• New cases for ZEN MP (and ZEN Micro) - and other accessor

All,
Not sure if anyone noticed this, but there is a new case available in the US for the ZEN Micro Photo and the ZEN Micro. It's the Belkin Sport Case for ZEN Micro Photo and can be seen here:
http://us.creative.com/products/prod...y=&product=454
Also coming very soon is going to be a leather case from Belkin for the exact same players. It's not up quite yet as we are waiting for stock still but it should be up in the next few days. I'll post when it comes up.
We also added a Belkin TuneDok for ZEN Micro/MicroPhoto: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4535
and a Sync Adaptor for ZEN Vision:M: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4539

I think it really depends on what you are looking for. The ZM/ZMP leather case has a cover that you have to open and shut to access the controls unless you have the remote and there is only a belt loop on the back versus a clip if you want to attach it to your body. The Belkin case has an open style front but fully protected with plastic and has three options of carrying (hand strap, waist strap or removable swi'vel clip). Plus it is neoprene whereas the other case is leather.
So I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
BTW ... I have the Pdaden/Capdase leather flip case in black for my ZMP and it is fabulous for the price $24.00 shipped. Has a removable swi'vel clip and the leather is surprisingly nice quality for the price. It is a flip case, so you have to open the cover to access controls but I'm interested in the Belkin because the front is accessible.

• Dell DJ Belkin Desktop Stand Fits the Zen Tou

Howdy, I was wondering if anyone knew how close the Zen Touch 20GB and the st Gen Dell DJ are in size and shape. I saw in another post about Creative making the st Gen Dell's, so I got to looking and low and behold almost all of the buttons on the side and the connections on top are the same, of course the Zen has the touch pad on front. In any case Belkin makes a desktop stand for the st Gen Dell unit and I wanted to know if the Touch would fit into it's If anyone knows for sure please post!

• Creative zen v plus and the belkin char

We discovered something that maybe is so obvious to everyone else but maybe not... we bought the belkin charger that works with our zen v plus. HOWEVER please note the usb cables that come with it and then with the zen v plus are NOT interchangeable. We at first assumed the only difference was the belkin cord was longer but the shorter cable that came with our zen v plus does NOT work with the wall charger. It made our zen lights blink on and off and go wierd and not charge at all but thankfully did not damage our player WHEW!

If the purchases you are talking about are DRM-protected files, which is mostly what the iTunes Store sells, they are not compatible with players other than iPod.
All you can do with them is use iTunes to burn them to an *audio CD.* Think how handy it would be to have them on an *audio CD.*
Going forward, do not spend your hard earned money on songs with proprietary DRM protection. There are other online stores, such as amazon.com, that sell the same songs in non-DRM format, which will be compatible with iPod, Zen, or virtually any other player.

• Hooking a camera to Nomad jukebox Zen Xtra using a belkin USB bri

Has anyone tried to transfer files from a digital camera to a Nomad jukebox Zen Xtra using a belkin USB bridge? Or any of the other Creative Mp3 players? If not does anyone know any other way to use the mp3 player as photo storage when traveling without use of computer?

It certainly won't work with the Zen players because they use a non-standard format.
There's the possibility that it should work with the MuVo players as they are just USB mass storage, but I've heard mention of someone that supposedly tried it and it doesn't. Am I right in thinking the Belkin USB bridge is for the iPod, or is it supposed to work for any USB mass storage player?

• Belkin Case for Dell Junkebox works GREAT for Zen To

Decided to take a chance and I purchased the case that Belkin makes for the Dell Jukebox MP3 player. It works beautifully!!! You have access to all of the controls and the case does not have to be removed. The touch pad works better than it did before; perhaps the plastic facecover diminishes the static electricity build-up that cases the touch pad to become over-sensiti've. The clip on the back of the case is strong, the player is protected all the way around and you have access to and see everything that you would want. I paid $2.50 plus shipping and I am very happy. Just wanted my fellow Zen Touch owners to know. Thanks. Happy playing!!

Brenda, I have had the case since Friday and it functions just fine. There is a plastic strip running along part of the side of the case where the Touch's controls are. You can clearly see all of them and there is no "feeling around" involved. If you check out the web address for the product, you will see that the item is a "drawstring" affir. While the case is drawn partially closed at the top, you have easy access to everything on top of the Zen without having to undo the case one bit. On the side of the Touch where there is the connection for the charger, a hole is already there and it works very well. The case's plastic faceplate has a hole in it so you have easy access to the Touch's "OK" button. I am very, very pleased with the item. By the way, Belkin is currently selling the case for 50% off, which puts the tab at $2.50 plus shipping.handling. Please check previous posts in this thread for the web page of the product. Enjoy!!

• Belkin/Dell DJ Dock for my Zen To

Does anyone know if i can buy this in the UK or does it have to be E-bay? I've seen other threads saying that this works fine with the Zen Touch, would appreciate some feed back on this thanks.

FM transmitters will work with pretty much any MP3 player e.g. those by Belkin, AudiaX (although they are technically illegal in the UK).
Portable speakers are made by Creative e.g. Travelsound, Playdock, and there are many 3rd party makes out there.
If your hi-fi has an auxilary in plug of some description, normally a twin phono socket, then you just need to buy a suitable audio wire to connect it. Typically a mini jack to twin phono plugs, which is very easy to buy at any reasonably hi-fi store.

• Is Belkin TuneDok Zen Touch compatible with MICRO Z

TUNEDOK ZEN TOUCH
Is compatible with MICRO ZEN?
Any product similiar compatible with Micro Zen?
(((thnxs, sorry by my english, i'm spanish)))

I'm guessing the size of the player is pretty critical, hence it's not suitable. I'm not aware of anything similar for the Micro, but I guess it's possible there is something.

• Several questions - new to Creative Zen Touch - please help (ripping/accessori

Hi, I just ordered my new Zen Touch 20gb online last night with a set of Sony earbuds (MDR-EX5LP). I'm pretty excited, get it this Friday.
I just had a few questions in advance:
A) Which programs are best for ripping, allow you to adjust the quality of the songs, and won't cause problems when burnt cds are ripped (saw a thread earlier that complained of bad quality when burnt cds were ripped to MP3 that worried me)?
B) What different types of cables/accessories would you recommend for wiring the Creative up to a stereo? On CNet.com and various other sites, they talk about how the Creative sounds great through speakers, and I'm really excited to hook that up, but I don't know A) Which cable to buy that will work well with the Creative/have good sound quality, B) Where to plug it in - headphone jack? (no analog Line Out, right?)
C) Has anyone had any experience with the remote? Is it pretty durable? I'm not going to plop down 50 plus shipping and handling, wait 2-3 weeks for the backorder, only to have it fall to bits in a few weeks.
Thanks SO much! I appreciate any and all help. I'm new to Creative/Mp3 players as a whole, so forgive any ignorance/mistakes.

I have used WMP0 exclusi'vely for ripping CDs. I rip WMAs at 28kbps, though you may want to go up to 92kbps if you can hear the difference (some people recommed ripping a song at both and deciding which is best). I sync all my CDs with WMP0 too, and have had no issues. One thing to caution you is to make sure your ID3 tags are correct before you sync up. What I mean by this is to make sure the album name, track titles, and artist names are to your liking. 90% it is not an issue, but sometimes, the titles have extra characters you may not wish to have. If you have more than one artist listed on a track, only the first one is loaded. So if you have, say: "EmmyLou Harris; Buddy Miller", the track is stored under artist Emmylou Harris only.

Belkin sells this Dell DJ base that the ZT will fit into (there is another thread on that here). That seems like a nice option. You do go out of your headphone jack. Any chord that has the headphone jack on one end, and stereo RCA (red, white) jacks on the other end will do.

See other threads about the FM remote. I read some concerns about their durability, but read for yourself and decide.

• Creative zen micro in the c

is there anyway i can hook my zen micro up in the car so it plays through my speakers and radio deck? . i see they have a belkin zen thing, but is that just a holder for it for going in your cup holder? if i cant listen to my zen in the car im tossing it and getting an ipod, i have enough problems with the welding on the head phone jack... .

If you've got a cassette player in your car, you can play your micro thru that (I do it all the time) using a cassette adaptor you can get for around $20 from practically anywhere. If not, seems like you'd have to go the FM transmitter route which will cost you more (see link). If your car has a single jack port (like the one used to connect your headphones to your micro), it should work with more than just an Ipod. My friend uses his for a non-pod product---you'd just need the little cable to go from your micro to your car's jack. http://us.creative.com/products/prod...57&product=427

• My Zen Sleek Only works with USB 1.1 not 2

For Reference ( http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=953 )
So I figured out that when my Zen Sleek is connected to any USB port on my computer, (it's USB 2.0) it doesn't work.
It works in that I can browse the files, etc..etc.. but when i try to copy a song or some songs, it will crash after the first song is transfered.
So I have a USB . Hub, and I plug the Zen Sleek to it and well even though it's slow, it actually works. All songs transfer fine.
So I buy a new Belkin USB 2.0 Hub, same problem happens.
I have an EPOX 8K5A+2 motherboard, built in 4 ports of USB 2.0, gig PC2700 Ram, AthlonXP 2800+ etc.. Latest VIA Detonator drivers... Deleted all the USB ports and what not in Device Manager, rebooted, etc.. tried everything.. Any Ideas people?

Confirm you've installed the Media Player 0 updates KB902344 (http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...4-x86-INTL.exe) and KB8922(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...08-FD6E7827CD8) on your XP system. I experienced the same transfer issues you report until after KB902344 installation.

Please Help me.
PS. I plugged in more than computer and its the samething
I don't have a specific answer for you ... but a question instead: When you say you plugged it into more than computer, did you use the same USB cable each time? The reason I ask is because of what I experienced just the other day (that really confused me after I thought I had figured out some of this stuff).
I have been successfully plugging my Zen V Plus 2GB (like yours) into the USB port on the front of my PC (some people have to plug it into a back port) and it charges very well. But I wanted it to charge a bit faster, so I bought a Belkin charger from Wal-Mart (it comes with a charger for a wall outlet, a car charger, and a short USB cable that plugs into the back of either charger). Well, I left the Belkin USB cable in my car's glovebox so I could charge it in the car when I'm driving. And thinking that I could plug the same USB cable that I've been successfully using on my PC into the wall outlet charger, I discovered something baffling.
Belkin's chargers (car and home) only seem to work with the USB cable they supplied (don't know why they only supply one cable and two places to plug it, though). Not being an electrical engineer, I can only guess that not all USB cables are created equal. And perhaps this is part of the problem people like you are having getting their players to charge sufficiently to display the screen.
I hope that someone more qualified (that is, more knowledgeable) can shed some light on this subject. What combination of USB port and cable is required to work with Creative players? Are different cables wired differently (like some cat-5 or modem cables are "crossover" and some aren't)?

• Can a Zen Micro be used with a stereo receiv

Is it possible to use a my zen micro with?stereo receiver and play my playlists through the receiver and therefor use my speakers connected that a connected to the receiver?

Yes, well, I did it with my Zen Touch. Just go to the store, tell them what you want to do, and the sales dude will give you the right cable.
Do what I did however and draw a diagram of the back of your stereo to show the input holes and stereo connections etc. Your stereo might not be up to date enough. But it probably is.
The cable cost me 30 dollars. It's by Belkin, and it marketed to use with iPods.
White cable with chrome heads. Quality of cable will effect the sound.

• Zen Touch Ca

Hi. I've been searching the forums for zen touch cases and have a few questions about the ones discussed.
RE: the Krussel flip case. I tend to use the touch pad a lot to switch songs, etc. Will I be able to open the case a lot to access the touch pad or is the headphone jack in the way?
RE: the Belkin Dell DJ case. There was a link to see a picture, but it doesn't work anymore. Could anyone describe what this one looked like. Is it the drawstring one or something else?
RE: the esxpect skin. Do these really do much to protect the player? We li've in the country and also am looking for something to try to keep dust out as much as possible.
Any other suggestions regarding cases?
Thanks a lot
Debbie

I've got the Krusell case. If you use the stock headphones or any with an L-shaped jack you're going to be fine. If you've got phones with a straight jack, you might want to use an L-shaped adapter (if there are any) because it could get in your way depending on the brand. So far I'm really satisfied with the case, it seems to be really well made.
