Belkin AV360 Converter with 27" iMac

I bought the converter online from the Apple Store and it arrived today. I installed the plug and play cords provided with the converter. I then connected HDMI cable from my Directv receiver into the converter. My problem is with the sound. The sound is barely audible and is coming from my internal speakers instead of my harman/kardon sound sticks. I increased the volume to its max position and it still remained barely audible. I tested all connections. I double checked the system sound preferences. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this problem?

Mid 2011 and later iMacs have Thunderbolt instead, which prevents you from using the iMac as an external dispaly for your PlayStation 3 or Xbox.
In the case of the Late 2009 and Mid 2010 27-inch iMacs, there's an adapter that allows you to connect the PlayStation 3 or Xbox to the iMac, but it doesn't work in iMacs with Thunderbolt ports

  • Why wont my imac 27'' not work with the Belkin AV360?

Recently bought a Imac 27'' a couple of months ago. Thought I would buy a Belkin AV360 converter to play my PS3 and XBOX through onto my Imac. Plugged it all in and it doesnt work. apparently you have to press Commmand and F2 at the same time to turn the screen onto the ps3 but that doesnt work. Does this belking ocnverter only work with older models of the Imac?

    at some point forget when
apple removed support for some firewire things in their pin30 connector which caused some older
accessories to stop working sounds like that could be what you're expeierncing

  • Help with my belkin av360 please

    mid 2010 imac 27inch
    belkin av360
    xbox360
command f2 and fn command f2 does not work please help me i have a belkin av360 and an xbox 360 set to 720p there is nothing wrong with my keyboard yet i cannot find any way to get the display to show my xbox can anyone help please

Sounds like the AV360 is faulty. Raise a support call with Belkin. Mine stopped working a few days ago and since the product has a "lifetime warranty", they should be able to replace it. They had replacement stock in Australia (where I am) but this might be hard in other parts of the world since they stopped manufacturing these in 2010 (I think). When you raise a support call, the model number is Part # F2CD007 :)

  • Can I convert an old IMAC computer with OS 9 operating system from being "dial up" to high speed?

Can anyone tell me how I can convert my old IMAC from "dial up" to go on the internet as high speed? I have an ISP provider for a more modern computer that I own, but I really would like to use my old IMAC on the internet as well? How can I make it compatible with high speed internet? If I try to go on line, the internal modem "dials up". How can I change that and cause it to communicate with my external high speed modem?

Any iMac can connect by ethernet to the router.
You'll need to disable the modem and set up the network config.
    Too long since I used OS9 to guide you on that bit; ask in the correct forum;

I check all the power cables and and connections and still not he issue. Iv'e tried C-F2 also. has anyone used this devive (AV360) on there own 27" thunderbolt display (not the imac) and gotten it to work? If so I'd appreciate the help.

There are multiple reasons that lead to issue. You should read the troubleshooting guide to get the right solution to solve the issue: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

  • Can i use a belkin wireless g router with an iMac

can i use a belkin wireless g router with an imac

It will work. The wireless card in iMacs (recent ones) work with n, g, and b networks. The g protocol is slower (54 mbs) versus n (130 mbs up to 300 mbs). My employer has hundreds of such access points and has been updating them all to n, but there are still some g routers they haven't gotten to, and they work fine. 54 mbs is not bad, it's about 5 megabytes/sec roughly. Typical actual throughput is lower than these numbers by ~ 50%, so doing a large Mac OS update download of 300 Megabytes would take about ~ 2 minutes with a g router, and maybe a bit less than 1 minute with an n router.

  • Using a 1:2 MiniDisplayport to HDMI Converter with my 2009 iMac

    Hi,
So I am thinking about purchasing 2 HDMI monitors to hook up with my iMac. I know that the iMac only has 1 MiniDisplayport so I looked and I found this:
    http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=228682340&sellerid=23413195
I was wondering if I could use this for hooking up two monitors to my mac. If I can, would it be recommended that I upgrade my memory? I currently have 4 GB of RAM.
    Thanks,
    Virgil

    Not sure, see below.
You could hook one monitor up using a mini-diplayport to HDMI adapter.
Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt® to HDMI® Adapter w/ Audio Support
    Hook the other via USB.
    USB 2.0 to HDMI® Display Adapter w/ Audio (1920 x 1080)
USB 2.0 to HDMI Audio Video 1080P Adapter for Windows and Macbook
Newer Technology USB to DVI / HDMI / VGA HD Video Display Adapter
    And lastly there's this:
    Matrox DualHead2Go
After looking at the descripton of that Apogee MDPHD2X I am not sure whther it distributes one video input to two HDMI's producing a mirrored display or fakes the EDID information like the Matrox to make your computer think it is one lage extended display.  More research is needed to verify that.

  • Can I use an imac27"(may11unit) at times as a display for a pc using Belkin AV360 adapter?

I need to use the Imac at times for a PC application (cannot use bootcamp) for work. The PC video card has hdmi out. Will a Belkin AV360 with the mini display output work and allow the imac to be used as a display?

You could always run your Windows PC as a VMware Fusion (or Parallels Desktop) virtual machine, on the Mac under Mac OS X. Then, you would not need the physical PC at all. VMware even has a utility for converting a physical machine into a virtual machine.
    http://www.vmware.com/download/fusion/importer_tool.html
And, of course, Mac OS X will always be available.

  • Belkin AV360

I've just bought a new iMac 27" but want to use it for everything. This means my ps3, and my xbox. AND, my wii. After a lot of research, it looks like the best thing is the Kanex or the Belkin AV360 HDMI-to-Mini DisplayPort Converter. Since I've established this, now I need to know how I can hook up my wii to my imac, and in the best quality. I came across this; 'VD-W3 Wii HDMI Upscaler Processor'. If I were to use this, and then use a HDMI cable to hook up to the Belkin or Kanex, would I be able to play my Wii through the iMac?

    Maybe a Kanex instead?

  • D/A converter needed for Imac to TV?

I want to watch my FCE timeline or canvass on a TV while editing so I can see if I have the color corrected appropriately. I do not have a camera or a deck. I import my film from an external hard drive on which I have old home movies from the 50s and 60s digitized so I can edit in FCE.
Can anyone tell me how to set up in a chain a D/A converter and a TV with my Imac? What kind of a D/A converter should I purchase?
I have looked a lot on this forum and don't really understand what I should do. I am not a professional at all. The technical language I read is almost impossible for me to understand.
Can someone tell me in layman's language what i should do. I would appreciate any help.
    Imac G5 Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2 500gig external LaCie Drives

A D/A converter is a box that you must connect on one side to a firewire port of your Mac (with a firewire cable) and on the other side to your TV with an analogue cable, usually with 3 different "RCA" plugs: yellow for video and red and black (or white) for audio.
After connection and a proper setup of the converter, when you play your timeline in FCE (or Print to Video) the video and audio are directed to the TV through: firewire cable -> D/A converter -> analogue cable -> TV, and you can check the final result of your editing: colors, but also possible effects of interlacing on your video, and so on.
I use my camcorder as a D/A converter (and A/D as well), and I don't need a specific box. So, while I know some converters exist at prices around couple hundred dollars, I cannot give you specific suggestions about which might be good for you.

  • I want to use my Personal Laserwriter, but it won't work with my imac

I have a personal laserwriter printer. It work great with my older mac - Performa 580CD. However when I tried setting it up with my imac - using a MacOS 9.X driver and usb-serial adaptor - it only works with OS 9.x softeware.
So I have a laser printer that I cannot use. I'd like to get it up and running for my MacBoo Pro, too. Any advice?

The personal LaserWriter NTR and the Personal LaserWriter 320 are Postscript level 2 printers that can run with the built-in Mac OS X Drivers.
What is missing is a way to make the connection to recent machines that do not have a Printer/Modem/LocalTalk port. You can use the Mac's Ethernet port to carry AppleTalk packets (in addition to the standard TCP/IP packets) and use a converter to bridge from Ethernet to LocalTalk.
Two converters are available on the used market: The Farallon EtherMac iPrint LT and the Asante Asantetalk. The Asante may also be available new, but at a cost near US$100 new, you could get a more capable used Ethernet-capable printer for the same money.
If you have an older Mac that has a Printer/Modem/LocalTalk port and an Ethernet port and is still running OS 9 or earlier, you can download a package called LocalTalk Bridge to run in the background and do the conversion.
The other Personal LaserWriters would require a bridge AND a third-party driver.

I bought a MacBook Air and wish to communicate with old iMac G5 2003-5 (sorry can't remember the year). The screen on the iMac is blank and will not come on but the hard drive still works. Can anyone tell me the cable I need to with the iMac & how to do it. I have music and photos on the iMac I cannot access.
Also, do I need to special CD/DVD external drive/burner to import music CD's into iTunes? I have tried and it keeps coming up with formatting problems.

i tried to get the installation disc for the camcorder but mac wont' recognize it becaue it is windows based i guess.
i just bought the camcorder a few months ago and when my computer crashed thought i'm finally getting a mac...it's been a costly venture which has resulted in more frustration than before my pc.
now the things i want to use with my mac that i thought would be even simpler...are not even useable...
    help

That camera shoots H.264 in an .avi wrapper.
You will have to transfer the files via the Finder.
Get a free copy of MPEG Streamclip and convert them to QuickTime .mov using the H.264 codec if you are presumably editing in iMovie.
Note that your list of video codecs won't look like mine as I have Final Cut Pro, but H.264 is definitely an option for you.

  • Use 23" apple monitor as second monitor with 27" imac

I've just bought a 27" imac, and I want to connect the 23" apple monitor from my old system to it as a second monitor.
The 23" has a huge cable with firewire and usb connectors as well as a multipin connector. How can I link it up?

    Hello,
I have seen people use the expensive DVI-ADC converter with an MDP-> DVI cable.
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Mac-A1006-DVI-to-ADC-Converter-LCD-Display-Adapter -w-Power-Cord-/330799049978?
Cheaper ADC to DVI converter won't work.
Then you need an MDP to DVI adapter...

DVI single link 60-Hz LCD can display a resolution of 1920 x 1200.

  • Will the 24 cinema led display work with my imac 17inch 2006 late model?

Would like to buy one that will work with my imac late 2006 17inch 2.0 ghz intel core 2 duo
Anyone know or are they only for the notebooks. thanks

    Talked to an Apple Genius.
May be an apple, but definitely not a genius.
He stated that I could do it a lot cheaper by using two of Apples adapters.
It will be cheaper, but it won't work.
Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter 19 dollars and Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter 29 dollars. I bought both, they don't fit together.
There's a reason they don't fit together. The DVI ports on these adapters are DVI outputs only, meant to send DVI signals to displays. The DVI ports cannot be used as inputs, no matter what adapters or cables are used.
Now all I need is a 24 inch LED Cinema display to see how it works.
It won't. The digital video signals are very different between DVI and DisplayPort. You can use a cheap adapter to connect a DVI display to aDisplayPort computer because the DisplayPort graphics system recognizes the adapter and changes the video signals to the DVI format. The adapter then sends these signals to the correct pins on its DVI port. You can'y use a simple adapter the other way since DVI graphics controllers can't generate DisplayPort video signals.
You need a DVI to Mini DisplayPort converter.
