Bending in Z Space

Is there any effect or pulgin that would allow a 3d image to be able to bend in Z space. I am trying to make a believable wing effect so I need to bend it in z space to make it appear that the wings are flapping.

  • Can't mount Android phone; Why not?  {or, How to uninstall Mark/Space software?}

    Ladies and Gents...
There's a Heritic in the building...
I'm a loyal T-Mobile customer, and I finally gave up on waiting for the iPhone.
So, I'm moving from my LEMON of a BlackBerry 8900 over to an Android phone:  A Samsung Galaxy S II.
But, I'm having trouble mounting it via USB cable to ONE of our TWO Mac Minis.
It would seem that SOMETHING is wrong about the second one, but I sure can't figure out what to uninstall, reinstall, etc.
Here follows my description of the two computers.
    {A description of what happens can be seen "down-page".}
    =====
This is the description of my wife's Mac Mini.
I'll call it the FIRST computer because things DO happen correctly on this machine.

    Here's my own computer.
I'll call it the "Second" one, as it's the one that does NOT connect to the SGS2.

    =====
When I'm seated in front of my wife's Mac Mini,
I select on the Android (Samsung Galaxy S II) the following:
Settings > Wireless and Network > USB utilities.
On the window that then appears, it states:
       USB mass storage
Tap the button below to copy files between the computer and SD card.
       [Connect storate to PC]
Note that at this point the micro USB cable has NOT yet been connected.
I click the button, and this dialog box pops up:
       USB utilities
Connect USB cable to use mass storage.
       [Cancel]
I connect the cable, (and I do not press the button)...
The tan or "baby-puke green" Android symbol pops up on the top third of the screen, with a USB symbol in the place of its upraised left hand.
    Beneath that is this text:
       USB connected
You have connected your phone to your computer via USB.  Select the button below if you want to copy files between your computer and your android's USB storage
       [Connect USB storage]
Please note:  The above DOES appear on our first Mac Mini (my wife's).
However, it only briefly FLASHES on the screen when connected to (my own) second Mac Mini.
I press the [Connect USB storage] button...
    I get this dialog box:
       Connect USB storage
Connecting USB storage will stop some applications in use.  They may not be available until you disconnect USB storage.
       [ OK ]  [ Cancel ]
    I click on OK.
The clockwise spinning circle briefly appears in the bottom of the screen, then my phone and micro SD card appear in the "DEVICES" section of an open Finder window of our 1st Mac Mini.  I can transfer files back and forth on our first Mac Mini.
Remaining on the screen of the Android (SGS2) is the green android and this message:
       USB storage in use
Before turning off USB storage, make sure you have unmounted ("ejected") your Android's USB storage from your computer.
       [Disconnect storage from PC]
As indicated earlier, I can transfer files.  Instead, I now click the "eject" icon for both the microSD card and the phone, then click on the above "[Disconnect storage from PC] button.  All is copacetic on this Mac.
NOW...    Moving over to MY Mac Mini...
I repeat the above steps, but when prompted to attach the cable, the baby-puke green android briefly flashes on the screen, then a screen wipe takes him away and reverts to the following message:
       USB mass storage
Tap the button below to copy files between the computer and SD card.
       [Connect storage to PC]
    nuts.
I've been doing this over and over and over again, there is just no getting around this.  There is SOMETHING about my own Mac Mini that's causing a problem with mounting the Android phone.
The only plausible expanation that I can think of is:
Before R.I.M. released the Macintosh version of their "Blackberry Desktop Manager" application software, I had to purchase a compeditor's product and install it.
    {I'm sorry to say that I can not be certain of what the product was called;
I _reasonably_sure_ that it was "Missing Sync for Blackberry" by "Mark/Space".
    A distant second possibility is "PocketMac for the Blackberry", but I can NOT be absolutely certain of either item.}
To this day, I am not convinced that the first sync software I used was sucessfully or correctly UNinstalled.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
What do I need to locate/fix/remove, and how, etcetera?
    =====
p.s.:  It occurs to me that this is first and second a question of:
    - How, so long after the fact, do I delete all the old files that were associated with the "Mark/Space" software,
    and
    - Is the presence of the "Blackberry Desktop Manager" software on a Mac Mini's OS X 10.6.8 system going to create problems syncing to an Android?

Safe Mode (booting while holding down Shift key) should have disabled all the Login items, as well as any non-Apple startup items, including the launchd items.
I'm out of "Easy" ideas, and anything I say after this, is just wild ideas, so feel free to ignore me.
Have you tried different USB cables?  Maybe there is an issue with the USB connector, or the way you have to bend things to access your Mac mini USB ports is different from accessing your Wife's Mac mini USB ports?
Try alternate USB ports.  Maybe there is a bad/marginal port/connector.
Try removing all your existing USB devices.  If you are using a USB keyboard and/or mouse, try using a different USB keyboard and/or mouse (maybe borrow them from your Wife's Mac mini).  Basically remove all other USB devices and replace the essential keyboard and mouse with known good ones).
Desperate measure (Backup first before proceeding down this path).  Using a Firewire cable, boot your Wife's Mac mini into Firewire Target Mode.  Connect a Firewire cable between your Mac mini and your Wife's while your Wife's is in Target Mode.  Now boot your Mac mini holding down the "Option" key, and select your Wife's Mac mini's disk to boot from.   Essentially you will be using your hardware and your Wife's software to see if you have a hardware issue, or if it is a software issue.  That is to say if it works with your Mac mini booted from your Wife's boot disk, then your hardware is fine, but there is something wrong with your software.  If it does not work, then it is your hardware.
Hopefully, you Wife will not kill you for even mentioning this.  ALSO, if you do try this, BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP first, especailly her system.  Not that anything will go wrong, but if it does, the last thing you want is an annoyed Wife :-)  BACKUP!

  • Array to spreadsheet string - remove space after delimiter

    Hi
I created a Labview program to acquire a electrical signal and send it using TCP/IP.
The image in attachment shows a piece of my code. The AQ subVI was created by me to accomplish the acquisition.
However, the string that the "array to spreadsheet string" VI returns is something like this:
    -0.800781^ -1.030273^ -1.098633^ -0.942383^ -0.644531^ -0.209961^ 0.258789^ 0.712891^
The VI is using the ^ character as a delimiter and it is converting commas to points as decimal separators.
Now, what i would like to do is to remove the space character between the ^ character and the sample value, simply because that is what the receiver of the TCP/IP message wants.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance

  • Pixel Bender Gallery Error in Photoshop CS4 Student Edition

When trying to access pixel bender filters with Photoshop CS4, filters>Pixel Bender>Pixel Bender Gallery, I get an Error dialog images as follows...
I have read the ReadMe file and have the GeForce 8500 GT Video Card on this list.
The Pixel Bender Toolkit is installed at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Utilities\Pixel Bender Toolkit c/w pbk filters that run in the toolkit.
In Photoshop there are a number of pbk filters in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Pixel Bender Files.
The Operating system for the computer is Windows XP Professional c/w service pack 2 at least.
My question is... why am I getting this error message and how can It be fixed?

Here are two further images and an NVIDIA System Information report you asked for that I have prepared, I hope this will help.
I am aware that I could download trial versions of Photoshop CS5 and its Pixel plugin version, but first, this first image shows a message that loads from Photoshop CS4 when I start the program and has always done so from day one of owning the machine and the software, could this be of relevence to what could be the root of the issue at hand.
I also use 3D Studio Max with OpenGL and have noted rotating moving objects in 3D space of a file size of 10MB is very slow and chuggie, is this relevent, does this information give any clues.
Thankyou again for your time and effort in helping me resolve Pixel Bender Gallery Error issue.

  • Pixel Bender... I do not have the appropriate permission...

I get this message consistenly on  all attempts: either installing pixel bender in extension manger as well  as launching xmp plug in by itself.
"You do not have  appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your  system administrator to obtain permission."
    I tried this:
    the "Is -alFod" procedure in the terminal.app;
Re: Pixel Bender... I do not have the appropriate permission...
    1. Open the Utilities directory within the Applications directory.
    2. Launch the application, "Terminal.app."
    3. Type "ls -alFod " (case is important and note the space at the end) in the terminal but do not press enter/return.
    4.   Drag and drop the Pixel Bender Extension Manager package,   "pixelbenderplugin_p2_64bit_090910.mxp," onto the window in   "Terminal.app."
    5. Press enter/return.
    6. Copy the contents of the window and report them here.
    gives me this result:

It's  not clear to me how you can get into a state where the ls command  cannot be found. Do you have admin rights on your mac? Regardless,  please start a new thread, with details about the problem you're  encountering. Thanks.
My admin rights is to an extent that i can bequeath the unit to anyone as I please.
Problems encountered is as stated on the first post, exactly like the problems encountered as posted by Brabusa60's; and the Is -alFod procedure at Terminal.app returns an unlikely response.

Sorry for the untimely response. I had internet troubles.
here are the terminal.app the output for these:
    ls -alFo ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/
    ls -alFo ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Extension\ Manager\ CS5/
    ls -alFo /Applications/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS5/
Last login: Mon Apr 13 21:13:57 on console
    CatiMac:~ cat$ ls -alFo ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/

Even though I had read write permission then I was only able to succesfully install after I enabled "root" user.
    nevertheless, thank you for responding

  • Space Designer tutorial ?

    Hi dears,
i need to found Space Designer tutorial files, i need for sampling a room.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, and the method I described allows you to make a sine sweep, defining the time of the sweep, and the start and end frequencies. It's in the test oscillator, there's a button you can press called sweep. Once you have set the settings, press the button that has x1 written on it. Guess what happens... A sine sweep! If, for some reason, you don't like that method, then all of Logic's synths can create sine waves, although it will be harder to get it to sweep fully as you need to define the pitchbending and then automate it. I'm not sure it the bender will go that far...
Seriously, the way I described is the way to do it. I really suggest you have another try, as it will work.

  • Failure to install PS update 12.0.2 now seen in Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5

I spent several hours with Adobe support yesterday and the day before trying to resolve a failed install for CS5 PS update 12.0.2. Apparently, this is now a known (and acknowledged) problem and an effort to fix is underway. This a.m. I noticed the Adobe updater was prompting me to download and install not only PS 12.0.2, but also update 2.5 for Flash Pro CS5 Adobe Pixel Bender. I'm writing this to report that the installations for both products failed this time. Apparently the install problems are not limited to PS. My very reliable software platform is Win XP (SP3) with plenty of disk space, memory and processor power.

Does anyone know why it would fail on this update? I was able to do some of the earlier updates, but then failed on these.
    When I clicked help->Updates,
    These shows up for me.

  • Sticky space bar - help!

I spilled OJ on my keyboard and though I got it wiped up immediately, the space bar is now kind of sticky. I've pulled the keyboard off but don't know if I can now pull the space bar off to clean it. I also don't know if I can use some type of alcohol or not. Any suggestions from those in the know would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!
    gtpoet

you can pull off the space bar, but do it carefully, as well as the plastic bits that actully clip the bar to the underlying pieces, there are two thin metal pins/rods clipped to the bar that hook under a couple of metal tabs - you don't want to bend/break them
start by lifting up the top edge of the bar, rotating it around an imaginary hinge along its lower edge, until the clips begin to release, then once the clips are all released slide it a little towards the front of the pb to free the metal pins from under the tabs
you can wash the pins/bar in soapy water and dry it with tissue, if there's sticky stuff on the switches or the rest of the assemble then remove it using damp paper towel or cotton bud, it might take several clean pieces to remove all the gunk
to replace the bar, slide it in from the from to get the larger pins under the tabs, then rotate it down to hook the other pins in, then line it up in the correct position and clip it back onto the switches

  • Pixel Bender authoring tools

I have a few questions about the Pixel Bender authoring tools
when Pixel Bender is officially released. I hope someone can answer
these for me or point me towards the answers.
    1) Will the Pixel Bender Toolkit be freely available? If not,
will it become a part of Flash CS4, After Effects CS4 and Flex
    Builder 3.2?
    2) Will the command line compiler be freely available, along
    with a language specification?
    3) Is the Pixel Bender format open, so that we can expect
third-party development tools? [The answer seems at least partially
yes, since Conduit for Pixel Bender has made its appearance]
To clarify where I'm coming from: I own Photoshop CS4 and
Flex Builder 3 and I'm looking forward to create Photoshop plug-ins
using Pixel Bender. It would make for some nice speed gains,
cross-platform compatibility and a lot less hassle than the PS SDK,
for those plug-ins that don't require the SDK functionality. I have
no need for Flash, so it would be a shame if I had to buy it to
    generate Pixel Bender bytecode.
    Thanks!
    Simon

Kevin, thank you for answering. My major concern was that in
order to write pieces of code for one of the Adobe programs, people
would need to buy another (expensive) program, such as Flash. I'm
    happy that's not the case.
As to my point (3), I understand the decision to keep the
run-time Adobe-only (for now) and by 'open' I was indeed referring
    mostly to authoring tools.
    Thanks again!
    Simon
Oh, I'm not sure whether this is the correct place, but let
me sneak in a feature request in relation to Photoshop: it would be
really great if the Pixel Bender plug-ins for Photoshop would get
the option to be supplied with color data in a standard color
space, such as RIMM RGB (used in ACR/Lightroom). That way, the
plug-ins would effectively be color managed, without the hassle of
performing color transformations inside the kernel.

  • Pixel Bender will not install

I downloaded Pixel Bender and have tried both auto and manual install into my
Photoshop 5> Extension Manager, but it keeps telling me that it cannot install
into my 32 bit Photoshop 5 PC program. Also installed Adobe Air in case I needed
    it.
    Message I keep getting is...
"Extension can not be installed, it requires 32 bit or 64bit Photoshop ver5 or later"
What could I be doing wrong for it to not install?
I've got plenty of memory and disk space along with an Intel i5
processor. I've installed all updates to my Photoshop 5 that I purchased
      when it first came out.
    ....Ellen

    Thanks for your response.
Photoshop is running in 32-bit mode, as most of my plug ins are not yet 64 bit.
This error dialog appears before the gallery opens.
All my images are under 4096 px wide. I tried using a much smaller image. Same message.
I tried increasing the available memory in preferences. Same message.
I tried lowering the available memory in preferences. Same message.
My Mac Mini has an NVidia 9500M, which is listed as one of the cards that support GPU processing for Pixel Bender. Memory is shared with the CPU, but that should not be relevant - many others would have had my complaint if that mattered.

  • Turning a Photoshop action into a pixel bender script

We have a photoshop action that takes images and 'plasticifies' them. Specifically the action performs several filters that we're looking to convert into pixel bender scripts so that the action can be performed in Flash. I'm trying to discover if there are existing examples to perform these actions, and if not if it would be possible to create them. The filters that are being used are:
    surface blur
    diffuse
    layer copy
    high pass filter
    layer overlay
    hue / saturation
    shadow / highlight
    unsharp mask
I've attached the script to the post for reference and provided an example below. If this isn't something that we could combine several pre-existing filters together, would someone be up for working with me to create this or provide some guidance on how to move forward?

The Bilateral Blur in After Effects is implemented in Pixel Bender. It  was tricky to get the best possible performance for it. Pixel Bender  works pretty well for Anistropic filtering as well, we are doing that  now for some new stuff.

I think in the GPU each basic variable (Pixel) is a vector of 4. Applying something on 4 of items in the vector or only 1 would "cost" the same.Someone of the AIF could confirm it?
This is sort of true. We do take advantage of the vector types to generate SSE code, but we do it not only within a pixel, but also across multiple pixels so a pixel1 value within your kernel may be computed with pixel1 values from neighboring pixels to improve performance. In general, it is best to write your code naturally and then only look to optimizing at this level if performance is unacceptable and the more obvious problems (minimizing conditional branching, for example) do not solve your problem.
        Kevin
Kevin, how do you iterate in the Anisotropic Filter?
One the things I miss is to loop a graph or something like that to iterate over the image.
Regarding the Bilateral Filter, My first PB kernel was a Gaussian Blur, just to get the feeling.
At first I didn't use its separability property.
    It was slow, very slow!
For the Bilateral Filter you have to do even more operations. Unless you implemented its "Separable Bilateral" approximation, Or any other known optimization (Grids, Linear Approximation, etc...).
What about the GPU case regarding what I wrote?
Let's set I convert the image into LAB space and perform Gaussian Blur and each time only operate one CurrentPixel.r (The first item in the "Pixel" vector), will that make any performance difference?
Or even make it completely different. Creating a node which take as input image4 and output of image1 (L Channel). Then Gaussian Blur (2 Nodes) on image1, would that be faster (Again, GPU wise)?
    Thanks.

  • Is there any way to bend, curve an Image in Motion?

Is there anyway to bend, curve an image in Motion or are we stuck in 2D space?
What I'm after is to bend, curve an image around a circle on the floor, not the whole circle but just part of it to get that curved look if that makes any sense.
I have searched everywhere and the only thing I found was a plugin from Zacwerks.

    Hi,
My U350's space bar feels particularly flimsy compared to the other keys. It appears that my space bar area is 'buckled' upward. I can push down on the space bar (the keys flexes downward for at least 1 mm) and make it go flatter, which gives it a much better feel. THe right half of my space key sticks up visibley higher than the left half.
I am wonder if my keyboard is missing a screw near the space bar. Anyone know how many screws are used to secure the keyboard? I found  2 on the bottom and 3 more underneath the battery. Any more? Or anyone kow how i can remove the keyboard?
    THanks.
    -Jeff

    I figured it out!
The keyboard for the U350 is held down by 3 screws and 2 tabs. 2 of the screws are on the back casing and one is underneath the battery pack (the screw that's closer to the front of the front of the machine) The tabs are the tiny silver plastic 'stops' located at the left alt key and center right of the space bar at the front edge of the keyboard. To remove the keyboard, take out the two screws, then push in the tabs inward (toward the front of the laptop) very gently, then lift up the front of the keyboard.
My problem was that the tab at the space bar did not catch the bottom frame of the keyboard. I took a very thin edge and lightly bended the tab outward til it catches the keyboard. Now the keyboard types like a dream!
Maybe this info will be helpful to someone in the future!

  • In order to create space on my MBA I just bumped iTunes media to G drive linked through Time Capsule.  Now pointed iTunes at new iTunes libary on G drive and, even though all music files are there, iTunes can only 'see' 10 albums. Any help appreciated.

    Bit more detail...
Mac Book Air has been struggling for space for a while so I bough at time capsule a) for back up and b) to host my itunes folder remotely.  This didnt' work.  I took it into the Genius bar and the genius there told me that time capsule is not designed for anything other than back up.  Instead I have to connect a G drive through the time capsule's wireless router to my MBA.
I followed his instructions - moved my files from the Time Capsule and MBA directly onto the G Drive - which took a heartening 2 hrs so something must have been happening - and the held down 'Alt' when starting iTunes and selected the new itunes folder as the location of my itunes libarary which I wanted iTunes to 'point at'.  When I opened iTunes only 10 albums are visible now.
In ITunes advanced preferences it says it is pointing at the correct folder.  The files are all cleary there when I open the G Drive folder to take a look.  But I cannot get iTunes to find them.
    Any suggestions?
Secondary challenge - in spite of deleting the original itunes folder on my MBA I still get messages pop up telling me my start up disk is out of space and I need to clear some - I expected to stop getting this message now I had done this exercise above.  I have emptied Trash.  Again - any pointers appreciated.  I am new to this world of 'intuitive' macbooks.
    Cheers

After admittedly only a quick read the one thing you don't say is how you are trying to make this move.  Most people with moving library issues do it the wrong way.  Plenty of web sites tell you how to do it the wrong way.
If the iTunes application is started before the drive with the library is fully mounted and awake iTunes will revert back to the internal drive.

  • NULL and Space value in ABAP

    Hi All,
I like to know, is it NULL and Space value is same in ABAP, if it is not how to check null value.
    Thank you.
    Senthil

everything is correct though some answers are not correct.
A Database NULL value represents a field that has never been stored to database - this saving space, potentially.
Usually all SAP tables are stored with all fields, empty fields are stored with their initial value.
But: If a new table append is created and the newly-added fields do not have the 'initial value' marked in table definition, Oracle will just set NULL values for them.
as mentioned: There is no NULL value to be stored in an ABAP field. The IS NULL comparison is valid only for WHERE clause in SELECT statement. WHERE field = space is different from WHERE field IS NULL. That's why you should check for both specially for appended table fields.
If a record is selected (fulfilling another WHERE condition) into an internal table or work area, NULL values are convertted to their initial values anyway.
Hope that sheds some light on the subject!
    regards,
    Clemens
