  • OBIEE 11g and In-memory options

With all the data In-memory options, has anyone utilized any of these vendors with OBIEE?
My question is for those who don't go the Exalytics route, as it seems with Oracle in order to utilize their Times Ten In-Memory option with OBIEE you have to purchase the Exalytics appliance.
We had discussins with Terracotta and their BigMemory offering, however, they aren't aware of any customers using it with OBIEE as it offers a JDBC connection which the RPD can't utilize.
Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?

Who said you must buy Exalytics in order to use TT with OBIEE? If you already have it, just create an RPD connection pools and off you go. You won't be able to use all the nice bits 'n pieces a full Exalytics sports, but where OBIEE is concerned, it's just a source like any other.

  • TOOLS MEMORY option missing in N93

    Hi,
I have bought a new memory card and I am unable to format the card because TOOLS>MEMORY option is not available in my N93. Can you tell me how to format the SD card using N93 phone.

Slightly confused - why wouldn't it be available? Is it a limitation of the browser being unable to activate the plug-ins which are part of Adobe Acrobat X Standard? It's just functionality for altering the layouts of PDFs, page numbering, etc. Should be fairly standard?

  • How the ASR memory options shipped when bought as spares?

Does anyone knows how the ASR memory options shipped when bought as spares?
Can i insert a 2GB memory on the ASR 1002-X as stated in the memory options in this link, http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-1000-series-aggregation-services-routers/data_sheet_c78-441072.htmlIf yes, then what could be the part code number?
Can I just upgrade the ASR 1002-X from 4GB to 6GB of memory instead of 8GB?
Can you clarify if i will choose the following part codes, how will this be shipped?
    M-ASR1002X-4GB=, 2 units 2GB memory or 1 unit 4GB?
    M-ASR1002X-8GB=, 4 units 2GB memory or 2 units 4GB?
    M-ASR1002X-16GB=, 4 units 4GB memory?
And last, how can we insert memory on the ASR 1002-X, does it needs to have identical memory installed for the 4 slots, or we can just upgrade it like, 2 x 2GB installed on the first slot and then i'll add 1 x 4GB?
    Thank you!

    Hello, Jessica.
The Cisco 1000 ASR series RP memory spares are usually sold as pairs. For example, 2GB (M-ASR1K-RP1-2GB=) are sold as a pair of 1 GB modules and the 4 GB memory spare (M-ASR1K-RP1-4GB=) is sold as a pair of 2 GB modules. It would be best to verify this with your Cisco sales representative. Are you already working with any Cisco partner or rep about this one, by the way?
Let me know if you have additional concerns or e-mail ([email protected]) me directly. Kind regards.

If you can, you want MATCHED, TRIPPLE CHANNEL, ECC registered ram with the same timings as the original ram.  I found that 1333mhz ram of that type is a bit easier to find these days (any faster ram will work in the your macpro).  Anyhoo, I found 12 GB of ram 3x4gb (oh yeah, and tripple channel ram likes to be installed in three's so if you can stick with only 3 chips of ram unless you are making it out or something.) for like $150.  If you keep your eyes pealed you can get a great deal.

  • Satellite L550-13K - Shared memory option working?

    Hi,
Can anybody please help with the performance of the Video ?
According to the specification of Toshiba the Video card has a shared memory option until 1.759Mb with a w7 64bit system.
When playing WoW I am experiancing massive video performance issues even when my video options are on the lowest settings. In multi-player environment my average fps is 6.
According to Tempro the system is fully up to date.
Considering the options, I am questioning whether the shared memory option works. During the game the 4Gb internal memory is used for only 42%. This would theoretically exclude and lack of internal memory. In the past you could allocate memory in BIOS, but that seems to have been automated. Also the video driver does not seem to give any options, except for the 3d options where I have set the usage of driver memory to high.
How to determine whether this option actually works ? and where can it be configured in order to force it.
Thanks for your help in advance. H

    Hi buddy,
Quad is right, there is nothing what you can do to improve the shared memory for graphic card. Everything will be controlled automatically. Just make sure you have the maximum RAM capacity installed, then you will have the highest video memory.
Satellite L series is not designed for gaming. Its great for office, Internet, videos, photos, etc. but not the best notebook for gaming. Therefore the graphic card is not powerful enough.
Satellite A series is better but Qosmio series is great for games. :)

  • Memory options for a executable jar launched for an icon

I'm running windows xp and have created a java application in an executable jar file. I would like to run this from the desktop as an icon. I have been able to do this by putting a shortcut to the jar file on the desktop. . So far so good... but I need to specify a larger memory maximum to handle larger files in this applicaiton. From a command prompt this would be "java -Xmx128m -jar myjar.jar" -- does anyone know how to add interperter options into a shortcut, or some other way to do this?
    Thanks.

You can do this by using the Windows Explorer and using the File / New / Shortcut menu item. Select the javaw.exe program and enter the full command line with options and the jar file, something like ...
    %windir%\SYSTEM32\javaw.exe -Xmx128m -jar C:\java\myJar.jar
This shortcut can then be put on the desktop.

  • IMac 8,1 memory options

Deciding on memory upgrade options.  Currently 2 gb on early 2008 iMac 3.06ghz 24 inch.
Crucial 2+2gb is approx 60 bucks.  Is it worth the 135 bucks to go with OWC 2+4.  I plan on upgrading OS to as current as possible.  The mac is mostly for personal use, no big RAM programs like photoshop.  Any thoughts and if worth the $$$?  Thx

4gb is enough running Yosemite for light to moderate use. That said when speaking of ram, more is always better but to only get 2gb more for double the price doesn't seem worth it to me.

  • New Xserve 24GB memory options

    Hello people,
While configuring the new Apple Xserve I was wondering why there is such a big difference in price between 24GB option with 12x2GB and 24GB with 6x4GB!? I understand that the 4GB sticks are a tad more expensive as the 2GB ones but there is a $ 3600 price difference between the two.
Case in which you get the same amount of RAM why would anyone buy the 3x more expensive 4GB option?

Regarding answer 1: So faster means what? 1-2% faster than with 12 dimms or how much faster?
From memory, each additional DIMM on a channel adds 2.5 - 3% overhead, but writes have a higher overhead, so the specifics depend on your usage pattern (e.g. read vs. writes).
Regarding answer 2: No comment. But then again why doesn't apple offer 48GB of RAM in 12x4?
I wondered that myself. Maybe they were scared of showing that price?
Regarding last answer: Are you refering to the economic rules of supply and demand? Because if you are, then i know that when the demand is high the supplier raises the price. Based on this should i conclude that the biggest demand is for 24 GB Xservers with 6x4GB dimms?
No. The laws of supply and demand have two factors to consider. You're assuming that demands is high. I'm saying that supply is low - the 4GB DIMMS are in lower supply than 1 and 2GB DIMMs, therefore they command a higher price. Check any memory vendors' FB-DIMM pricing and you'll see the same (although Apple's pricing is, of course, higher than most).

  • Add Move to Memory option for Applications in Settings for Dell Venue 7 OS

The "Move to Memory Card" option was not enabled by Dell. It should be. <Forum violation = soliciting>. Dell, please add this feature. It is useless to have a memory card if you can't store apps on it. That's the main purpose of it. The camera is so slow it really isn't going to be useful to store photos on memory card, not even sure this option is enabled LOL. Anyways. Need to be able to store Apps and increase system memory to speed up operation. As it is anything over 5GB in total apps will bog down the Venue 7 making it basically useless. I feel like it's like using dial-up all over again. I should have got the iPad Air.

I'm running a 32gb card for music and movies.  Have no problems.  Load the card via computer attached with usb cable.

  • Why can't I find "Data Transfer and Memory " option in channel property node?

    Hi All,
I'm trying to find some properties such as "Data Transfer and Memory " in my "DAQmx Channel" property node, as below

    Hi Andrey,
Thank you for your reply. But I tried this on another computer on which lv 8.6 was installed, and it worked. I just simply dropped the channel property node, and didn't connect with any channel vi, and there were available options on that one. But for this pc, it doesn't work. I also configured the hardware in Mea & AE, it didn't help.
btw, my labview is full licenced.
    Best wishes,

  • Memory options for iMac

Does the Late 2013 iMac with 3.5 GHz i7 support triple or quad channel memory? I am running Mavericks 10.9.5 with the stock 8GB and trying to find the highest possible memory bandwidth the machine can run.
In other words, will 2x8GB, 3x4GB, or 4x4GB will give the highest speed access to memory? I am not often seeing the used RAM exceed 7GB, so I am not too worried about passing 12GB if triple channel is supported.

    BrianAdam3342,
The answer is really pretty simple, iMacs are fussy about upgraded RAM installed. If you want your machine to work reliably follow these three rules of thumb and you will likely be rewarded with years trouble free RAM use. :
Buy high quality RAM from recommended sources such as OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial
Stick with the specifications Apple recommends.
Install matched sets of RAM. If you are going to continue using your existing 8GB,
    add 2x4GB = 12 GB
add 2x8GB = 24 GB or if you want to max out at 32GB
    add 4x8GB = 32 GB
Add the RAM in options 1 & 2 to the 2 empty slots when you open the iMac's RAM door.

  • Memory options

i have a macbook ox 10.4.11 im most out of storage, i was wondering which is the best & cheapest way to add memeory. i want to add more then 2gb. Time capsule? memory chip?
i just got an email from apple about snow leopard that free up to 7gb?this my best option?
    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook1,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
    Memory: 512 MB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB11.0061.B03
    SMC Version: 1.4f12
    Model: HL-DT-ST DVDRW GWA4080M
    Revision: AA26
    Detachable Drive: No
    Protocol: ATAPI
    Unit Number: 0
    Socket Type: Internal
    Low Power Polling: Yes

I am pretty sure that this version of the macbook will only support 2gb of memory. Some other posters in here may chime in on that and may know better than me about this subject, but I'm quite sure that 2 gb is the maximum amount of ram this version supports. As far as snow leopard gaining hard drive space varies, I personally gained about 12gb of hard drive space, some less and some more. So I think 7gb is pretty attainable. Hope this helps

  • NF750-G55 BIOS Memory Options causing spontaneous shutdowns

I was playing a bit with BIOS and I found these options under memory settings that are not mentioned in the manual:
    Power Down Enable
    MemClk Tristate C3/Altvid
Thinking to save power and/or lower heat output of my memory modules, I enabled all of them.  It did not seem to give any observable benefits, but I left them enabled anyway.
About 30 minutes later playing Assassin's Creed, suddenly my PC turned off by itself.  Just like, boom, off, just like when you unplug the power cord.  I pressed the power button, and it turn on and boot up normally.  Windows did say that it was not shut down properly, but it booted up to desktop just fine.  I was thinking maybe my graphic card or PSU is going to die.  So I left the computer to idle about 20 minutes (i went to the kitchen), and when I came back, the PC was off.  So this happened on idle as well.
Then I remembered that I changed the BIOS memory settings.  So I disabled all the settings that I mentioned above (back to prior settings), and my PC has been on (playing games and idle) like... 3 hours now no shutting down by itself yet.
Should I worry about components failing or these BIOS settings are just some of the things that I should stay away from?
Its not impossible that it is the culprit as new things break too, but my PSU is pretty new (like 1-2 months old).
    Thanks in advance

I did not joke about seeking help, I joke because it is seem to be so hard to understand about that particular BIOS setting, you know, to clear the atmosphere.  Oh, C'mooon...

2nd, The shutdown can't be caused by a BIOS setting like that.
It will shutdown a lot more without that setting, I'm sure, maybe not right away but it will.
If you read my original post you will understand that my PC is working well (aka no spontaneous shutdown) before I change this setting.  Clearly the spontaneous shutdown only happened while the setting was enabled.  I have disabled the setting ever since, and up to this moment, absolutely no spontaneous shutdown, just like before.  It is pretty clear that the BIOS setting caused this.

3th, Why would a memory setting do an Emergency Shutdown? If you are so funny, answer that!
There is no EMERGENCY to POWER-OFF over your STUPID setting, now is there?
This is exactly my question!  Now why I fool around in this forum if I have the answer?
    Quote
Your silly switch isn't, so why would it do that? Unless it didn't power-off at all.
This is not my silly switch.  If I remember correctly it was made by Micro Star International, the board manufacturer.
