Belle navigation 3.09 guidance over bluetooth

Navigation guidance on belle works, when music is on!
Music volume (tom tom bluetooth) can be adjusted at bluetooth device and the navigation guidance on the phone.
On N9 and N97 navigation guidance worked normally with bluetooth.
Nokia developers, please correct this bug!!

  • No Voice Guidance under Bluetooth

The "No Voice Guidance under Bluetooth" problem seems to be well documented on this board as well as elsewhere on the web, and can be sumarize like this:
In-Car bluetooth connections that work fine for phonecalls will not relay voice directions from Maps, and the phone itself stays mute. In effect, no voice directions are heard at all.
The reason seems clear as well: The bluetooth standard allows for several different kinds of sound-streams for priority purposes etc. Most In-Car bluetooth devices however (including several NOKIA-ones), accept only actual phonecalls. Hence, all oher sound is muted while connected to the car.
The rather obvious solution would be to have a setup-item in Ovi-Maps that forces all sound from the program to use the phones integrated speakers instead of an operative Bluetooth connection. (Use Bluetooth connection for Voice directions On/Off).
However, over all the posts, NO NOKIA STAFF have responded to aknowledge the problem or comment on it's possible solution or workaround. (And I have not found any third party app that adresses the issue.)
One might speculate that the reason would be the design of the operating system, choosing to handle all sound in a similar way, which undoubtedly is a good thing ... in most cases, but in this case dissalows usage of the free navigation in the one situation it is of the highest value - IN THE CAR.
NOW - as FREE NAVIGATION becomes a major selling point and the aplication can't work in a modern car while maintaining legal phone connectivity, NOKIA needs to accept this reality, and make Ovi-maps useable for these users as well - even if that means defying a design principle. An actual response from someone informed, would be greatly appreciated.
For reference, I use version 3.03 10wk01 b05 of Ovi-maps on my NOKIA N97 mini with a factory fitted Alfa Romeo "Blue&Me" bluetooth kit, developed by Microsoft Automotive.

I don't have this issue. But then I don't have a BT system built-in to the car.
What I do have is a Sony BT Radio / CD / AUX which I fitted myself.
The Sony has 2 "channels" for BT input - "Music" and "Phone". I can connect my N97 using both of these channels,or only one. The SatNav function on the phone uses the Music channel, and the phone uses the Phone channel.
I also have an Archos 5 IT, which has GPS and BT. So I can connect my Archos for the Satnav, and the N97 for the phone, and the radio controls which output is muted, at the touch of one button.
I mention this to show that the Nokia N97 has all the technology and flexibility to perform all these functions perfectly, co-operating fully with other devices.
Can you say the same for the devices fitted in your cars? How long ago were these devices fitted? How long ago did you buy these cars? When was the firmware last updated? What standards did the in-car devices conform to in the first place.
    Just a thought.

  • IPhone 4 iOS7: Playing music over bluetooth, short dropout during mp3-id-transfer

After upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS7, i have a little problem with the music-player.
I use it, playing music in my car over Bluetooth. Everytime a new song starts, I have a short dropout while my iPhone transfers the MP3 tag to my car's soundsystem. It would be no problem, if that happens before starting to play a song, but it starts to play for about half a second, then drops out, sends the tag and my soundsystem displays it, then continues playing.
I use a Renault Carminat soundsystem with TomTom-Navigation (all builtin).
    Any ideas?
Untagging the MP3-songs is out of discussion!
Buying iPhone 5s is in plan, but there must be another solution.

    Hi,
I'm from germany so no 'best buy' but I think I will lock around sleeve/bag for a different product with same measures. Any tip?
The clear plastic case is not what I want. I would like to use the player without such protections. I just want a sleeve to protect the player while its in my jacket/pants.
Btw, i have bought this version: Creative Zen (maybe european version?). I also doesn't seem to have your mentioned sleeve. I also couldn't find it on the website.
    Anyway, thank you,
    Chris

  • Can I get the voice over Bluetooth with Google Map on WEBOS 2.0 (Palm Pre 2)?

    Hi,
I just got a Palm Pre 2 with WEBOS 2.0, I am wondering if there is a setup or an application that can provide/enable the GPS voice over bluetooth when using the direction from the Google Map?
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102una (Rogers)

    Hello Danmtl,
If what you are referring to is being able to use a Bluetooth headset for Google Maps voice navigation, then you're in for disappointment. Google Maps w/ Navigation is only available for Android devices at this point in time, although there are talks of Google allowing the service to be placed on Windows Phone 7. As for the WebOS lineup, your only options for voice navigation would be either Verizon's VZ Navigator or Spint's Sprint Navigation. Either of those would require that you had purchased the phone specifically from that provider, so no luck for you there.
Looks like we're all waiting on Google to step in for us at this point in time!

  • E6 - Ovi Maps Voice guidance over BT Car Music Sys...

OK everyone has been screaming out a lot on this issue, I had the same problem while using E71 before while using the Ovi Maps.  (Refer my earlier post)
    /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/No-Voice-Guidance-under-Bluetooth/m-p/665637#M21482
It seems Nokia have partly answered to this problem, but still there is big OPEN FAULT.
Got my Nokia E6 y'day and Tried the Map's Voice guidance while connected to my same Car System's BT (Blaupunk Hamburg MP68 - refer my earlier post ), here are the changes I noticed.
    1) While playing music through CD/USB, Nokia E6 gives out Voice guidance while navigating through its "own" LoudSpeaker.  THIS IS A GOOD CORRECTION to the previously noticed problem and the guidance is not lost.
    2) Now comes the issue.  While navigating, when there is a incoming or outgoing phone call, music stops and the phone voice conversation are routed to the BT music system properly (This is something the basic functionaly and it works as it as properly).   But the  Voice guidance is totally lost in this scenario!!!  THERE IS NO VOICE GUIDANCE EITHER ON THE PHONE'S OWN LOUDSPEAKER OR THE BT MUSIC SYSTEM.
Nokia, expecting u to fix this bug sooner...
    A Nokia Loyalist :-)

Looks like this fault will stay for ever...
Here's reply from Nokia Careline when complained this problem.
    ======
Thank you for contacting Nokia Careline.
We understand that Voice guidance of your Nokia E6 Ovi Maps gets lost when there is an incoming or outgoing phone call.
We value the importance of your feedback and we are here to assist you.
In response to your email, we would inform you that we can not comment on compatibility of Nokia E6-00 with non Nokia device (in this case, Blaupunkt Hamburg MP68). However, we have taken this as a valuable feedback and we have forwarded the same to the Consumer Feedback Division for their due consideration.

  • GPS over Bluetooth

    Hi there
I've been using my E72 with Sony EXPLOD car stereo (which has Bluetooth) for last 4 months without any problems. I can receive calls, listen to music (in my phone)  thru the bluetooth without a problem. But the problem comes while using GPS voice directions.
Though it is properly paired , but I can't listen to those GPS voice directions thru the Bluetooth in my car stereo. What's more, if the phone is paired I don't hear any voice directions even from the headset.
So I can either use Bluetooth for calls or GPS but not both together. Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IPhone 5 won't play audio over Bluetooth in 2012 Lexus GX 460

My iPhone 5 can connect via Bluetooth to my 2012 Lexus GX460.  I can make and receive calls over car speaker/Bluetooth.
However, when I attempt to connect and play music, it says Bluetooth connection failed -- Please see portable player settings.
Are there new settings on the iPhone to have the audio played over Bluetooth?
My iPhone 4S and 4 worked perfectly.  Now, the iPhone 5 has issues.
    I have tried this:
    1. Removed the phone from the GX 460
    2. Added the phone back using password
    3. Says it is connected and I can make/receive calls
Since the audio did not work, I tried:
    1. Turned off Bluetooth on the iPhone
    2. Turned off the iPhone
    3. Removed the phone from the GX 460
    4. Turned off the GX 460
    5. Started the GX 460
    6. Turned on the iPhone
    7. Turned on Bluetooth
    8. Paired the phone with the GX 460
    9. Calls can be made/received, but audio still does not connect
Lexus has not returned any calls/messages on this one -- hoping someone may have an answer.
    Thanks!

Had this problem in my 2012 IS F.  Fixed it by going to 'SETUP' -> 'Audio' -> BLuetooth settings.  Deleted the existing pairings and then repaired my phone.  Bingo!

  • My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

Ah, sure it actually won't.  I have the same problem, and I contacted Apple Support.  They told me that there is an incompatability between the iphone 5 and MacBook Pro Retina such that Bluetooth pairing is not possible.
The Support Agent actually had the audacity to tell me this was part of the design of the OS on the MacBook Pro, like Windows people saying, "That's not a bug.  It's a feature!!"
Personally, I think this is insane.  While I was trying to tether the iphone to the MacBook Pro retina for an internet connection, there are other reasons related to file transfers for which one would want to pair the iphone 5 with the MacBook Pro retina.
I am hoping this "feature" is fixed in iOS 7, and/or in some dot release of Mac OS 10.8.
By the way, the personal hotspot feature on my Verizon iphone 5 works great either via a wifi or USB connection.  There are occaisions, however, when one would 1) not have a USB cable, and/or 2) have another wifi relationship between the phone and a network that one would not want to have to "forget" in order for it not to connect to that wifi network.  The Macbook will not find the iphone as a wifi hotspot if the iphone is connected to wifi in the first place.  At least mine won't.

  • How can i print to my officejet 100 mobile printer from an android device over bluetooth?

I'm stumped here. I've installed the printer on my Windows PC. I'm able to pair with it (Bluetooth) from my Android tablet (Galaxy 10.1"). I've tried using a variety of printing programs from the Android Marketplace, but I can't get anything to print.
When I try with PrinterShare, it asks me to select the printer. When I select the OfficeJet 100, I'm told that the application can't find a driver for the printer.
Note to HP: You definitely need to improve the documentation on this printer. The docs that came with my printer make no mention of Android, and finding anything useful online is practically impossible. Very disappointing.
    This question was solved.

Downloaded printershare and $13 premium key.  Works perfectly over bluetooth for Droid Xyboard.

Hi uneleashurself and thanks for your answer.
Forgive my language but getting to talk to the Safaricom customer service is a real pain in the **bleep** - if you ever get to talk to them, that is.
I've never got an answer to my phone calls in three years and their customer assistans in the shops usually have no clue about whatever it is you're asking them.
I talked to a few of them in a couple of different Safaricom shops and they didn't know what I was talking about.
Still, I believe Safaricom is not the problem as other people I know who have a BlackBerry on Safaricom haven't experienced this problem.

  • App Store updates no longer works over Bluetooth on iTunes 11

Up throught iTunes 10.7 I could open the App Store on my iPad and select the updates tab and just click update all, to download all the available updates, and a blue bar would grow across the bottom of the app icons as the update download and would say Installing off to the side and then switch to Open once the application was updated.  That was GREAT!!!
Now with iTunes 11 and it's horrible interface when I try to update over bluetooth, and click Update all... no blue updating bars and I get a popup that says, "Cannot Connect to iTunes Store" with an "Ok" button.
Somehow I found that it would download them when I plugged my USB into my Mac Pro.
Apple, I hope you are reading this... PLEASE fix iTunes so I can download over Bluetooth, and yes my iPad is Connect to my Mac Pro

Which version of Pages 09 do you have? You don't need higher version than 4.0.4 on Snow Leopatd. Here you can download the iWork 9.0.4 update.

  • AirPlay discovery over Bluetooth in AppleTV 6.1?

Has anyone got AirPlay discovery over Bluetooth, supposedly added to, AppleTV 6.1, working?
Does it requires an iPhone 5 and/or an AppleTV (3rd generation)?
I'm using an iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1  and an Apple TV (2nd gen) with 6.1:
    • AirPlay works fine if I put these two devices on the same Wi-Fi network
But if I switch them to different networks (which are still IP connected though), the Airplay button does not get appear on my iPhone.
    • Bluetooth is enabled on both the iPhone and Apple TV 2.
Several sites report AirPlay discovery over Bluetooth working between iOS 7.1 and AppleTV 6.1:
    • http://gadgets.ndtv.com/tv/news/apple-tv-61-update-brings-airplay-security-optio n-discovery-over-bluetooth-and-more-494249

    Saito,
      • AirPlay mirroring works fine for me when both devices, AppleTV & iOS device, are on the same wireless network.
      • We are not trying to do AirPlay mirroring over Bluetooth.
But my institutional network blocks the multicats used by the Bonjour protocol to disocver AirPlay receivers. To use AirPlay here, I must therefor set up an ad-hoc WiFI network and connect both the AppleTV and the iOS device to this network, for the Bonjour protocol to be successful and the AirPlay link to be displayed on the iOS device.
The links I provided suggested that with iOS 7.1 and AppleTV 6.1, one could use bluetooth for discovery of the AirPlay receiver (and hence it's IP address.)  The actual AirPlay session would then routed from your iOS device to the IP address of the AppleTV. Bluetooth would not be used for the AirPlay traffic, just for the Bonjour discovery phase.
However, I, like Randall G. Black - TIS, was unable to discover my AppleTV (2nd generation) over Bluetooth. I, like Randall G. Black - TIS, wonder if AirPlay-discovery-over-Bluetooth, in addition to requiring iOS 7.1 and AppleTV 6.1, may have other requirements? Perhaps it only works with the AppleTV (3rd generation)?

  • Sharing internet connection over bluetooth

i have 2 computers less than 10 metres apart, one of which is connected to the internet broadband. the solution for sharing the connection wirelessly with this particular setup is rather expensive.
i was wondering if it would be possible to share the internet connection on the computer that has it over bluetooth with the other computer.
i read an archived response suggesting that it was. can someone confirm?
    just to be clear:
i hoping to have 2 computers bluetooth connected the second of which will be able to connect to the internet via the 1st computers connection.

While it is not explicitly supported by OS X, both machines can be configured to do this. For lots of reasons, I don't think that this is a good idea. Your Bluetooth link is so slow compared to either a wireless—or even much faster terrestrial—ethernet link, that it's not worth the effort to enable this service.
Save yourself a great deal of grief and disappointment, and get ahold of a relatively inexpensive ethernet gateway [wired or wireless] and set up a small local area network. You will be far more secure, and enjoy a far better level of performance than you would see if you attempted to create a Bluetooth LAN.
That said, here is a set of instructions for enabling internet sharing using Terminal commands. It's paraphrased from…
    http://www.macgeekery.com/hacks/pppoverbluetooth
In the Bluetooth preference pane's sharing tab, make a new Serial Port Service and name it bt-ppp and make it an RS-232 device. If it's on, disable internet sharing in the Sharing prefpane. Then create the following script [shown below.]
The script starts pppd on the new Bluetooth serial device you've created, then sets up IP forwarding, NAT, and the like. The en0 can be replaced with en1 if your primary net connection is AirPort. You can change the IP listed to something appropriate for your network, as well. If you put it in the range of IPs you're already using for your home network, natd is smart enough to work as a router instead of a gateway. Run as root, but—for the love of all that is holy and just—use sudo instead of su.
This is the script you must run in terminal:
    /usr/sbin/pppd /dev/tty.bt-ppp 115200 noauth local passive proxyarp asyncmap 0 silent persist :10.1.1.25 &
    /usr/sbin/sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1
    /usr/sbin/natd -same_ports -use_sockets -log -deny_incoming -interface en0
/sbin/ipfw add divert natd ip from any to any via en0
If you are unfamiliar with issuing commands from the Terminal or are not familiar with what these unix commands mean, I would suggest that you proceed very cautiously, and do more research before attempting this.
