I had a really hard time finding a micro usb OTG cable anywhere locally (Future shop, Best Buy, specialty computer stores, etc). These cables freely available on the web, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of ordering and shipping a cable just to connect to the usb port and confirm that it works as advertised. The usb host was critical for me. The solution was to follow the recommendation in the following review: http://www.mobiletechreview.com/tablets/Toshiba-Excite-10.htm The reviewer recommended purchasing a Sony Tablet S usb adapter cable, as it is the easiest to find. As per the Apple Store catalog, not now. There's TB to Ethernet, TB to Firewire, but no USB. Heck, the TB to FW almost caused a revolution cause Apple took way too long to put it out to market.
Maybe in other shops/suppliers, but wouldn't hold my breath. Just like when FW came out, TB is still a mostly Apple novelty that other makers have not yet widely adopted.

that's kind of like asking - what guitar should I use with GB? There are tons of guitars and tons of keyboards, so the "best" one has to do with what is best for you, your budget, your preferences.
M-Audio makes good bang-for-the-buck keyboard controllers, so they are often well-matched with GB. And they work fine with your iMac as well.
If you're looking for something with semi-weighted keys, I would recommend their Axiom series. I'd recommend getting one with enough octaves so you're not frustrated by a lack of notes.
If you want a weighted keyboard, they make that too (the keystation Pro). Here's M-Audio's page of keyboard controllers:

Their digital pianos would also work (as would those from other manufacturers like Yamaha, Roland, etc.) and include their own sounds so you can use them away from the computer:

I'm not big on any keyboards that don't have at least semi-weighted keys, although maybe that's not something you care about, and if you're looking for the cheapest solution, something with "synth action" - basically, tiny springs - might be sufficient.

Things that are nice but not critical:
24AWG wires - the premium cables from my favorite supplier are in this category. The cheap ones are 28AWG. (Larger number = thinner wire). 24AWG wires will make the cable more reliable and also more durable, but also less flexible. The big ripoff artists like Monster won't even tell you this particular specification! If you are paying more than $10 for a 6-foot 24AWG cable, you are paying too much by the way.
Net/mesh jacket/sheath - provides a little extra protection for the cable and looks nice too. Still, again - don't pay more than $10 for a 6-foot cable or you're getting ripped off.

The new Airs have mini displayport connectors. I don't know what ports your monitor has, but if it has an HDMI input you can use a mini-DP to HDMI adaptor (these are available from Apple) and then a regular HDMI cable to connect to the screen. Similarly, a mini-DP to DVI adaptor and DVI cable if that's the port you have on your monitor.

You'll need to tell us more about your setup.
It could be any number of things, like what effects are you using?
Or did you know that where your guitar is placed in relation to other electronics can create a magnetic field that is picked up by the guitars pickups? Try moving your guitar around by facing it in other directions and see if that helps.
Without more info though, that's all I can suggest.

No, the iPhone 4 only accepts the 30-pin dock connecter, and the camera connection kit which can accept a USB connecter but not for cabling purposes.
Why are you trying to use an HDMI cable with an iPhone? You cannot output or input with it.

Capture Cards fro Premiere: What is best bang for the buck

I am looking to upgrade to the new Premiere and I am having a computer built for it. I wanted to find out what would be the best solution for capture cards. I will be wanting to capture analog (S-video cable) video in larger chunks, maybe up to 30 minutes or more. But doing this through firewire in the past, the audio would get out of sinc. What capture card has the best bang for the buck to accomplish this?

The challenge of using 3rd party tools (sw and hw) to bolster PPRO is you will be forever in the game of updating drivers here and there to make sure this or that works with that or this. Then when adobe updates their sw, the game begins anew with no guarantee of anything working together.
So; the promise of faster and better comes at a price of complexity and sometimes frailty and often a very short life. Well worth it for some; nightmare for others.
Consider a simple A/D converter for acquiring analog sd video. Or a cam with analog passthr.

no. only "Class Compliant" interfaces meet that criteria. interfaces that aren't require software from the manufacturer to make the interface work on the mac. often when Apple updates the System software, new drivers are needed, and this can take days, weeks, or longer, from some companies, hence my reasoning for wanting a class compliant interface

that's a solid interface
also, is protools the software most commonly used by professionals
protools and logic are probably the big two.
