  • Best DVD to iPod Converter

I just got a New iPod video and I was looking for some advice for the best DVD to iPod Converter. The two programs that I have been looking at are
1.) Super DVD to iPod Converter and
2.) PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter
Both of them run around $30 and boast that they are the fastest. Anyone have any input?

Well, I'll disagree. I've used quite a few and to me, PQ DVD is by far the best. It records all DVD's, not just ones that aren't encrypted. All of them are slow, pretty much 1:1 when doing a movie. Meaning, if your video is a hour long, it's going to take an hour to do it. I just start it before I go to bed. I don't really know why support is needed- it is an extremely simple program to use. Personally, the how long have they been around thing doesn't mean a hill of beans to me. It works, it's simple, and affordable.

  • What is the best DVD-ripping software for mac?

what is the best DVD-ripping software for mac?

Handbrake to copy to avi or mp4(I use it for watching my DVD's on the go, so my battery lasts for a longer time)
I think MP4 is better quallity.
To copy a DVD: simply use Toast (maybe withe popcorn, but I don't use it).
But, be legal! This is a forum, and anyone can see your posts!

  • BEST DVD TO IPOD SOFTWARE

Does anyone have an opinion on the best DVD to Ipod software to purchase? I've tried the trial versions of PQDVD, Xilisoft, and Cucusoft and have found problems and numerous differences with those. If there are any others out there please let me know that may be better/easier/higher quality, etc.. Also, I am trying to convert home movies that are on DVD-R's, it seems as though PQDVD can sometimes convert them, but they freeze up or don't show up at all on the others. A regular DVD was no problem on any of them. Thanks!

theres this doftware but this can be troublesome for soem and not for others. but remember this is a 3rd party software that is not suported by apple. any and all quesitons should be directed on their website not here.all links below

  • Best dvd-r recording material

I am having a problem searching for the best dvd-r material to use. I keep getting problems with canon dvd-r recording captures.
Can someone guide me in the recommened brands of DVD-R material?
I understand most people rely on Taiyo Yuden as the least problematic. Is this so?

    Dave:
I found this site about * Media Brand vs. Manufatrurer Brand * useful to choose media. You can use Toast to check the media ID to be sure you get what you want.
    Hope that helps !

  • Best DVD Burning Settings?

Using Toast 7 and .img file, what is the best DVD media to use, and what are the best Toast 7 settings to use in burning a DVD?
    Thanks,
    Stuart

Use 'minus' media and write at a low speed (2x - but not higher than 4x).

  • What is the best DVD burner?

What is the best DVD burner for a G4 Dual? Internal or external? Brand? I am having burn problems wherein some burned DVDs do not run. I use a burn speed of 1xDVD with Toast 7 and an image file.
    Thanks,
    Stuart

Many like the Pioneer (DVR-110D) or NEC (ND-3550A) brand. Since you have an MDD, I'd install a new drive underneath the original (if the original drive is still good). My MDD has the original Pioneer DVR-104 and a new DVR-110D. Internal drives are much less expensive that external drives (~$40 for OEM drive versus $179 for boxed external). I was able to get Toast Titanium for $39 (with rebates) and the 110D for $40.

  • Best DVD Software

Can anyone tell me what the best movie to DVD software is out there? I am trying out Fotomagic, I have Imovie 08, 06 on my desktop as well as FCE. Which one will produce the best DVDs with regards to picture.
    Thanks

The way to go would be to get a software bundle - software that is designed to work amongst the various applications - such as either Final Cut Studio Pro, or the Adobe Suite.
After having used both programs for many years now (I work in Post Production & actually teach these systems + others) I'd say it is down to personal preference. After using and teaching these, I PERSONALLY prefer Final Cut Studio Pro. It is just a0 beautiful piece of software to use.
I would not recommend using various individual software components, especially if this is a regular thing for you, as i have found that this is where a lot of the problems will arise - trying to export/transfer your projects from one to another. It has caused me heartache in the past. It is so much better to get a software bundle that is designed to work together! TRUST ME!
And for what it's worth, after having to use both Mac and PC for the past many years (scary to think!) I would say that Mac is so UNBELIEVABLY BETTER, easier to use, smoother, and so incredibly hassle free when compared with its PC rivals!
Keep us posted with what you decide

  • What is the best dvd burning program with a nice menu like idvd that works with Final cut pro

What is the best dvd burning program with a nice menu like idvd that works with Final cut pro, I am wanting to burn mainly wedding dvds but also sports and other things we used to use idvd but then upgraded our computers and now we dont have it. idvd was the only thing i could find that worked.
    Thanks

There is no real substitute for iDVD.
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac? How do I get it and how do I install it?
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3673
To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.

  • Best DVD format for burning Using iDVD '09?

I have created some movies using iMovie with recordings from my digital camcorder. What is the best DVD format to use when burning them to disc using iDVD? I am new to this. Thanks

    I mean, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, etc. Thanks
I have found DVD+R to be more reliable than DVD-R. The only disadvantage to DVD+R is that DVD players manufacture before 2003 may not play them.
I would recommend Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs. (I get excellent results using iMovie 06 with iDVD 11.)

What is the reason for using something less than the maximum burn speed? Thanks.
    I burn at 4X.
Burning too slow is often just as bad as burning too fast. Rule of thumb is to burn at 1/2 the max speed of the media's max.
"But believe it or not, there are still people who insist on waiting 55-60 minutes to burn a CD or DVD at 1x speed, because they are convinced anything faster will yield a bad or "lower" quality burn. However, burning too slow is often just as bad as burning too fast. Because of this unreasonable impulse to go too slow, some discs and drives now block out the lower range too"

  • Best DVD training for FCS2?

Well, since FCP 6 is still VERY new, there might not be much. But this is a great set for FCP 5.

  • Best DVD ripper

What is the best DVD ripper(free please) for windows?

Unfortunately, here is an excerpt to the ToU here:
    Keep within the Law
No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
You can look at the entire ToU by clicking on the link at the bottom of every page.
Now, if you want to copy a movie you made previously, that would be perfectly okay and you can use something like Handbrake for it.

  • What is the best DVD Creator for a Mac Book Pro to replace iDVD?

What is the Best DVD Creator for a Mac Book Pro to replace iDVD?  Have Maverick OS.

I have already looked at other threads in this forum, so 'I venture forth' to ask my question here:
I have a 44 minute carefully edited iMovie with several chapter markers. I dimly recollect that when you 'dump' the entire movie into iDVD (my version is 7.1) it should detect the markers and create buttons to link to specific scenes. Well, the 'dumping' process obviously doesn't work.
How do you get iDVD to recognize the markers and ceate buttons to link?
I can create with iDVD a DVD that will play the movie in its entirety. This is not suitable for my purposes. I need access via a menu to specific scenes.
    Thank you,
    Klaus

  • Best dvd to itunes ripper

What is the best DVD ripper to iTunes to use on my Mac?
I want to copy DVDs (that I own) to my iPad for use when traveling.

If you need one, here's a useful DVD Ripper Mac for you. Maybe it's not the best in the world (you know, nothing is perfect), but it's useful enough. It supports OS X 10.6 and above. And I've seen the OS of your Mac, you can use this program with ease. The usage is quite easy, you just need to Add File->choose output format->convert. You may learn more about it through the guide (click it) here. I do wish that help, and good luck to you.
