Best audio out from iPad to Mac?

Hi,
I am using iPad 3 for music software synths such as Animoog. I'm connecting Fromm the headphone jack to an Apogee Duet, which then connects to the Mac running Ableton by FireWire.
The sound quality is awful. Loads of background noise, more so than when I connect an electric guitar by the same process. Does anybody know a better way to connect without getting interference? I assumed there would be a direct way to get audio from device to device for live performance without running in to this issue.
Thanks

I am a newby to MAC. The upside is when I pay another $60 to get them on the MAC (or do I buy iWorks?), the app for my iPad interaction is already in place. I suppose I missed that clear explanation from iTunes. OH well, good stuff anyway. Thank you Sir!

  • Cant get audio out from iPad airplay on optical audio

I have an apple tv in school for streaming video of drama classes to big screen. Apple tv is plugged into HDMI on projector and i airplay the videos from iPad. My issue is getting sound - the projector has no speaker in it so no sound is currently playing. I purchased an optical audio to 3.5mm jack lead to go from the rear of the apple tv to a set of speakers on my desk. Nothing seems to be happening - will this setup just not work or is there a way for my classes to hear the soound as i airplay it?
    Any help GREATLY appreaciated!
    Thanks

Where did you get the lead - it would ordinarily require a D/A converter between the optical connector and the 3.5mm jack...

  • Digital audio out from ipad 3?

    Hello there,
I have an ipad 3 (30 pins connection), running on iOS 6.1. I also have an external DAC/amp that I use for my PC. My question is, can I use the external DAC with my ipad? Meaning I want to extract the raw audio data from my ipad, and process it externally on my DAC.
I've searched the internet, but the answers just went north and south. Some say I can, with the camera connection kit (using the USB female plug). Some say I can't, must be an iDevice with lightning connector. Some say I can, but I must upgrade to iOS 7.
I've tried using the camera connection kit, plugging the DAC/amp to the USB input of the CCK. I do get sound from the connection, and it does sound different than compared to the LOD, but I don't know if it's different because it's using the external DAC, or the external amp.
Can anyone tell me, if what I'm trying to do is possible with the 30 pins connection? Or are there any ways to know/test if the sound I'm hearing is processed by ipad's DAC or my external DAC?
    Thank you in advance.

    Sure I did.
In bios it just mentioned onboard audio.

  • I need to have audio out from HDMI and headphone jack simultaneously

I need to have audio out from HDMI and headphone jack simultaneously.
I seem to be able to select one or the other, but not both ? !
    Thanks

No. You can only use one sound output:
Why can't I select HDMI audio on my Mac mini?
If you connect an HDMI display or television to a Mac mini (Mid 2010 or later), you might not be able to select the HDMI audio device (in System Preferences > Sound > Output). This can happen if you also have headphones plugged in to the computer. Unplug the headphones to be able to select HDMI audio.

  • HT5409 can i convert movies from iPad to mac laptop

Ihave  download a movie from ipad but it will not play on my mac air laptop with quicktime installed..??

Ihave  download a movie from ipad but it will not play on my mac air laptop with quicktime installed..??
Are you going to give us any additional clues as to what you are really asking here?
    1) The "HT5409" in your subject title reference implies you are dealing with AVCHD content. If true, then how did you transfer them to your iPad and how did you transfer them from your iPad to your your MacBook Air platform? As the HT409 topic clearly stated, this can be very important. In addition, how are the files stored? For instance , have you extracted the MPEG-4 AVC content as transport streams or is the content still in the device recorded file form? Are you trying to edit the content or convert it to M4V, MP4, or MOV files directly?
    2) The "can i convert movies from iPad to mac laptop" part of your subject title is confusing. Yes, AVCHD files can be converted to simpler MPEG-4 AVC content that is compatible with all current and most older Mac computers and Apple mobile devices in MOV, MP4, and/or M4V file formats. However, how you do this will depend on the current form of the data and the target settings you wish to employ to ensure compatibility with the various target device possibilities. Further, non-AVCHD content (e.g., HD iPad video recordings) can also be downconverted to simpler settings in a similar manner if needed or required if that is your questing.
    3) Depending on your operating system, both AVCHD and MPEG-4 AVC content should already be compatible with QT X v10.2 and v10.3 players if properly transferred to your laptop from the recording device. And, even if improperly transferred, may still be converted to useable/compatible formats as long as the file itself has not been corrupted by your, as yet, unspecified workflow.
    4) What does "will not play on my mac air laptop with quicktime installed" mean here? Are you trying to play an AVCHD movie in the QT 7 player or one of the QT X players? If the latter, which one? Are you getting any error message? If so, what are they? If not playing in your main user account on the computer, does it play useing a different account? Do the files play in other, third-party multimedia players?
Basically, your question is the equivalent of my saying my car won't start but failing to mention whether or not I am out of gas, my battery is dead, or that I have removoed the distributor cap, wires, or spark plugs from the engine. To properly solve the issue we need all possible information that you can provide describing exactly what you are doing, how you are doing it, what is not working as your expect it should, and what your goals are. In cases where you cannot answer such questions, it is often helpful to simply post/upload a sample "problem" file and let other users here examine it to determine the problem and/or suggest a specific solution for your particular system/configuration combination.

  • Simultaneous audio output from Ipad and bluetooth ?

Is it possible to have simultaneous audio output from IPAD and a bluetooth speaker? At present I can only get audio from the Bluetooth Speaker and nothing from the IPAD's audio out! My purpose is that my Mom will hold the IPAD to listen to her Audiobooks but my Dad who sits across the room and is hard of hearing needs a speaker close to him, so I need simultaneous audio from both devices.

Use this: http://smile.amazon.com/KOKKIA-A10m-MULTI-STREAM-Transmitter-concurrently/dp/B00 69G1SIC/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_1968491462?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*= 0&pf_rd_p=1968491462&pf_rd_s=smile-campaign&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0069G1SIC&pf_rd _m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1N57Q0YT9QW7Y1K596YD and use two Bluetooth speakers for them. The speaker output on the iPad is pretty limited and your mother will probably have a hard time hearing it. Get a BT speaker for both and the above device and they both can listen from whatever location they want (within 40 feet) and get better sound.

  • I am having trouble sending an audio signal from my computer (mac pro early 2009) to my TV.  Is there some interface or adapter that allows /enables the audio input from my computer to be sent to the TV (R,L signal?) any suggestions

I am having trouble sending an audio signal from my computer (mac pro early 2009) to my TV.  Is there some interface or adapter that allows /enables the audio input from my computer to be sent to the TV (R,L signal?) any suggestions

just  the audio, eh?. If you were using DVI or DisplayPort that might be different, but for audio alone, it shouldn't be that hard.  Just grab a 3.5 mm stereo plug to 2 rca cables adapter. Plug the smaller end into the back of your Mac Pro (or the Front), where you see either the headphone or speaker icon). Alt-click on the speaker icon at the top of your screen to show all audio inputs and outputs. Make sure it's set to Line Out.  Plug the red and white end into the audio in jacks on the back of your tv and set it to the correct input. I don't know if your tv will allow just the audio to play. Usually one has to connect up something else, but hopefully I'm wrong.  If you were using DVI, or DisplayPort, you'd need an active DVI--HDMI adapter or a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, but
    I don't know for sure

  • MBP audio out from headphone jack is extremely low in volume

i just sent my macbook pro 13in (mid 2009 model) to the apple store (out of warranty). my problem was that the audio out from the headphone jack was very very low and staticky. the problem arose about 2-3wks ago. i've owned the laptop since june 2009. i've never dropped or damaged it (no water damage, etc)
my local apple store told me they had to replace logic board which seems extreme for what my problem is. i've read numerous forum posts saying that their computers came back with flickering "kernel panic"
has anyone else had a similar audio problem with their computer, and if so was it resolved in this manner?
    thanks!

I think you may be mistaken. the static coming from macbooks audio output port is as old a story as the macbook itself. IMO, epic fail on apple's part. I am debating complaining in a few months when I decide I deserve a better sound quality from a ridiculously overpriced laptop.

  • I transferred a pages file from ipad to mac (also pages) via email for editing. However received message that cannot save edited document to the mac because "trial period has expired for iwork"! I have purchased pages for both machines separately. Ideas?

I transferred a pages file from ipad to mac (also pages) via email for editing. It opened normally. However, after editing, received message that cannot save edited document to the mac because "trial period has expired for iwork"! I have purchased pages for both machines separately and presumed they would work without a hitch. Am I missing something?

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

  • Audio Out from iMac

Hi there....on my iMac, suddenly I'm only getting audio out from the headphone jack at the back (which goes into my JBL Creature II's) on the RIGHT hand side. it does seem that suddenly the output jack socket has become defective....anyone else had this kind of thing?

Try it with something else, such as iPod earbuds, to make sure the problem is not on the speaker side.
Also, check System Preferences Sound pane Output tab to make sure the Balance setting did not get set all the way to the right side somehow.
If it's still broken, try resetting the PRAM

  • Transferences from ipad to mac

How we can transfer music from IPAD to Mac without without using sincronization process.

There are 3rd party solutions available that are not supported by Apple. You will have to search for information how to do this elsewhere. If you legally purchased the music from iTunes you can contact Apple and they may assist you in redownloading your music depending on the circumstances.
I strongly recommend that if your music is obtained from outside the iTunes store that you purchase iTunes match for $24.99 a year as this will ensure a copy of all your music is always available for download from Apple through iCloud.
