Belle on Nokia N8

Okay, ever since I updated from Symbian Anne to Belle, my phone has been unable to recognize my headphones (no, they are not defective, they work on other devices and, my audio plug port is not broken either), so, What should i do? Im guessing there will be an update fixing this problem soon, if not, i doubt ill ever buy a Nokia product ever again. Thanks in advance.

Dude! There's nothing wrong with headphones support in belle. Try a soft reset, nd a hard reset if soft doesn't work. Else, try reinstalling the firmware. Might help.

Symbian Belle for Nokia E6

Hi , Today I read on Nokia website , symbian belle is available for Nokia E6, is that correct? has anyone upgrade symbian anna to symbian belle

Better not to upgrade E6 to belle, I had upgraded it to Belle, Belle is good for Big Screen like N8 and E7 it is not good for E6, In one screen you can create only 8 shortcut, where as in anna in i thhnik it was more that 12.
I am not happy with Belle on my E6, offcourse my phone become faster, apart from that you will get less apps, like fring is not available, my son's favourate Frunit ninza is not available.
therefore final conclusion : do not go for upgrade to Belle on E6.
I will request nokia to release some new FW for Nokia E6, why because if it is a bussiness phone, at least provide -email, calender and clock in one home screen, right now which is not possible.

@Kevil and all Nokia official employees..plz take a look at this..what m goin to post is not officially issued by nokia..but there are post on internet stating that "Symbian Anna OS" on Nokia 5800 xpressMusic...there are tutorial available on sites..i tried it and see the diffrence..its just awsome...why don't nokia officially "DEVELOPE SUCH FIRWARE BY THERE OWN"????????/ MANY THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH 5800..THEN Y U GUYS ARE NOT PROVIDING???? N8 doesn't update to Symbian Belle via Nokia Suit...

i cannot update my Nokia N8 to Symbian Belle. Nokia Suite says: Software cannot be installed. Your device ist at he moment not compatible with the available software. Please try later. When ist Symbian Belle available for me. product code: 059D5C3. Have Nokia Suite reinstalled but nothing happend. Who can help?

1st, check if there is room on your device for such a update (on your device not your memory card)
And like it said try again later, which means wait a day

N8 Belle refresh: Nokia Suite Backup has problems ...

Since I installed the Belle refresh on my N8 the backup of Nokia Suite 3.5.34 has difficulties to safe Documents.
Only after restarting the N8, the backup works.I assume some documents are locked. This was never a problem before.
What are these documents and where are they located in the N8. I have not created any documents myself.

Having sold my Lumia I bought 808 PureView, owned previously N8. In my view, Symbian Belle is a great system, much better than Windows Phone and you do not need to sacrifice your privacy as much as with WP. The only one thing I wish Nokia could improve, is the speed of reading emails, web browsing and installation of apps from Ovi Store. I do not know why it still so slow as 808 PureView has double fast processor clock compared to N8?
And unfortunately 808 PureView still has a bug they introduced with Symbian Belle - bluetooth connection with some hands-free car devices do not work correctly, eg. with Bury CC9045 V04. You do not hear the first incoming call, need to drop it and wait for a second call.
Apart from above, it is a great phone!

Problems installing Belle on nokia N8 - connection...

SOLUTION : in combination with win XP SP3 and nokia suite, trying to upgrade the N8 to belle, you get the error message connection lost. Try a diffretn computer with win 7. Install the nokia suite and and then upgrade the phone. This solution worked for me.

Symbian Belle glitches - Nokia developers please t...

I have recently purchased a new Nokia 701 after much thought. Here are the glitches I faced with Belle.
1. I have set my screen brightness to the minimum. When i'm in a lowly lit area, the brightness decreases accordingly, but after my light time out period, when the lights are supposed to turn off altogether, it glows brighter for a while. If touch the screen, it darkens again. The opposite of what's supposed to happen.
2. Asphalt 6 HD LAGS ON MY 701. Unacceptable on a phone that has better hardware and newer software than an N8 (the game runs fine on my friend's Anna running N8). I checked, no background applications were running.
3. i have set the notifications light to flash for 30 minutes after an event. But it seems that alongside the notifications light, the screen too remains turned on and displays black. But i'm not too sure about this.
4. During a call, if I lock the screen and keys, it turns off okay. But if my finger or any obstacle accidentally goes near the proximity sensor, the screen turns on and displays black throughout the length of the call unless i unlock and lock the screen again.
5. There is no way to access the maps i've downloaded for a place, offline. I open Ovi maps and turn Wifi and EDGE off. Then I can't browse through the maps for the area I've downloaded. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, in which case someone please help me out.
6. For just the first time I scroll through the main menu (everytime I open it), it lags a lot. It doesn't lag once I'm through scrolling for the first time. You might call me a nitpicker, but I expect more from a phone with a 1Ghz CPU and 512 MB RAM. Running an OS that is going to be launched soon for a phone with lower hardware specs than the 701, the N8.

and yes, the preloaded QuickOffice refuses to launch. I get the circling application loading ring for a few seconds and that's it.

any chance that belle will be available as soon as possible to Nokia 500 users worldwide that can fix a lot of issues with 500 like the constant restar, hangin, the low memory message with camera app and the system error with maps app and the system error message that comes for no reason sometimes

What kind of moderation is this? Nokia itself has announced that the belle update will be available starting February this year. Why the word February been deleted in the above post? There is nothing unofficial about February release of Nokia belle because it was Nokia who announced this news. Even Nokia's Facebook page declares February release. Have some kind of logic in moderation.

Really, I had a little disappointment when I bought my nokia 500. I expected to find impressive transition effects when changing between menus or when I bend the phone (changing view landscape/portrait)...
Surely, these effects will not be available for nokia 500 after nokia belle update, although its 2D graphics capabilities...
I watch other customization firmwares for Anna on the nokia 500 with these effects enabled and more FPS and they they can be seen incredibly soft and fluid... (you cand find it in internet)
Please, don't disable them!!!

Reinstalling Belle - The Nokia Suite update servic...

I have a C6-01 I used before getting a Lumia and I want to give it to someone else. Before doing so, I wanted to reinstall Nokia Belle to remove everything I had on the phone's memory and to give the phone away with a fresh installation of the OS.
The problem is that when I go to Software Update in Nokia Suite and click reinstall, Nokia Suite downloads 170MB out of the ~320MB that Nokia Belle has and then says "The Nokia Suite update service is currently unavailable." I've already tried this on two PCs, both running the latest version of Nokia Suite. I reinstalled the OS once before about a year ago and it worked just fine. Any ideas about why this might be happening and what I can do to solve it? I've looked around and found a lot of other people who have had this problem over the years but I haven't managed to find a way to get through it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I just tried using Nokia Software Recovery Tool. It recognizes my phone and immediately after I click Install and the download progress bar appears, it says something went wrong ("There was an error. Please try again. Error code: InternalError.")
Is there anything else I can try?
Edit: I also tried using Nokia Software Updater for Retail and the same thing happens. Then I tried using Nokia Care to download the firmware and it still doesn't work. It finds it, says it has 320MB, and when I click download, it just says it's been queued for download and that's it, nothing else happens.

No FP1 for older S^3 devices, and Nokia doesn't issue dates for their SW updates, so you'll have to wait.....
