Best 2015 AirPrint-capable monochrome laser printer(name brand, model) for flawless install and Wi-Fi connectivity?

I currently use an HP LaserJet P1102w monochrome printer purchased in October, 2012. Cannot print from mobile devices because HP no longer supports the drivers needed for this. Instead, I must use their "HP app" to print from my iPhone 6. I can, however, printer wirelessly via AirPrint from my MacBook Air(Oct., 2012). Please recommend (name brand/model) an AirPrint monochrome printer that installs flawlessly and works with Wi-Fi using IOS 8 and OSX (10.9.5 Mavericks). Thanks in advance for your assistance

I missed the fact that you're on Snow Leopard. If there's no backward-compatible driver, you might be able to set up the printer as a generic IP printer with the settings shown below. I wouldn't recommend this, though. Either find a printer that's fully supported, or upgrade to a newer OS.

  • Color mode & settings for grayscale illustration to monochrome laser printer

Is there a best setting for the mode, color settings, and color profiles when printing a grayscale vector illustration to a monochrome laser printer? I am making vector maps, and right now they are mostly black line and black text with only the K values in CMYK. There are some gray tones—for example water areas are 10% K, with no C, M or Y. Would it make any difference if I used RGB mode values at 100% (255,255,255), or a rich black in CMYK (such as 40C, 30M, 30Y, 100K)?
I printed in K only at 1200dpi to a Generic Gray Gamma 2.2 profile, and it doesn't look too bad. There aren't many of the lines that are really jagged. I just wondered if there are better settings...
I'm using Mac OS 10.6, Illustrator CS6, and a Brother HL-5470DW monochrome laser printer.
    Map image section:

    Parsa,
    Not really (to both).
In some cases, using RGB with a PostScript (emulated) printer, or using CMYK with a non PostScript printer (through a PDF), you may get an unexpected outcome.

  • Best network (4-in-1) laser printer for Mac??

    Hi Girls & Guys,
I'm looking for a reliable laser network printer (fax/copy/scan/print) suitable for Mac, for small business - 2 iMac's Snow leopard.
I had problems in the past, especially with regards to scanning through a network HP printer to my iMac's.
Anybody have some suggestions? Brands & Models...
I've heard Brother, Epson & Canon are most suitable for Macintosh.
    THANKS!!

If I were you, I'd go shopping at MacMall - they have a number of printers that they sell and will let you know if they are Mac-compatible.
This one looks nice - and supports AirPrint.
I do a lot of shopping there, for everything from hard drives to Apple products. Have always received top-notch service.

  • Airport and Colour Laser Printer Sharing-Any recommendations for a printer?

    Hi,
I am looking for reasonably priced (about 400-600USD) colour laser printer that I could hooked up to my Airport Express' USB connection.
Would anyone has any recommadations for a type&model?
One option that I have been examing is Epson's Aculaser C1100. Any experiences with this one?
I could go with C1100N model with LAN connection, but I would love share the printer wirelessly (without the extra effort of rearranging my ip address environment..)
    Thanks,
    Tuure
    Mac OS X (10.4.4)

You are righ, i own a eculaser 1100 connected via airport express too. It works without any problem, if useing power pcs. If I try to prit using an intel mac, the new intel driver will hang up and the printer driver told me an interface type error -1. Epson support told me to ask the manufacturer of my os... Haha, like i said before it works with the old driver for power pc (V 2.3 ?) but for intel mac you have to use V3.0. And only this will not work. Does anyone have an idea for me? PowerPC works fine, win dows xp using bonjour prints fine too. Connection the aculaser directly to the mac book pro will work too, but using airport will no print me anything using the intel mac

  • Printing from Airport Extreme for both Mac and PC

I have both a mac and a PC. Both are connected to the internet using the Airport Extreme. Here's my problem. Currently I can only print from the Mac but not the PC. I was told that I would be using the airport extreme I would be able to use one printer for both computers. The printer I am using is an HP Office Jet 6310, which is compatible with both a Mac and a PC. Can anyone help me?

I recently purchased a Canon Pixma MP610 and it is connected to an AE. My Macbook prints fine to it. My PC laptop doesn't. I used to have a Canon Pixma 1600 that printed fine for both computers (I used iFelix's 1004.html steps to install for the PC)
I have tried the Add Printer on the PC using the same 1004.html steps with no luck. I have also used the 1008.html steps to install using the Bonjour Wizard with no luck.
When I say no luck, I mean it sees the printer, it has the proper drivers, but when I print a test page, it can't connect.
I Add a Printer and test and it fails, I then delete the printer and install it a different way. The weird thing is hours later, the test page will be there sitting on my printer. But I don't know why it took so long or which printer install method worked.
I have now installed 4-5 different printers and hit Test Page on all of them. I named each printer something different so in case the Test page comes out, I'll know which printer works.
I'm almost there I feel, but just can't get it.
Any suggestions iFelix or anyone else?

  • My printer will not print in black except for the top and bottom headings. The rest prints in turq.

I usually choose grayscale, but it is being ignored. Today, the turq. has changed to a green.

  • Need a good re-shippable Laser Printer

My company is conducting training in new markets. This involves shipping training equipment, and then re-shipping that equipment to the next location.
We found that despite removing toner and taping up the toner openings, the last model of laser printer we used didn't re-ship well. It would be opened with toner everywhere and be un-usable. I'm not sure if this is a problem just with our printer; it is the one we use in our stores (Kyocera FS-4020DN KX) and not an HP model.
My boss wants to go with an HP printer.  I'm looking for a monochrome laser printer that can do at least 20ppm and be "re-shippable" for under $500. We just use it for printing text reports.  Any suggestions?

I've had my HP 1500 Series AIO for 6 years. It is old technology but the thing still works and I won't get rid of it until it stops working. I have the thing hooked up to my Apple Extreme Base Station so I can print "wirelessly" from this iMac. I had the same arrangement with my old PowerBook G4 and could print from anywhere in my house. I have to hook the printer directly to the computer to scan and to do diagnostics.
When it comes time for me to get a new printer, I'll look at the ratings in Consumer Reports. I'll also seriously consider another HP unless they have been severely downrated.

  • Cheap SL compatible mono laser printer

Being tired of the HP1022 saga I am looking for a cheap monochrome laser printer that works with snow leopard. Does anyone have any suggestions ? USB will do for home use but a network option for desktop use at work would also be handy.
    Thanks - Michael

I have two HP LaserJet P1006 Printers which can be found on sale at various times for $99. They have a very small foot print for a monochrome laser printer, an important consideration for me since one sits on a small shelf and the other on a small antique desk.
They run fine with Snow Leopard and both have been problem free.

  • Dell 1700 Laser Printer - Setting up on a Lion Network

Here is how I found to get the Dell 1700 Laser Printer to work on a mac on a network print server .
    1) First of all, make sure that whatever print server you are using that the IP address is working. I am using  a TP-Link network print server that allows one usb connection. Most of these print servers are windows based so it's best to use a pc using windows to install these properly.
    2) Once the print server is set up connect the Dell 1700 printer to the usb connection of the print server and turn on the printer. Your print server will most likely have a little light that turns on when the usb device is active.
    3) Now go to software update and make sure you have the latest "LEXMARK" drivers...or go to the Lexmark website and download the latest Lexmark e232 driver for mac Yes, Lexmark,  Dell and Lexmark had the same printers for the 1700..
    4) Once you have the Lexmark drivers go to the system preferences pane and click the Print & Scan utility.
    5) In the print & scan utility click Add printer or the little "+" sign on the left
    6) Once clicked, a window pops up and if your print server is working properly you should see Dell Dell Laser Printer 1700-xxxxxx. If you don't see this recheck your print server. You will see the printer name in the "Default" window.... STAY IN THAT WINDOW. You don't need to go to the IP window.
    7) In the Default window where you see Dell Laser Printer name click on the Dell Laser Printer 1700 that is listed. Beneath there is a pull down menu called "Print Using" click on that and select Lexmark e232 from the list of printer drivers. Once you have done this click "ADD". The computer will go get automatically what it needs from the internet to make the Lexmark e232 driver work with the Dell. (so make sure you have an active internet connection).

Thanks, Rocky - this worked for me on Snow Leopard too.
The key thing seems to be E232 - and NOT other Lexmark printer names, as incorrectly referred to in other threads.
