Being ahead of the game

First and Foremost absolutly love my mac book pro. its been great. my only complaint is being ahead of the game. what i mean is waiting for software to cross over to be universal. right now im waiting for pro tools LE 7 Mpowerd, reason 3.0, final cut pro, photoshop etc... now like ive told all my friends i would rather be ahead of the game but honestly i would rather be in the middle of it. most of these things will be available soon, but never soon enough. really this isnt a problem with my computer rather just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up with the speed it provides. cant wait to see what this puppy can really do. well i guess this is just for all of you out there who too are waiting. good luck and hold on best you can.

hm, lets see. we can be patient and get hot new binaries as soon as the world can figure out how to code them and have our computer experience, bizarrely enough, get faster and more impressive - instead of the typical "oo its fast - to - **** i need an upgrade". you're buying the technology once instead of buying what works now, just to buy something better again soon. personally its odd to me- its almost like buying a car and not have it devalue itsself the moment i take it home.

    Read the reviews for the app and see if others have the same issue. If they do, then you know it's not just you and could be something with the app or something.

    With the help of some generous members of this forum i have completed an "Alphabet Clicking" game. There is a grid of alphabet
    movieclips which gets shuffled when the player clicks the "Start Button". Simultaneously, a count-up timer is trigerred. Depending
    on the initial choice of incentive made by the player before clicking the "Start Button" , the player will either win or lose the incentive
    based on the time-limit set for each incentive.
    Eg., if the player chooses an incentive of 10 $ the player may have 90 seconds to complete the game. If 50 $, then the player gets
    only 20 seconds, and so on.... To make the game more thrilling and exciting, i wanted to add an additional functionality for a
    very high incentive, like for example, if the player chooses an incentive of 100 $, not only that the player gets just 20 seconds
    to complete the clicks, but the Grids will automatically get shuffled at every 5 second interval.The code that i am using (as guided
    by kglad of this forum) is as given below. Its a perfect code, but like i said, i wish to know how to add yet one more
    functionality [eg. repeated shuffle at set intervals] to this code. I tried using (a) conditional statements or (b) running the shuffle code
    inside a timer etc., but they dont seem to work.

    The only way your child could have installed an app from the App Store is that he or she has access to your Apple ID and your administrator account. Give the child his own standard user account, and change the passwords.
    To delete the downloaded app, drag it to the Trash. You may be prompted for your password.

  • Why is it that when I play a game with a moving character, the game freezes up for a second when I move the character? This happens everytime I move them.

    This freezing problem that I am having only happens when there is a moving character in the game. For example, when I hit the left arrow to move them left, the game, in a way, skips the action, and then jumps ahead to after the character has moved. I am not sure whether that would be freezing up or just skipping. I have updated all of my plugins, and I do not know what else to try.

    Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
    You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
    *Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
    *In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
    *In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    *Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

    Most of the games on my iPod classic 4g will not play anymore. I get a message that is of no help and when i synced the games they disappeared. What is going on and where have the games for iPods on iTunes gone ?

    Apple removed the clickwheel games from the iTunes Store back in September. 
    Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod to see if that helps resolve the issue of not being able to play the games?  To do this, first make sure the Hold Switch is in the OFF position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

    I am having the same problem with Treasure Island and PetVille. When I click on the "Play" tab on both of them, I get a blank blue screen; however, I have no problem playing any other games like Sorority Life. So why is the new version of Firefox having an issue supporting Zynga games and Internet Explorer isn't? Would reinstalling an older version of Firefox fix it, and where can you get an older version to download?

    Maybe in hardware the Touch is better but you have to accept that when it comes to software ipods are a much better solution, plus also in the aviability of accesories ipod also wins by far. I own a Touch 40GB and I have been unable to find a decent cover for it, the FM Wired Remote is nowhere to be found, not being able to access the Touch like a dri've letter and having to install drivers in every PC that you want to use it is really annoying. Although this is relati've to who is hearing the music I do think the touch sounds better than the ipod, but not having some simple audio features like bass, trebel etc. is also something that I regret not having in the touch (the EQ is not that good in my opinion). And althogh I don't realy care about these extra features like the sleep, alarm, calendar, games, some users would apreciate this features. Maybe if you could merge the micro with the touch you could argue about it being better than the ipod. But sadly enough the micro doesn't have the storage capacity the the Touch has which for me is also very important.     The problem i am facing is :
    the FIRE button is not functioning, i put a system.out.println and it didnt print.
    i am unsure whether i put the key input listener at the correct function
    this button is supposed to start the game again.
    What i want to do :
    i want to display the main menu when i launched the game
    when game is over, it will display back to the main menu again
    when i press the fire button it will play the game again.
    i hope someone can help me on this     Step through the program and think about what each line is doing. Most importantly:
        public void run() {
            while (!gameOverState){
                update();
                draw(getGraphics());
                try{
                    Thread.sleep(frameDelay);
                }catch(InterruptedException ie){}
            gotoMainMenu(getGraphics());
        }This says that while the game is being played, update( ), then draw( ). When the game is over, call gotoMainMenu( ).

        }This says to do a bunch of graphics stuff, and then to check the key states. If fire is being pressed, print something out and set gameOverState to false. This check only happens once. When the state is being checked, most likely the user will not be pressing any keys, so the code is done.
    Also, simply setting the gameOverState variable to false outside of the loop you use it in won't do anything. For example:
    boolean doLoop = true;
    int count = 0;
    while(doLoop){
       count++;
       if(count > 10){
          doLoop = false;
    doLoop = true;Would you expect that second doLoop = true to start the while loop over?

  • Would like to know the name of the game pre-installed on an eMac.

    I would like to know the name of the space ship 3rd-person shooter game pre-installed on an eMac.
    Awhile back, I had used an eMac with a previous employer and there was a space ship 3rd-person shooter game loaded on the eMac.
    This may or may not have been preinstalled. I just remember it being there when the eMac was purchased.
