Beige G3 All of a sudden won't boot up

Hi all! Haven't been browsing the Beige G3 board in awhile since I got a G4 a couple of months ago. But I now have a problem that I hope someone can give me some ideas on.
When I got the G4, I made the G3 strictly an OS 9.2.2 machine and used it for recording my cassette tapes to the RCA plugs in back of machine. Then transfered the music over my network to the G4 for cleanup and putting in my iTunes. Worked great.
Here's where I ran into trouble. I had two drives in the G3. The master was a 8g and the slave was a 4g. I recorded the music onto the 4 g. I got the bright idea to switch out the 4g HD with a 13g. At the same time, I switched out the cable with a new one and took out the ATI MacEdition7000pci card and the USB/Firewire card to put in my G4. I booted up the G3 and it sounded like everything was booting up fine. But its not! I'm not getting any video. The Apple 15AV monitor was connected to the OnBoard video card all this time.
I have moved everything back to the way I had it before I got my wonderful idea but still nothing. I have checked all my connections to make sure everything was snug. Still nothing. The power light goes on. Things sound like their booting up but no video. I'm reasonably sure that the HD isn't booting up either because I can't connect with my G4 to the G3 over my network.
Anybody have any ideas why I can't get my trusty Beige to work? I sure would appreciate it! Thanks!

I'd like to add a few thoughts here, since I've experienced similar problems with my Beige.
Usually, either a failed install of OSX (those requiring XPF) or a switch to a new hard drive would result in a black screen upon startup. The computer would fire up, green light on monitor would come on then go off to orange. A boot to OS9 would require holding down the Apple-C keys or sometimes the option-C combination. The computer would exhibit the same symptoms, but continuing to hold down the combination of keys would get the monitor to switch from orange back to green and fire up (this takes about 1min, sometimes a bit longer).
Often, I could not get the CD drive to respond either. First, I'd check that the cable in the back of the drive is completely pushed in. If that wasn't the problem, then one way around this was to unplug the hard drive and force the computer to boot from the CD. Sometimes this required holding the option-C or Apple-C keys.
Doing an nvram-reset usually gets this situation (both the hard drive and the CD issues) to go away.
Reformatting the drive with a new install of OS9, XPF and OSX got rid of the problems.

OS-X suddenly won't boot

OS-X suddenly won't boot on a G3 desktop w/ 4.0 Gb hard drive with ~380 Mb free space. The boot screen comes up and the "pinwheel" spins forever. I ran Disk First Aid from the OS-X Install disk, and Verify reports the following errors:
Missing thread record (id=10180)
Invalid sibling link
Repair reports the same errors and runs to completion, but doesn't fix the problem. I've run Repair several times with same results.
Just before all this, Safari wouldn't launch. Shut the machine down to reboot and now this.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

OK, so I went out and bought Disk Warrior. The machine will NOT boot from the CD. When I start up holding the C key down, it seems to try booting system 9 off the hard drive, but then it goes into an endless cycle of reboots. Continuing to hold the C key down simply causes repeated reboots; it never gets beyond the Happy Mac icon.
I have also tried holding OPT-CMD-SHIFT-DELETE, but I just get the floppy icon with the flashing question mark. If I release those keys, it attempts and fails to boot 9 off the HD, then tries X and hangs as described in my first post.
The machine WILL read an OS-X Install CD (actually, several) and WILL boot up normally from a System 9 Install CD. So the CD-ROM drive appears to be OK.
I've loaded the Disk Warrior CD into another machine and it looks fine.
I'm completely stuck. Any thoughts? Thanks again in advance.

The MBA seems to cause several problems to several users on boot ups
On start up my MBA would not boot up the apple logo came on but only a blank screen appeared no fan i followed several start up recommendations but to no avail so I took the MBA to the nearest Apple repair centre again the same symptoms on start up ......very sorry sir you need a new mother board that will be $500 not feeling confidant in the product declined and was going to put it on ebay for spares.
On return home I pressed the start up button and it started normally everything was working fine i decided to reinstall all the software what has caused the problem I have no idea but it is after several attempted reboots it finally started on its own so don't give up if you have this problem it may come to life

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW. If none of these steps solves your problem, you probably have a hardware issue and will need to bring the phone to Apple.

ITunes all of a sudden won't sync non-purchased songs

Title says it all, other day updated to 7.0.3. Sync wouldn't update the 3 new cd's I had added and furthermore, those artists that the cd's belonged to wouldn't play. Meaning any previous song by those artists on my phone also wouldn't play.
7.0.4 fixed nothing infact it just straight up removed all my non-purchased songs off my phone. iTunes claims there's 1,000 songs on my iPhone but only the 200ish I've purchased show up. If I go to "on this phone" it shows nearly every song with a grey circle next to it.
This is ridiculous.

Forgot to add also, all the purchased songs on my phone have the cloud/download button so technically they aren't even there either. Would have to go through and download all of those as well.
iTunes keeps just randomly changing how much space is available. It goes from what it should be (2.5ish GB) down to 8 GB free, all of a sudden will jump to only 500 MB free. Dunno if that is screwing with the Sync, phone things it has no room to add the songs.

IBook G4 suddenly won't boot past the "booting OSX" screen.

My iBook G4 suddenly died and now won't boot past the "Starting OSX" screen. The blue bar goes all the way across but never moves to the next screen. I have my original disks, containing OS 10.4.5. I am trying to boot from the disk, but just keep getting the Installer program. When I try to choose a startup disk, it still won't start. Any help or ideas? This is urgent.
BTW, I am a photographer and was workig in PhotoShop7 -- a program I use all day, every day.

Start from the install disc again and choose Disk Utility from the menu. Highlight the drive on the left and click Repair Disk. If it reports errors and repairs made, repeat the process until no errors are reported.

IMac turned off suddenly, won't boot from hard drive/CD drive

Hi guys.
Here is what I have:
27" iMac with:
Core i5 2.7
4GB RAM
Mountain Lion
Win7 on Bootcamp
Lion is installed, but I have the Snow Leopard install disc.
The system had just been recently reformatted so there wasn't really much on the computer itself other than an update to Mountain Lion and a Win7 install via Bootcamp. Other than that, nothing was recentlly installed.
What happenes is I was browsing and all of a sudden it completely shut down. No warning, nothing. Completely shuts down.
Okay.. weird... but when I try to load Mac back up, the Apple logo appears and then after a while of supposedly loading, the screen goes to a plain white screen until I force the computer off. Something similar happens when tryin gto boot into Windows: I get to the "Starting Windows" screen but after that everything goes black and I have to shut down manually.
Great. Now I'll just go into recovery and fix all of this right? Wrong. Can't boot into recovery either. Similar end result: white screen.
Last thing I tried is reinstall OS X Snow Leopard. After loading for about 1-2 minutes, the usual white screen appears after trying to boot from the disc.
I am at a loss. I don't think its the hard drive, because the problem occurs even when trying to boot from the disc. My suspicion is the RAM has gone bad. But, before I go the hardware route, is there any suggestions or recommendations anyone could make first?
In advance, I really appreciate anyone who replies and tries to help.

I had the EXACT problem today. EXACT. Discs wouldn't boot, I did get the application disc to run the AHT but it said all was fine.
I called my buddy who said something about unplugging for a minute then holding power button while plugging the power supply back in. I thought it would be futile since we already did all the SMC reset procedures to no avail, PRAM reset didn't do anything, etc, etc... But what do you know, up pops the disc utility and my iMac is now restoring from time machine. It's not done yet, so I can't say it worked... BUT it's the farthest we got tonight. Could not get disc utility up via CMD-R or OPTION keys... but powering down, unplugging for a minute or so, then holding power button while plugging the power supply back in did the trick. Hope this helps!

my board just won't boot
i've removed everything except those necessary parts to boot it(proc,mem & vc)
i just noticed that everytime i switch on the avr, the fans of the proc & vc spins.
the board won't shut-off even after pressing the power button for about 10 secs
i've already tried other mems, psu, and vc
i have cleared the cmos(press the small red button to clear cmos), removed battery but still won't boot

you are not telling us what you were last doing before it went wrong, believe me that might give some clue, however
do you have the speakers connected to pc or not, if you do and if there is something wrong then you should hear series of beeps and by looking at the motherboard manual you might identify the prob, . you also say you pressed the red button but you are suppose to hold it for a while. try to hold it for at least ten second.
MSI does suggest unplug the pc, disconnect all power cables from PSU to the motherboard with no exception, then remove the memory, graphic card, and cpu, clear CMOs and hold it at least ten second (pref 20 sec). test those item on another pc if you can, reinstall, . if still prob, try the safe mode by pressing F8 then try VGA mode. you might have corrupted driver for the graphic card. five things can go wrong psu, cpu motherboard, memory, and HDD. by pressing f8 if safe mode appears then you have a reasonably good system the prob is window on HDD, try another HDD with a fresh window. keep cool and good luck

Iphone 4s 16G all of a sudden won't do imessaging

last week saturday, i noticed my iphone will not send or recieve imessages. at first, i could do regular texting. then, i could only send, but not recieve texting. I restarted numerous times and still could only send. today, i did a full restore to factory settings, restored my back up and now i can send AND recieve regular texting but still no imessages. I have piddled around in settings, turning imessaging on and off, entering my id and password as promted with constant error messages that i have a network issue. my wi fi is working fine as i am online right now, obviously. even so, i reset my network settings to factory then reconnected to my wi fi. still no difference. i deleted my number out of settings and re entered it. nothing. turned off my phone for a minute then turned it back on. nothing. piddled around with settings again. nothing. i am extremely frustrated and don't know what else to do. I have followed all the troubleshooting here in the apple website for the imessaging and nothing works. PLEASE! has anyone else had this issue and successfully resolved it?

okay people! i FINALLY got his figured out thanks to an answer on another post. go into settings and turn off your wi fi and let it connect to your 3G/4G network. restart your phone. when it comes back on, go into settings/messaging/send and recieve and you should see your number there. finally, test your texting with someone. it fixed mine right up. then reconnect to wi fi and you should be good to go!

New TV all of a sudden won't pick up 2 channels

3 TVs in house 2 old analog w/ converter 1 brand new Insignia LED ( hooked up 1 week before Christmas) All hooked up to antenna (from a coax splitter) About 1 week ago, the new TV started scrambling channel 9 and 11 (Mpls). All other channels come in perfectly. The other 2 TVs bring in 9 and 11 fine. What could have possibly changed? What's wrong?

The way digital channels are broadcast & what you see on the TV can get confusing real fast. Cosidering your hookup tho I would have to agree with NNBD, your going to need a better signal. Your antenna, especially indoor, is till suceptable to broadcast strength, weather conditions, topography and obstructions like trees, buildings, etc. New TV's require a much stronger & cleaner signal to display properly, where older TV's will simply display what they pick up. Also keep in mind each time your signal is split, you lose some and the closest TV to the split gets most of the signal unless your system is balanced.

ITunes all of a sudden won't play screen goes blank

I've seen a problem like this before. This was a solution that worked for me, as long as the songs were still visibly listed in iTunes. Select the song and check to see if the album art window says "Album Art Not Modifiable" (remember to set the album art window to "Selected Song" not "Currently Playing"). If the album art is NOT modifiable, select the songs that won't play, then go to Advanced > Convert ID3 Tags..., then click the check box next to ID3 tag version, and select the highest version, (currently v2.4).

All of a sudden won't read iPod. Dont want to uninstall iTunes!

What is the "it" you are talking about? If you do not want music loss, why don't you have a back up?

Enter your password
Go to country/region in the popup window to change the store
