    We will begin testing/training before our LMS is functional. 
    We have no shared network capability or SharePoint type platform.  Project is too large for e-mail even when zipped.
    I am thinking that we will have to use thumb drive/CD along those lines.

    Thank you for the update Dlawrenceusa.  I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the updates that are failing to apply to determine the exact cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Creative Cloud Help / Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC.  You are welcome to post any specific error messages you discover to this discussion.

  • Deleting document from general documentation tab in implementation project

    Hello,
    We tried to delete a document from gen. documentation tab in an implementation project, since the gen. documenation tab is greyed out, we couldn't do so. The document is a link from a template project, we tried to delete it (by using the trash can icon) from there first, but the system says "the document is still in use".
    Does anyone of you know how to delete a document which has been linked to implementation projects based on a template project?

    Hi Li,
    Here's a solution you can try for your problem.
    Go to your template project in SOLAR01and mark the line of the document you want to delete and press the remove button (red minus icon).
    Then go to your implementation project and go to the same place where that linked document is. Click on the <b>Adjust to Original</b> icon (looks like two little boxes with two arrows pointing down.) when you click on this icon, you will get a pop-up window where on the left hand side is your template (original) and the right your implementation (current). On the left, you will see a blank line with the red minus icon and on the left you will see the document you are trying to remove. select that line and click on "Adjust selected entries" icon that's in the middle of the screen.
    Notice both lines became blank, once that's done, click on complete icon at the bottom.
    You're document has been removed from your implementation project.
    Note: This is the only way that I have found for this issue. This does not mean that the document was completely deleted from Solution Manager....just the link to your project. If ever in the future you want to link it back, you can still find it with SOLAR_EVAL.

However I am then unable to open I-Tunes when holding down the shift button as directed in step 4 - this means I am not seeing the library choice box and cannot synch the tunes into ITunes library - any tips please?........Alan

    Close iTunes. Click the icon to launch iTunes and immediately press and hold down the left shift key. Keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library. If iTunes opens normally, close it,  and try again.

    I agree with Grant. But to answer your question, that would be Word 2008. A quick search turns it up on sale at Amazon. You'll need to find it somewhere other than Microsoft itself, since MS stopped selling it when they released Word 2011.

    If you have an Intel Mac and have recently upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion; here is a post I made in another similar thread:
    I do not have any experience with Final Cut, but if you have existing projects that you MUST access; then you are in need of a solution on your new iMac in Mountain Lion!
    Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
    However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between Final Cut Pro or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Purchase a used Mac that will run Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta installed) and continue to run FCE on that Mac (you can actually use Screen Sharing with a "headless" used Snow Leopard Mac Mini and use the screen from your other Mac to view and work FCP in the Mac Mini environment);
    2.  Upgrade to an Intel compatible version of FCP (such as FCP X) and hope it converts your existing projects to its newer format correctly.  There is much debate that the newer version of Final Cut are eliminating many needed features; for example Final Cut Pro X vs. Final Cut Pro 6 -- many users are staying with version 6;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels and then install FCE in the Snow Leopard environment:

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
    DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

    Cellular calling doesn't yet work reliably.
    Make sure you've followed the instructions in this support article. Note that both iCloud and FaceTime on the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple ID; those are two separate steps. Also note that the Mac and the phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Ethernet won't work. Trying to pair the phone to the Mac as a Bluetooth device won't work either.
    If cellular calling still doesn't work, sign out of FaceTime and sign back in. You may have to do the same on the phone. The email address that you use as your Apple ID must be able to receive FaceTime calls.

    I just got my mac a month ago so go easy on me but I was just working with the pages that was already on it, and then today I know it updated, and now I am unable to open a lot of my documents!:(  Idk what you mean by the icloud version lol sorry! As for the version, when I open pages from my apps and click 'about' it says version 5.1? And when I open the document it just goes grey and kind of blinks and doesnt open? No error message or any indication of why it will not open now when I for sure have opened it in the past! Andddd for the OS X I think it is 10.9.1 ??

  • WHAT IS THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY OF ORGANISING DOCUMENT FILING ?

    I know this sounds dumb, but I am flummoxed about how to organise filing of folders on my Mac. In the real world filing is easy but computers seem to make it completely different & a nightmare.
    I have ten years worth of using various macs all copied onto the latest one & now occupying about 230 Gigabytes. There are loads of duplicated files and repeated backups from all those years just sitting around taking up space & making it impossible to find anything.
    Obviously I was careless about filing right from the start, not realising what a mess it would get into.
    In the real world you can just clean up an untidy mess and make it tidy, organised and easy to find things. But in the real world you dont have an electronic lunatic duplicating everthing all the time. With over a million files to look at & sort it is simply impossible to do what you would do in the real world.
    One obvious solution is just to archive it and start again. But this time I would like to know how to stop this happening again and what is the best 'system' or way of organising files to stop it all becoming a total mess again.
    What seems to happen is that my good intentions of having about ten folders on my desktop to cover ten areas of activity naturallly degraded as when you have a busy day you collect all sorts of things on the desktop outside of those folders which you want to just leave on the desktop to deal with and complete another day.
    This process happens every day and so when you then clean up the desktop you just bung all those files in the basic ten folders. But that just means you transfer the mess from the desktop into the ten basic folders and the same process just gets endlessly repeated all the way down through each hierarchical layer of the folders.
    This is obviously a problem everyone has, and some bright spark must have worked out a way of preventing this from happening.
    i.e. someone must have worked out the best way of organising a filing system on a Mac.
    And part of this problem is illustrated by email which I have no idea how to stop getting bigger & bigger.
    The only solution I can think of is to archive my whole desktop on an external disk and start all over again from the begining by setting up a brand new account. But while this would work to start off with, unless I can work out some way of doing things better, it will also eventually become a horrible, cluttered mess.
    Has anyone got any ideaas about how to deal with this problem. It must be a problem for everyone really ?

    Well, there are two sides to this. The first is obviously the organizing of your files, which is something that you really have to work out your own solution for. I don't know what your ten folders are called, but it seems that that's not working for you as a way to keep things managed on a daily basis. What kind of files are these - documents (eg Word files), photos, something else? Do they all need to be filed in folders? (If they're images, there are better ways to manage them - eg iPhoto). Do they all even need to  be kept?
    The other side to this is retrieval. We keep things organized so that we can easily retrieve them. However, the advantage of a computer-based system, above a paper filing system, is that you can have multiple ways of getting to information without having to change the way the files are stored. For example, the Finder can store searches as Smart Folders, meanings that you can search documents for "Tax Return" and store the results in a sidebar shortcut. Any documents containing that text (whether in the title or in the document itself, your choice) will automatically be displayed in that "folder" (although you're not moving files, you're simply displaying the result of a search).
    Similarly, tags in 10.9 Mavericks are designed to let you add keywords to files (such as "Urgent", "Pet Information", "Household", "Financial", and so on), and documents tagged this way are automatically shown collected in the sidebar.
    Email services are moving in the same direction. You *can* spend a period of time every day manually filing email into mailboxes you've created to organize them, but a more efficient method can be to leave them all in one folder (ie, the inbox), tag them appropriately, and then display the tagged results as folders (this is what Gmail does with labels), or search for specific criteria (show me all mail from Bob with attachments, show me all mail that includes the phrase "Project Werewolf".
    If you can figure out a smart retrieval system that works for you, I would recommend that over the manual organization which is currently causing you frustrations. Do some basic organizing, sure - you don't want everything in one huge folder - but don't forget there are tools which are there to help you find things quickly.

When i'm posting a document in F-37 or F-29 (Customer Down Payment Request or Customer Down payments) I want to link the down payment to the Sales Document. For that I need the Sales Document Field and the Sales Document Item field in that transaction code. I need to add that field in that T.Code. Please advice. I have a doubt that it comes from the Subscreen for Coding blocks. I want to know how to select the needed subscreen for coding blocks. Please let me know ASAP

    With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
    what version of iPhoto are you using?
    what system version are you running?
    how are you getting the slideshow into iDVD?
    what size slideshow did you send to iDVD?
    can you export the slideshow to the Desktop and play it with Quicktime Player there?
    what fixes have you tried?
    how much free space on your boot drive?
    Here's how you should create and sent a slideshow to iDVD from iPhoto:
    Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium or Large. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
    Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
    Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
    Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
    To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
    Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
