  • Edit Nokia Maps GPS waypoints

    Hi!
Is it possible to edit the Nokia Maps GPS waypoints on a PC?
    Tks in advance!

    @everton_cwb
    Welcome to the forum!
If you have created route upon device you can always synchronise it with Ovi, then go to maps.ovi.com and add waypoint to existing route and re-synchronise back to device if that is what you mean.

  • E7, belle & Nokia Maps & Navigation

I have an issue with the maps application which has only become apparent following the upgrade to Belle. When I search for a place by postcode, touch the tick, the application searches for and displays the location. If I then try to save this location in favorites by typing a friendly name at the text entry line and then touch the tick to save it the display cycles back to "save as" again. Once here this loop continues ad infinitum. What is the correct way of adding a destination to the navigation app without getting stuck in this save as loop? Will this buggette be fixed in a future update to either Nokia Maps or Belle?

Licences are now 30 and 90 days plus a full year, I believe this is effective from Maps 2.0 onwards.

  • Unable to renew Nokia Maps license, 6600 Slide, SW...

Please can anyone help,. I have a Nokia 6600 Slide with the latest software (V6.55).  I was successfully using Nokia Maps GPS navigation having purchased a license key for UK/Ireland in January 2011.  I have an external bluetooth GPS device. Howver, the Maps license key has now expired (as expected, it was a 1-year licence).  Without a license I cannot use the voice-guided navigation function.
When I go throoug the phone menus to purchase a 1-year license again, I get to the menu that asks which payment method I wan to use (I select Visa). At this point the screen just refreshes, with no message or error code. I am not asked for payment card details. I cannot get past the "payment method" menu.
This process worked just fine for me in Jan 2011 when I first purchased a license, and other web browing functions using the built-in web browser are just fine.  I have tried refreshing the Nokia software (It was already at V6.55, which is the latest level).
I would appreciate any hints or tips as I really miss my in-car GPS navigation.

This is the bit that worries me as since Nokia stoped marketing their own Bluetooth GPS receiver support for devices without Integrated GPS has been steadily disappearing from firmware updates.
I last purchased a 1 yr. navigation license for my N95 in November 2011 via credit card.

  • Nokia Map vs GPS Data

New owner of the 6220 classic. Can anyone tell me something about the relation between the Nokia Maps applicaton and the app called GPS Data?
    Sven

Nokia Maps is a navigation software which allows you to plot you position on a map and also allows you to navigate to a known destination on the map.
GPS Data on the other hand gives you raw information such as your location in coordinate form (latitude/longitude), speed etc., and has no navigation function. It will also point you towards your destination but purely in vector form.

  • Nokia C7 GPS not working after belle update!

Hi everyone, i had a C7, working great till i updated it with symbian belle.
okay here is what i did.
-my GPS was working on symbian anna with maps version 3.06beta
-i updated the phone to symbian belle from symbian anna.
-installed nokia maps 3.06 beta, and replaced the one that came with the update because it had the option of route planning which the installed map did not.
-this was the first time i checked to see if the GPS was working after the update, and it did not work even after i stood in an open field for half an hour.
-i learned that the latest update of nokia maps in fact had route planning, so i used the nokia PC suite to reset the phone software, and then later updated everything that was listed in the software update app.
-my GPS could still not work after i stood in the same damn field for another half an hour.
-now it will just give approximate positions based on the wireless networks, and not give any accurate position, so i cant use it for navigation anymore.
-i tried running the gpsinfoqt app, and it keeps saying searching for a signal, but it never finds one!
Please help me!! if there is any way i could flash the C7 or run a diagnostic or something so atleast i figure what is wrong!

    Hi akkudub,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
Have you used Nokia Suite for the update?
I advise you to follow the steps below in order to get your GPS fully working again:
    1) Uninstall the current version of Nokia Suite that you have.
    2) Clean the registry with a registry cleaner.
    3) On your PC, go to Start > Run and type %temp% and click on "Run". Delete all Nokia folders from the folder that opens.
    4) Download the newest Beta version of Nokia Suite from this link:
    http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-suite-beta
You will need to sign in to your Nokia account - the same credentials used to log into this forum.
We will appreciate your feedback once you have tried this program!
Once Nokia Suite is installed, please connect your device to it and perform the available updates if any is available. Alternatively please reinstall the current software. Also, click on the Maps tab and download the relevant maps files (Europe, UK etc...)
Let us know how you get on and feel free to post any other questions you may have.

  • Nokia 6220 - GPS,Maps,Navigation Question

This may be a silly question but I'm a little confused over this
I am considering buying a 6220 (SIM free), mainly because it's an 'upgraded' version to my existing 6300.
The idea is instead of having a SAT NAV (for the occasional trips to places I've never been before) & a mobile phone & a MP3 player etc - I get an all-in-one in a small package
Now to the question - What is the difference between 'Nokia Maps' and 'Navigation' ?.
Apparently 'Nokia Maps' is free but 'Navigation' isn't
Am I right in assuming that 'Nokia Maps' only shows you where you are & Where you want to go BUT doesn't give constant updates as you drive/walk between the 2 - a bit like if you have a map & ask a passerby to shows you where you are & where you want to go on the map - but doesn't tell you how to get there (you have to figure it out yourself)
BUT 'Navigation' is where you can have it in the car & it tells you the directions ('take next left'/'3rd right at next roundabout' etc) each step of the way i.e. Just like a Car 'SAT-NAV' equivalent
I don't like the idea of paying for a 'satnav/phone/media player' combi-device then paying EXTRA so that you can use it as a SAT-NAV, especially if you only going to use it maybe once or twice in a year.

I think I have worked out what is going on here...
I hard reset my N95, installed the maps fresh (which took a very long time, but that is a different subject, so I won't get going on that)
I then checked if I could do full 7 digit postcode search while at home and still no, with "Network Use" set to "Never"
However, I have now come into the office, defined the wlan acess point (mine is broken at home) and set "Network Use" to "when needed" and I can do full 7 digit postcode search. If I then change that setting to "never" it reversts back to truncating the postcode.
I would appreciate if other N95 owners could confirm that this happens on their N95 too, and if so, it looks like maps is pulling additional info from somewhere to enchance the downloaded map.
You seem to be right. I cleared all the maps, then downloaded the maps for England using maploader and tested it. With network connection you can do full postcode search, but as soon as the internet connection is lost or turned off the system reverts back to truncating the postcode.
If you use the route planner while you have the network connection you can use the full postcode to set the destination point while having the GPS position as your starting point and the destination point gets stored as your destination.

  • Nokia Maps & Sync favorites on Belle N8 is no long...

I've just upgraded to Belle on my N8 (did a three finger reset and factory reset - then reinstalled Belle again)
i now go to the maps section and can no longer sync my favorites is it a known issue? is there a fix/ workaround ?anyone else have the same issue?
Your help and advice would be most helpful

    @Flexibug
Carrying out three finger reset upon Symbian S^3 device can still have repercussions and not to be undertaken lightly. Are there any issues with Nokia unified sign-in such as Nokia Store as well as Nokia Maps?
Certainly no issues with synchronising in Maps applicvation:

  • Is there an easy way to get GPS coordinates from Maps.app in Mavericks?

My DSLR doesn't have a GPS built in, but I like to Geo-tag some of my photos. I usually just take a pic with my iPhone and then copy the geo data (GPS coordinates) and paste into the photos (in Adobe Lightroom). Unfortunately, I didn't have my phone with me. I have the location stored as a bookmark in Maps, but I don't see any easy way to just pull coordinates.

    Hi,
I am doing the same thing too. I have to call my reports thru menu. I tried web.show_document in my menu and it works. I also added paramform=yes and it gives the report parameters, but I want to give the user the choice of format for the reports. eg. pdf, html, excel, etc. instead of hardcoding it.
Could you please give me some idea on how can I do that??
    Thanks.

  • GPS-status-bar disappeared from Nokia maps

Why isn't the little gps-status-bar shown anymore in my Nokia maps (3.04)?
Positions methode is set to 'integrated gps' only...
    Any thoughts?

It took a bit of getting used to at first but I am used to it now. That's the way it is with any change. Some people get used to and comfortable with things the way they are. Any change at all is uncomfortable but it will just be a matter of time before you get used to it and don't think any more of it.

  • View GPS tracks in Nokia Maps

Is there a possibility to view GPS tracks in Nokia Maps (1.2), e.g. if the track is in gpx or kml format? I tried several converters but the lmx file that I get only gives me waymarks but no routes or tracks. That's ok for short tracks but problematic for long tracks with a lot of waymarks. Is there any other way to deal with this?

  • Nokia GPS (Nokia Maps)

I had a Nokia N95, and now I have the Nokia 5800, and they both have the Nokia Maps on them, but I do not understand how to use it! Do we need anything? How is it used? Any help will be great!
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    nungon94.

The 5800 has two connections so to speak for the Maps .
One is the standard GPS =No Charge .
Two is the Assisted  A-GPS that connects via your phone networks internet service  for better triangulation/location
This is charged at whatever rate your  network provider charges  .
Recommendation with a new 5800 is to switch maps on and for the first satellite location also use A-GPS for a better first fix .
I have Nokia maps   Google maps  both no charge with A-GPS switched off .
However if i want Google to show  aerial view then it needs the internet connection .
Likewise my Trapster speed camera software requires internet connection .
I am with Virgin Mobile in the UK on PAYG and Internet charges are 30p a day up to 25MB usage . Check your providers charges on your package .

  • Show coordinates in Lumia Nokia Maps

There should be a dialog or other view to show the current location as coordinates in Nokia Maps. This kind of information can be needed in some cases and currently there is no support to get the coordinates.

    @tsirkia
Install GPSInfo a free aplication from Marketplace.

  • N96 GPS & Nokia Maps

Can someone please tell me how to use the N96 built-in GPS and also the Nokia Maps?? Also when using the GPS, would I use my sim-card credit??

Well first of all u will have to find out whether the country u live in is available in nokia maps. If its available u have to install the map to the phone. If u use the phones in-built GPS system u will not b charged.

  • Photo gallery linked to Nokia Map

    1. Open up the photo gallery.
    2. Pick a photo with GPS coordinates encoded.
    3. Option/show on map.
    4. Automatically launch Nokia Maps showing where that photo was taken. And navigate there.
That was a great feature on some older E Series. But sadly not available for N8 Anna & Maps 3.06. What about 3.08? Or Belle?

Are you sure you have uploaded everything in the gallery folder to the correct location. It can't find the index.html page.
