This has happened before. Don't expect something different this time. Some of the bugs (like the camera button not working every time) have been around forever, and not a single fix has been given to us. Literally, whatever was broken 6 months ago is somewhat also broken now. We used to have problems with sound settings - now we have sound coming from the wrong speaker!! This is WORSE than having bugged sound effect options, because the phone is completely useless when you CAN'T HEAR IT RINGING. The camera is useless when you miss your important moments because of a non-working button, or because of the 4.4 bug with focus. And prepare to wait another 2 months for a fix, at least.
And when a fix arrives... prepare for the NEW bugs that it will add, since nobody at Sony tests these patches before they release them, simply because Sony don't care about you or me or how many broken phones they sold. They don't care because they already have our money, so why bother??

My best workflow so far.

Thought I'd share a way Ive found to work with PMD and the eclipse plug-in when adding the nature to a project which already has quite a lot of code.
1. add the pmd nature
2. turn on Monitorize
First i tried just doing a clean build hoping all the code would be tested. it either didnt work or I think just stopped cus of too many files
anyway, what ive now done to good effect is this.
Go through each folder, or master package and do a manual PMD run (this also then displays the results in the flexPMD view panel, which wasnt happening when pmd was auto run by a build)
once Ive gone through each folder and done a manual run, the errors etc in the problems panel just agregate nicely. Now I have a fully tested start point
from then on only files I change and save are tested, during the build cycle, and all seems to be running very well.
It helps a great deal if you set up a second problems panel just for pmd results.
It's taken me a while to find this (although obvious) workflow, but now for the first time I have a fully tested code base that only retests changed files.

Adding the nature to your project should be enough so that FlexPMD runs automatically on all your source files and see the errors in the errors panel. It shouldn't be necessary for you to run FlexPMD "manually". You might be experiencing an error related to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/537410

Why do you go through each folder? Running FlexPMD in a parent folder should recursively scan all subfolders. Is it not the case for you?

When you add flexPMD nature to your projects it's not expected to see the problems in the FlexPMD View, you will only see the problmes in the problems View. FlexPMD View only displays the errors when FlexPMD is executed as an action.

I reinstalled ilife 11, but it was not successful.

Trying to install acrobat. Entered in the Redemption Code and it says the purchase has not been activated. Best buy says it has and even included serial number on the receipt to use for activation. Still doesnt work

trying to install acrobat. I purchased this at Best Buy. The receipt contains an activated serial number to use when setting up the software. I entered this and it said invalid Serial. Because Adobe also gives me a redemption code inside the package to receive a serial online I tried this and it also says inactive redemption code. I called Best Buy and they say it has been activated on their end and the issue must be taken up with ADOBE.

IOS4 - best update so far!

I updated my 3GS yesterday to iOS4, and it went without a hitch. I've been through every detail of the phone and everything's working perfectly.
Here's the best part: I was ready to ditch my iPhone/AT&T combo and move to Verizon and a Droid because my reception was so horrible that I couldn't get a data connection where I work at all, and calls dropped constantly unless I was on Edge. I tried everything... on the phone with Apple and AT&T constantly. I installed iOS4 and all of a sudden I've got solid reception and super fast data connection. Videos stream smoothly with no interruption and I compared it to my co-worker's Droid on Verizon and they were THE SAME. So all along it was my iPhone and the crappy firmware. Apologies to AT&T for trashing their service this whole time.

I've been using Gnu/Linux for some year now and I've been testing everything from Mandrake to Gentoo. Though none of them could satisfy my needs of a fast small distro with a great package manager! But now I have found my new best friend and he is named Arch!

Also registered just to say thank you! I've been using spotify since it came to the US and was ported for webOS. I have since bought an android phone and was happy to see a working version for Linux (Been rocking Ubuntu for 4 years now). Had the same recent issue that many people are reporting with 12.04 (The life of being a beta guinea pig) so I'm trying out the 0.8.X previews and it's working so far barring the known issues. I am also having trouble with my cursor freezing after installing Mavericks. Never did it before. I called tech support at Apple and they had me restart computer and mouse together from a complete shut down. So far has seemed to work.

I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
On iPhone:
Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
On Mac:
Open "Messages" application
Click "Messages menu > Preferences
Click "Accounts"
Select your AppleID account
Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble. If it's green then you are using SMS.

I have not found a bookmark manager nor any solutions written for firefox bookmarks. My toolbar Shows a History (library)button -which I use to categorize bookmark files. The number of such files and their contents is far less than the massive bookmark list.Single deletes are possible but terrible to work with

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press CTRL+SHIFT+B

Here is the deal...
Apple logo would not dissapear from the screen of my 4 year old ipod (dockstation version, 15GB),
I reformatted (FAT32 as per this forum) and restored my ipod in itunes. When this was done (multiple times now) I was asked to connect my ipod to the power supply.
Doing that right now but the 'Disk Mode' and 'OK to disconnect' screen simply continue to show on the display and the battery icon is charging continously.
This has been for about 2 hours now..
Oh yeah, never had a problem before and I am a mild/medium user..
Any suggestions appreciated as I do not have the money to buy a new Ipod or go to the Apple fixers..

thanks for your comments but I have tried all of that.
Apple logo appears and I can even get fase 1 of the restore program in itunes to run.
After part1 of the restore program I am asked to unplug the ipod from itunes and hook it up to power. Then supposedly fase 2 or restoring is tarting but unfortunately nothing happens..
I just listened closely and the ipod makes ticking noises when the apple logo is showing..
Is that bad?

Alright, gotta get it off my chest: the Bookmark Doodad drives me nuts! I realize this request belongs to NI's vendor's vendor, but here goes:
Quite often, my browser will completely freeze for a few seconds. It catches me off guard every time, but it's always the same thing: I briefly hovered over the Bookmark Doodad, and it freezes while downloading then crunching the popup menu.
The usability issue is a gotcha for both users and non-users of the Doodad:
Users must hover and wait for the menu to show up. If the menu showed up with a click, time is saved.
Non users (and users!) may accidentally hover over the pop-up, only to have it briefly freeze the browser and then display the unwanted menu
In a nutshell, I'm exaggerating when I say it's gotta go, but I really wish the menu would show up with a "click" rather than a "hover" to clean up usability issues for everyone.

Well, I performed a search for "forums.ni.com" on del.icio.us (the most popular service provider listed among the 298 bookmark providers).
To answer your question - yes! People use del.icio.us to bookmark sites on the forums. There was one in July 2007, two in October 2008, and two in November 2009!

I like ios 7 so far. its a new improvemment design. its intelligent. i like its every design of it. i like the live animated eveything. this ios 7 with big screen like ipad will be georgous. of course this is a new design and some people may not use to it. but eventually they will get use to this ios 7. this ios 7 is beautiful and smart. this is a new design and i want to see this same design for mac. i like ios 7 so much and i support it.

Subjective of course. I respectfully disagree. Just take the keyboard alone as an example.
In iOS 6, it's a great keyboard - the shadowing on the keys, bold characters, light gray on
a dark gray background, white characters on special keys, etc. It is a beautiful, simple,
and, most of all, extremely usable design for a soft keypad.
In iOS 7, it's just plain horrid. Scorching white background, poor choice of font for the
characters, thin likes, etc. Just horrible from a usability perspective, as the iOS 6
keyboard was easy to use in almost any light, the iOS 7 keyboard is not.
I could go on, but, too each their own.

Why is iTunes so difficult to use? It is time consuming and not at all intuitive. I will me complaining as much as possible until this is fixed. We should be able to drag songs to a playlist...surely technology has come this far has it not??

So discourraged with iTunes that I'm debating getting myself and my kids different phones... shouldn't be this difficult... I end up with my sons music and he with mine... both of us are disgusted...had enough.

Until 3 months ago (when I bought a $10 no-contract phone for emergency use only) if somebody lent me their cellphone to make a call I had no idea how to do so. I would get them to dial a number, talk, then I would hand it back to them to hang up. Even now if my wife gives me her iPhone to make a call I have to ask her to do it because I have no devices of any kind that have touchscreens. The timer went off the other day when she was out of the house and I somehow managed to get the thing quiet.
In comparison I have answered several thousand questions about many computer systems and applications on the ASC forums. It's all a matter of familiarity and need.

Incorrect Year in some of my applications in My Imac OS X 10.6.8. For example I am using Entorage and all my years so far has the same year. How to rectify this? I went to system preferences but the year remains constant.

Hi I'm a high school student and I'm having a problem on motion. I need help on page 350 of the "Apple pro training series: Motion 3" book on step #6. Well my problem is that the lesson book tells me to select the sweep behavior and duplicate it, But there is no disclosure triangle to see the behaviors from. but the weird thing is that the the behavior is still working in the project when I play it, I just cant select it to duplicate it. so can you please help me. =)

First, please stop shouting at me. I respond to neither abuse nor volume.
Second, a sweep behavior requires deliberately manipulating the settings to cause the camera to sweep. How did you adjust the behavior? HUD? You're saying the camera actually sweeps?
Third, you can believe me, if you applied the behavior correctly to the camera, it would appear in the layers tab. Perhaps you did not apply it to the camera. You may have dropped it someplace else.
Your reference to a "camera group" is suspect. The camera should not be part of a group with other objects when you're learning Motion, it should be a single item.
