Being asked for billing info even though I have gift card money.
This morning, I tried to buy a song on itunes and I got a message about billing info and a credit card that is about to expire. I thought it was strange because I have gift card money on itunes right now and I don't know why I was being asked to provide that information. So, as of now, I can't buy ANYTHING without that message popping up! HELP!
They verify the account and information using the cc.
It should still take the money out of the gift card, but you will very likely need to enter the information.

AaroniCloud backs up your iOS device (not your Mac) automatically. You can remove the backup:

and it will not back up again. This will not affect a backup made using iTunes. The notice you see refers to calendars, contacts, iWork documents and so on, which live on the server and are read from there by your Mac, and so will obviously disappear if you turn iCloud off altogether (which you don't need to do) or turn off Documents (which you don't need to do either). -

Apps are always associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. This cannot be changed. To avoid getting the request you are seeing delete all apps that request the former Apple ID and download them again.
Any apps for which you paid a fee will require that you purchase them again. -

Open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and in the Quick Links sign into your account. See if the Mountain Lion purchase is among hidden apps in the iCloud area of your account info.

Credit balances do not expire. First, make sure you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account ID and password you set up, or used, when you redeemed your cards. If you are, try signing out of the account and back in.
If you're sure you are using the correct account and that you're signing in to the iTunes Store, and signing out and back in doesn't help, go to the Purchase History and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have a balance left. iTunes doesn't always refresh the balance it shows, so it's possible you spent the money and it just wasn't being reflected in the display, thought it would be unlikely that you spent the entire balance unless you have a credit card on file as well.
If you confirm that you should have balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, go here:
iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I am trying to open pptx files on my MacBook Pro and continue to get "No Text Converter is installed for this application" even though I have dowloaded several converters that were supposed to work and I just downloaded Apache Open Office 3.4.1 with no luck. I am able to open docx files with the converters I have installed but not pptx files.

I would trash - iMovie pref file - and re-try - sounds like this got faulty.
• Delete iMovie pref. file. iMovie pref. file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD) / Users / "Your account" / Library / Preferences
and is named. (one or more of these)
com.apple.iMovie.plist
com.apple.iMovie3.plist
com.apple.iMovie7.plist
com.apple.iMovie8.plist
com.apple.iMovie9.plist
com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
and find
com.apple.iApps.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter:
chflags nohidden ~/Library (exactly like this - space included)
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )

ShivIs this a clean install or an upgrade? 20 GB, though greater than the minimum, is pretty minimal. How much memory do you have on the system? 2008 would try to create a page file of 1.5x physical memory, so if you are building on a large
memory system, you could be having an issue there.

Decline of credit card even though using iTunes gift card
Whether I am using my iPod touch to purchase something from iTunes or my computer I keep getting the message that my card has been declined and need to use an alternate. This would be fine if that were truly the case, but I have a $15 account credit from my iTunes gift card and my purchases don't exceed .99! My iPod keeps wanting me to verify my billing info even though I want free apps and iTunes tells me the same thing or that it has timed out. I don't understand the issue and why it is starting all of a sudden. Please help because I am deployed to Iraq right now and am in desperate need of new apps and music!! Thank you
Due to recent security issues and identify theft (mostly due to phishing scams), the iTunes Store seems to be requiring more frequent verification of credit card information when a card is registered in your account, even if you have a balance from a prepaid card. Your best option at this point may be to go into the Payment information in your account and set the payment method to "none" which should then stop the requirements for verification or a different card, though there can be glitches when attempting to use the iTunes Store from outside the country.
