Behringer 502 Mixer

I would love it if someone could provide detailed instructions on how to hook this analog mixer to my Mac Book Pro and use it on Logic. I want to be able to monitor the sound from my computer and the sound from my mic and also record using my mic, and that's it.
Please tell me all the cables I will need and where they would go, ****, draw a picture if you feel like it...:D
I appreciate any help.

Well apparently I can't say h-e-l-l....sorry.

  • Using Line 2/3 on Xenyx 502 Mixer with Garageband

I would like to be able to use the Line 2/3 on my Xenyx502 Mixer as backup means to using Skype for guests to call in on a low budget podcast show. I have a 1/4" Y adapter cable that will hook up to my iphone, the problem is whenever it is plugged in, Garagbend is recording through the iPhone mic instead of the mic that is plugged into the mixer. As soon as I disconnect the cable or phone Garageband goes back to recording through the mic. I am new to this and would appreciate any help.

  • Behringer Q502USB Mixer - audio not getting thru to Garageband

Hi folks, I just purchased a Behringer Q502USB mixer to use with Logic and Garageband.  I have updated the audio In within system preferences and in that dialog box, I can see the virtual meters responding to the audio input I'm providing.  However, once I go into Garageband or Logic, after I select that device as the Input for the audio track, the audio is not being 'heard' by the software so the VU meters do not register and my tracks are silent.
I double-checked Behringer and no additional drivers are required, so I'm sure I've got my bases covered from that perspective.
I just wanted a simple mixer for putting in some scratchpad songs late night on my laptop with an old keyboard and drum machine and I thought this would be a plug-and-play no-brainer, so any guidance would be appreciated.

Did you try, Garageband > Preferences > Audio/Midi and choose the interface.
Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio > Devices, after choosing input click apply change

  • Media Encoder doesn't recognize Behringer USB mixer

I just purchased a Behringer Xenyx X1222USB mixer to  use for live stream events using Flash Live Encoder on my MacBook Pro.  Flash Encoder doesn't recognize the USB input from the mixer.  Other I know the computer recognizes it since I went into the Audio Settings and can see the USB input there with audio levels.
I use Yosemite platform.  Any help needed as soon as possible.

So, it looks like Media Encoder is stuck in a trial version?  The only formats available are indeed .f4v, .flv, .mp3 & h.264.  Is a reinstall of Media Encoder the fix?

What is the name of the product I need to connect this mixer (output like speaker jack) to the G5imac (usb)?
I need some kind of jack to usb cable, can you give me the name and suggest a decent brand?

  • CS5.5 with Behringer mixer/ASIO and latency...

I have AA 5.5 and a Behringer usb mixer. I recently installed the Behringer "highspeed ASIO sudio mixer" software. which now allows me to select my  "system performance" with corresponding latency (normal, rapid, highspeed, etc). But I'm finding that my latency can only go as low as 16ms... Thing is, my cpu is a Intel i7 3.4 GHz with 12 GB of  RAM. Am I crazy to think that I should be able to get down to at least "rapid (7)? But preferably "highspeed (5).

    Bob thanks for the insight!
Alas, you've touched on some topics I don't know much about ("round trip" and "effects send" for monitoring... so I guess I have some research to do . I know my mixer is of the Lower-End types in terms of offering many options, but I've had such great luck in the past from other boards (like my old Alesis) that I thought for certain this could handle the workload.
Do you mean that I should just use the mixer (Behringer xenyx 802USB) for monitoring instead of using the software and cpu to monitor?
    Thanks again and Happy Holidays.

  • Sony Tape Deck-Behringer Mixer  UB 802 interface

I'm having a problem obtaining the audio in Garage Band from the Sony Tape deck I have connected to the Behringer UB 802 mixer connected to my Mac.
On the mixer I have a jack output from the main output to the Audio line-in of the Mac.
Whats odd is that with my microphone connected to the mixer, I have no problem obtaining audio in Garage Band . The only problem I have is with the Sony Tape deck (TC-D5) trying to obtain audio. I'm using an analogue tape deck.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has any helpful insight in obtaining an audio feed in Garage Band from a tape deck via
    The Behringer UB802 mixer.

Mac Pro 2.66 GHZ, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HD Mac OS X (10.4.9) Garage Band 3, Behringer UB802 Mixer, Sony TC-D5 tape deck
Mac Pro 2.66 GHZ, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HD   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Garafge Band 3, Behringer mixer UB 802, Sony Tape Deck TC-D5

I have my mic/headphone combo plugged into the mic XLR connection of the Behringer mixer. I don't believe the Mac Pro has an internal microphone.
Thanks for any help on getting this going. When connected to the line input of my Sony PC I have no problem obtaining the audio feed from the tape deck that is connected to the mixer via the two RCA tape-in plugs.

  • Audio Mixer to Mac

I just bought a Behringer Xenyx 502 mixer for use with a Shure microphone. I just want to record vocals with it. I didn't think about the inputs from the mixer to the Mac until after I bought it. The mixer has two 1/4 out's. I bought a cable that has two mono 1/4 out to a stereo 1/8. The people at the store told me that wouldn't work, that the audio in on the Mac wasn't good enough quality for good recording. They suggested a USB imput device instead. That's not true, is it? The audio in is optical quality, isn't it?
    Thanks!

The input may be a combined optical and analogue, I don't know the computer, but in any case the Behringer provides an analogue output and you have the correct cable. The line input on Macs is usually pretty good, though there is often a small amount of noise - you may very well find that it is insignificant. Give it a try: if you aren't happy then a simple analogue to USB interface will be absolutely fine - for plain stereo there is no need at all to go for an expensive FireWire interface (these are needed for multiple inputs).

  • Mixer or audio interface?

    Hi
I want to record ono garageband but can't do i just through line in. i want to get either a 2-input usb interface for £30 or a 5 input (behringer 502, for £50) mixer which i could connect through line in. For a start, would both of these work?
Would the mixer need an adapter to be connected to line?
Which oe should i go for? I think more inputs probably would be useful in the long run.
    Thanks
    Iz

OK. Going down the interface route, i got looking at 1/4 inch to usb cables. These were the alesis line link
    http://www.amazon.com/Alesis-LineLink-AudioLink-4-inch-USB-Cable/dp/B001T9O5V6
    the alesis guitar link
    http://www.amazon.com/Alesis-GuitarLink-AudioLink-4-inch-Cable/dp/B001OXEDA0/ref =pdcp_MI1
and an odd one from hong kong
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350234301800&fromMakeTrack= true
Would these work plugged into the output of an amp with a mic as the input? or a guitar for that matter? Or do they have to be plugged straight in.
Also, what would quality be like?
    Thanks
    Iz

  • Recording from a mixer to my compu

Currently I am using a Behringer EurotrackUB802 mixer that is connected to my soundcard (sb li've! 24-bit) using a rca-to-/8th jack. Im using this soundcard until I get the money to get a digidesign or protools compatable soundcard with rca inputs. Whenever i try to record, its extrremley quiet and very poor quality. I have it going into my only line-in, which the instructions say isnt just a microphone input. is there anything i can do to make it louder and better quality?

    Hi
So you're using rca's for TAPE IN/OUT. Try instead the MAIN OUT path. This is the
path I use (Phonic) and what it's manual recommends.

  • Behringer UCA200 not working with Logic

I recently received a Behringer 1222FX mixing board for christmas. It came with a UCA200 which is a little RCA-USB product. I want to use this board with Logic 9 but i can't seem to get it to work. I added a track and selected Input 1 but when i hit record the only sound that was recorded was from the internal computer speakers.
I have already tried the board with Garageband and it worked fine. I was wondering if anyone would steer me in the right direction and help me get this to work with Logic.
Please note that this question maybe simple to answer as I am new to Logic.
    Thank You

Chance has it I just tested the UCA-200, and its' quality is very clearly inferior to my ancient Macs' built in 16 bits audio. So don't use it, use the Macs' own built in audio instead. Chances are that the BIA of your Mac is 24 bits (which Mac do you have?), whereas the UCA200 is only 16 bits. That thing is only an improvement if you have an old PC with 8-bits audio. Sorry Uli (Behringer).
    regards, Erik.

  • Can't get video production software to recognize USB mixer board

I'm using my new iMac 27" with dual quad Intel i5's to run streaming video to Ustream for a video program. I'm using Wirecast production software. Previously I had an Alesis USB audio mixer, which worked fine until the mixer itself developed a problem. I replaced it with a similar Behringer USB mixer.
When I open the Wirecast video production program, it tells me that it does not recognize the USB video codec. I've posted this problem on the Wirecast forum, but all they can advise me is that there may be some other software that is grabbing hold of the USB video codec before I open Wirecast, and only one piece of software can use the USB video codec at a time.
I know that the signal is getting to the computer via the USB input, as I can hear my microphone tests with headphones plugged into the computer via Garage Band. However, the sound is distorted, a little high and tinny and perhaps doubled.
I also have Ableton Light loaded onto the machine, though of course I do not have it active when I'm running Wirecast.
    Three questions:
    1. How can I make sure that nothing else is trying to use the USB audio codec before I open up Wirecast? Is there anything else that might be causing the problem?
    2. Assuming I have all the effects in Garage Band completely turned off during the mic tests, what could be causing the distortion?
    3. Are there any websites/books, etc, with beginner's information about using audio equipment with the Mac? I know a bit about audio, I used to use tape-based four-trackers to record speeches and I've done some time in serious studios as a performer-- but digital-based recording is fairly new to me.
Many thanks for all help. J.Beau

Log into another user account on your Mac Pro, connect one of your devices via USB and launch iPhoto. Is the device recognized?
If not try booting into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode and run the same test.

  • Cannot record multiple mic's with mixer board

I have a Satellite P205D-S7802 - I recently bought a Behringer Xenyx mixer so I can podcast with mutiple mic's. I cannot get anything to record through the mixer. I have everything connected correct and even contacted the Behringer tech support  just to be sure.  Is there a way to get this to work? It is driving me crazy......Thanx

You may need to go to Control Panel under Sounds and change the default input from the internal to external mic.

  • Boosting the mic input level

I want to boost the very faint signal from my low-end, basic dynamic mic into my iMac so the input level is higher.
I would appreciate any feedback on any of the following products or choices:
My choices seem to be a mic pre-amp:
    http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-TUBE-ULTRAGAIN-MIC100-Preamp-182482-i11252 16.gc
    or
    http://www.guitarcenter.com/M-Audio-Audio-Buddy-100387450-i1154049.gc
Or a basic mixer (which evidently has a built-in mic pre-amp:
    http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-Xenyx-502-Mixer?sku=63126 2
    Or an audio-interface:

Any intel or thoughts on these would be much appreciated. I'm going for decent, clean sound quality, not Abbey Road.

    Hey jvanostran,
Sorry to hear you are having these issues with your Mac. If you are having issues with your mic not retaining the input volume levels in the Sound preference pane, you may want to try repairing the permissions on the startup volume, resetting the System Management Controller (SMC), and resetting the NVRAM.
