Best Calendar App to connect to Google Calendar and color code appointments

I am looking for a replacement calendar app that will connect to Google Calendar and allow me to color code individual appointments.  I have looked at a ton of apps in the app store but none of them talk about the color coding option I am looking for.  I don't want to do the trial and error thing and waste my time and money.

  • Calendar app that handles multiple Google calendars?

Can anyone recommend a calendar app that handles multiple Google calendars in a single account, including one of what  Google's desktop web site shows as  "My calendar" calendar plus one "Other calendar" calendar?
    Thanks.

Calendar can have two or more calendars calendars listed at the same time.
Each can be a different color for identifidation.
The first screenshot shows that the Medical and Joint calendars are shared calendars.
    Will that work for you?

  • My iPhone won't sync calendar to iCloud, only to Google calendar, which I've never used. Events from iCloud sync to the phone and to Google.  Huh???

My iPhone 3GS (ios 5.1) won't sync calendar to iCloud, only to Google calendar, which I never authorize or use.  Yet when I entere an event on the iCloud calendar, it syncs to the iPhone (and to Google calendar) just fine.  Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iCloud cannot sync with Google calendars, so it would seem that you may be using the wrong calendar account. Click on the calendar button in the top right hand corner of the calendar app and check which calendar you are adding your events too.

  • I am trying to share calendars with my husband (using Google calendars). He can see my calendars, but I am having trouble seeing his. We both use iPhones.

I am trying to share calendars with my husband (using Google calendars). He can see my calendars, but I am having trouble seeing his. We both use iPhones. We both have company email addresses. I have had to install and uninstall my gmail info on my iPhone multiple times due to errors sending and receiving emails from my company email address on my phone. For some reason, all of my emails are getting stuck in my outbox when my gmail account is installed on my phone. When I delete it, my emails get sent automatically. This is really annoying! I would do without the gmail account, but I need to share calendars with my husband. How do I fix this?

If you have two-step verification turned on in your email account, you'll have to log in with a browser and turn it off.

  • Calendar apps:  1. That my wife and I can share.  2. That shows some of the text in the full month view.  3.  That can have "public" events and "private" events.

    Hello All,
I am looking for a calendar app that my wife and I can share on both of our iphones.  I am new to this and haven't found an app that will do what I want.
    1. I want the full month view to show some of the text of each event:  Like Pocket Informant and Monthly Calendar Mocha do (not just a dot).
    2. That both of us can post and see each other's events.
    3. That each of us can post "private" events that the other person won't see on their phone.  Things like, "Wife's surprise party."
    4. That sync's both calendars automatically.
I know a lot of people use Fantastical, but I don't think that would give me the text in the full month view.
Is there an app that can do all of the above?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rick

Sharing and syncing is a feature of the calendar database; you can have multiple calendars, and each can be private, shared with specific other iCloud users, or public. If you have a Mac you can set that up in the Calendar app; for either Mac or Windows you can set it up by logging in to iCloud.com using your Apple ID.
The other calendar apps all use the Apple calendar database; they just have different ways of presenting the content, and can also take advantage of "hidden" features of the Apple calendar database (such as adding icons to entries).

  • HT2513 Can I share an iCal calendar with someone who uses Google Calendar?

That's basically the question.  I use iCal and I want to share one of my calendars with someone who uses Google Calendar and doesn't have any Apple products.  Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Mark

I didn't explain correctly. Right now I share (subscribe) a calendar on Mobile Me , in addition to my own personal calendar. That shared calendar is staying on Mobile Me and I need to be able to access it once I move my personal calendar to iCloud. That is, if I use iCloud can I share calendars that are not on iCloud, but are on MobileMe?
You can't do this: when you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud the calendars will be transferred there and no longer available on MobileMe.
You can share calendars privately or publicly from iCloud: private calendars can only be viewed by nominated iCloud members; public calendars can be viewed by anybody in a CalDAV client such as iCal or Google Calendar (though they are non-editable).

  • Cannot Connect to Google Calendar in Mail, Contacts & Calendars preferences

I recently obtained a new Mac and am playing with Mountain Lion for the first time. I'm trying to add my Google Apps (custom domain, not @gmail.com) account to the Mail, Contacts & Calendars control panel. I was able to add Mail, Messages, and Notes without any issues, but it's refusing to connect to Calendars & Reminders. When I attempting connecting, it gives me an error...
A secure connection couldn't be established.
Click “Continue” to continue creating the account. You can edit the account later in Calendar preferences if necessary.
So I click "Continue" to... well, continue. Eventually, I've given this error:
There was a problem setting up the account.
Calendar couldn't discover the account settings for the CalDAV server “google.com”.
Just out of curiousity, I went into the Calendar app to directly add my Google account. Doing so also gives me an error:
    Server with Secure Communication Unavailable
Your calendar account isn't on a server that can receive your calendar securely.
If a server isn't secure, others may be able to view your calendar information. To continue searching for your account on servers that may not be secure, and then set up the account if it's found, click Continue.
So I go ahead and click Continue. After waiting some more, I finally get the error...
No CalDAV servers were found for "google.com".
This message appears on the Account Settings sheet where you can add a CalDAV account. If I manually type in the Server Address here (https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user), Calendar claims it still cannot connect to a secure connection. This time, clicking Continue does add the account. (I'm assuming through a non-secure conncetion.) If I try to edit the Account Settings, it takes me to the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars control panel where Calendars & Reminders for my Google account is now selected.
I can only assume this is a weird bug with Mountain Lion, but needless to say, this is far from the "it just works" mentality I've been use to.
This was not an issue with iCal on Snow Leopard, which is what I'm coming from.

I was having similar issues and thought I would put down what solved my problem.
In "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" I didn't choose "Gmail" I used "Add Oter Account…" as previously mentiond.
Then I chose "Add a CalDav account"
Under User Name: I entered my entire gmail address
Under Password: I entered a new "Application Password" key as generated by Googles two step verification process.
Under Server Address: I tried to use just "google.com" and "www.google.com" neither of these worked - only errors. So I used the address as listed on Google Calender when clicking on settings for my main calendar. There is a link that will give you your calendars private address. I shortened it to:
    www.google.com/calendar/ical/your_gmail_address_goes_here
    Then it worked immediately!

  • Downloaded (free) CalenMob app to sync to google calendar, and it only shows my calendar entries but not the entries of my coworkers I share the calendar with. How do I sync to google calendar so I can see the entries of people I share my calendar with?

I downloaded the free CalenMob app to sync phone with shared google calednar at work, but I can only see the calendar entries of some of my coworkers but not all - even though all of our calendars are shared.  Is CalenMob the best app to use for syncing to google calendar? Do I need to enter the coworkers' gmail account info onto my phone in order for their calendar entries to show up on my phone calendar?

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox

  • Calendar (Lightning) will not connect to Google Calendar

I have read this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-lightning-google-calendar , but I still seem to be having some trouble getting Lightning to work with Google.
All I am trying to do is get read-only access to the calendar (read/write would be ideal, but it seems Provider for Google Calendar hasn't been compatible with Thunderbird/Lightning for a while), so I have done the following:
    - Made my Google calendar public
    - Copied the iCal URL
    - Created a new calendar in Lightning using the Google iCal URL
I've tried every possible combination of 'http'/'https' and iCal and CalDAV, with no luck. None of my events/appointments will show up in Lightning at all, even though the calendars are 'successfully' created.
    I'm using:
    - Mac OS X 10.9.2 "Mavericks"
    - Thunderbird 31.0
    - Lightning 3.3
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks!! I was successfully able to install Provider 0.32 for Lightning 3.3, so I now have read/write access. Previously, when I got the incompatibility error with 0.32, I think I will still using Lightning 2.6, maybe. I had just updated Thunderbird/Lightning earlier today and hadn't re-tried the Provider.
Just wanted to note that I also tried the CalDAV with iffy success. It would not let me dismiss any reminders at all. When the calendar synced, I 27 reminders pop up, but every time I hit "Dismiss All", the window would disappear briefly, my calendar seemed to 'refresh', then all the reminders came back immediately.
Long story short, Provider is working, and I am extremely happy that I don't have to deal with Google Apps directly.
    Thanks!

  • ICal not connecting to Google Calendar - HTTP 404 error

    Hi there
I've just bought my first Mac, and I'm running Mountain Lion, just updated to 10.8.1. When I set the system up, I fed in the details of my Google account, and it merrily put my Gmail into the Mail app, and Notes also syncs. But, the Calendar app is giving me continual problems, with this same error message:
    "Your calendar couldn't be refreshed.
The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user///calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct."
I've tried deleting and re-adding the Google calendar; the whole Google account; the iCloud account (because various fourms seem to think this is an issue) and none of it has helped. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

From an email from Google Enterprise support. This is encouraging. The fix I found (clear Calendar caches) was temporary. It lasted about an hour before I started getting the oddities again. Problem is definitely with Google Apps. Who really knows though . . . could be something in Apple's programming too.
"Thank you for your patience while we work with your issue.
"At this time I’m in close consultation with a higher level support department. We are currently working on this issue. I’ll be updating you as soon as I hear back from them. I wish you have a great day."

  • Looking for calendar app that can sync multiple calendar colours in outlook

I Have multiple colour categories in my calendar  but need a calendar app that can sync with outlook. Do NOT want to sync with google calendar. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi ron1098,
Try my application Dates to iCal. it runs on the Mac, but you can sync the calendar to your iOS device.
See more about Dates to iCal here. It is £4 shareware with a 2 week demo.
    Best wishes

  • Calendar App showing a new blank calendar that I can't delete or rename.

So suddenly my iPod has two separate calendars in the Calendar app, one identified with a red dot, the other with an orange dot, and I can neither delete nor rename this new second calendar. Both are named 'Calendar,' and I have the option to view either one or 'All.' The new one is blank; there are no events. I can see where having multiple calendars would be useful - for example, family stuff and work stuff could be on separate calendars - but not as much if I can't add, delete or rename these separate calendars.
I think this second blank calendar appeared today, after I added the Google App to my iPod, and also after I tried syncing my iPod calendar to Outlook (with no success, it seems - Outlook's calendar is blank).
Sorry if this is a stupid question - I've been looking online, and gone through the manual and all the settings - I can't find the solution.
    Thanks!
    Candace

    Wayne,
Quit iCal, open Address Book, and click on your card. Then select Address Book>Card>Make this My Card.
If that does not fix the problem, then delete and recreate your card, and once again make sure to designate it with "Make this My Card.

  • Calendar will not sync with Google calendar. Won't accept my Gmail password.

    iPhone 5s 16GB (2.9 GB free), iOS 8.1.3
When I attempt to enter an event in Calendar, I get a message "Password Incorrect.  Enter the password for the Gmail account "Gmail'".
But when I try to enter my Gmail password, the app won't accept it and the same message appears.  And entries don't show up on my Google calendar..
I tried turning off calendars in iCloud but that didn't help.  Also turned off all calendars
This is not an operating system issue - keeps happening through several iOS updates.

Correction: Turned off all calendars in calendar app other than Google calendar for my Gmail account.

  • How do I share server based Ical calendars to external users on google calendar

I need to share some server based calendars with google calendar.  I know how to export but how do I keep the connection live so that when I put a new event into iCal on the server it automatically updates to google calendar?  I was looking for a way to publish my server calendar to a hosting server but I can not even work out how to do that.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • My iPhone calendar is not syncing to Google Calendar or Outlook.

I was previously using MobilMe sync for calendar fine until the req 'upgrade' last week.  Now cal WILL NOT sync to phone from outlook (2 hours on support with Apple.  They have concluded it must be a Microsoft issue . . . however, it was working fine before the required upgrade). Anyway, MobilMe is now a boat anchor, so I am trying 2-way Google syncing to take the iPhone appts from my phone to Google --> and Google --> Outlook.  The 2-way sync between Google and Outlook is fine, and I can see Google and the separate iPhone appts on my PHONE - however, I cannot get the phone appts to sync to Google so that they can sync to Outlook.  Help!!!
Outlook 2007, Windows 7, iPhone 4, Frustrated infinity.

    Hi, Ericka.
Yes, I have the Google sync app.  It is doing the 2-way sync correctly between Google calendar and Outlook.  On my iPhone I can see both my iPhone Calendar and the Google calendar.  The challenge is that there isn't any syncing moving appointments from my phone to Google . . . which will then move to my Outlook.  What is so frustrating is that all of this worked on the old MobilMe calendar.  I don't know why they forced us to move to something that doesn't work!!!
    Thanks for your help.
