Best email data validation tools?

Hi all,
Does anybody have recommendations for a good data validation tool out there?
I have an email list that I want to send to but I'm not sure how many email addresses are valid and how many are not.

Thanks! We've tried that in the past and it works fine most of the time. Our only concern with datavalidation.com was the price and that there was a lot of good email addresses were being graded as do not send. Are there any other tools out there better than datavalidation.com?

Data Validation - Tool selection.

We are trying to validate our Enterprise Data warehouse and we would like to avoid giving SQL Server Management Studio access to the untrained Analysts. We initially wanted to use a single ODC connection in a spreadsheet and have each table tied to one sheet.
But the larger tables (487K rows) is bogging down the spreadsheet. However, even if we remove the larger tables, a couple of smaller once seem to freeze Excel also.
I have marked this as a discussion and I am looking for ideas on what end-user friendly tools you have used to validate data.

Yes this is normal way as you entered wrong value in s_bukrs unless and until you change that you cannot proceed further.
instead of at selection-screen on s_bukrs.
use at selection-screen.
if s_bukrs is not initial.
do processing .,
and display info message'
endif.
or ., instead of error message use dispaly like 'E'
like.,
at selection-screen on s_bukrs.
check authority.,

Well, I think I have answered my own question, but I will leave it here in case anyone else has the same problem.
So, as far as I have been able to track down, it all went wrong when I was running through the connection wizard.
Under the section titled "Creating the Data Source" is describes how to find your database file and create the appropriate connection string. However, on my version of VS Express 2010 . It offered me a prompts , saying something like, "would you like to
move this database file into the application directory and change the connection string" this sounded very sensible to me, so I said yes.
All proceeded accordingly. And the database file now appeared in the solution explorer.
The app config file said that the connection string was
Data Source=|DataDirectory|\Database1.sdf"
I presumed this would be interpreted correctly by the rest of the app, as it was generated by VS.
But it didn't, what I cannot understand is how no error was generated. And data seemed to pull
into the bound controls.
But I have been testing it for a while now. and it seems that if I manually override the config file with the actual directory where the file exists , then there is not a problem. Data is retained in the file
This is more of a VB.net question, but I couldn't find it in the drop down. I will try and move it there now

Data Validation - a feature that Numbers really needs.

Right now, the newly purchased Numbers app for iPad/iPhone is little more than a crippled document viewer for me because numbers doesn't support 'data validation' (as implemented in excel).
Its not a hard concept and likely utilized in a LOT of spreadsheets on the planet. Not supporting such a critical feature is a problem, as it makes numbers, at least for me, rather pointless as an authoring tool since I cannot change or update data in my worksheet without likely corrupting the document's data integrity.
Hopefully, someone at Apple is working on fixing this.
Given that one cannot use data validation - how do I lock down a spreadsheet so I don't accidentally change cell contents?
The fact that there is no 'undo' button on the iPhone version that I do get on the iPad (same app) makes it worse.. I'm occasionally and unintentionally dragging selections of stuff around the page really hosing up the iPhone spreadsheet.
So I need to just remember what needs to be updated, update the excel spreadsheet when I can, then delete the iWork-iCloud doc, upload the replacement, then refresh the iPhone/iPad version.. very cumbersome and not at all 'cloud-like' or usefull.
Apple developers.. are you paying attention?

How to setup data validation mechanism

Hi, gurus,
Now our customer wants to do data cleansing before loading data into infocube or ods, the source system includes R/3, flat file, and some legacy systems. However the client wants to create a staging area to keep incoming data, and develop some programming to check data validation. The specific requirement is as following:
1. Provider a user interface to let biz man to correct the error record;
2. can code logic to check the data rejection reason, such as field type is wrong, master data doesn't exist, and etc, and can prompt these reason message to assist business guy correct;
They want to create a specific staging for data cleansing purpose, and because refer to my prior experience with some ETL tools, we can ask developer to write embeded program in informatica or datastage to check data quality and write down the rejection reason in a file to assist business man correct;
so if we want to use SAP BW PSA for this purpose, is it feasible? Can we modify PSA to add one column, 'rejection reason' and add some ABAP program here; or you guys have some other good options for this function.
and can we use PSA to keep all data for 5 years? because the annual delta data is not very big, just 4G.
Someone suggests to create Z table in BW system for staging purpose, however this solution can not use BW ETL tool to load data but need heavy ABAP programming, so any good solution on this?
BTW: can I modify PSA structure to add 1 or 2 column, such as reject reason?
and how to use abap program to access Characteristics master data? are there any function module to read master data directly rather than select data from P table or T table?

I think if the business guy is given some basic BW training and some aspects about correcting PSA records or adding or loading missing master data,then it can work.
The BW monitor does give you good enough messages about the data load errors.
I do not think it is good to modify the PSA..because this is against purpose of having PSA.PSA has records in transfer structure format,as sent by source system.
PSA is often preserved for data reloads that might be needed some point in future.
As u r saying that annual record load is not big,u can preserve PSA and then later develop a custom program to delete PSA's older than..say 2-3 years..(there might a std program for this).
Modifying or adding columns to PSA is not general practice.
For reading master data maybe u can use this fn module..RSAU_READ_MASTER_DATA.

I used HTML tags like \n but then also it is not writing in to new line.It is coming as below.

What is the sql you are using? Is this Sql Server or Oracle?

If it is sql server Ive used the following in the past with SQL Server Studio, and just included the new line/Carriage return in the editor and it worked:

An error occurred during email account validation

Hello everyone
I have a seriously annoying problem with my BB Curve!
I added a language on to my phone using the Desktop Manager which resulted in the phone being backed up and reinstalled (like a reformat but the data wasn’t lost). Ever since then I am unable to access my email account information that I set up on the phone and wasn’t receiving emails (this coincided with the Blackberry blackout). After that I deleted the email account on using the website email account access for blackberry and re-entered my account information, this allowed the emails to come through my phone but I still cant access my email account information.
If I go to Main Menu > Setup > Email Accounts > Internet Mail Account the phone will hang up while trying access information
If I go to Messages > Options > Email Account Management, I get the following information “Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider” I have called Vodafone for the past 5 days now but they are of no help.
If I try to edit the account information (like signatures) on the hutch.blackberry.com website, I get the following error “An error occurred during email account validation. Please check your information and try again.”
Has this happened to anyone before? Is there any solution to this problem?
My phone is currently on Software version 6.0 Bundle 2342
Please help!!!

.txt file to .xml file using FVU 3.2 validation tool

Dear Gurus,
How to convert .txt file generated from T.Code J1INQEFILE needs to be validated using the FVU 3.2 validation tool which will convert it to xml. and then it can be uploaded at NSDL website. Please suggest the steps. I am in ECC 6.0.

The Bank Branch code (table T012-STCD1) field is not maintained for
the house banks and because of this, the error is coming. You may
have to maintain this data to get the file correctly. This is a
configuration error. So kindly make the configuration correctly to

PO Confirmation with Delivery Date Validation Check

Dear Experts,
We have requirement in SNC to restrict PO confirmation within a agreed Delivery Date tolerance. This Delivery date validation should work similar to the Quantity validation we have in SAP standard through the PO_ITMUNDERDELIVERY/ PO_ITMOVERDELIVERY validation profiles.
So the business wants that the Suppliers can only Confirm a PO when the Delivery date in the confirmation is within agreed tolerance (-5 / +1 day ) of the requested delivery date.
Can you please let us know if there is some standard way through configurations to achieve this. I looked for validation profiles available for delivery date, but could see only for Quantity validations.
Another option we looked for was to have a Z Table to store this Delivery date tolerance (-5/+1 days), and implement the BAdi /SCMB/BOL_VALFRMWRK to achieve through custom developments.
Please let me know what solution options we can have for this requirement, as it is urgent.

I think there is no need for Z-customization and you can achieve this standard way only thing you have maintained OWN validation:
After below setting whenever Supplier try to give confirmation which is out side tolerance then system won't allow him to save the confirmation and if supplier is EDI which sends ROC_IN confirmation XML will fail in SNC (You can see that XML in SXI_MONITOR tcode in SNC).

Configuration Data Transfer Tool

Hello all,
I am working with my client to plan our ME Configuration and we are trying to determine how best to propagate the configuration from one system to another (i.e. DEV to QA to PROD).
I understand there is a new tool being developed for SAP ME 6.0 called the Configuration Data Transfer Tool.
Will it be possible to use this tool for SAP ME 5.2.5? Has anyone tried to do this?
What are the overall recommendations and/or methods other folks have used to move their configuration to another system?
The goal is to move configuration and master data only, no transactional data.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Mari,
Configuration Data Transfer Tool is not a standalone application but just a feature (the activity) of ME 6.0 so you can't use it with ME 5.2.5. And there is no information about porting it back from 6.0 to 5.2.5.
In 5.x and prior releases, there is DataXchange tool mentioned by Ivan and Site2Site Transfer activity (you can find the guide next to Xchange guide on SMP).

Data modeling tool: physical model migration

Hi,
I have imported my relational model with a generated physical model for oracle 9i.
I'd like to migrate my DB to oracle 10g, but I don't feel like creating a new physical model for Oracle 10g from the scratch and configuring it all.
Is there any way to copy that oracle 9i physical model into an oracle 10g model? I know there could be any implementation change from 9i to 10g, but at least copy the main 99% (and warn about the 1% impossible to replicate in 10g).
Could this feature be taken into the production version?
By the way, is this a BUG? when I start the tool, my oracle 9i physical model is not shown in the tree, and I've to right-click over physical model, press open, and then select oracle 9i, to be shown in the tree. But I close the data modeling tool, and when I start again, there is no physical model shown in the tree :(

Web-based data visualization tools

Hi. I originally posted this question to the LV forum, but I am going to modify my question because I think Diadem may be a good solution for us.
I am embarking on a interesting research project that will involve recording lots of physiological signals from patient monitors in a hospital. I will be recording signals like BP, spO2, Pulserate, ECG, etc.
Right now, my main design concern is how to give clinicians access to the data after it is recorded. I think Diadem might be a good solution, but I really want it to be web-based.
Here is my wish list:
- Store the data securely, where access can be restricted and controlled (e.g. user must login)
- Allow users (who are granted access) to login and view historical data via a simple web browser
- Allow users to pick datasets amd zoom, scroll, etc.
- Allow user to view data in stacked plots (e.g. so they can see multiple signals simultaneously on the screen and scroll the time axis)
- Allow user to annotate data (e.g. add comments at specific timestamps)
Do you have any reccomendations for a web-based data visualization tool like this? Do you think Diadem meet my needs?

You application sounds like a great fit for DIAdem and the DataFinder, with the exception of the Web-based nature of the application. We currently do not offer a native web interface to DIAdem and it's features, but there are ways to accomplish that using established technologies such as remote clients ...
Here are my comments to your individual questions:

* The DataFinder Server (which works with DIAdem) technology can be used to give specific users access to only data they are supposed to see, so we can cover this part of your application
- Allow users (who are granted access) to login and view historical data via a simple web browser
* This would have to be achieved via a remote client solution, since DIAdem offers no native Web client
- Allow users to pick datasets amd zoom, scroll, etc.
* This is something that the DIAdem NAVIGATOR and DIAdem VIEW are very good at, including the ability to search for data sets based on specific key words, patient names, etc. and the ability to look at multiple data sets simultaneously in multiple windows with zooming and scrolling.
- Allow user to view data in stacked plots (e.g. so they can see multiple signals simultaneously on the screen and scroll the time axis)

Mass Maintenance to SAP Data Current Situation
If only a few tens of records are to be added or updated, entering this data manually into SAP is a reasonable option. However, if several hundred to several thousand records are to be updated, manual data entry is not an ideal choice. Manual data entry can get very expensive and time consuming and is not the best utilization of corporate resources this is especially wasteful for data that already exists in another digital format, e.g., Excel files. Not only that, manual data entry is very error prone and can lead to severely degraded data quality.
The SAP mass-change transactions are only useful for fairly simple data change scenarios where one or more fields need to be changed to a constant value for all records. Most mass changes scenarios are more complex than that and the second and third options are the ones mostly chosen.
