Being redirected, Blank pages opening

Earlier today I was assisted with a wireless router problem by Verizon Tech Support. Now everytime I choose a website to browse I am redirected to unwanted sites and occasionally blank pages begin to open. The quicker I close the blank pages, the faster the next ones open!!!! Any suggestions????

@Gorilla: Yeah sounds like you have some type of malware/virus on your computer. Check out the software that Jose suggested. Also if you don't have antivirus software a great free program is AVG Free Antivirus.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I had the same problem, in fact, I'm one of the people who clicked, "I have this problem, too!"
I used to have blank tabs when I would open them, but I downloaded some shady software that I didn't know had add-ons! I tried the "about:config" method and messed around with some of those things but nothing happened. After deleting and reinstalling firefox it still happened, and after doing a computer wide search of 'Ya' or 'yahoo' it came up empty. That told me it's combined with some other program or it's under a different name completely. When I would open a new tab, the url would come up something like:
www.click.1.3.yahoo.com/tab_search_000,00.03 blah blah blah. toward the end of the string though, the word "Freeze" appeared. So I went back to my control panel and looked for the word freeze in anything, even as the host site. I FOUND IT! It was some net assistant bug that downloaded off of some other software I had running. Hope this helps some of you!

When I click for a new tab this window now opens ... "chrome://nspdlmsd/content/newtab/newtab.html" - I want it to go back to being a blank page.

For the past few days now, whenever I click 'open new tab' in firefox it opens immediately at the url posted above. I did, unsuspectingly which is how they get you if you are not careful, installed MySearchDial but removed it completely through add/remove and start/search. I even have new windows opening up with content I do not like at all ... my home page is the same again, but I cannot seem to figure out how to get my new tab to open in a blank page again (btw at the bottom of this 'chrome' page there is an mysearch.com icon - I have googled 'how to remove this' with no success).
I do not use Chrome and do not have it listed as one of the operating programs on my computer. However, when I start/search "chrome" there is a complete list of files and folders that are found and I am unsure if I should delete them all since many of them appear to be directly associated with Firefox. Please - this is frustrating ... what can I do to get rid of this garbage on my computer?

The "MySearchDial" app needs to be removed in 4 places.
1) Go to "add / remove programs" in your windows control panel select mysearchdial and remove it.
2) Open your Firefox browser then click the Firefox tab at the top left and select options. You will need to change the start page settings back to your preferred start page.
3) Again under the Firefox tab select "add-ons". In the add-ons manager you will need to remove mysearchdial from both "plugins" and "extensions"
4) In your search bar (top right of address bar" use the drop down menu and select "manage search engines". You can restore your preferred search engine and remove mysearchdial from the menu.
This should remove all the components of the nuisance hijacker and restore your browser back to your preferred settings. If you are comfortable with a more in depth removal I would also suggest going to your "programs" folder within the "C" drive of your machine and deleting the "MySearchDial" folder altogether. However, only do this AFTER you have uninstalled it from your system and if you are familiar with this type of removal.

Blank page opening when trying to view the attachments in ESS Travel

When trying to view attachments section in travel request, which open a transaction iview, it is showing as blank page in one browser.
Where as when tried with same UserID/Password in another system it is workfine.
Any idea where could be the problem?

Hi Vikranth,
Yes, now we are able to slove this issue.
This is because of network issue we are getting blank screen. Earlier we user VLAN where only some IP's and Ports are allowed to access the Client network.
Now we are using VPN which resovled the issue.
Please check the network and your issue will be fixed

Blank page opens and not able to log off

Hi All,
I am using MSS. There are 2 issues.
1) One of my user has received a task in UWL. When he tries to open that he is getting a blank page. In R/3 the structure and all the things are fine.
2) Also when he clicks the log off button dialogue box prompts to select yes or no , he gave YES but still it not getting logged off.
I tried deleting cookies , temporary files and turned compatibility settings on to " "Display all websites in Compatibility View" but of no use.
Please suggest on this.

Might be some problem with browser, try accessing with the compatible browser and then check it. check the browser compability in service market place PAM. http://service.sap.com/pam
Also check the default trace log file and search for the userid

Upon startup of firefox ,within 10 seconds another blank page opens ,as if I clicked on the X

when I open firefox , within 10 seconds a second (blank) window opens up. As if I clicked on the X to open a second window. I of course did NOT click the X .

Unless you are using a proxy, the same web address should work
regardless. Disable it for now and check.

Blank page opens with my site

I am fairly new to web design and have created a website for a client http://debsgiftsandmore.com/ when the website opens a blank popup window comes up as well. I have used firebug to try to identify what is happening but I do not understand what I am looking at

I can tell you that all those apdivs are going to drive your crazy, however , take a look at this code you have in your css. Try removing it and see if that is your problem.

After a crash, when Firefox is restored, I get many blank pages opening, in addition to the correct page. It takes a while to close them all.

The new version of Firefox also seems to be crashing more than the old.

Set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes] to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.
That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen the other tabs.

Up until yesterday, I could open a new tab with a blank page. Now, every new tab opens to a bing search page and focus is in the search box. Very annoying when I begin to type a URL and have to click in the URL to continue typing. How do I get back to a blank page opening?

How do I stop Firefox from opening a blank page before my selected PDF viewer opens a pdf email attachment?

When I receive an Outlook PDF attachment and open it, Firefox starts and a blank page opens. After Firefox has opened and the blank page opens, the PDF viewer I am using opens the PDF. I have the options settings set to use Filecenter.exe as the PDF viewer. I have changed this to use adobe and the blank page still opens. I have set Firefox to be the default viewer but Firefox will not open PDFs created by certain CAD programs. I would like for this blank page to stop opening in Firefox. Does anyone have a solution to correct this problem?

Modal Page Plugin showing Blank Page.

I am using Skillbuilder modal page 2.0 in APEX 4.2.
Whenever I open the modal page, Blank page opens.
Can anyone guide me what could be the problem.
To open the modal page, I did the following steps.
1. Installed Plugin 2.0
2. From parent page I created a button. Set action to "Defined by Dynamic Action". (I also tried defining button id="CREAT_BUTTON" , Dynamic action with jQuery selector etc. as shown in sample video. But that also doesn't work.)
3. Created Dynamic action, on Click, mentioned the button and gave the path of new page to open.
4. Changed component setting for plugin, and set the theme to 1.

Your "Embed in Frames" setting was set to "Deny" under Edit Application Properties -> Security -> Browser Security.
I have set it to "Allow from same origin".
This has resolved the issue. Please test.
I suggest that you change the page template of page# 2 to "Popup". That way you can avoid application logo, navigation bar etc on the modal window.

Hi Chohan,
Can you try to open the canvas in a standalone browser and see what happens? I assume that the BSP page works if you call it directly?
Another thing I would do is run a HTTP traffic trace (using Fiddler) and see what traffic comes back. Finally I would look at the NWBC verbose trace file and see if it has any clues in it.
I have noticed that the IE control that NWBC uses to render web pages does not behave exactly like standalone IE... but I don't know much more about it (yet).

Cntrl T yields a page with yahoo rather than a blank page

When I press control T to get a new page, instead of a blank page opening, the page opens with the yahoo search bar already in place. I really do not want to use yahoo and would rather see a blank page as was the case previously. I probably dl's something that placed the search engine on the blank page and I do not know how to kill it. Some help please?

Blank pages printing... C309a

Does anyone actually have a solution for the HP printers printing blank pages instead of text? We have a C309a and for some reason it sometimes prints text, other times prints a blank page with the majority of the time it being a blank page. We have followed all instructions still with no luck. Also what is the difference between the 564 & 564XL cartridges?

I understand you're Photosmart C309a is frequently printing blank pages and that you have some questions about the ink cartridges. I will certainly do my best to assist you with this!
I will start by answering your question, what is the difference between the 564 and the 564 XL. Essentially the only difference between the two cartridges is the amount of ink they hold and the number of pages they will print (and obviously the cost). The North American HP Shopping page states that the 564 will print up to 250 pages while the 564 XL cartridge will print up to 550 pages.
For the blank pages, I would suggest following this Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages document and it should be able to help you in getting the ink flowing again.
