Berkeley 5.0.84 - Disabling writing of stats files

Hi Chaps,
Version 5.0.84 of BerkeleyDB JE now writes a stats and config file into the environment directory. Although this is of great use in certain situations, we need the ability to turn it off to reduce disk bloat.
Can someone suggest how best to achieve this please ?
Thanks
Clive

Hi greybird,
Thank you very much for the reply. That solved my problem.

  • 4 State Buttons - Disabled and Visited State

    Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if CP will be offering 4 state buttons as an option in the future. Essentially adding a _disabled or _visited (both would be great) option to image buttons. 3 state buttons are great, but im finding more and more clients asking for 'greyed out' buttons when clicked. Some want disabled and others visited (so they can re-access the button).
I know Storyline has the feature to add a disabled and visited states. And I heard Lectora is adding this feature.
Basically The way I see it is that i can choose an image button and you get an option to select a disabled or visited button (or neither if you want 3 state). Then CP automatically pulls in the _up, _over, _down & _disabled or _visited images.
So back to my question, is this on the horizon?
Or if anyone has a better idea then i suggested, then i would be interested in knowing.
*I am aware you can do this with Advanced actions, but this way would be automated. (less work)

Yes wearable technology is wonderful.  The best enhancement I've heard about in that area (for e-learning) is the 'wearable LMS'.  It's a Wi-Fi enabled device that can detect and capture output from a Captivate module (as long as it's within range of a 802.11ac wi-fi transmitter/receiver).
I'll probably get into trouble for leaking this information but...also on the LMS front, Adobe has finally decided to take on the LMS vendors and introduce an incredible enhancement that looks like making any conventional LMS totally redundant.
If you've been wondering why Captivate 8 removed so many output options, it's actually been done to make room for the new Standalone LMS enhancement due out for Captivate 9's release next year (possibly Cp 9.5 if the development encounters issues with the implementation).  Once that incredible breakthrough arrives you won't need to worry about SCORM, TinCan, Acrobat.com or any other reporting format.  The Captivate output module ITSELF becomes the LMS.
It's all achieved with the new Cloud-based synchronization technology that Adobe has been keeping under wraps. Not only will the new Standalone LMS output capture all of the user interactions for your course. it will also aggregate them from other users around the world (as long as the user is online) and spit out nicely formatted reports to your nearest printer.  The formatting is still a bit rough at the moment, and you do need really good bandwidth to pull it off, but the barriers to entry are coming down all the time.
It's certainly an exciting time to be an e-learning developer!

  • Disable restart and state record in Application Engine

    Hi All,
can any one explain me elaborately about disable restart check box in advanced properties of an ae program ? What s the relation for this check box with state record of types i.e sql table or derived work record

When you set the application engine to enable restart your state record needs to be a database record, so that the application eninge can continue where it left off with all values in the state record on that state.
When you set the application engine to disable restart your state record can be a work record, because the application engine will always restart from the beginning, not using any variables from the staterecord.

  • How to disable an original statement without making repair via enchancement

    Hello,
My problem is I want to change a Form in SAP original codes. I wrote my code in an enhancement at the end of the form. But the origianl form contains an "exit" statement. so my enchancement cannot be executed. As far as I know I can only insert an echancement to the beginning or end of a form. I cannot insert it at the begining becouse it would not work proper. How can I disable that "exit" statement to make my code accessible.
    for example:
    *Original code starts here:
    -   statement A
    -   statement B
    -   statement C
    -   if sy-subrc ne 0.
    -       exit.
    -   endif.
    -   statement D
    -   statement E
    *My enchancement goes here:
    -   statement F
    -   statement G
    -   statement H
what I want is: if sy-subrc is not equal 0 at that condition
    continue execution from "F" statement.
One could say that move statement "D" and "E" to else block of the condition. but I am not allowed to make repairs to the original code.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
U can make 'EXIT' disable if  it won't affect the other functionalty then
Write a OSS request to SAP clearly saying ur requirement and wat u want in the std code to make accessible ur code.

  • Why does a VRRP master with preemption disabled regain master state after the reboot ?

Q: Why does a VRRP master with preemption disabled regain master state after the reboot?
A: This issue is found in the following scenarios:
    1. When spanning tree is disabled on either of the VRRP controllers but enabled on upstream switch(es).
    2. When the controller(any one VRRP controller) and upstream device(s) run different versions of STP.
    3. STP convergence time is different across the VRRP controllers.
In these scenarios, rebooted vrrp master is expected to come back as vrrp MASTER as the link takes some time to converge and fail to receive VRRP advertisement packets from its peer and may roll back to MASTER.
Trigger for this is, since STP is enabled on intermediate switch and disabled on controller, switch is taking some time ~30 secs to converge the link while port on the controller has become UP and fail-over to Master due to
    not receiving VRRP advertisement packets
In all these cases, it is advised to enable holdtime to mitigate issue. Holdtime has been introduced to tackle this issue in the "preemption disabled scenario".
    Configuration via CLI:
    (controller) (config) #vrrp <id>
    (controller) (config-vrrp)#holdtime
    Description:
The VRRP virtual router does not begin listening to advertisements until the holdtime expires. If your deployment includes a VRRP master with preemption disabled and an uplink switch is running RSTP, a higher value will prevent the VRRP master from regaining the master state after it reboots.
    Range: 30 - 120 seconds
    Default: 45 seconds

    Hey Jim,
Thanks for the follow-up.  Here are some more details:
    OS - 10.8.2
    FCP X - 10.0.7
I can't update either of these because of my Avid installation.
Something else I didn't mention – this happens in a 4K project.  Notice how a default Zoom title looks:
Lines 1 and 2 are almost stacked on top of each other.
    Here's my title style:
Here's what the title looks after I apply the title style, modify Line 1, and remove the contents of Line 2:
And here's how it looks in the exported master file MOV:
    Notice how it's pushed down?
Then I decided to make a 720p project.  No more title problems.
So if you have some 4K footage, Jim, give it a go.  Or if there's another 4K-er out there, try this and let me know.
    Thanks!

  • The Service Broker endpoint is in disabled or stopped state.

    Hi All,
I am getting too many errors  messages like "The Service Broker endpoint is in disabled or stopped state." in my sql server error logs. I have two instance with SQL server 2012 along with SP1 (Enterprises Edition) and
enabled Always On features b/w the server for more than 10 users database to meet HADR . My SQL Server log is getting fulled because of this error messages.
I tried below query to identified  Service Broker is enabled or disalbed on all user databases.
    SELECTis_broker_enabled FROMsys.databases
    WHEREname= 'Database_Name'
    Output was 0
I can't alter the database statement to enable Service since its configured in database mirroing.
Does it affects the performanc of the database/instance/with database mirroirng or should Ignore the error message.
Any Idea how to troubleshoot the issue
    Thanks
    Raghu

    Hi,
It’s a default behavior. The message will show when AlwaysOn availability group Listener is created and SQL Server binds the Listener’s IP dynamically.
There is no method to suppress the message. These messages are informational message and do not cause any harm and can safely be ignored.
    Thanks.

  • How could I disable writing on a combo box ??

    hi guys
please refer to the above subject ,,

This message is very confusing. Could you please explain what you are trying to do with your "List-Item" and what you mean when you say you want to "+disable writing on a combo box+"? Looking at the responses so far to your original question - none of us truly understand what you are attempting so we are giving you the wrong answer to your question.

  • Problem in writing to the file

I use this labview code to read and save some electrical measurement data from a set of instruments. I am having a problem that the code stops writing to the file after a while. It stops responding too. The only way to stop it then is to use the task manager and kill it. The code was written for an older version of labview but now I am using labview 9. Everything else seems updated but there's a section that uses Write characters to file vi and that may be causing the problem. I made a few futile attempts to change it. I would highly appreciate if someone takes a look at it and could tell me what's going wrong.

I will second aeastet's advice - please look into how state machines and producer/consumer loops work and use them.  Your program is very inefficient, but is very similar to what I would have written before I learned about state machines and producer/consumer loops.  Start with the LabVIEW help and go from there.  These forums and the National Instruments website can give you lots of help.
Two things that will help you for this particular problem:
At every loop iteration, you are opening the file, seeking to the end of it, appending data, then closing the file.  This is very slow and the code you use, as mentioned above, will not work if the file size exceeds 2GBytes.  I would recommend you open the file once, then use the write primitive to write to it until you finish, then close it.  You do not need the write character to file VI.  No seeking.  No repetitive opening and closing.  You can either open and close outside the loop, or use case structures and boolean flags (as you have done for other things) to open and close inside the loop.
After you write to the file, if you choose to graph, you are reopening the file, reading the entire thing, and plotting this data.  This is another major slowdown that will only get worse as your file gets bigger.  You would be far better off caching the data in a shift register and plotting it on demand.  It would probably take less memory, as well.  You may want to read the tutorial Managing Large Data Sets in LabVIEW.
One last tip.  You use Value properties to read and set the values of front panel controls.  Local variables are far faster (about three orders of magnitude).  However, do not make the mistake of using local variables for data storage.  Data is wires.  Local variables are a way to communicate to the front panel.  You seem to have this down, but a reminder to others reading this thread is in order.
Let us know if you need more explanation or help.  Good luck!

  • Problem writing to a file on a shared drive

I am having problems with my application not writing to a file on a shared drive. Actually it works perfect on one computer, but not on any other computer. Any ideas on why this would not work. Here is my code below, I think this may be an issue with permissions on the shared drive but have played with those until I am sick of it and nothing works. Any help on getting it to write to a file on a shared drive would be great.

                        });

So how do I stop the
NPE from occurring.By not dereferencing a null reference.
    Thingamabob xyz = doSomethingWhichMightReturnNull();
    if (xyz != null)
// go ahead and use xyz here
If you leave out the above "if" statement check, and just willy-nilly try to use xyz when it is null, you'll get the NPE.
It is occurring on the file
name. I have never been able to stop the file name
from throwing a NPE.I don't know how that translates to some lines of your code.

I am getting an error that shows up on the alarm screen - it says "Error saving state file:c\program files\national instruments\lookout 5.0\petco.l4t".
Background:  An old XP pro machine running the application died and was replaced with a new Dell, business class PC, Optiplex 360, Win XP Pro sp3, 2.2ghz dual core.
After moving the application and setting up the PC, I get the following message every time it trie to say the state file.
Is this a compatibility problem with the new hardware?
    What can I do?
    any ideas?
    THANKS
    Mark

Does this machine have an auto-backup feature?
Some backup applications can actually lock the partition, making it read only.
    Something to check

  • Cannot install PhotoShop CC "Error writing to temporary file location", how do I fix this?

I am working on a Mac OS X Server, version 10.6.8
I use my Adobe applications - Indesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and a couple of others - primarily for school work (graphic design). I download the applications from my Adobe Application Manager, but they recently stopped working. I didn't know if this was due to recent updates or the fact that I had just changed out my hard drive when the original one failed. I uninstalled the applications, and am trying to re-install them, but am receiving the error message, "Error writing to temporary file location".
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it just because I'm running 10.6.8? If so, can I make my applications work without getting a whole new computer?

Please refer PS system requirements from this link:
