Best Insightful PSE8 Tutorial?

What is your recommendation for a one stop global tutorial for PSE8 ?
Sure there are numerous video tutorials around, but none that I have found systematically take you through each of the tools and features explaining the use of each of the optional settings and how changing optional settings might affect the finished product.
From what I can see the Adobe Help Files are totally inadequate, since they provide a skimmed overview of each feature and tool with little or no insight into how changing settings can affect the end result.
I a looking for a book or an online source that covers the entire program, providing insights into each of the tools and features, examples of how these tools and features can be used and perhaps even exercises I can practice specific assignments.
Does such a tutorial exist?

Is there any feedback in connection with:  Photoshop Elements 8 Digital Classroom?
I looked at the Amazon listing for Barbara's book, and although there is a sampling of the index and a few introductory pages, it's difficult to know to what extent the author describes the practical uses of optional settings for tools and features.
My hope is to find a tutorial resource that after reading I can have a comprehensive understanding of all features and the variations with which they can be applied.
I've been doing photo editing for nearly two decades, but have never had the opportunity to learn all the intricacies of every available tool in Photoshop, and would like to do that at this time.
Additionally I have had extensive darkroom experience in commercial photography, so I have a good understanding of the goals I want to reach with a given image, I just don't know how to do it using the available tools with all their possible potential.
BTW: This would be for my own personal use, and not for commercial use.
