Behringer BCF2000 with Lightroom 4 under Win7 x64

I picked up a used Behringer BCF2000 to provide a nice hardware interface for making LR 4 adjustments (8 faders, numerous other controllers, all programmable to Lightroom functions).
I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and having a terrible time trying to get the BCF2000 running. After many tries, I successfully loaded the USB/MIDI drivers and even got the BCF recognized. But then it all went away and I've spent over a whole day trying to get drivers installed, update the firmware, and restore the factory defaults so I can set the unit to the correct mode for cross-communication between LR and the BCF. Meanwhile I've had numerous crashes and hours tweaking the registry and modifying the startup routine. But don't assume I'm an advanced programmer--I'm not, and I need some plain English help.
I'm looking for others who've successfully navigated this territory. If you're adept with setting up the BCF under 64-bit Win 7, please let me know and I'll formulate my questions to you at that time.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a USB issue. What system type and are you using a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port? I did a search and found at least one post indicating an issue with USB 3.0 ports. There may also be issues with recovering from Standby or Sleep mode. Try setting your Power Management Sleep mode to 'Never' when using the BCF2000.
http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/bc2000/conversations/topics/3193
This driver may have corrected the issue if you're using USB 3.0:
USB MIDI Driver
USB MIDI DRIVER (V1.2.1.3) for BCF2000 & BCR2000 (94 KB)
Bugfixes:
BSOD removed when device was using USB-3 mode and Logic was started
Audio was distorted in case of heavy midi traffic
Enhancements:
in some early models of BCF2000 a switch from or to LC, BC or MC Mode causes the device to not work correctly if the user does not wait at least 7 seconds after switching off the device before switching it on again. A system message will now pop up saying : “The I/O device is configured incorrectly or the configuration parameters to the driver are incorrect.” In that case just click that box, switch off the BCF2000 wait for at least 7 seconds and switch it on again.
The DLL was removed.

  • Wrong 5.1 speaker mapping with X-fi on Win7 x64

    /Wrong 5. speaker mapping with X-fi on Win7 x64?Hi,
I got the X-fi Platinum connected to my Onkyo SR605 receiver. Digital (spdif) connection works fine, but the analogue 5. setup not.
When I test the speakers in the Console, I only get sound from the front speakers (LF, C, RF), and no sound from the 2 back speakers (LR, RR). (I got no sub connected).
However, when I select 7. speaker setup instead of 5. in the console, the left and right side speakers which are added give sound when click the icon for testing. Now this sound comes from the back speakers (LR, RR)!
I want this sound coming from the rear speakers with the 5. setup selected, and not with 7..
It looks like somehow the software is outputting the wrong channels...
All cables are connected the right way, and I don't want to change the speaker connections on my receiver (which supports 7.). That would mess up the spdif DTS bitstream out, which is working fine. The problem is in the x-fi configuration.
Is it somehow possible to "re-map" the speakers in the software, so that I can just setup the x-fi as 5. WITH sound from my rear speakers?
I got the latest Creative drivers installed, on a Windows 7 x64 system.

When setting up the speakers in Media Center, here's all it asks, step by step:
Select number of speakers (radio button choice of 2 speakers, 5. speakers [which I have selected], and 7. speakers)
    Hit next
What type of cable connects PC to speakers/receiver? Single mini-plug [analog](which is what I have selected, since I'm connected through a green, black, and orange miniplug [6 channel direct]), dual RCA [analog], single RCA [digital], Toslink [digital], or Built-in [laptop]
    Hit next
Audio test. It plays 6 tones, they're supposed to hop from speaker to speaker and finally to subwoofer. Only the front center, front left, and rear right play any kind of sound during the Media Center Audio Test. Front Right and Rear Left get nothing at all.
Ok, I tried messing with other settings. I noticed in the THX setup console, I have it plugged in exactly as illustrated (orange plug in port closest to AD_LINK, black in the middle, green on the end), and had it plugged in the same way on my Z-5500 receiver (color coded). I unplugged every speaker except the Center speaker, and I clicked the center speaker in the illustration, and didn't get a sound. When I clicked Front left, the Front Left voice came out of the center speaker, being the only speaker that's plugged in.
What do I have to do to make it designate the correct speakers to the correct locatons?
Is there some kind of codec I'm supposed to be using in order for 5. to work correctly? Because at the moment I only have the center speaker plugged in to the subwoofer's center speaker connector, and the orange minijack from the orange receiver port to the correct port on the X-Fi as illustrated in the THX Setup Console, and it's only playing Front Left's sound. Is there a codec I'm supposed to be using, and if so, where do I get it'sMessage Edited by Guanthwei on 0-29-2006 02:3 PM

  • Another Issue to Add under Win7 x64

Having upgraded from Vista x64 to Win7 x64 siz days ago, all went smooth with Adobe products (there was no re-install of Adobe's products), but for some issues with Photoshop 64.
While working on a large image (more than 1GB in size) using the 64 bit version of Photoshop, I ran into a number of niggley problems as follows:
The clone would not pick up on newly selected targets
Colors changed when viewing the file at full size (it was a 160inch x 86inch size), i.e. reds turned green
Attempting to change from a RGB color format to CMYK, it performed the task, but did not show it as this was happening.  Due to being blind I opened the 32 bit version where everything worked correctly and it was not until checking the folder with explorer that I saw the 64 bit version had done the job.  Needles to say, I am leary of using it's converted file.
Both the 32 and 64 bit version flicker when loading from Bridge, but not when loading as a standalone.
Of interest, with the exeption of OnOne, where the UAC has to be turned off and the system restarted before it would load, all other plug-ins seem to work OK.
I'm not complaining, just sharing my findings in the hope it helps getting these issues remedied.
If anyone has found solutions to the above, I'd love to hear from you.
    Cheers,
    Michael

Your system looks great. I have two 300 gig velociraptor running just sata. I don't run RAID
I don't see where anything could be causing the issues in your system
Here is a windows 7 tweaking guide I used. Pay attention to the magnifier option (second one down). It might hold a clue for you. I don't know if it not playing well with CS4 (or not a issue at all). Just interesting.
Anyways, there are a lot of tweaks that I used to speed Windows 7 up. There are a lot of others on the net too.

no problems with ie or firefox ... any ideas what could the problem be?

By root, I am referring to the part of your hard drive where the Mac OS is installed.  I am using Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, and when looking at the finder window, on the left hand side under "Devices" your primary hard drive should be listed (with a picture that looks like a hard drive and a name).   When you single click on this hard drive you should see some files and folders.  This is what I refer to as the "root" directory.   At this point, you should see a folder named "library".  If you open up the library folder you should find another folder named InputManagers.  If you have Inquisitor for Safari installed on my Mac, then when you open up this InputManagers folder, you should find a file or folder named "Inquisitor".  Drag this to the trash and your issues with Safari (as described above) should be fixed.
This has worked for me.  And the new Safari is behaving better regarding launching new windows from the search bar.
    Hope this has helped

  • Crashes with Premiere CS4 under Win7 32Bit

Hello, since a few months, I work with Premiere Pro CS4 4.2.1 on an ASUS based PC (Striker II Mainboard 4 Cores and 4 GB RAM). I also use an external Video RAID 0, connected via a eSata controller card. All application like Photoshop and Aftereffects run correctly and stable. When I cut videos on Premiere Pro in HD or SD, I often have undefined crashes with Premiere Pro CS4. Sometimes the application quits itself, sometimes I get no response from the GUI, or while Rendering a message appears that the is no enough systemspace. I have Terabytes Spaces and I can't imagine that this should be the problem. The mediacache is also routed to the video drive. Those crashes happens 7 times or more a day. I tried several codecs and it makes no different whether I use the connected Blackmagic Design Eclipse Interface or not.
With Driver Genius Pro I searched for the latest mainboard and graphic drivers, but without any changes in result. Do you have expirience with Win7 32bit and ASUS Striker II Maninboard. Is it a good idea to buy a new 64 Bit PC and an upgrade to CS5? May this solve hanging problems? What could be the reason for Instability?
    Thanks for answers.
    Sincerely
    André

    André,
I cannot address your MoBo question, but have some articles that might offer a few tips. The first ARTICLE is on setting up one's computer for a video editing session, one of the most intense operations that one can subject a computer to. For Win7, please look down to the last addenda, as there is a Win7 specific link to Black Viper's page.
The next ARTICLE is on finding clues as to what is happening, when the program crashes or hangs.
The last ARTICLE is a link to general troubleshooting tips for PrPro.
With Driver Genius Pro I searched for the latest mainboard and graphic drivers, but without any changes in result.
I'd take this one step further, regarding your video card's driver. Note the exact card that you have, its driver info, and go to the mfgr's. site. Find the very latest driver, and compare with what you have installed. Too many of those all-in-one updaters will stop far short of getting the very latest driver. I have seen systems, using similar, where the video driver was 3 years old, and showing as "most recent." For nVidia, or ATI/AMD, that will be ~ 30 driver versions behind.
Just some thoughts, and good luck,
    Hunt

  • M-Audio i-Control with Logic 7.2 vs. Behringer BCF2000 with Logic 6

I am just about to set up Logic Pro 6 after using Cubase CE for a while. I have also been investigating control surfaces. I heard from Apple and M-Audio that Logic Pro 7.2 now supports the i-Control control surface. I am debating the benefits of upgrading to 7.2 and getting the i-Control vs sticking with 6 and buying the BCF2000.
What recommendations do you have? Do the layouts of 7.2 and the i-Control enhance each other like Garage Band and the i-control do (I have never used Garage Band). How well do Logic and the BCF2000 integrate?
Thanks for any comments or recommendations.

    Joe,
I've got the BCF2000, and got it for the primary reasons of tactile control via fader. Moterized is a cool feature. I've had it for over a year now and used it w/Logic 6.4.3, and now 7.1.1. Seeing that it lacks the LCD display (like the Logic or Mackie) which shows the parameters of the channel I bought this third pary app called LCXView that displays exactly like the LCD would, but i've since stopped using it because it started getting in the way to have Logic recognize the BCF on launch (once I jumped over to 7). The BCF needs to be booted in LC mode (Logic Control), as mine is by default.
The BCF doesn't have a shuttle control, which I would have liked. Eventually, I'll probably get a Mackie on the used market. Basically, the BCF get's the job done. Apple doesn't mention the unit in the manuals as supported, but by virtue of the fact that the BCF is in Logic Control emulation mode, it is supported.

  • Sound suddenly stops under Win7 x64

Anyone else with the problem that after some uptime with Win 7 x64 the soundcard suddenly stops working?
I watch a movie or play a game and boom, no sound. I have to switch to gaming mode, switch back to entertainment mode and in most of the cases the sound is back. This does not happen if the computer is on for ony just minutes, but the chance for this to happen ist mostly after some hours.
I tried the official creative 2.8.003 drivers as well as the Daniel_K Forte . drivers.

' Same here, 2.8.003, SB0467. I'm running a 5. analog setup and several times since I installed the card last week, the sound would stop coming out of the 3 front speakers, and only come out of the rear until I either restarted the PC or switch the modes.
I dual boot windows 7 RTM x64 and Vista x64 and it has happened on both of them.

  • Will the late 2013 Mac Pro boot from an external drive (4Tb, USB 3) with a cloned Win7 x64 partition on it?

    Hello all,
I ordered a CTO Mac Pro for heavy rendering and animating work, and I am planning on using bootcamp to install a windows partition (for 3DsMax). As I am now using a HP Elitebook 8770W that has several valuable files and projects on it, I have bought a Seagate 4Tb external Desktop Drive that uses USB 3.0 to use as a backup drive. Now, as I saw that Bootcamp Assistant only supports installing a x64 version of Windows 8, my question is:
Will a late 2013 Mac Pro using bootcamp assistant boot from an external USB drive with a cloned partition running x64 win7? Or do I really have to buy Windows 8 and install that to my internal SSD, and then use the migration assistant to copy over my projects?
    Thanks!

Posted? or found in new builds?
BCA should really just pull whatever the latest drivers are when run.
If it is with how it partitions and sets up nMP and its partition for Windows that is another matter and makes sense.
Some people want UEFI native booting in Windows, and my experieince with that on PCs has been that it boots faster and runs well, but has different partitions that it wants. For one thing, there is now a backup "system reserved" partition, just as Apple GUID has some volume information blocks and backup and areas that were once optional (and if format erase was not able to, it would not create one) are now mandatory.
Windows 8.1 is req'd, reason a backup should be a big must - is it might overwrite and use another OS's  partition table entries.  Especially when doing UEFI install.
There was something about which linux OS was safe and how they would each add entries in the table, but one would not place nice.  That one had to be done first or not at all.

  • 32-bit ODAC 11.2.0.2.1 Installed on Win7 X64 with Oracle 11gR2 x64

I have Visual Studio 2010 x64 installed on a Win7 x64 Enterprise system, along with Oracle Express Edition 11gR2 x64. I downloaded and installed 32-bit ODAC 11.2.0.2.1 so I could use Oracle databases with Visual Studio, along with SQL Server.
When I tried to run InstallAllOracleASPNETProviders.sql in SqlExplorer, I got an error
    D:\app\PaulK\product\11.2.0\client_1\ocijdbc11.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform. Vendor code 0.
Everything was working fine before I installed ODAC 11.2.0.2.1.
I've seen references to a beta x64 version of ODAC. Where do I find it? Do I have to uninstall the 32-bit ODAC first? Will uninstalling the 32-bit ODAC fix SqlExplorer?
    Thanks.

I downloaded and installed 32-bit ODAC 11.2.0.2.1 so I could use Oracle databases with Visual Studio, along with SQL Server.Since VS is a 32-bit app (though it can run on 64-bit OS and produce 64-bit binaries), it needs 32-bit libraries, yes.
Is MS SQL Server instance a 32-bit or a 64-bit install? Perhaps both 32-bit and 64-bit clients are needed for planned setup.
D:\app\PaulK\product\11.2.0\client_1\ocijdbc11.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform. Vendor code 0.It seems you are running SQL Developer on a 64-bit java machine. The 64-bit jvm obviously can't load a 32-bit dll, which I'm guessing was found via the 32-bit ODAC's PATH entry. Entry was listed first since Client/ODAC was installed last. Did you use Connection type TNS in SQL Developer? (Or Use OCI/Thick driver ticked in the database / advanced options, in Preferences.)
What's the version of SQL Developer?
Everything was working fine before I installed ODAC 11.2.0.2.1.If I'm correct in various assumptions, you have to cater for different environments/requirements.
E.g to run SQL Developer with correct set of libs.
set PATH=<path to libraries for sql developer/jvm>;<remaining PATH stuff>
    x:\some\path\here\sqldeveloper.exe
Another way could be to use Instant Client and drop required lib files (.dll) in proper location within SQL Developer home. (So that it will find proper dlls directly in "cwd" instead of searching via PATH.)
I've seen references to a beta x64 version of ODAC. Where do I find it? There are both production and beta releases.

Ok, I just built my first computer and am trying to set up win7 x64 on my 120g SSD while running two 2 TB wd hard drives in raid 1.  I have tried everything and am at wits end!  please help
i set up raid in the bios, then set up a LD with the two 2 TB hard drives however when I go to install win7 it says its missing a driver and wont proceed.

If the SSD is connected to a SATA-3 port you may need drivers to make Windows know about it.
Same for the RAID, but that one can be loaded after Windows is installed.

  • Interlacing in capture from miniDV now occurs with upgrade to Win7 x64

    Hi there...
this is my first attempt to post a question on the forum, so thankyou in advance for any help or advice.
I used to run Prem Pro CS4 on a Windows XP (32bit) system with no problems at all.
I since upgraded my OS to Win7 x64 and a perculiar thing happened - when capturing from MiniDV the capture preview is very interlaced -with camera motion.  With capture complete and clips placed in the timeline, the interlacing is not at all evident. - it is only apparent at the capture stage.
Thinking it was my Nvidia 8600GT graphics card, I upgraded to Nvidia 9800GT (1GB) - still the same problem.  RAM was also give an upgrade to 8GB.
I understand the concept behind interlacing  - what has me puzzled is why with win7 this capture interlacing has happened and for the sake of clarity would love to have it rectified.
Otherwise Premiere runs smooth as silk.
Any thoughts or advide would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers

  • Stability problems with Win7 x64 and Boot Camp 3.1...

Before I was running win 7 with Boot Camp 3.0 and On top of that I installed my Chipset and Graphics from Nvidias Website. System was running without any major problems.
Now I have win7 and BootCamp 3.1 and the laptop runs like crap... System freezes sometimes only for a minute most of the time I need to hold power button.
The last time I has ScanDisk start on me and start checking. it found about 200 missing files some unindexed and MFT bitmap was repaired...
Do not know why, I'm unable to figure out what was causing that.
Currently I have win7 x86 with bootcamp 3.1 installed and The system works good.
I think there is an issue with the 3.1 x64 driver package.
If anyone has any Ideas on what I can do to figure out why the system runs so unpredictable with 3.1 x64 drivers installed. I'm whiling to experiment and reinstall win7 x64 as many times as needed so i can send an error report to apple to get this issue fixed.

Wow, i've been running windows 7 64 bit in boot camp since I got my copy as a beta tester in July and never had any issues like you're describing. Boot camp 3.0 worked fine (other than the light in the audio port and minimal touchpad control, and the still present inability to dim the screen dynamically based on brightness around me). And I've had no problems with boot camp 3.1 so far. In the previous BC versions, I went to the nvidia site and downloaded whatever the current driver was for the video, but nothing specific for the chipset. With 3.1 I haven't done even that, just using what the boot camp update installed. Have you tried it with just the BC 3.1 drivers, not getting anything extra from Nvidia or anyone, just to see what happens from that point first?
About the only time I had any issues with diskchecking is when I accidentally close fusion and it abends my windows session. I make a point then of booting and telling it to ignore the disk check, editing the registry to reset the flag so it doesn't do it, then just run a disk check from within windows telling it NOT to fix anything, so that it can verify it's clean. I found the normal disk check in the preboot environment is horrendous on the MBP, takes me literally hours to run through despite it never finding anything to fix.

  • Firefox 6.0.1 causes extreme problems with ATI Catalyst 10.x drivers on a Win7 x64 system. When I roll back to Firefox 6.0, no problems. Can this be resolved?

Firefox 6.0.1 causes extreme problems with ATI Catalyst 10.x drivers on a Win7 x64 system. Took me quite awhile to identify, but when I roll back to Firefox 6.0, no problems. Once Firefox recognizes this and reinstalls the 6.0.1 update then severe display driver problems occur causing very erratic display behavior and ultimately rendering the system inoperative. The problem appears to occur within a minute or two after Firefox has been opened and it occurs even if Firefox has been subsequently closed prior to the actual event taking place. I have attempted this 6 times just to ensure that the problem was associated with the 6.0.1 update.

  • Z87-G45 Gaming not able to install Win7 x64 with Samsung 840 EVO

    I have a brand new:
    i5 4570
    MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
    250GB Samsung 840 EVO
    1x 8GB Corsair ValueRam DDR3 1600
I got everything hooked up properly, but I am not able to install Win7 x64 through an USB pen drive (Kingston Datatravel 32GB USB3) I have a proper  official and Legit MSDN ISO, formatted by the Win7 USB tool from MS itself.
Note that i do not have an optical device (DVD) installed so I cannot use it 'the old way'.
Bios settings are okay, everything is recognized
    USB Legacy - Kingston Datatraveler
HDD Legacy - Samsung 840 EVO
Win7 setup loads properly; but before I can select the Harddrive / SSD to install Win7 on I get prompted that additional (3rd party) drivers are needed to proceed. The volume is not recognized. This happens 9 out of 10 times. In the 10% cases I do get the option to format the SSD and/or create partitions. However, installation fails after all, cannot load or find file ...
    What I've tried so far:
Switch out the SATA cables and power cables
Switch through the various SATA ports on the MB 1 through 6
Tried UEFI and UEFI/Legacy (UEFI doesn't seem to work at all)
    Update UEFI to V 1.50
All the above result in the case mentioned.
I have succesfully installed the SSD in an other PC, using the same pen drive and ISO and it worked like a charme, thus ruling out that the SSD, pen drive or image is corrupt.
Even when I switched out the SSD after Win7 setup has succesfully copied, unpacked and installed all the files (doing this on the other machine where it works like a charm). Then switching it to the MSI Z87...it fails; starting the setup procedure right from the start, like nothing was ever written on the SSD...
Finally i turned to Win8, and guess what, it installed without any glitches on the MSI Z87
What am I missing here, I would really want to install Win7 instead of Win8
Forgot to enable / disable something in the UEFI? I really don't know, google doesn't give much information on this specific problem (SSD is recognized properly by the BIOS / UEFI as far as I can tell)
The only thing I have not tried out so far is updating the Samsung SSD firmware to the 1.0 version which has been release 3 days ago...
    Any clues, tips, hunches??

Did you disable Secure Boot in the BIOS? If not, then Win7 won't load.
Hmmm not sure, thanks for the reply, will have to look into that later today!
I didn't change it from the default setting I think, unless it is part of the Win8 features in the UEFI. All where disabled by default, and I kept them disabled.
Where is Secure Boot listed in the UEFI, and any idea wether it is enabled by default?
    ::EDIT::
Found it in some screenshots, I cannot recall from the top of my head wether it was enabled or disabled, allthough my gutt feeling says it already is disabled.
