Bento software- can I use this with OS 10.4?

Someone suggested I try a software called Bento, but I've been checking the technical specs and it appears that I can't use it with OS 10.4. The minimum requirement is OS 10.5. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, can you recommend a similar software that I can use with OS 10.4?

Info Genie was a flat file database program as I recall. For something similar you might look at iData or iData Lite, Quick Tables (may not work on Tiger,) iList Data (relational,) EagleData. These are all pure database programs.
Notes Guru is a database program specifically for notes. If that's what you need then it may be fine for you. But if you have more generic needs or specialized needs please say what those are since it makes it easier to recommend something. Or you can simply search the MacUpdate and VersionTracker data for suitable choices you can download and try out.

iPhoto 9.2.3 is incompatible with MacOS 10.9.3 Mavericks. If you are running Mavericks on your system you need to update iPhoto to 9.5.1. Only, the problem is, that this version is no longer available at the App Store.
The easiest way to get a compatible iPhoto version in that case would be to upgrade to Yosemite, MacOS X 10.10, and then download the most recent iPhoto version from the AppStore, iiPhoto 9.6, like LarryHN suggested.
If you cannot download iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.6 post back.

Pop in the CD and try, however it is unlikely because Classic App's will not run in Snow Leopard.
Also note: that only 2006 Intel iMac's or later can run Snow Leopard and not per 2006 G5 iMac's.

Control Value:Set [Variant] Method - how can i use this with strict type definitions?

I want to pass default values to a strict type definition from a mainVI to a subVI, but I'm not allowed to use the "Control Valueet [Variant] Method" invoke node to do it. How else can I achieve this?

Hi Z,
If you use strict type defintion references you can use Call by reference Node. Depending on the connector pane for the subvi which is referenced you just wire your data to the corresponding terminals. I attach an easy example which dynamically opens and writes to an arbitary number of a template.

BT Hub 2.0 - Can I use this with different ISP?

I use TalkTalk as my ISP and have recently had a BT engineer call-out due to my very low BB speed. As my master socket is in the lounge dowstairs and I want the PC upstairs the BT man suggested I switch to wireless.
Bought the BT Hub 2.0 on recommendation, but have now read that it can only be used when BT is the ISP.
Is this correct and is there anyway around it?

The BT Homehub can only be used with BT Broadband, it is possible to "flash the firmware" to unlock it to other ISPs, but this is not really a simple task.
Why not contact talk talk and tell them you are thinking of leaving, I am sure they will do you a deal and send you a new wireless router, or you could always get one from that well known on line auction website.

Steve ~ There is no new Apple 5K Retina Display as such, i.e. an Apple 5K Retina monitor to connect to a Mac Pro. There is a new iMac with Retina 5K display, but my understanding is that it cannot be used as a monitor. And if Apple were to produce a new Retina 5K version of their current Apple Thunderbolt Display (which is a monitor), I doubt a 2006 or 2008 Mac Pro could drive it.

Where did the phone come from as most of the UK carriers unlock phones, but the fact that you are now abroad may be a problem.

Can I use this printer with my macintosh SE?

I have a macintosh SE form 1986, i need a printer and i have found this one on a hardware shop near by at a very fair price:
Apple Color StyleWriter 2500.
Can I use it with my mac? Will be a problem the software with the 800K diskettes? In case this printer wont work, wich one you recommend?

Hello Carlos,
The Color StyleWriter and its CSW 2500 software requires a 68020 processor or higher. A Macintosh SE has a 68000 processor. So, unfortunately, the SE cannot be used here.
Instead, choose a black and white printer, such as a StyleWriter or StyleWriter II. For the SW II, use System 6.0.8 or 7.0 and the printer software below with an SE.

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm a little peed-off with Microsoft on this. The original wireless controller I have doesn't work either since the cable I'm using is 'just' the charge and play cable, so a direct connection to my Mac won't work with this cable. It's a cable for god's sake. Why on EARTH put any limitations on this!?!?
Next I learn I need an additional USB wireless receiver from Microsoft to get my original 360 controller to talk to my Mac. As I certainly don't want to fork any more microsoft dollars on this, this is not an option.
Next I think, yes! I have a MadCatz 360 wired USB controller. This should surely do the trick just plugging it in and the way I go. But oh no, for some reason I plug my MadCatz Xbox360 controller in, it flashes a few times then switches off and can't be turned on again.
The System Profiles recognizes it as a MadCatz 360 device controller but that is about it, but the ontroller software I download for the System Prefs (360Controller, USBOverdrive etc) don't even recognize the controller as being plugged in.
What the **** Is The Microsoft Deal with all of this!?!?
PS: Oh, and I forgot to mention, there are No drivers for device 4716 that I can find on the MadCatz website, or am I going blind?

You're probably on OS X Lion?
I had the same problem as you. I used Software Update to update Logic Express to the latest version, and then it ran without any problems.

After installing all of Logic Studio (i.e. install dvd, audio content 1-3, jam packs 1-3), my laptop concludes that everything is installed successfully, however, when going to open to Logic, error icon appears and says:

Thank you! I found that just after I entered the question. I reinstalled everything two times, updated software, but was still having issues. But, I specifically updated the 9.1.8 (which was supposedly included in my standard software update). Guess I needed to give it some extra attention and affection.
P.S. - Why do I feel like the more I upgrade versions of OS X, the worse off I am getting or am? Isn't it supposed to be opposite...isn't it supposed to make things better...come on, mac...where you at? mt. lion or mavericks. I'm downloading Snow Leopard to make some programs run. (um, yeah).

Local Mac shop said to hold down "c" after inserting disk to get "disk utility" to come up in order to wipe hard drive. I can't seem to get it to do this.

This W7 was purchased for using Fusion, as others did - per reviews from amazon. The technician today called their contact at VMWare - Fusion not officially for use with Lion - even though I read at the VMWare support site that others have made it work. Apparently my setup doesn't work.
Do you know how to do the proceedure for bringing up the disk utility when starting the disk?
BTW, some of the windows applications I want to continue using are Incredimail, Calendarscope, Stamps.com and a few others I have used over many years. What do you use for email and calendar?
Wow, sounds like another reason to not use MS Windows.
Regarding your Disk Utility question, please elablorate I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Disk Utilty is just that...a utility, it's something most users never have to use especially on a new computer. Let me know what you're trying to do there before I give you some instructions.
As for as your Windows apps I would recommend using Mail and iCal, both come as part of OS X and are very robust tools. Don't discount the software built right into OS X it's very robust and powerful not all like the bloatware most Windows boxes ship with. Stamps.com well I'd look for another alternative. It's clear they don't support OS X which makes me a little suspicious that they're so behind the times.
Also if you have not been exposed to these links before I'd strongly recommend bookmarking them and using them. They're extermely useful!
