Belkin fm tunecast 2 quest

Got a question for all of you who have this fm transmitter.
Just bought one. seems to work all right. I was just wondering if when the car adapter is plugged in and the batteries are in also , do the batteries get used up?

I agree, don't get an FM transmitter if your tape adapter works. The only "good" FM transmitter I've seen are the Griffin ones for Ipods. They seem to get it right, little static, and you don't have to crank your car stereo up to get a halfway decent sound. It's very frustrating that all electronic stores seem to bend over backwards to accomadate iPod users, and think that other mp3 players have no market.
I'm thinking about building my own FM transmitter from this website. http://www.hobbytron.com/fm_transmitter.html
But I'm not sure if I want to invest the time to make it. I have the TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter F8V367, and I have to have it touching my body at all times, or else it's all static.

Hello! I'm getting the iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation 1
GB as a gift and I want to know what else I need to

    the car as well? Thanks!
Depends on the capabilities of your car's audio system.
IF it has a cassette player you can use a cassette adapter.
IF it has an audio in, you can connect a cable between Shuffle and audio system.
IF neither of above you can get an FM transmitter (Belkin's TuneCast, for example) and connect Shufffle to transmitter.
You can get a cigarette lighter USB power dapter and attach Shuffle through dock to charge Shuffle.
You can NOT charge and play Shuffle simultaneously...yet.

  • Listening to ipod touch in car- bluetooth or FM?

    hello,
i would like to listen to 3rd gen i-touch in the car.
I have a motorola HF850 car hands free kit (bought from carphone warehouse) and hoped this would pair with the touch, but no luck.
Have tried performing 'device discovery' on car kit, bluetooth on touch switched on, etc.
Have read that bluetooth on the touch might only work with headphones, how is this?
Will I just have to buy something to transmit the music on an open FM freq to car stereo?
I'm not very good at all this, and would be v grateful for any help

I bought a $60 device from Belkin that is supposed to transmit the iPod sound to an empty FM station.

I tested it INSIDE my garage where the FM reception of nearby stations is terrible. You can choose any FM frequency on the dial in 0.1 increments. I tried every single one but it seemed that no matter what "quiet" frequency I chose, a burst of static or noise would break through. The FM transmitter on this thing is just too weak to maintain a solid lock to your radio. I've had not much luck with anything made by Belkin these days and I ended up returning it. There is another brand that gets hard-wired into your car using the antenna jack on the back of the radio and it's supposed to be superior.
My car audio system is just average so I ended up using an old Sony cassette tape adapter from a Discman. It's got a standard mini-stereo jack and plugs right into the iPod. The sound is not bad... certainly better than the cr@p being pumped out of the Belkin FM adapter. Works well enough for casual listening.

  • The search for a fm transmitterr..

I've went through two and took them both back. The first one was like 40$ and it was a Belkin 2 tunecast or something ( it didn't turn on all of the time). The second one is cheap and it was like 20$. Can someone direct me to one that works with the zen micro.
ps: Thank you creative labs for sending me my green 5 gb mp3 player, and i love it. Thank you for being so great during the whole process, this wont be the last time i'll use you guys.

Obviously if the car stereo manufacturers had an input jack on every unit, no one would have to buy those cassette adapters or FM transmitters. I have to believe that they do it so the industry can sell more product. You can buy an El-cheapo boom box, and that has an Aux input. I have seen an Aux Input if you feel like dumping $200 into new car stereo. Anyway, this has been a peave of mine since the 80's.
Just to be usefull, there is a FM transmitter unit that plugs into your Cig lighter. It also has a USB input if you just want to plug in your flash dri've (if you don't have an MP3 player) and it will read all MP3's on your flash dri've BYTECC DJ-880.

  • Linking MP3 player into

I have Got a Zen Micro and would really like to be able to hook it up to my car.
I have a CD already fitted in my car and I have seen on the accessories section that you can buy an adapter that plugs into a tape player.
I don't want to take my CD player out and replace it with a tape player.
Is there some accessorie that works with a CD player or is there something else what can be fitted instead to allow me to use my ZM in my car?

You can purchase an FM Transmitter, there are dozens available which will work for the Micro. Ones marked as Uni'versal are the ones you should consider, brands such as Sony, iRi'ver, Monster Cable, and more will work fine. Just make sure that they are marked Uni'versal. Also when purchasing one, its better to go for one that runs off the cars cig adapter. Battery ones such as Belkin's Tunecast series do not provide a strong signal and therefore can cause problems.

  • Play/pause button problem on

So sometimes the button just doesnt work. I finally figured out when and why. It only happens when I have my Belkin FM tunecast 2 transmitter plugged into it. Once I take that out and put the headphones back in, the play/button works just fine. Why that happens you ask? I have no idea!!!

I also have a TuneCast II and have no issues with it. That is unless I unplug it. Then I get the same result as unplugging the headphones.
Here is what I posted a couple days ago in a topic titled.
[Micro] Back Button Only Works w/ Headphones Attached
OK. Here is what I have noticed as of late regarding this issue.
. If I turn on the Micro WITHOUT anything plugged into the headphone jack I get this. All buttons are NON responsi've for a couple of seconds. Then All but the Play/Pause button become responsi've but at a lesser level than my prefs are set for. The Play/Pause button WILL not do anything. It is not recognized.
    2. If I plug something into the headphone jack all buttons then become fully responsi've at the level I have set in the prefs. Play/Pause functions normally.
    3. If I then remove the cable from the headphone jack the Play/Pause button once again becomes NON responsi've and the other buttons return to a less responsi've state.
    4. Reinserting a cable results in full responsi'veness again.
Is this intentional in the firmware? It seems to make sense that if nothing is connected to the headphone jack then there realy is NO reason for the Play/Pause button to function or any button for that matter. Is this possibly a measure to preserve battery life incase of accidental power on?
Oh. I have done similar tests while connected to my PC via only USB and had similar results. It seems that the Micro is only fully responsi've when a cable of some sort is connected to it.
Anyone have any ideas? I would especially like to hear from Jeremy or Cat.Message Edited by MicroZealot on 04-2-2005 :5 PMMessage Edited by MicroZealot on 04-2-2005 :53 PM

  • Trouble connecting Ipod Touch 2G to Belkin Tunecast auto

Hi there! I just bought my Ipod Touch 2G on this Chritsmas and find it really cool, but... I have this one problem, when I try to connect it to my new Belkin Tunecast auto, it just doesn't stop sending the audio trough the internal speakers in order to ear the sound on the external ones, (in this case my auto-stero via AM/FM signal) and I know the problem is not the belkin transmiter because I also try it on my Ipod nano, and it works perfect there, so I think something happens with my Ipod touch, can you tell me if that's normal, I mean can the iPod Touch send the audio outside from the "charging port" like many others ipod's or it have to be done by the headphone output only, help me please, thanks!

The Belkin Tunecast Auto does not support the iPod Touch and you will not get it to work. Please read the description of the product here :-
    http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=263595
It clearly shows what devices work with it and the iPod Touch is NOT listed.

  • IPod nano freezing when plugged into Belkin Tunecast

Everything has been working fine with my ipod nano 3rd generation until recently. I tried to plug it into the tunecast in my car and the ipod froze. I've tried resetting it and this still happens. A different ipod has been working fine with the tunecast which makes me think there is nothing wrong with the belkin but the ipod is fine even when plugged into the computer which makes me wonder which one is not working properly. Any ideas????

I am having this exact same issue with my wife's 3g, 8GB nano and her Monster iCarPlay. the Monster unit and the nano worked fine together for a week or two but now the nano locks up when connected to it. You disconnect the nano and it goes back to working fine. I have reset the nano while both connected and not connected to the Monster and have done a restore in iTunes and I am still having the same issue. I called support and they basically told me to buy a new car adapter. I don't believe this is a good solution since the Monster worked with the nano for a couple of weeks when we first got it and the Monster still works fine with both my wife's and my old ipod mini's. Any suggestions?

  • Using iPod with Belkin Tunecast II Mobile Transmitter

I purchased this today and tried to set up this evening. The Belkin works off audio levels from the iPod, but when I attach it to my iPod it does not come on (it is supposed to come on automatically when it senses the audio level). I tried it with batteries and with the adapter to the cig lighter which should power the Belkin. Nothing. I tried a set of headphones on the iPod, nothing. I tried the ear buds that came with the iPod and (after having to reset the iPod) did get audio. It appears that the only audio plug working with my iPod is the one on the ear buds which came from the mfg. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my iPod. The iPod also freezes when I use either of the 2 audio plugs NOT on my ear buds. Any suggestions? Any recommendations for a good way to play my iPod from the car radio? Thank you!
    Dell   Windows XP

I am having the same problem, I thought it was the Belkin thing that wasn't working because I turn it on and it works and as soon as I plug the wire into the Belkin it just shuts off. I really don't want to try to restore the ipod, cause I'm not that good at this stuff and I don't know how to backup my songs and I have a lot on there. Did restoring it work for you?

  • Belkin tunecast 2 fm transmit

will the work with a creative zen touch?if not what will it work with?

Most newer wireless headphones are in the 900MHz or 2.4GHz range. I believe there are some higher than that as well. Anyway. Yes there is occasional static and frequency stomping by more powerful broadcasts but of any of the FM transmitters I would have to recommend the TuneCast II or similar. It is one of the only ones I know of that use the full FM spectrum and not just 2 or 3 predefiined frequencies like 88.3, 88.5 and 88.9 or whatever.
All I did was try to find the weakest FM stations allong my normal dri've and then programmed the TC II's presets for those stations. Made a preset for each on my radio and just switch as I dri've.
I would have used a Tape adapter but that's another wire hanging in my way plus the FM is usable in more situations especially when I get in a car etc. that has only a CD player. The FM modulator would have worked but the radio is a pain to accss in a '96 Sable.

  • Belkin Serial Num

I went to register my bew Belkin and I can't find the serial number on my Belkin TuneCast II. Could somebody please tell me where to look please? Thank you so much. Pictures showing the location (if possible on this forum) would be truly appreciated! Is it on the package or on the item itself or on both? Sincerely, Gwyneth

    According to the Knowledge Base:
<FONT color=#0033ff>Serial and model numbers of portable MP3 players can be located either on the external casing or inside the battery compartment there is a replaceable battery.

    appreciate the help.

I can't comment on the MQ Adapter as I've never used it however the Oracle AQ Adapter is very straight forward to use.
I'm assuming the Oracle Database AQ Queue and Object type has already been set up. I'm also assuming that it is Oracle database level Queueing system 'AQ' we are talking about and not OJMS.
Ensure you have created a connection to the Oracle Database that hosts the AQ Queue you want to monitor for messages (pull/Dequeue) or send messages to (push/Enqueue).
You should find the AQ Adapter Wizard steps for the AQ Adapter Service fairly intuitive.
From you ESB project in jDeveloper select and drag the AQ Adapter option from the Adapter Services drop down (or right click on the ESB design panel).
    Through the Wizard you will
Select a Name for the Service
    Select a database connection
    Select a Database Schema
Select an AQ Queue name (You can browse the Database schema using the Wizards browse button to find and select it)
For the Consumer (I think it's step 5) use the name of the user used for the AQ Queue creation
Step 6 (if memory serves me right) Select Business Payload = Whole Object <YourAQObjectType)
    And that should be it!
In addition, I haven't looked at this example myself but hopefully they'll be some pointers in here you'll find useful

Hope some of this helps and good luck!

  • Looking for help on connecting Airport Express to Belkin F5D7230-4

I have been reading post after post with a similar problem with help. From other post, it sounds like this Belkin router will work with Airport Express(AE), but I have not found help on how to make it work.
    Here is the problem.
I need to extend my internet signal from my office to my living room. The Belkin router is connected to my cable modem in my office. The Express is in my kitchen (between the two rooms). I set it up for expanding the signal and the light on the AE continues to flash yellow. I have called Apple and they were able to help me set it up, but it only works for AirTunes (and I am guessing anything plugged into the USB port), but NOT for internet.
Here are some of the things I have tried.
~~ I have connected the AE to the cable modem to check that is does work, and it does.
~~ I have moved the device closer to the router and still not working.
~~ I have made sure the Belkin settings are set for WDS, which it always was. I have reset the router and the AE.
What am I missing? Do I need an updated firmware? I have read on another post about a D-Link that needed DHCP and NAT disabled, but I don't understand how to do that and on which device? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the article. I have read that before.
The WDS was already enabled on my router so that did not help. There is something else missing somewhere on these steps that I am not understanding.
I assume that the AP direction is meant if I plan to use the Belkin router as an AP not the main router? Where in this case the AP is actually my Express, and my express does not have a similar interface to change things to the settings mentioned.
