Behringer bcf2000 and logic 8 problem

My bcf2000 is sending midi notes through Logic causing it to play sounds whenever a button or fader on the bcf2000 is pushed. Has anyone had this problem? Can't figure it out how to get it to stop

after many restarts and power cycling it seemed to correct

  • Behringer BCF2000 and Garageband?

Just picked up the Behringer BCF2000 and am having problems configuring the mixer or getting it to learn.
The M-Audio iControl is supposed to be compatible with Logic Express now, and Logic Express works with the BCF2000. So, shouldn't there be a way for Garageband to work, or does it not send independent MIDI channels?
I may be incorrect in assuming iControl works with Logic Express...might only be with Logic.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

GarageBand doesn't "send" midi at all. And I think you can only record a single midi track at a time. I am not sure if this device works with GB or not. I am not familiar with it at all. If it requires send AND receive of midi then I suspect it won't.

  • Anyone using a Behringer BCF2000 w/ Logic Express??

I'd sure like to get my hands on a decent control unit and the Behringer BCF2000 fits the bill and the budget. I was curious if anyone here is using this unit and could tell me how easy it is to setup in Logic.
    Thanks,
    Brad

I use the BCF2000 with Logic Express, and it works perfectly. Fortunately, since the firmware update (available on the Behringer homepage), the BCF2000 supports emulation of Logic Control, meaning you get to save yourself a lot of hassle assigning the individual knobs. Personally, I'd recommend it, since it seems to be the only control surface that offers nice features for reasonable pricing. My only problem is that the faders aren't touch-sensitive, meaning you sometimes have to fight with them if you've got automation data. Apart from that, great piece of equipment to have.
    Hope that helps,

  • M-Audio i-Control with Logic 7.2 vs. Behringer BCF2000 with Logic 6

I am just about to set up Logic Pro 6 after using Cubase CE for a while. I have also been investigating control surfaces. I heard from Apple and M-Audio that Logic Pro 7.2 now supports the i-Control control surface. I am debating the benefits of upgrading to 7.2 and getting the i-Control vs sticking with 6 and buying the BCF2000.
What recommendations do you have? Do the layouts of 7.2 and the i-Control enhance each other like Garage Band and the i-control do (I have never used Garage Band). How well do Logic and the BCF2000 integrate?
Thanks for any comments or recommendations.

    Joe,
I've got the BCF2000, and got it for the primary reasons of tactile control via fader. Moterized is a cool feature. I've had it for over a year now and used it w/Logic 6.4.3, and now 7.1.1. Seeing that it lacks the LCD display (like the Logic or Mackie) which shows the parameters of the channel I bought this third pary app called LCXView that displays exactly like the LCD would, but i've since stopped using it because it started getting in the way to have Logic recognize the BCF on launch (once I jumped over to 7). The BCF needs to be booted in LC mode (Logic Control), as mine is by default.
The BCF doesn't have a shuttle control, which I would have liked. Eventually, I'll probably get a Mackie on the used market. Basically, the BCF get's the job done. Apple doesn't mention the unit in the manuals as supported, but by virtue of the fact that the BCF is in Logic Control emulation mode, it is supported.

  • MOTU 828mkII and Logic Problems

Mac G5 OSX 10.4.6 Logic Pro 7.1.1 MOTU 828mkII I've installed the new driver for the firewire software for the MOTU, I've reset factory settings, i've double checked and triple checked the internal clock settings. I am still getting distortion and high pitched whistles and error message. This happend once before but after installing the new driver things worked fine. Now i'm not getting anywhere. Thanks for any help !!!!

Just a note, I've had this problem as well with the MoTu 828ii. There is an issue with this system not functioning properly with Pro Logic 7.1. Out of the blue, I start getting a message "Midi and Audio out of synch" messages, and there is no sound. I tried downloading the latest driver, no go.
I called the MoTu people and they aren't very helpful with their system's conflict with Pro Logic. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying the Motu at this point. I'm thinking of Apogee if I can't get this thing running soon.

  • Problems with Presonus Firestudio and Logic

I am having problems with compatability with my brand new Presonus Firestudio recording interface and Logic pro 8. I am new to logic but not to home recording, and i cant understand what might be the problem. When i use the firestudio with garageband it works easily. In the garageband sound preferences there are input AND output channels that the user can define. (i.e. you can set your input channels to come from the firestudio while the output channels go to the computer speakers or headphone jacks or whatever you define it as).
From what i have seen in logic, there is only one option for your audio settings. when in preferences and under audio, there is a "device" setting in which you can define your audio device. Wheather this is input AND output for the program, i do not know. but the problem i am experiencing is that whenever i choose the firepod as the input device, no sound from logic will play from the speakers whatsoever. My first thought was that maybe ouput was going straight to the firestudio, but after plugging headphones into it this also did not work. Has anyone had success getting their firestudio to work in logic? if so let me know what settings you had to use, and how you got to moniter your input from from the firestudio via your computer.
    p.s.
another WIERD problem i have run into, is that if i shut off the firestudio while logic is open, alot of times it will shut down my whole computer. i have never heard of this happening. what am i doing wrong?
    thanks!

ah, I was hoping to find my solution here, but alas the thread is gone...
I recently bought a Macbook running Leopard, and am having difficulties with my PreSonus Firestudio Project thru Logic and Mainstage. I can get audio input and output just fine, but there's a ton of distortion/crackle. Kickstarting the sample rate seems to clear it up for a minute or two, but then the crackle comes back. The recorded tracks sound clean if I unplug the Firestudio, so apparently it's only in the monitoring stage?
On the PreSonus board, they're claiming it's Apple who needs to update drivers for Leopard; PreSonus says the "Firestudio Project is Leopard compatible."

  • 2x iMac G5: Both Logic Board and Display Problems, Warrenty?

    Hello,
Thank you for looking at this topic.
I am Jeroen from The Netherlands and proud owner of several Mac Mini's, iMac's and Macbook's. I have 2times the iMac G5, a beautiful machine, but both not working since 2 months.
I have two times the iMac G5 with iSight, both have logic board and display problems.
The first iMac doenst start at all, black screen, i hear the chime, but nothing happening. After a minute i see one horizantal white stripe but nothing happens.
The second iMac has weird horizantal stripes also, but the computer starts. It gives a finder and questionmark icon. After a while the fans go crazy.
Both these symptons are widely known on the internet. I would like to get this fixed, but prices are crazy. And because this is a common issue I would expect to get this fixed for no costs. I have contacted several Apple resellers but they shown me high prices and bad services. On these forums I've saw people in the USA who get this fixed free of charge.
Does anyone has any advice for me? I'll call apple USA this morning.
    Thankyou for ur time.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I know of no repair extension authorization which provides for the repair of either computer you describe beyond its original 12 month period of coverage. If either machine is covered by a warranty extension program provided by AppleCare, then the parts, labor or both required to replace the defective components may be offered at no charge to you. Final determination of eligibility is made at the part level by authorized Apple service providers or dealers and by the specific serial number of the machine submitted for service.
Absent a warranty extension, however, it is quite likely that you will have to pay for the repairs is you elect to have them performed.

  • Has anyone had a problem using Mainstage 2 and Logic 9 with PreSonus fire studio Mobile?

I Still can't get Mainstage and Logic to play well with my setup. I'm using a Mac Pro 2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB ram and Logic 9.1.6 and Mainstage2. I have a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile and M-Audio Midisport midi interfaces. The only Midisport that works consistently is a MisiSport 2X2 sith a thru/merge switch set to merge. I am playing all of this with a Roland A-90 keyboard. Logic sometimes starts, but the audio interface doesn't work. Mainstage crashes on start-up. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Hi
There have been several reported issues on this forum about problems a) with Roland controllers (Sending MIDI Clock and 'All Notes Off' ???), and b) MIDSport interfaces

I suggest that you try a 'scientific' process of elimination:
Disconnect all external hardware, and try MS
Connect the hardware singly, one at a time, to determine which is causing the problem

  • I have a problem with my motherboard and my battery of my 2010 macbook pro 13". It was just serviced with a new screen, keyboard, and logic board.

I have a problem with my motherboard and my battery of my 2010 macbook pro 13". It was just serviced with a new screen, keyboard, and logic board. How much will a new battery and motherboard cost and would it be worth it or should I just get a new computer. It was about 300 dollars to get it serviced last week. if it adds up to much past 600 dollars I will just get a new one. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
P.S During classes today it began beeping in my bag. Like three kind of long steady beeps then a short pause, and when I opened it I couldn't see anything but it was on so I turned it off and back on.

Depends on what options your Apple store offers - if they can do a depot repair (where they send it out), that's around $300 for all parts & labor.
If the store doesn't have that option, a logicboard is around $600, battery $80-$100, from what I've seen.
If they JUST replaced the logicboard, you absolutely should NOT have to pay for another replacement - the replacement is covered by a warranty. If they want you to pay for it, make sure you have a copy of the receipt for the work that was recently completed so you can show it to them. They have no reason to charge you for another logicboard.

  • Logic pro X 10.0.4 and EUCON problem - plug-ins name won't appear on the display of artist series

Logic pro X 10.0.4 and EUCON problem - plug-ins name won't appear on the display of artist series
    I'm currently using mavericks , logic pro x 10.0.4 and eucon 3.0.1
There was a freezing  problem which is now resolved by clicking the prevent app nap in the info  on eucon app and all my most used apps.

Yes - it works exactly as it did in Logic 9 under ML - my problem under mavericks and pro X was sluggish updating of display - turned encoder on MC MIX and nothing happened imediately and names on MC MIX not updating properly.
I only changed app nap to off - ie ticked it on get info panel of the EUCON application and relaunched whole lot and it as worked prefectly since (fingers crossed etc)

  • Timing problems with AU Ivory Piano + ESB and Logic 7.2

I have problems with Ivory and Logic 7.2:
The Ivory (AU version 1.50) plays well in tempo, but when I want to bounce (export track as audio file) the Ivory plays totally out of tempo.
Even when I touch the record button on audio tracks or when I want to record my mix on 2 audiotracks, the Ivory plays out of tempo.
Even freezing the Ivory track gives the same problem.
Then I need to go back to my last saved version.
The same actions with Emagic, Native Instruments and Spectrasonics AU plugins, and everything works fine.
I throwed away already the Ivory prefs, no positive results.
My Ivory sample files are on a separate 400 GB internal disk, and my Audio I'm recording on a external Glyph disk.
I think I have this problem since I've upgraded from Logic 7.1.1 to 7.2 but I'm not sure. I didn't worked long with Logic 7.1.1.
I don't work in Protools, but I use the DAE and Direct TDM (no Core Audio)
It happens in the most simple application: no DAE or AU plug-ins, only one Ivory AU plug-in.
    This is my configuration:
    Ivory AU (Audio object-Direct TDM-Instr) output ESB 1-2 -> input ESB1 2 (Audio Object-DAE) -> Output 1-2 of my digidesign interfaces
Ivory becomes totally unusable for me this way. Is someone having the same problems?
    Suggestions?

    Logic 7.2
    Protools 7.1cs4
    192, 2x96i, 1x 96 interface
    G5 dual 2,7   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   4 GB RAM

I tried already a lot of things, but it is very clear:
    1. Instantiating Ivory as AU- Ivory plays in tempo
    2. Record enable an audio track in the arrange window - Ivory plays out of tempo
This happens with the default song of logic, no other plugins or AU-instruments are instanciated.
    I can not find a way to convert my Ivory-midi to audio without the timing problems;
Bouncing, freezing, record to audio, export as audio file: all those things result in timing problems.
I tried this all with emagic plugins (ES2...) and Native Instruments plugins and then I don't have the tempo problem

  • Logic 9 and Logic Control Surface

I recently received a Behringer BCF2000 as a gift and have successfully set it up in LC (Logic Control) mode. I'm having an odd problem, however, as the control surface only is receiving from Logic and changes on the BCF2000 are not reflecting in logic. When I change sliders/pan positions/etc in Logic, the BCF2000 reflects these changes. However, pressing buttons on the BCF2000 is unresponsive and if I move a slider, the motorized fader will return to the position as set in Logic.
I have been scouring the manuals for a solution, I'm sure it's something simple but I'm getting very frustrated. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks!

    Indeed.
Remove the control surface driver, and use LC Xmu instead. It's the absolute best way to use the Korg controllers with Logic, and has just about every feature you want/need.

  • New Behringer x1204USB and Garageband user

So I recently purchased a Behringer x1204USB and have been watching tutorials for how to use it with GB.  So far I have a lot of it figured out, but I have a problem.  I'm trying to record a podcast with it, and I'd like to play sounds, bump music, etc. into the mixer from my laptap and have it loop back to my laptop from the mixer to record in GB.
Right now I have the mixer inputting to the laptop via the USB, and an additional laptop-to-mixer connection in the form of having my headphone jack plugged into channels 5/6 through the use of adapters.  I'm not the most tech savvy, but it seems logical to me that sound will go out the headphone jack to the mixer, then come back into the laptop through the USB, like an electronic loop.  And I can hear that the sound from the laptop is getting into channels 5/6 through my headphones, which are attached to the mixer.  However, when I hit record on GB it won't pick up that sound at all.
On the other hand, when I unplug 5/6 from my laptop headphone jack and hook it up to an MP3 player instead it works fine getting the sound to GB for recording.
Am I doing something wrong?  I've played with the audio drivers a hundred times and probably experimented with every possible configuration.  I'm almost to the point of just going with the MP3 player, but the thing is I'd like to play in youtube videos to comment on sometimes and I can't do that with the MP3 player.
    Any help would be awesome!

it sounds like you didn't turn on the line-in:

  • Any experience mixing with VRM box and Logic?

I was interested in anyone's experience using Focusrite's VRM box and Logic.

Someone mentioned the BSF2000. I have the same and it is very useful.
In the default BSF mode there is no feedback into the sliders (they don't move with existing automation), however you can send up to 117 CCs, PCs and some other kinds of data on each preset from up to 16 MIDI chanels and Logic picks them all up with no problems.
However, you can start the BCF 2000 in Logic Control mode, (for those who have BCF 2000 and haven't seen this option yet, swith off the BCF 2000, then swith on holding down the 3rd upper button– the one just below the Parameter rotary controller. When you start the display will show LC instead of bC. To return to BCF mode, restart holding the 1st upper button, the one just below the Type rotary control.) install the Logic control driver in Logic and you have feedback into the faders and rotary controls. The downside of the Logic Control mode is that is doesn't have instructions and I've spent days trying to work out what all the presets are.
Remeber too in BCF2000 mode you can not only use the controls to manage automation of ANY midi parameter, but you can also use them to replace keystroke shortcuts. eg I have one button that toggles all tracks between latch and read, another that moves through screen sets another that shows and hides global tracks etc.
    Well worth every penny.
