Best Financial/Banking S/W for Personal Use?

As Quicken will not be supporting the Mac Lion Update, I will require a replacement financial/banking software package for Quicken 2007.
I tried Quicken Essentials but it does not do what I need.
I am looking for the following features:
Check Printing
Memorized Transactions (QuickFill in Quicken)
Custom Reports
Memorized Reports
Scheduled Transactions
I do not need investment/budget/online banking features.
Sure would appreciate some advice!
Many thanks!
...John

Not sure how much you want to spend, John, and I don't know that all your requested features will be available, but for what it's worth, here's what I've tried (on my iPad/iPhone but these apps are also available for the Mac - I'm still evaluating so I haven't bought the Mac versions yet) which might be useful to you:
1. MoneyWiz - my favourite so far. I can't find the Check Printing feature, and I'm not sure what you mean by "Memorized Transactions" or "Memorized Reports. But there is something called "Duplicate" whereby the Account, Category, Description, Payee and amount are reproduced from a previous transaction entry, but with a new date (the date when the Duplicate entry is created). Memorized Reports - there is the ability to save reports locally within the App (so that you can view it again within the app), but it doesn't memorize, say, your wanting to create a report for accounts 1, 3 and 4 (but excluding 2 and 5) over the period of 20 Feb in year 1 till 19 Feb in year 2, and then reproduce a similar report for those 3 accounts for the period of 20 Feb in year 2 till 19 Feb in year 3. Custom Reports (as in custom date periods) and Scheduled Transactions are no problem.
I like it because it's easy to add expenses and income. Data is presented simply but in an easily accessible manner. Very nice set of 9 different reports possible with your choice of date ranges (including custom). Categories are easy to organise and edit (though icons are a little inadequate). Import options are decent (export is limited only to PDF and CSV though). Handles multi-currency too (I travel to different countries quite frequently so the ability to input expenses in different currencies is quite important).
2. iCompta - I can't find the Check Printing feature, and I'm not sure there are "Memorized Reports" (I don't see any way of even saving the reports). But there is Duplicate for transactions (if that's what your Memorized Transactions means), Custom Reports (custom date periods) and Scheduled Transactions.
This had some good reviews so I was looking forward to it but I have to say I was sorely disappointed. I can't find a way to import data and as far as I can see, it doesn't export data either (or at least, not easily...an .ofx format exported file refused to open in another program). This was a huge let-down as it's advertised as being able to import/export to CSV, QIF and OFX formats, and sync between iphone & ipad via Bonjour. Needless to say, syncing didn't work either. UI is pretty poorly designed and I found it difficult to edit categories and make sub-categories. I felt like I really wasted my money on it.
3. iBank seems to be a full-service, heavy-duty programs capable of handling investments and mortgage accounts. Too much for my needs and too rich for my pocket - it costs SGD75 for the Mac version, SGD19 for the iPad version and yet another SGD6 for the iPhone version...and these are all after a 20% discount during the holiday season. I haven't gotten it cos of the high cost (unnecessary for my needs, I think), but you may find that it's what you're looking for.
Good luck and hope this helps.

  • Financial software for personal use?

I just bought my blackberry bold yesterday and I'm not sure which financial software to use.
Has anyone used Ascendo or any of the other money management programs? Which ones do you prefer?
I'm looking for something that's more for personal use than business expenses etc.

You mean Quicken '07, I assume? There is no Mac version of Quicken '08. I use both Quicken '07 and MoneyDance. The latter is still rough around the edges, but I support it since I'd like to see some real competition in the field given Intuit's legendary second-class treatment of Mac users and the Mac platform (charging more for less features and almost never fixing bugs).
Plus I think it's slimy to intentionally BREAK online features after a version is three years old like Quicken does. I fully understand desupporting an old version, but intentionally disabling functionality (in the consumer software world) is just crummy on another level. I've also used the beta of the replacement for Quicken '07, and it's pretty lousy so far.

  • HT3819 I am a teacher. I have an iPhone and iPad for personal use.  I also have an iPod and now an iPad for school use.  Would it be best for me to use home sharing on all 4 devices, or should I split my account and have separate accounts for home & schoo

My first i device was an iPod touch that I was given for use in my classroom.  Then I got an iPhone for personal use.  Both items are listed under the same username and account.  Since then I now have 2 iPads, one for home and one for work.  I have many apps that are only for work like Math Zombie and Science Facts, and many that are for personal use, like Facebook and YouVersion.  I know that I can synch each device and tell iTunes which apps go on which device.  However at home I use a Mac, and my school computer is a PC.  I am wondering if I should split my account and keep personal separate from work.  Then I can synch all school related devices on the PC and home devices on the Mac.  I realize that there maybe the rare occaision that I might want one app for both accounts.  That's the chance I take on splitting my account.  Are there ay benefits one way or the other?

Will you be the person paying for apps on both accounts?
Are you the only person that will use both of the iPads?
Is there a chance students will be using the work iPad and if so, do you want personal data stored on it?
If you're the only one using it I'd keep the same account just to have the flexibility of having access to everything on all devices. If your students will be using it or if the school is paying for the school apps I'd keep separate accounts. It all depends on how often you will use school apps from home, and home apps at school. Just some things to consider...

  • Lync For Personal Use

I just purchases MS Office Professional 2013 and it came with Lync software. I'm familiar with the Lync program, but don't know how to create a Lync account for personal use using yahoo email account. Can you advise at your earliest opportunity?
I did create Windows Messenger account.....are these compatible?

    Hi mikecostello01,
Lync is different from Skype, it’s not a free product.
Lync Online is a business user-oriented solution, you need to purchase it before you can use it.

Just create a new AppleID for your work.
As Allan suggested, items purchased on one iTunes account cannot be moved to the other account.
However, you can put items purchased on on account onto the other iPhone.

With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned.

  • Which Oracle Version or Product to download and install for Personal Use

    Hi everyone,
I hope all of you is well.
I would like to work on SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle software for a personal training at home. I would like to practice and improve my coding on Oracle. Regarding this, which FREE latest version of Oracle should I download into my computer?
I really appreciate your help from now on.
    Many thanks

    Welcome to the forum.
As long it is for personal use only, you can basically download whatever it is you need.
    See:
    "Developers:
*All software downloads are free, and most come with a Developer License that allows you to use full versions of the products at no charge while developing and prototyping your applications, or for strictly self-educational purposes.* (Unless otherwise specified, our technical support organization will not provide technical support, phone support, or updates to you for the programs licensed under this agreement.) You can buy products with full-use licenses at any time from the online Store or from your sales representative."

  • Oracle for personal use

    Hi
I like to have a copy of oralce for personal use to run on Win XP with 128 RAM
Could anyone help me where I can obtain a copy?
    Thanks in advance

First of all, you won't be able to RUN anything on XP with only 128MB RAM. It's more like WALKing. Do yourself a favour and splurge for 1GB RAM (or at least 512MB).
Secondly, here's the link to the OTN site for Oracle 10g Express Edition ...

The product is "free to a good home".

  • Photoshop SN for personal use not for selling

    -  Could I use a serial number to use photoshop?!! is it legal for learning, working in my job ( as you see for personal use)... and I'll  not sell it because I know that is illegal?!!!!!
    - And what if I don't know the serial number source, from adobe community or online serial numbers?!!!

Each legitimate Photoshop must be activated by Adobe when installed, so the Adobe mother ship will be checking.
It sounds like you're contemplating buying a hacked, pirated version or a cracked number.  That is totally illegal, a prosecutable crime, even for your "personal use". It's software theft, pure and simple.

  • Is it legal to 'stream'  from iTunes radio stations for personal use?

I have tried to search references to this issue on this forum. Apologies if I have missed them.
Is it legal for me to stream songs from iTunes radio stations ( using for example Streamripper) and to subsequently transfer them to my iPod for personal use?
Am I infringing copyright if I do or have the radio stations already paid copyright?
I am sorry to have to ask this very basic question but I can't get clear guidance elsewhere and it bothers me.
    Thank you.

    dlowe,
I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice, but I would use the analogy of video taping your favorite show on TV to watch later (or using a DVR). This, I believe is considered "fair use" of the product via what is called "time-shifting." This was the conclusion from the U.S. Supreme Court in the Betamax decision.
As long as you don't offer the show for sale, I think you're okay.

  • Macromedia Studio 8 for Personal Use

How do I find out if I can continue to use Dreamweaver 8 (and Studio 8 suite) for personal use?
I was given authorization to use Studio 8 on a home computer as part of the Macromedia licensing which allowed home use if the software was licensed for work.  I still have the work license but almost never use it at work anymore except on rare occasion.
Am I allowed to continue to use it at home?  I don't think Adobe has the same policy as Macromedia did for home use of software purchased for work, but I'm not sure.
I appreciate any guidance on how I might be able to get the definitive answer so I can continue using it as in the past if appropriate.
For the time being, all I want to do is use it for editing a template for my site.
I'm not ready to purchase a personal license of the latest version of Dreamweaver.

If it's a licensed copy of Studio 8, you can use it - work or home doesn't matter. But if you want to be absolutely sure, contact Adobe and ask them.  We are not Adobe here - just other users.
