Benefits in India

Hi all,
For a client in India, we need to configure Health Insurance plan. For this plan, employee can choose to increase the coverage by paying a premium. Also client would need Miscellaneous plans to be configured. Client is hell bent upon using standard SAP with no/min customization.
My questions:
1. Can we use the Benefits module provided by SAP for this? I heard that this module is best designed for US/Canada/UK. How much of this can we use for India based on the above requirements?
2. Does Claims by employees come under Benefits?
3. What things to look out for in terms of customization?
4. Would the Benefits module be integrated with India PY?
Any thoughts around this would help.
Regards
Pramod

Hi,
Benifit concept is basically for US payroll and for INDIA its not applicible.  If you want to configure Health Insurance plan type for india go with payroll  -  payrol india - RAP nodes and runpc00_m40_repm for claims As per my knowledge but IT 0015 to be maintained
And ink to IT 0589
This is my opinion so kindly wait for expert veiw
Thanks

  • Reg: Benefits and claims

    Hi gurus,
Need your immediate response. What is Benefits and claims, Is this separate HCM module or part of Payroll? If it is belongs to payroll, I need the information related to Indian payroll. Kindly share some useful information on Benefits and claims.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Narayana

    Dear Venkat,
Benefits and Claims are part of Payroll and not separate modules in SAP.
Claims: In India payroll context, in SPRO there is a node for Claims configuration, pls go thorough the node and its documentation.
Benefits: In India payroll context, there is no separate node for Benefits configuration.
ESI, EPF, Gratuity come under definition of Social/Statutory benefits, we have separate nodes for the configuration of these benefits under India payroll.
In International payroll context, there is a separate node for Benefits configuration, pls go through the steps and documentation available against each nodes in SPRO.
Also pls explore SCN, you will get lot of documents/materials on the above. Happy exploring...

  • Retiral Benefits Calculation (PY-India)

    Hi All,
Our Client has specific gratuity formula.
    Eg: Gratuity=(basic+DA)(15/26)no.of years of service.
In SAP we have a step to capture only eligibility years for gratuity.
How to incorporate this formula other than ABAPer coding at the wage type level?
    Similarly for Superannuation.

    Hi,
Generally we maintain percentage constant 4.81% instead of 15/26 * salary
if u want same percentage on other wTS u can maintain in T539J table
i think it will helpful to u

  • Tax on Monetary & Non-Monetary Perquisites (Payroll-India)

I need one help for FBT perk & tax calculation process.
There are no. of benefits which are in terms of Monetary & Non-Monetary form. All non-Monetary item’s tax is bear by the employee. Whereas the monetary benefits attract some tax on the basis of which they are giving some allowance to employee which balances the tax bear by employee. Giving one example below.
For ex. Total Tax on Income say A
    Monetary Perk-B
    Non-Monetary Perk Say C
The sum of the three Say D. Then they calculate tax on D & take the difference between D & A to arrive at tax on perk.
This tax then divide in such way:
    Employer Tax= X (Difference between D & A)*C/B+C –to display on form 16
Rest will be employee tax but  they give this amount as special perquisite allowance to employee & the calculation is as follows:
    SPA= X (Difference between D & A)* B/B+C
Is there any standard functionality in SAP Payroll-India to suffice this requirement. Pl. guide me how to address this scenario.

can you come up with numbers ? and little clear to better understanding.

  • Benefits of Maintaining Group Currency

    Hi,,,,,
Can anyone tell me the benefits of maintaining Group Currency. An organisation under which i am working has 3 foreign Susbsidiary. In that we have maintained company code currency as per the local requirement as 1st currency.
But any one can tell me the benefit of maintaining group currency.
    Regards,
    Thnaks in advance.
    SAN2008

    Hi,
Group currency is maintained at client level so if you are using four company code in different countries and if your parent company is India then your management will want to see balance sheet of other country's company code in INR also.
So, your group currenyc will be INR which is maintained in SCC4. So, when ever foreign company code make posting in their currency like USD, EUR, simultaneously it is also updated in INR.
In report S_ALR_87012249 just select 30 i.e. Group currency in currency type. You will be see your balance sheet in group currency.

  • Why there are only less features in using iphone's in india?

because more features are available in iphones since indian user are not benifiting every features in iphone???

Of course certain features of iOS are not available in all regions regardless of the device.  For instant if in India Siri is not available it won't be on any version of iOS on any device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch).  The benefits of the iPhone 5 over the iPhone 4S in your region, in my opinion, are more technical than features.  To list a few the larger screen size, the higher quality camera, the faster processor, etc.  The iPhone 5 isn't just an iPhone 4S repurposed to run iOS 6 it is a completely redesigned device.  It is slimmer, lighter, faster, made of different materials. If those things are not important to you, then by all means select an iPhone 4S.  The choice is yours.

You'll have to consider the benefits; is the lack of LTE and the need to send the phone overseas (THus be without a phone for that length of time) really worth the 250$ difference you'd save?
ME personally I'd rather fork over that amount of money and get the quality of phone I purchased, and not have it at half strength.

  • Calculation of Tax Depreciation - India

    Hi,
We are following the New GL Accounting setup to our US based client in India.
My Leading Ledger (US) is Jan u2013 Dec and Non-leading Ledger (India) is April u2013 March.
We also created different Fiscal Year variants (Year Dependent) as S1 and IN for both the Co codes.
I have defined and activated Non-leading ledger for India Company code.
All the transactions were posting correctly as per Leading and Non-leading ledgers except Tax Depreciation in Fixed Assets.
I was able to post correct depreciation for India Company Act Depreciation area with a stated percentage. But the Tax depreciation area calculation is incorrect.
Required Depreciation Calculation for Tax Depreciation Area as below:
    For Acquires & Additions:
Rule1: If it is >=180 days (as per Non-leading ledger Fiscal year) the system should calculate depreciation as stated percentage. Eg: 10%
    Rule2:
If it is <180 days (as per Non-leading ledger Fiscal year) the system should calculate depreciation of 50% on stated percentage. Eg: Stated percentage is 10%, then it should be 5%.
I already copied India standard setting IT & NL to my fiscal year variant in Calender assignments of Period controls. But when I tried to post the Tax Depreciation in the month of March as per Non-leading ledger, the system is calculating full Depreciation as per Rule1 instead of 50% of stated Percentage in Rule2.
Can any one of you kindly advice how to setup the Multi levels methods and Period controls for Tax Depreciation key in Indian Tax Depreciation area as per above requirement. I have been working on this since one week. Please help me.
    Thanks for the help.
    Regards,
    JBC

I am not sure if this work.. but give it a try.
    In your multi-level method line 1 put Acq yr = 9999, Year = 999, Per = 6, Percent = 50
    line 2 put Acq yr = 9999, Year = 999, Per = 12, Percent = 10
Now what i dont understand from your question is that is this rule for the first acquisition year only?
If so, also try with Acq yr = 9999, Year = 1 (so only the first acq yr will get calculated based on the percentage).
Try this in your sandbox and let me know if it works or not!!

  • DPS Pro in India please...

Trying to buy Adobe DPS Pro license in India, and being told it can't be sold as there's not a single reseller in India right now, and the product is not available on Adobe Store (India) for online purchase.
Can someone please guide or advice me how to buy DPS Pro, or connect me to someone from Adobe or reselling community to facilitate this. Also, need DPS PRO only, and NOT DPS ENTERPRISE edition.
Seems when it comes to DPS, you need to know workarounds not only for using the product, but also to buy it, even at MRP...
