Does anyone know the best forums to get support on Entourage? I've lost all mail & projects, but calendar, tasks, contacts are fine. Really strange. Appreciate your help, as always!

Best browser for HTML5 support on Android

Can anyone recommend a browser that actually works with Captivate HTML5 output on android devices? I get a variety of problems across Firefox, Chrome, Dolphin, and Ninesky. The main problem I get is no sound, but on some of them I get sound but the nav buttons don't work. I am using very simple slde sounds - one per slide. Also, does anyone know if there is an Android version of Safari?

Props to the Apple forums for excellent support

Most people are quick to lodge complaints, but I wanted to take a moment to complement the community and the way that they help their users.
I received a new iMac 24" for Christmas this year and it was the first Mac that I've ever tried to use. (I'm an ex-windows user) I needed help with the simplest things, like "How do I install a program without a setup.exe file, and more involved stuff like my apple care warranty not registering properly, and importing my contacts lists from MS Outlook for Win XP to Address Book on OS X.
To date, I haven't posted anything on your forums that wasn't resolved within a day (usually less) of my request. The wealth of experience and the dedication to the platform of the user community is refreshing for someone who's used to sitting on hold for a Microsoft Tech for 2 hours.
So, I just wanted to say *Thank you* for making my transition to Mac a painless experience so far. I have much to learn yet, but there appears to be no shortage of people capable and willing to help me with my questions.

Can anyone point me to a support/discussion forum for Entourage? I know it's not here. But perhaps someone here knows where the Entourage user community "hangs out".

I've found some help by googling the issue or error msg and got great results. mostly, they come from either google or yahoo groups, but the M$ newsgroups are probably going to help some too.
just thought i'd throw that out, as googling the error msg or issue has often yielded more quality results than any other single forum when not dealing specifically with apple products/apps...

Best forum on SDN for WM functionality?

Good day,
I am wondering what forum is best for me, MM logistics is pretty close to my area of knowledge but to much finacial posting questions I was hoping I could get your thoughts.
Me: SAP support 3 yrs now in warehouse dealing with ALL warehouse activity - movements reciepts order processing and so on
Trouble is there seems to be no home for me on SDN, end user forums are not at all interesting to me and I see to many question in MM logistics not related to things I have learned.
So yes I am not a developer, sort of stuck in between right now, not able to move forward until I get access in a proto typing client and getting much resistance for access (boss is afraid I will move to another company if I do dev.)
So the question is simply what's the best forum for WM activity?

Best board for New Core 2 Duo SYS ?

Hello I have built system for many years but have never used a MSI board but Your new Boards look very Good I am on a limited budget now . Then I suggest the P965-Platinum, if you want an MSI board... Unless you wanna go with the PowerUP X975 board ...
It can reach at least 360MHz stable, which is more than the Neo board, but it's a lot cheaper than the PowerUP ed. board ...
Also, that will earn you an OC of 800 MHz with the E6400, which is a lot better than nothing
BUT, remember that the board is far from the best, and that E6400 will at 360MHz FSB NOT have reached it's max. potential

Any User Forums for Postbox??

hi all.
i realize this may not be a perfect place to ask this but i have been searching the web for an answer to this question.
i moved to postbox shortly after porting to mac from windows about a year and a half ago and while i have been happy with the software for the most part it seems like they were working out some bugs after releasing it slightly prematurely. then i wasn't able to find the forums for some reason and now i think i may have gotten cut off from support (or this has been discontinued in some way?) due to the fact that I (admittedly) ask a lot of questions.
does anyone know what is up with this in terms of support options?
is everyone one on a mac using Mail or Postbox?
i am about to purchase FileMaker to try and organize things a little tighter over here and if there is a good way to knit together even more functionality with my mail by buying something to do this I would like to. right now the issue seems to be to see if there is a convenient way to see and search attachments (and the emails at the same time0 without doing a whole lot of saving out of my mail handling program (i get a lot of resumes with attached portfolios and i'd like to avoid having to d/l all the emails and the attachments and then name them and sort them etc in order to review them).

I don't see any forums for Postbox support, just a series of FAQs and knowlege base articles. It's possible you can post a question or an issue if you have an account (by buying the program) and get an answer, but I don't use it so I can't test that theory.

What are you hoping Filemaker would do for your email? I would think that you'd have to find a way to get those resumes and portfolios into Filemaker, so I'm assuming you'd have to export them out of your email program anyway. But I'm not an expert in that, so it's entirely possible that I'm mistaken.

Best approach for Time Machine / Entourage / FileVault / sparse bundle disk

I am looking to set up Time Machine belatedly on my G5 to provide hassle-free backup for me and my family. I use Entourage. I also want to provide a small amount of encrypted storage. I’ve scoured the obvious places which have plenty of ideas, but nothing which pulls it all together.
My thoughts so far have been:
1. Time Machine doesn’t work well with Entourage as Entourage uses a monolithic single file (which in my case is several GB big) – backing this up every hour will bring my machine to its knees, fill up the backup disk and will possibly give a corrupt backup as the file could be accessed by Entourage or the MS daemon process during the backup.
2. I thought of turning FileVault on which would automatically contain the Entourage file. This would mean:
a) the sparse bundle format (8 MB bands) of FileVault would limit the volume of changed Entourage data which would be backed up each time by Time Machine and
b) the backup would only occur during logout (which is fine with me) when Entourage and the MS daemon are not running so that the backup won’t be corrupt.
3. However I am not hearing good things about the reliability of FileVault (comments?) and don’t want all the data in my Home folders lost – I don’t need that much encryption anyway.
4. So I thought about setting up a couple of encrypted disk images made of sparse bundles – one for the Entourage data (symbolically linked to the right place for Entourage to pick the folder up) and the other for the other small number of files I need encrypted. This could be auto-mounted at login.
5. However I think that using disk images rather than FileVault loses the automatic backup by Time Machine at logout. Maybe there is a way to get Time Machine to automatically backup these disk images during logout.
6. Perhaps there is another way to get the disk images backed up at logout other than using Time Machine.
So my questions are:
A. What is the best overall approach to providing a low-maintenance reliable backup which deals appropriately with Entourage and provides a small amount of encrypted space?
B. Can Time Machine be made to backup disk images other than FileVault disk images at logout? (for example is there a particular location / filename format for FileVault images which I could emulate with the other disk images to fool Time Machine into backing them up?)
C. When Time Machine runs at logout, have MS Entourage and the daemon process already been shut down and the disks unmounted, to prevent corruption?
D. Is there another way of backing up the sparse image disks at logout?
C. Is this all going to get magically fixed in Snow Leopard?
D. Will MS come up with a sensible storage format for Entourage?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I don't know if there is a complete solution, but here are some things you could consider.
1. TM does not run automatically at logout unless FileVault is enabled.
2. You can change the backup period using third-party utilities like TimeMachineEditor - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
3. You can exclude the Microsoft User Data folder from the TM backup and back it up separately using third-party backup software.
4. You can use third-party backup software instead of TM, such as:
1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
5. Carbon Copy Cloner (Donationware)
6. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
7. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
8. Data Backup (Commercial)
9. SilverKeeper 2.0 (Freeware)
10. Tri-Backup (Commercial)
11. Apple Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility.
