Trying to install on Solaris 10. The OS is fresh installed. And no other software is installed. What are the prerequisites or dependencies for Berkeley DB

Hi,
Sorry for the lack of response - I'm glad you resolved your issue.
For future reference, building on Solaris is similar to building on a Unix based platform. Information specific to Solaris is available in the [Reference Guide|http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/build_unix/solaris.html].

    Hello all
I am new to building programs from source and would like to ask for some advice or pointers.
I am trying to install BDB (db-4.8.26.NC) to use with openldap.
    Steps taken:
    - I have installed autoconf & libtools + there dependencies as README says
    - cd'd to ~/db-4.8.26.NC/build_unix and run ../dist/configure --prefix=/usr/local (configures fine)
    - run make and it hits this error "make: *** [libdb-4.8.la] Error 1"
I think my environment is ok, but because i have so little experiance compiling i am not 100% sure
    Tips anyone?

conftest.c:49: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once

2&3. the libdb-4.8.so seems to of been built. and there are alot of other files in the build_unix dir and subdirectories, to numerous to add into this post

I get an error stating cc cookies dir: cannot make folder / cookies: Permission denied (error 13) when I attempted to download the creative cloud installer on my Mac. Can anyone help with similar pop up window?  I'm trying to get a trial version of CS5.

You do not need to involve Creative Cloud to install/try the trial version of CS5...
You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

    Hi,
I recently (over this past summer) updated my phone and plan with Verizon.  I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I got the phone in Pittsburgh.  It is a Droid Eris and very nice.  I got it and a month later I moved to Olympia, Washington for school.  Since moving there, I have hardly been able to use it.  The service is terrible and its been impossible to keep in touch with my family, I wasn't even able to call them over Thanksgiving.  I'm also having to pay extra money so I can use the internet on my phone, but I can't even access the internet let alone make phone calls.  It's really frustrating.  I can't use my phone to keep in touch with everyone in Pittsburgh-and if I am ever in trouble I wouldn't be able to call for help, which makes me really nervous.  Is there a way I can cancel my 2yr contract?  Yes.  Just visit a Verizon store, or dial *611 from your phone and let them know you would like to cancel your account.  Would I have to pay a fee-and how much would that cost? Yes, Verizon no longer waives ETFs due to moving to an area without service, so you will probably have to pay an Early Termination Fee.  Since you have a smartphone, it will probably be $350 less $10 for each month of service you have completed.  The Customer Service rep you contact about cancelling will be able to tell you the exact amount.  Would I have to go to the Verizon store I bought the phone from to do this or would I have to do this in Washington-where I am now living and having the problems? You can do it over the phone, or at a corporate Verizon store.  Help!

  • Cannot make folder /cookies: Permission denied (error 13)

I can not successfully install the Creative Cloud Installer. I continually get
    Error Starting Creative Cloud
cookies dir: cannot make folder /cookies: Permission denied (error 13)
I have tried verifying disk permissions using the disk utility on my macpro retina. This is a brand new computer (less than a week). I've also tried changing cookies permissions to allow for third party cookies.
I don't know what the problem is.

I had this same irritating problem. Thanks to this forum and some helpful instructions from Adobe Customer Support online I have been able to sort it out. For those who've read this far down the thread, here are the instructions from Adobe, which worked a treat - and also cured a problem I was having with Adobe Reader XI for Mac (internal error message meaning I couldn't use Reader and none of my pdfs would open with Preview either!)
    1. Please Open Finder and click on Applications on left hand side of Finder window.
    2. Navigate to Applications->Utilities ->Adobe Installers. Double click on Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud and follow the onscreen instructions.
    3. Delete Adobe Application Manager folder from Applications/Utilities.
    4. Open Finder. Click on Go in Finder menu and choose Go to Folder. Type /Library/Application Support/Adobe in Go to folder and press return key. You will have Adobe folder open in Finder.
    5. Delete AdobeApplicationManager and OOBE folder.
    6. Click on Go in Finder menu and choose Go to Folder again. Type ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe in Go to folder and press return key.
    7. Delete AAMUpdater and OOBE folder from Adobe.
    8. Click on Go in Finder menu and choose Go to Folder again. Type ~/Library/Application Support and press return key.
    9. Right click on Adobe folder and choose Get Info.
    10. Click the lock icon at bottom of Get Info window to unlock it, then enter an administrator’s name and password.
    11. Click on + icon and choose select all users on pop up and window and choose Select.
    12. Change the permissions for all Users to Read and Write.
    13. Choose "Apply to enclosed items" from the Action pop-up menu (looks like a gear).
    14. Try installing the Creative Cloud Desktop application from below link.
    https://ccmdls.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/KCCC/1/osx10/CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg
Please launch Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application and check if you are able to sign in.

Swallow what is the exact error which you are receiving?  Also what version of Mac OS are you using specifically?  Finally what Adobe software title are you currently attempting to install?

I have done some porting work of Berkeley db4.6.21 on vxworks6.3, and I think my experiences may help:
If you decide to use db-4.5.21, simply open the WorkBench2.5, create a "downloadable kernal module", and then import the db source tree, make sure not to import the files not needed. To see what files to be imported, you can open the db/dist/srcfiles and retrieve the lines with "vx" string, and import only the files listed in the retrieved list.
Then, you can build the project. Note that there are some data type conficts between berkeley db source and the vxworks os, that is the u_int8_t and the like, you will have to remove the definitions in the headers belonging to vxworks.

    To Remove plug-in
1.) Open the SplashID desktop app
2.) Navigate from Menu bar "File" -> "Plugin for Safari" -> "Uninstall".
I could not find it in either Library/Internet Plug-ins nor ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins as others have suggested.
