Best gaming laptop out there?

Hi, is anyone aware of the best gaming laptop that I can find at the moment? The price is not really an issue at this point, I just want to see what is out there. Thanks!

Forget HP. They all have inadequate fan and heat sink designs for heavy gaming.

This has three fans, two of which are dedicated to the CPU and GPU, one for each. The laptop is designed specifically for gaming.
This laptop's specs. blows any thing that HP has out of the water.

  • Daryl J - Best Gaming Laptops?

    Hi,
This is Daryl J {removed per forum guidelines}, I am very much interested in games. That;s why I am looking for the best gaming laptops. If anyone have any idea regarding it then please suggest me as soon as possible...
    Thanks

    Hey Daryl,
Before I make any recommendations, I have a couple questions for you. Do you have a price range in mind? Do you already have a preferred Brand? I can tell you that Alienware and Asus are among the best brands for gaming laptops. Other than being good for gaming, do you know any other features that are very important to you? Will you travel out of the house with this laptop? What type of games do you want to play?
Proving these details about your preferences and lifestyle will help me make a better recommendation for you!

Hi, likely somethiung else, but Free Sophos...
    http://www.sophos.com/products/enterprise/endpoint/security-and-control/mac/
Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

  • The Best pdf reader out there

    Hi Guys,
There are many free pdf readers out there in the market...adobe reader being the dominant one...still, many people just do not use adobe reader because of the blot...it is slow...is heavy...download size is big and then there are too many update pop ups....
so, which pdf reader would you choose? (I have been using foxit reader..and find it very good...stable...and fast..)

It all depends on your individual usage.
If you want to view/print simple PDF files, Foxit would probably be fine (spyware aside).
If you want to view and interact with more advanced PDF's (3D, commenting...etc), then Adobe Reader would be a better choice.
Basically, there is no overall better reader that would fit all situations.

  • What is the BEST gaming laptop for under $3,000.00

I am looking around and comparing gaming PCs and laptops.  I am strongly leaning toward a laptop because I already have a fairly nice PC, but it really isn't built for gaming.  Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.  I like:

  • Best ZIF upgrade out there?

I'm looking to upgrade an old Blue and White (i'm not sure which rev. - if anyone could help me determine this, i would appreciate it) from the stock 300MHz ZIF to a G4 or fast G3. I'm looking for comments on which processors work with fewest/no problems running os 9.2/10.3/10.4 and which may be the best value.
    Thanks to all who respond

Since, from your signature-thing there you are in possession of a Macbook Pro, I'm not going to bother you with telling you to buy a used G4 instead. Your Macbook Pro would be able to outperform it anyway.
So, I take it you are wanting to upgrade your G3 for a 'hobby' sort of reason. If you aren't intending to try to run Leopard on there, the 1.0GHz G3 (750GX) that OtherWorldComputing sells for the moment might be the best bet. It has dropped quite a bit in price since I bought one some time ago. Mind you, I believe you are stuck at 10.4.9 as Powerlogix hasn't released an updated version of their CPU Director software in some time. This software is needed to set CPU frequency to its proper setting. You don't need it but you would be stuck at startup default of 800MHz, as far as I know.
I haven't much experience with G4s, though. I went straight from my ole B&W G3 to my current Macbook. You actually have a good selection. Sonnet makes several speed G4 upgrades for the B&W. They have a nice purple heatsink too. I dont' know about their reliability or anything but Sonnect products are usually of... higher quality.

  • What's the best BT mouse out there for my powerbook?

HI. I need a bluetooth mouse for my wife to use in photoshop. She is using a 17 inch powerbook. The mighty mouse gets bad reviews, so I'm not interested in it and she's not really interested in a tablet/mouse combo. If anyone has some suggestions, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance-
    Boris

i've used the kensington "pilotmouse mini bluetooth" for almost a year, this is with a 17" powerbook
    no problems at all
the power consumption means running it on rechargeables, unless you want to spend a lot on batteries, but i think all bt mice have this issue
unlike some bt mice, it does have a proper on/off switch, which saves battery life

  • What is the best internet router out there

i am looking into get a new wireless internet router for my home, i want one that will have a strong signal and that can go a fair distance. any sugestions?

You want to have other suggestions besides Airport Extreme? Well, depends how much money you want to put, Cisco E4200V2 has been quite good and surprisingly good range.
If you want to put even more money into wireless, you can get very high quality and powerful Access Points from Ruckus, but honestly pretty much all higher end corporate access points are as powerful.

  • Best new beginner book out there?

What's the best beginner book out there in your collective opinions? Thanks.
    Let me obviously clarify.....for "Oracle".

As example, if you need to learn basic SQL then there is the Apess book on Oracle SQL
by the late Lex de Haan which was pretty good. I do not know if it is still in print. An excellent recommendation as a tutorial to Oracle SQL and SQL*Plus, and it is still in print. An introductory tutorial and good typing practice at that, but not a reference as one review complains. For that I would print PDFs of the fine manuals.
Beginning Oracle Programming is a sort of Concepts Guide for dummies, and this is no small achievement. Adds to the readability and the when and why to use features that is often lacking in the documentation.
Ultimately you want to know how to navigate the SQL Reference it will save you and the database a lot of effort in the long run.

Wow, looks like you guys get some nice extras over in Asia.  I bought mine here in the USA, and the only "extra" I got was the laptop sleeve case.
    As for your questions.....
Turbo boost from Intel is sorta set to automatic.  It will boost based on the program you are running on the system.  As for Cooler Boost 2.0....I don't remember seeing that on my GS70.
Killer Wireless is always on.  On average, I get downloads of 4.6-5 MB a second on Steam.  So you don't need to do anything special to get it working.
    As for your HDD selection....
I have the 256 GB SSD/16 GB RAM edition, so I keep my SSD clean except for system related programs.  The only programs I have installed on the SSD are things like Office 2013 Professional Plus, and smaller programs like the Starcraft Anthology USB.  You'll want to install everything on your Data drive, since this was made to store all of your games, music, videos, etc.

    Try a direct download:
iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download
Manually install it by holding your "Option" key down when clicking on the "Restore" button in iTunes and select the firmware file you downloaded.

  • Best car kit/FM transmitter out there

I've finally gotten myself a 8GB Ipod nano. I travel in my car a lot and would like to play my music library in the car. What is the best car kit/FM transmitter on the market for a reasonable price??? I've seen some go for over $100, but I don't want to have to pay this much. I would have to go through the lighter as I don't have an aux. plug-in to my stereo. Thanks.

I think you shouldn't buy a Griffin transmitter made especially for iPod. Rather go to your nearest electronic store and buy something that sends music via your headphone plug-in. The price can go under 20 bucks!
There might me some people out there who disagree with me, but this is just my opinion.
