Benefits Declaring Smoker Non Smoker and Rates Based on Choice

We have requirements from out Benefits department as follows: have an affidavit on the Open Enrollment page on which an employee declares non-tobacco user, tobacco user, or tobacco user but signing up for cessation program. There will be one set of rates for non-user and signing up for a cessation program, and another set of rates for tobacco use. Has anyone configured the system for the same or similar requirements? How did you do it? We use Self Service for Open Enrollment. We have no problem configuring different rates, but want to know options for configuring something to use to declare smoker and non-smoker and the mechanism for displaying only the correct set of rates depending on the choice. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Non FQDN and IP based access

We have SharePoint 2013 published through UAG and everything works fine using FQDN http://site.company.com. In addition to this we would like to make http://shortname and http://1.2.3.4 (IP address) available to users as well but this must also run
through UAG.
Is there any way to accomplish this? I cant seem to figure out how to tell UAG to also respond on other names (or plain IP) for a given trunk.
Seems like a simple thing, I am clearly missing something?

There are several problems with your scenario:
1. In general, UAG supports only one "Public Host Name" - this is because as part of the authentication phase, the UAG needs to do some redirects and those redirects use absolutes links with the public hostname.
2. The UAG is most cases use SSL, when using SSL, you need to place a certificate that will match the public hostname, so if the certificate is set for the fqdn and the user type IP address - they will get an SSL warning claiming the site they are trying
to access have a certificate for a wrong host name ...
3. Specifically for SharePoint (and other applications with a public hostname) the UAG require to use a domain cookie. This is well described in the beginning of the following old IAG kb (AAM used to be the name for "Application Specific hostname" in
the old IAG):

The standard table is A305. But usually these tables can be customized based on the requirement. So if you are aware about the Condition type for which this Price/Rate is maintained you can find the same in VK13.
In transaction code VK13, maintain the condition type and click on "Condition information" icon. Now dont maintain any input date. Just click on Execute icon or F8. System will give the list of all the tables and data maintained based on the combination.
Select the required table.In SE11, maintain this table with prefix as A. You can get all the required information.

Despite smoke and sparks, it seems to work...

Earlier today I was servicing my Powerbook (Ti, 1GHz), and while disconnecting the backup battery cable from the logic board I bumped the adjacent capacitor with a ring. There was a sprark, a wisp of smoke, and a funny smell (also some pain in my finger).
However, upon reassembling the powerbook it started up without a problem. I didn't leave it on for longer than it took to start up as I was eager to test it (I was installing a new display) and neglected to apply a new coat of thermal transfer material to the heat exchanger (because I don't have any and which I intend to get Friday)
Though it seems to be working, is there anything I should do/avoid doing to prevent any possible problems (besides replacing the logic board)?

If any damage has already occurred, I can think of nothing preventative to be done about it; you'll just have to wait and see how things work when repair is complete and you're able to put the PB through its paces. I can't imagine any further damage to other components due to using the PB after the mishap could be foreseen, nor is it likely.
Glad to hear you're taking care of the heat paste; I've wondered if some of the heat issues I've read about here after logic board replacements might be due to lack of heat paste or applying it improperly.

Need std and non-std baud rates on PXI-8420 (16 channel RS232)

I found a similar request on the knowledge base, and the resolution was possibly NI would make a card on a case-by-case basis.
I need the forementioned PXI card to support std and non-std baud rates (i.e. not a simple xtal change, and the software sets up for 57.6 Kbaud, and it is really 62.5 Kbaud) that is easily configured in LabVIEW/VISA.
The rates I need are as follows:
All std rates (i.e. 1200,2400,4800,9600,...)
10.4K (possible with std ports, but unsure about NI hardware and VISA).

The golden rule in serial (UART) communication, is that if two communicating partners are within +-2% of each other, they'll happily communicate error-free. Since you often only know one side of the equation, the window narrows to +-1%.
Next, take a look at how baud rates are calculated. On most NI-Serial hardware, there is a 7.3728 MHz oscillator that is divided by 16 (to create the what I'll call the 'base' frequency), and then divided again by a divisor latch. A divisor latch value of 1 yields 460800, 2 = 230400, 3 = 153600, etc. This is where the 'standard' baud rates come from.
However, on some OS's, we divide the clock source again by 4 before it hits the divisor latch. This means 1 = 115200, 2 = 57600, etc. While this does creat
e a set of 'standard' baud rates, it also limits the number of possible baud rates. This is something that will be fixed in the future.
Now hopefully the following table will make sense. In systems that have a base of 460800, we support baud rates that are within +-1% of the following (baudrates marked with * are supported in 115200 base systems):

10.4k is supported in both systems at the baud rate 10472.
If you're running at 62.5k when set to 57.6k, then you're likely using a 8 Mhz Oscillator. In this case, you have a base of 500000, and with a divisor latch value of 48 you'll be running at 10416. This cor
responds to a 'normal' baud rate setting of 9600. So if you set your modified card to 9600, you should get 10.416k.

Smoke and burnt rubber smell

I have a 15" powerbook, less than a year old. When working on it this morning, smoke started coming from the left side of the keyboard, and i had a burn rubber smell. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this? I am going to bring it in to an authorized repair place, but thought I would see if anyone else had had this problem....

I am working on some issues and created a test account. For some reason, in this second acct it becomes much hotter than in my regular acct and I have smelled the burning plastic but do not have the smoke (and hope I dont).
I am guessing that you have checked that your battery is not in the recall.

Sysgen : How to read the input port data type, width and rate dynamically in a masked subsystem ?

Hello everybody,
     I am designing a general purpose block in system generator. I pass the user parameters to the block through masking it. Some user parameters can change the block configuration. The input port data type, width and rate can also affect the block configuration.
     The problem is that these values (input port data type, width and rate) are subject to change. So I should read them dynamically, then change the block configuration through programming the "Initialization Commands" field. But unfortunately there is no straight way to read the input port information.
     There are some methods in for example the "Black Box". these are:
input_width = this_block.port('din').width;
input_rate = this_block.port('din').rate;
But these methods are not applicable to a masked subsystem.
I have tried other ways also. You can find them below. None of them worked.
Does anybody know how can I solve this problem?

Today we rely on Simulink to perform parameterization of your designs in two ways:
Parameterizable Subsystems and Blocks : Parameters themselves can be MATLAB expressions that need to be evaluated for which we need the MATLAB interpreter

Also parameterization of a block can be composed of Matlab expressions using variables from ancestor masks & the MATLAB interpreter – so we will need to somehow capture that as well.

Updating charts and datagrids based on selection

I am trying to find some documentation and samples explaining how I can pick something in a combobox and have it populate a series of datagrids and charts.
OUTLINE:
A. Using an XML table of all municipalities in our region populate a combobox. Then have the user select the municipality they are interested in.
B.Take a census table that is in XML format and by using HTTPServices read it into Flex and then based on what municipality the user selected populate a datagrid and variety of charts with data pertaining to the muni.
I know it is done because I see it all the time and took a class last week where it was shown. Unfortunately it was the last day of the class and time was running out so we just got a brief overview of this.
I would greatly appriciate anyone who can point me to samples and documentation whether it be online or in books. And I should mention that terminology is still an issue. Am I attempting to do a custom event or what?
The code below all works. What I mean I am successfully populating the combobox and the datagrid with the appropriate data. I am just not able to get the two communicating with each other. In other words the datagrid is showing the entire table and ignoring the combobox.

Front End for BW 3.5 and Java based application

We are trying to connect two systems; SAP based (through BW) and Non-SAP based (Sybase, Java based) applications. We are exploring BI Java SDK with UDDI or XI services to bring Non-SAP data to NetWeaver. We don't want to store all data from sybase to BW. We could use Front end of BW or any other GUI from SAP Portal. I have heard options like UI, GUI machine, net weaver developer studio, visual composer. Ideally, we would like to combine non-sap and sap data in Business explorer/BW web browser but any other front end suggestion within Net weaver frame work will help us keep our cost down. Please advise.

We're in the middle of upgrading from 3.1 SP 22 BW w/6.20 SAPGUI. We've only upgraded a sandbox BW server at this point, but we have upgraded all BW team members with SAPGUI 6.40 FEP 5 and can successfully connect to our 3.5 and 3.1 BWs.

Problems working with non drop and drop frame DVCPRO HD material in project

I am having playback problems with my non drop frame HDV material. It stutters.
All of our projects up to this point have been shot in drop frame. During our last shoot however the Bcam was recorded in non drop. I loaded both the non drop bcam tapes as non drop and the drop frame Acam tapes as drop. All of the drop frame Acam material plays back fine in the source viewer and the timeline. The non drop Bcam material seems to randomly stutter in the source viewer, or causes the system to serve a "dropped frames warning" in the timeline.
Is there a bug with fcp 5.1.2 about mixing non drop and drop frame material in a project. Or is this not possible? They are the same frame rate.
I have exported the non drop clips in a drop frame timeline and re-imported them as drop frame clips - thus correcting the problem. Is this the best solution?
All of the material was loaded thru a kona card as 1080i60 DVCPROHD 29.97
I had no problems capturing the material as long as I used the corrrect firewire setting (ndf vs df).
Anyone have a problem like this? I would greatly appreciate a response.

The camera can record 60i, and 30F:
"HDV 1080, 50i/60i/30F/25F Recording and Playback capable"
Look at the clips...look at their frame rates. What do they say? Is one 59.94? Is the other 29.97?
You would never need to render if you mixed NDF and DF footage. The footage runs at the same speed, on the TC numbers are different. But, you would need to render if your footage had different frame rates. LOOK AT THE CLIPS.

there is not much into it really...
you just select your model project, right click and select new and in the wizard, choose Business Components from tables.
You should, at least have a database schema with at least one PK and FK declarations.
the wizard will take care of everything else.

Yes. Numbered status are mutually exclusive ie. succeding status resets previously set status.
My requirement is like this: I have 3 numbered status and 2 non numbered status. Lets say, the first numbered status & two numbered status are set at the begining. Now when I click the second numbered status, both the numbered status and two non numbered status should be automatically reset. Only numbered status is getting reset and not the other two.
