WINDOWS.
Just replace it for a good one.

After Effects error: Failed to connect to Adobe Premiere Pro Dynamic Link (86 :: 1)

When I try to open a project in After Effects I get his error message.
Media is stored on a 8TB Raid 10 NAS connected with a Gigabit router. The NAS is on my desk connected directly to my computer through the router.

Same as always: Something on your system is blocking the required auxiliary processes. You need to figure out what it is.

After effects import failing and crashing

After effects CC 2014.1.1 on imac i7 running OSX 10.10.1
Any actions within after effects evokes an error "warning undo group mismatch, will attempt to fix"
This often either crashes software or deletes without trace all imported recent files.
A connecting issue to this is tat the import function via the menu or the short cut only works once. a second import and the import window does not show up. The only way is to drag and drop.
This then seems to be one of the trigger for the mismatch issue thus AE deleting all imported files even after working on them.
I have tried both AE CC and AE CC2014 with the same problems on both software versions
I have tried deleting the preferences from both software versions
I have also tried a complete uninstall and re install, this meant I lost CC and now only have CC2014 but it STILL has the same problem.
Im reallly stuck here and I have a deadline luming and a workflow that has more or less come to a standstill.
The only other thing I can say that isnt my day to day work flow is that Im using a C4D .aec file for camera data and image sequence but not sure if that would cause a n issue.
PLEASE HELP
