Unfortunately, my system is not for sale
All kidding aside, there are quite a few options here. Is this for a laptop or desktop?
The rules of good audio from components, still hold true to computers. You may have some good hi-fi gear around that house that will blow away typical computer speakers. Regardless, I would invest in a good soundcard and proper amplification.

  • I own a Zen Vison: M and am wanting a speaker system for my player

I know there aren't any docking speaker systems for them yet, and I honestly doubt there will be any real soon.
So what would be the best way to go?
My X girlfriend had an I-Pod (poooo) and she had this speaker system.
    http://www.alteclansing.com/product_details.asp?pID=IM7
Honestly that thing would be the only reason I would go gay for I-Pod.
What would I have to do to get something close to that?

    Speaker System: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4097
    Wireless remote?:http://us.creative.com/products/prod...Specifications
The wireless remote confuses me becuase I swear the other night it said it suppotered the Vision: M and now it just says the Vision.
I've also found this, The Player Dock http://us.creative.com/products/prod...5&nav=features
But would it be compatible with the wireless remote?
It's so hard being a creative customer, There aren't any worth while accessories yet.
Anyway, if anyone could help me that would be great.

Hi There,?I just bought my Zen Vision M yesterday and so far I'm very happy with it. I had a Toshiba Gigabeat S30 first but the battery was horrid (seems to be very close to the Zune in design and features etc)?then I swapped for an 80GB Ipod video but there is a massi've problem with the EQ settings wanting to clip passed the digital headroom (google "ipod distortion")?Got The Creative Zen Vision M and I can say the following so far:?The sound output is strong and powers my $200 Sony in ear headphones with clean power even with bass all the way up. It's got a custom 5 band graphic EQ which works well to customise the sound to how you want it (I hate the standard MP3 EQ options of most players)? The sound quality is Very Very Good. (I'm a Hi-Fi freak and a competent home recording engineer)?I can see the screen easily even on a hot bright sunny day outdoors on 50% brightness (Very useful)?I have a couple of MP3's that were converted from WMA's and on some players they dont play but the Creative plays them fine. The use interface is easy to navigate but not quite as good as the Toshiba Gigabeat but looks nicer. The FM radio is great sounding aswell which is a bonus and you can custom name the stations. You can set photos as wallpaper and it comes with 6 player skins to customise the look. Battery seems pretty good. when its not locked the screen goes dimmer instead of turning off completely but the battery still seems to last ok. (if you lock it though it will last even longer.)?I haven't found anything bad about it yet. Toshiba Gigabeat S30? 5/0Apple Ipod Video 80GB? 2/0Creative Zen Vision M?? 0/0 so far?hope this helped.

  • What is thes best 5.1 speaker kit for macbook pro 2011

what is the best 5.1 speaker kit for my macbook pro
    thanks for help.

A 5.1 is considered a surround sound system, it's typically used in home theater systems, not computers.
A computer doesn't have the necessary electronics to produce the rich quality of sound that a 5.1 system can deliver, the PC 5.1's are just gamers gimmick cards, they too really don't have the necessary electronics or wattage for rich, full bodied sound.
Now I can tell you what works really well as a 5.1 system for iTunes, movies and such from your MacBook Pro, or anything really.
A Harmon Kardon 5.1 Home Theater.
It has 110 Watt speakers, 5 of them, and a 200 watt subwoofer that will make your heart thump in your chest.
You need only two things with this system, a optical stereo mini Toslink adapter and a optical Toslink cable.
You plug one inside your MacBook Pro (enable the optical out) and the other to the receiver and mess with the remote to enable theater mode from the computer for iTunes (takes stereo and makes it quad sound with separate bass)
For playing DVD's with 5.1, you enable the right 5.1 encoding, Dolby, ProLogic etc on both and the Mac passes the 5.1 through the system to the receiver.
For playing 3D games, you just pass the 5.1 through, the receiver handles the surround sound.
The important thing is setup, the listening point needs to be right in the center of the four channel speakers, the center is over your monitor or TV and the subwoofer is stuck in a free corner someplace, it's placement is unimportant, as long as it's in the room and not blocked.
Brother, you have system like this hooked up to your iTunes and tears will be falling from your eyes the music sounds so good. Makes you full hear the full quality of the iTunes bought music.
Will set you back a couple of thousand, but it's worth it. All the cables etc are color coded, easy to setup.

    Hope that helps

  • Can anyone recomend a good sound/speaker system for an iMac 24" computer.

Hello, Can anyone recomend a good sound/speaker system for an Imac 24"? And can an external speaker system be hooked up to this type of Imac? Thank you.

Unless it is for reasons of poor eyesight, it isn't necessary to write in all caps.
Depends how much you want to spend. This one is inexpensive and produces decent sound. But it won't necessarily be room filling (that is, depending on the size of your room.) You just hook it up to the headphone jack.

  • Recommendations for speaker systems for DVD player/recorder

I'm getting a DVD recorder soon and I hope to get some recommendations on suitable Creative speaker systems.
The room is fairly big but the TV area is rather confined..so i prefer a set whose speakers are not too big or bulky or numerous (i think i'll stop at 5.1 since i have limited space to put the speakers). Budget is flexible, but of course the cheaper the better (hopefully under $350).
The TV sounds good when watching TV programs but it reproduces an unbalanced ratio of muddy dialogue and loud sound effects when playing back DVDs. I end up having to crank up the volume so high to hear what the characters are saying, and of course, the background audio gets boosted way loud as well. So my main consideration is reproducing clear speech and dialogue and crisp (not overly loud) background audio - any recommendations for this?
Which models have an optical/coaxial input? Can i just hook up the speakers to the optical/coaxial or RCA outputs of the DVD recorder/player since most models have in-built DTS decoders? Which are the least problematic models?
    Thank you.

I think I have the same question more or less. I bought a cheap Best Buy memorex speaker docking station and I need a male to female IPOD cable so that I can Play the radio and charge the IPOD at the same time as well of course have the head phone jack plugged into the Line In that acts as the antenna.
So if I had the Male to Female cable My dock would charge and the cable to the line in acts as a Antenna. I think this makes sense..

  • Wireless speaker system for TV

Hello - What do recommend for the purchasing of a wireless speaker system that would hook up to a Samsung flat screen TV? I am completely ignorant in this ffield and appreciate any input/insights. I would guess that 4 speakers would do.
Also - what are the pros/cons for wired vs wireless?
    Thanks,  Bob

Ok, If you're looking for a more casual sound/background music, then there are a few wireless options. The Sonos devices get my recommendation.
If you're trying not to see the speakers, wireless is out of the question. I recommend you consider letting Geek Squad do the install if you're not into getting down and dirty in the attic. A consultation is only $100 and that money goes toward the final project if you decide to make it happen.

  • Best speaker system for Creative mp3 players?

    Hello Forum
I need to find a decent stereo shelf system, which can boost the sound in my Creative mp3 player.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

This depends on how many channels you want, but all of creatives THX models, Logitechs better speakers (Z-5000?), and klpisch's multimedia speakers (Promedia Ultra?), will all give very satisfactory results.
I dont personally feel that digital offers much benafit, unless your keen to connect to a reciever, the decoding on the X-Fi makes hardware decoding set less of a priority, and thus reduces the need for a digital input (which is requred where decoding takes place outside of the sound card).
All of these kinds of speakers are designed for near-field listening, so the distance away from then can be very low, however high volumes can damage your ears over extended periods and this is enhanced the closer you are. Consider symptoms such as regular "ear fatigue" a sign that you are a little too close!

Looked at the Hi-Fi but it looks bulky and doesnt play fm, Are ther any better ones out there with rechargable batteries and AC that will play FM as well?

You might try ilounge. This forum is for technical

I agree with you though - the Hi-Fi should
    have an integral radio.

  • Speaker system for MacPro

    Hi All,
Sorry if this is a basic question but I have not been able to find an answer... I just purchased a new MacPro and want to get some speakers for it so I can listen to music and watch DVD's.
I was thinking 5.1 surround but read that Apple does not support this (but then I got confused on if they do or not?)!!!
The MacPro's have a digital output port so I assume that would be the best way to hook up speakers.
Can you please recommend which speakers are best to be used with the MacPro for music and DVD's... should I be looking for ones that have a digital input port?
    Advice much appreciated
    Andrew

I have a set of Klipsch THX certified ProMedia 5.1 Desktop speakers (very hard to get hold of in the U.K), connected to a Creative Digital Decoder (DDTS-100) which is connected through Optical out from my Mac Pro.
Sound is simply stunning. The speakers were @£450 and the DDTS-100 @ £199, but I bought them a good few years ago, so they're probably cheaper now (if indeed they're still available at all).
You could look at the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 system, see if that fits the bill

  • Best way of storing content for home network?

I have a 3rd gen Apple TV and a family with numerous iPada, iPhones and Macs. We also have a finite limit on our internet data consumption. I'm looking for the best way of managing my kids' movie downloads so that they don't keep downloading the same movies to different devices, consuming our data allowance in the process.
Ideally I'm looking for a way of connecting a hard disk to the wireless network so that we can download direct to that, using one of our macs or iPads, and then have the Apple TV stream from there. But that seems harder than it should be, if not impossible. At the moment we all have our individual libraries on our devices but often both kids want the same movies so that means the same movies getting downloaded twice.
Using family sharing we can share each other's purchases but each family member has to end up with their own copy of the movie in their library on at least one of their devices if they want to watch it, which means downloading multiple times.
Is there a way of achieving a home network with a core storage device shared amongst the family members which can be used both for streaming to iPads and appletv?
    Thanks
    James

Thank you Rudegar that is helpful. I hadn't realised that you could get an iOS app to control a NAS, so that could fix it for me.
Can multiple users with different libraries store their movies on the same NAS? And would any user then be able to play a movie stored on the NAS by using AirPlay to stream it to the AppleTV?
    What NAS would you recommend?
    Many thanks, James

  • What travel dock/speaker system for the Zen Vision 60gb?

Hi all, forgive me if this has been asked before, but I have just bought the Zen vision 60gb, and I would like a compatible travel dock; does anybody know which Creative dock the Zen 60gb will fit's I am not sure myself as the ones I have been looking at refer only to the Zen vision 30gb,
I intend to use it for holidays, camping etc.
Failing that, can anybody recommend a good portable speaker set up for the Zen vision 60gb?
    thanks for your time guys!
    cheers Dave

Any set of computer speakrs can be connected to any MP3 player. They would be far more versatile than a docking station, as the docking station becomes almost useless after the player breaks. Alternati'vely, if your husband's office computer has speakers, he could just plug the Touch into the computer (may require a software installation) and just play the music through the computer (no cash outlay at all ?.)
If you decide to go with speakers, $50 should be able to buy you a pretty decent set of amplified speakers; there is no need to go beyond a 2 speaker (stereo) system since MP3s only output in 2 channels.

  • Document Management Systems for Home User

    Hello!
I'm just a regular home user with a bunch of incoming snail (paper) mail. To get rid of the hassle to file the incoming stuff permanently I plan to scan it immediately and dispose afterwards.
I would prefer a document management system to just putting the scanned files in a folder. All DMS I found so far I rather enterprise grade (like Alfreso, Agorum Core).
    EDIT:
    Desired features would be:
    - Tagging (hierarchical)
    - Key - Value pairs attachted to the document
    - Preview
    - Indexing (of text documents)
Since I've never used a DMS before I'm not sure what is desriable.
How do you handle similiar situations?
System is KDE. Maybe there is a possibility to use the nepomuk tagging system...
    Thanks!

  • Speaker Systems for iphone

Are there any systems that work with the iphone? I tried plugging into my JBL ipod speakers, but the phone has a message come up that says its not for iphone use or something? Thanks, Kash

    Hi aleitch,
Absolutely, it's a 2.1 set so you can connect it to the headphone jack output on the player.
The IR remote will not work directly with the player, you can still control the speakers with it, but it does not work direct with the Zen Xtra player (it does with for instance the Zen Micro and Zen Sleek).

  • Speaker system for 5300 to improve ring tone volum...

The ring tone volume for my Nokia 5300 is preset and cannot be changed (and made more loud/soft). It's fairly quiet overall. I checked with Nokia directly & confirmed that I cannot adjust it. As a result, if my phone is set down in the house, I cannot hear it ring, as it is too quiet.
Are there any speakers (system) I can plug my phone into so when it rings, it will broadcast through the speakers so I can hear it more easily when set down in the house?

I don't know the exact menu of your phone, but if you work through Settings>Call>Call divert it lets you input the number of seconds before each divert. Bear in mind that this will work only if your operator supports it. Operators get more revenue opportunities if you miss calls.
