Bell Sympatico server name for CalDAV

Does anyone know the server name to connect my Bell Sympatico calender to iOS?

Setting up Sympatico in your iPhone:
Incoming Mail Server:
Host - pophm.sympatico.ca
Username - full email add
Password - password
Outgoing Mail server:
SMTP - smtp1sympatico.ca [please note there is No dot btwn smtp & sympatico]
Go to smtp settings and your:
Primary Server - smtp1sympatico.ca will be On.
Now select Primary server:
Host smtp1sympatico.ca
Username - not necessary
Password - not necessary
Use SSL - On
Authentication - password
Server Port - 25
Other SMTP Servers settings:
smtphm.sympatico.ca will be On
Rogers SMTP Server will be on [pls note they both have to be turned On, don't have to do
anything more]
Advanced settings:
Use SSl - On
Authentication - Password
Server Port 995
You will be able to Send and Receive mail from Sympatico But if you have other custom
folders under your main sympatico setup, they somehow do not show up on the iPhone. But the
important and most relieving part is that you will now be able to Send and Receive mail with
ease. Any questions, please post and any new discoveries, please share.

  • WebtopNaming - can not find server name for server ID

We have a LB, and web servers in front of OpenSSO app servers in our environment.
OpenSSO debug log CoreSystem fills up with lot of errors like these:
ERROR: WebtopNaming.getServerFromID() can not find server name for server ID : 07
    com.iplanet.services.naming.ServerEntryNotFoundException: Cannot find server.
Sometimes, it even complains about a server id (07 in the following trace) which doesn't even exist in the Site Id Table.
There are no changes in the configuration. DNS is properly configured and all the servers and their connectivity are available. CoreSystem throws these errors even after a restart of opensso app servers.
Any ideas about the root cause?

    Thank You for the response.
Here is my site configuration in OpenSSO:
There are 4 servers in the two opensso hosts (2 secure, 2 non secure)
    Servers:
    http://host4.company.com:8080/openSSO
    http://host5.company.com:8080/openSSO
    https://host4.company.com:8443/openSSO
    https://host5.company.com:8443/openSSO
Only one site with secure URLs is configured
    Sites:
    site1
    Primary URL: https://opensso-qa.company.com:443/openSSO
    Assigned Servers:
    https://host4.company.com:8443/openSSO
    https://host5.company.com:8443/openSSO
From the CoreSystem log, Server ID definitions are:
    https://host4.company.com:8443/openSSO=01
    https://host5.company.com:8443/openSSO=02
    https://opensso-qa.company.com:443/openSSO=03
    http://host4.company.com:8080/openSSO=04
    http://host5.company.com:8080/openSSO=05
Sometimes it throws an exception with existing server IDs. But sometimes it also complains about non existing server IDs.

  • Retrieve available server names for MS SQL server

    hello
Can somebody tell me how I can retrieve available server names for MS SQL server.
When MS SQL server loads it asks for server name to connect but on the same time has a combobox with the available server names(instace+database name). How can I provide the same functionality in my application?
    Thank you in advance.

It isn't going to be as simple as just the name.
There are also different ways to connect and probably other parameters as well.
SQL Server Enterprise Manager probably uses a discovery protocol. It probably sends one or more messages requesting information and those servers that want to respond.
Note that none of that has anything to do with JDBC and discovering how it does that probably isn't easy. A packet sniffer might help.

  • Changing Server Name for EAS Account

Is there a way to change the server name for an EAS account without having to remove the account and re-add it?  If not, Palm please put in this ability.

    Hello!
The reason for this not avail as a security feature built into the EAS protocol.  From a corporate security point of view, corporations do not want the chance of company-sensitive data being extracted/put into a different server(s) that could very well be not their own.  Any device that uses EAS will have to remove the acct and add the new one.  You IT will need to assist with any data migrations that the new server doesnt have.

  • Incoming and Outgoin server name for Hotmail

    Dear All,
Can anyone please help with the Incoming and Outgoin server names for Hotmail account.I am trying to set up my hotmail account on my i phone.Has anyone been succesful at doing this?
    Mo

You can configure Hotmail to work on the iPhone. It's working great on mine!! You have to upgrade to a Hotmail Plus account (although, apparently they will be offering POP3 on free accounts, as well, sometime within the next year). It sounds like POP3 on the paid Hotmail accounts is something that was just "officially" enabled last week. I found an official announcement from one of the Lead PMs for Hotmail - take a look, here:
    http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!44348.entry
I just upgraded my Hotmail account to Hotmail Plus yesterday and now my mail works from my iPhone (it was not working yesterday before I upgraded my account). Here are the iPhone mail settings I am using successfully (the email addresses and passwords are just examples, of course):
    Account: On
    *Account Information:*
Name: John Smith (note: enter your own name)
Address: [email protected] (note: enter your full Hotmail email address)
    Description: Hotmail
    *Incoming Mail Server:*
    Host Name: pop3.live.com
User Name: [email protected] (note: enter your full Hotmail email address)
Password: password (note: enter your Hotmail password)
    *Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):*
    Host Name: smtp.live.com
User Name: [email protected] (note: enter your full Hotmail email address)
Password: password (note: enter your Hotmail password)
    *Advanced Settings:*
    Incoming Uses SSL: On
    Outgoing Uses SSL: On
    Authentication: Password
Delete from Server: When removed from Inbox (or your preferred option)
That's it - I hope everything works for you, as well. Good luck!

  • How to Retrieve Server Name for creating connection pool during startup!

    Hi All,
I am going thru the edocs documentation of weblogic for creating the connection pool and the datasource dynamically. The URL I referred to was as under
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jdbc/programming.html
There is a sample given in the above-mentioned URL. The Server MBean is created by passing the server name.
The code below mentioned was have placed in my dblib.java
    svrAdminMBean = (ServerMBean)adminMBeanHome.getAdminMBean("myserver", "Server");
I am creating the connection pool from the servlet by invoking the dblib.java
I cannot hard-code the server name in the dblib.java since the same code was shared across multiple servlets.
Each Servlet will create its own connection pool during application server startup.
Is there a way to retrieve the server name in which the dblib.java is invoked.
Any pointers to info source will be REALLY appreciated.
    Many Thanks in Advance,
    C R Baradwaj

    You can get it from the Java system property weblogic.Name, i.e. System.getProperty("weblogic.Name");
    Cheers

  • Insert Portlet Server name for troubleshooting

    Hi,
We have multiple gadget servers in a load balanced / failover setup. We are using Plumtree Load balancing. We would like to insert the server name or ip address into a hidden text field in the gadget for troubleshooting. Since we have a lot of gadgets already written, I would like to be able to do this on the web server. Additionally, we would also like to be able to identify which Web server is being used. This was straight forward in ASP, but I am not sure what the best way to do this in 5.03.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rick

Yeah, just use a Macro :>
    1) In the login script check the network address to determine the physical
    location.
    2) One the location is determined, map a drive or set an environment
    variable based upon this location.
    3) Reference that variable or drive letter in your app.

  • Shared Printers - Using a DNS record instead of server name for failover

I have a Server 2012 Print Server. I plan on creating a second one for failover purposes. I will be installing the shared printers on client PCs using Group policy preferences.  Instead of using
\\servername\printer as the path, can I create a DNS record for the server name and use
\\dnsname\printer?  That way, if the first server dies, I just edit the dns record to point to the second server instead of renaming the second server and changing the IP of the second server.

    Hi,
Based on your description, we can try creating a DNS alias for our printer server and use the alias instead of the host name in the UNC path. When this server goes down, we
can make the alias pointing to another printer server.
Regarding how to create an alias for a DNS host name, the following article can be referred to for more information.
Add an Alias (CNAME) Resource Record to a Zone

    Hope it helps.

  • Changing windows server name for Broadcast Agent

I need to rename my windows server, whick Broadcast Agent is installed. Is there a road map to do this, or any simple way?
    Thanks
    Fabio Florio

    Yes! Thanks.
Sequence of steps to change was so
    1. At the URL: http://<sapsolmanhost>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc~smd~server~agent~admin/SMDAgentAdminApplication
I stop agent (corresponding drop-down menu item on the agent)
    2. Produce commands from the console: smdsetup changeservername servername:"name of the server that I need"
    3. Produce restart agent, similar to paragraph 1 (a start point in the dropdown menu)
    4. Produce Update "Server Name" is similar to paragraph 1 (a start point in the dropdown menu on the agent name in list of agents)

  • NNTP Server Name for Sun's Java Newsgroups

Please can someone tell me the above NNTP server name ? I'd like to make use of Outlook Express to read & post to the java newsgroups.
    TIA.

There are some free news servers but usualy they don't allow postings.
The best think you can do is to contact your ISP and ask them if they have NNTP server or at least NNTP proxy which you can use.

  • Changing Mail Server Settings for Other IMAP

    Hello,
I'm an Admin for a treatment center and one of our psychiatrists has a BB Tour. He asked me the other day if I could set up his email account on our exchange server for him on his phone. Going through the mail setup wizard I selected "Other" account and set it up for IMAP and then it asked me for his email address and password. It took the domain name and then assumed the mail server names were as such. Now in a perfect world, this wouldnt be an issue. I recently took over for a complete moron and this guy has our MX records pointing to a 3rd party company where all of our outside emails go and then the Outlook clients are set up to pop this box in addition to the Exchange setup (I know its totally lame). What Ive done for everyone else is just setup a IMAP account using the server IP address and mail works fine for them. I cannot for the life of me find where I can actually edit the mail server names for the IMAP account I create on his BB Tour. Is this a limitation the phone? Or am I not looking in the right place. Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yup -- refer back to my first reply where I said to use the carrier BIS website...while I didn't say it quite so clearly, I did not say to use the on-device email setup wizards.
The device interface to BIS (aka email setup wizards) and the carrier website interface to BIS have subtle differences. For what you need to do, you need to use the carrier website from a PC/browser. Here is the link:
    https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw
If you have not yet created BIS credentials, you will need to. I find it easier to first create those on the device interface and then use them in the web interface. Afterwards, you will have to use the credentials in the device interface, but there is a "remember me" box so you will only have to enter them once.
Personally, I rarely use the device interface...a full keyboard, mouse, and monitor are so much simpler for doing things than a tiny BB screen/keyboard. But that's just me.
    Good luck!
