Best install from scratch of FDS and CF?

We have a new server on which we will install CF 7.0.2
enterprise and FDS 2. We normally install CF in the server
configuration (no JRun). FDS being a J2EE app we will have to
install JRun. What is the best install method to take the most
advantage of FDS and CF? Should we do CF with JRun or CF server
configuration and FDS with JRun? What about order of
install?

There are a few options that work. Really the only trick is
that both servers need to be running on the same network sub-net.
They know how to find each other.
Personally I like to install the CF multi-server w/Jrun
option (the 2nd radio button in the installer). Then I can create
different instances for each project. once I have CF installed this
way I just deploy the flex war into the same instance so they are
running in the same server side-by-side.
When I do this the folder structure looks something like this
\jrun4\server\cfusion\
\cfusion-ear\
\flex\

    Third install from scratch: erase through disk utility, install OS X Mavericks (using Recover mode), restart ok - But no disk available in Finder
    So far no Mac since 3 days ...
    Any help is welcome

    Still struggling to understand why copying the entire root dir to a disk image and then restoring from that image did not, as expected, yield an identical system, and why I even had to reinstall after doing this.
    Because there is a lot more going on under the hood than merely copying files.
    The only way to do what you want is to use cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner.
    My  advice is to rescue your personal files to a regular non-TimeMachine  external drive, Zero erase the ENTIRE drive and install OS X fresh and  update, then your programs from original sources and files from backup.
    Then, make a bootable clone and you can copy that as many times as you want and each one is bootable.

  • MBP Still running slow after install from scratch

    I have a 13-inch, Early 2011 macbook pro. 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5.  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. It was running very slowly for a few months. Did a disk verify and found the hard drive was corrupt. I did a completely fresh install from scratch and upgraded to 10.9.1. (still running 10.9.1). I did not bring over any of the files or apps from the old system. Wanted to start from scratch.
    The problem: It is still slow as heck. I mean, I will click on a folder, it will beach ball for a 3 seconds, then open the folder (for example). It is almost unusable. I just used the disk utility again and checked the hard drive and permissions and no issues were found. Anything else I can try or should I sell and buy something new? I really need to be productive on this machine and this is killing it... Help!

    Your machine should be fine once it's fixed. This isn't a processor problem. Either the hard drive is bad as a brody suggested, or the SATA cable that connects it to the motherboard is bad. A way to test this is to move the hard drive to an external enclosure and boot it from there. If it runs better, it's the SATA cable.

  • W540 Windows 8.1 install from scratch (ssd)

    Hi, Lenovo user's
    I need your help. My new W540 need to be rebuild (win 8.1) from scratch and manual driver,s install. Ok it's rediculus, but my manager at work need that test. I buy the original 2 dvd's ( #1 recovery disk media and #2 operating system recovery disk).  The Uefi bios option are new for me.  I want to remove un-needed partition to ! Have you some procedure to do that ??
    I can't find on my laptop the windows 8.1 serial plate, it's normal ??? No it's not under the battery.;-)))
    Sorry for very bad english.... French from Canada :-)
    Special thk and Merry XMas.
    First T22,Next T43,T60P, W700 and S10-3, now W540 (SSD, 16RAM, i7 4800, Etc :-)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The product key is now embedded in your BIOS, and Windows will automatically activate by reading that when you install.
    If you are using Lenovo recovery disks, they will overwrite all partitions and create the correct ones. You just need to put disk #1 into the drive and boot from it.

  • Windows7: Repair Installation (not re-install from scratch)

    Hi,
    I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad W701 pre-installed with Windows7 prof. (64-bit). This machine has been great to me until recently.
    Now I need to repair that installation and wonder if I can use the original DVDs that shipped with the TP-W701 or what is the best way to do this?
    - A System Restore did not help fix my Windows7 problems
    - I DO NOT want to do a clean reinstall of Windows 7 and all progrmas etc.
    - I want to preserve exisiting user accounts, data, programs, and system drivers.
    As I've got 2 more Machines running Windows7 professional can I (or should I use) one of those Windows7 DVDs.
    Advice is appreciated, thanks.
    Dig-IT-all

    Thanks Jonathan,
    I assumed that a true "Repair Install" is not available from the Factory Restore disk.
    How about using a regular Windows7 professional DVD ?
    I guess there will be some license issues, but that could be resolved as I've got the official licenses (one for the Thinkpad and another for the 'repair install').
    The issues I am experiencing are related to the network:
    'Net view' shows the machines on the network, but 'net use' throws 'system error 53'.
    Running Diagnositcs on the current Local area Connection Status, reveals that the 'Diagnostic Service is not running' even if started as 'administrator'. In services it is set correctly to automatic, but still it does not start to run the diagnostics. A restart of this service fails. Settings are correct.
    I can't find any error message in any of the Windows logfiles.
    I can easily use 'net use' from the other machines and map drives on the Thinkpad.
    So I figured I've got a networking issue and would like to reinstall ALL the networking stuff.
    The rest of the machine is fine and I really do NOT want a factory restore. This would mean at least 2 days of work or even more.
    Would it be meaningful to reinstall the WMI as described in this thread (?):
    How to REPAIR (no complete rebuilt system) Windows WMI without having a Windows CD?
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T61-and-prior-T-series-ThinkPad/How-to-REPAIR-no-complete-rebuilt-system...
    Is there a way to re-install the Networking only?
    I am certain there is a solution, I just did't find the one needed.
    Thanks, Hans.

  • 10.5 lost master discs - how to install from scratch

    I've mislaid my master discs but need to repartition the hard drive in order to install Bootcamp and Windows.  If I re-format the hardrive I'll have no master System to update.  Is it possible to download initial installation for OSX10.5 ?

    You can user SuperDuper to "clone" your hard drive to an external firewire or USB drive. Then you can boot from the external "clone," and then you can erase and reformat the internal drive. Before doing that, it would be good to check that the clone works properly. Then after reformating, you can clone from the external drive back to the freshly formatted internal drive volume where you want OS X to reside. Then boot from that internal drive volume and verify that everything is working.
    1 = internal drive
    2 = external drive
    Clone from 1 to 2.
    Boot from 2. Check that 2 works just like 1 did.
    Erase and reformat and repartition 1.
    Clone back from 2 to 1 (choosing the volume and partition that you want OS X on).
    Boot from 1, checking that all files and programs are as they were originally.

  • Create a report from scratch, add Table and Datasource Problem

    Hi,
    I'm using the latest Crystal Reports Runtime supplied for eclipse.
    I want to create a report from scratch, add a Table and then add a ArrayList of Pojos as the Datasource.
    But unfortunately depending on the ConnectionInfo I supply to the Table I get different errors.
    I looked through the samples and see that I have to supply properties
    like
      "Database DLL", "crdb_javabeans.dll" and ConnectionInfo.setUserName("");
         ConnectionInfo.setPassword(null)
    I looked through the forums and find different set of properties.
    Actually because I am just working with Pojos I would have thougth that something like the following
    would be sufficient:
    ReportClientDocument  doc = new ReportClientDocument();
                doc.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
                doc.newDocument();
    Table table = new Table();
    table.setAlias("reportTable");
    table.setName("reportTable");
    doc.getDatabaseController().addTable(oTable, null);
    doc.getDatabaseController().setDataSource(myCoolection, myClass, "reportTable", "reportTable");
    So could someone tell me the right/minimum Set of  Properties to make a Table get connected to Pojos?

    With XI Release 2, you can come quite close to creating from scratch:

    You need Service Pack 2:

  • Weird one with my fx 5200 after deleting old drivers and installing from scratch.

    Ok, now I got a weird question, but seems to be a problem. I have a MSI Geforce FX 5200 as seen here and I was having a few problems with my drivers, and I figured it was my video card since it would mostly happen in games with 3D acceleration. So, I used Driver Cleaner and got rid of every nVidia driver on my computer. Rebooted, and installed the latest of the MSI website (45.33) and now, when I look in my settings, I have an option for DOT?!?!?! as seen here
    My question is, did I install the wrong drivers or did DOT become part of the 5200? (it's the one with only monitor out and s video out, no DVI or anything special, heatsinks and not fans)
    Thanks for the info in advance.

    That one is the one I have. And my board isn't supposed to have DOT on it, it's not in the Bios setup.

  • Clean install from DVD failing again and again.

    I tried clean installing Lion:
    I partitioned my hard disk and burned a DVD with the installer.
    When booting from that DVD, it just tells me that setup failed and I should try installing again.
    At that point, the only option is to reboot from DVD again, ending up with the same error, or using the tools delivered on the tool except for installing.

  • I had to get a new apple ID for my Iphone and delte the old account,but now i can not update the apps I had installed from my old Iphone and could I transfer the music albums I bought to this new apple account as well ?

    could you please get back to me as soon as possible , there is an update I have been anticipating for a about two months now and it  is coming very soon.

    This is a user to user forum; there is no one from Apple here to get back to you. Apps and music are forever associated with the Apple ID  account they were purchased with. There is no way to transfer them to a different account. That is why Apple lets you change the email address associated with your account without having to get a new account. If you didn't do this, but instead got a completely new account, you are out of luck. You can still go back to the old account and just get a new email address for it.

  • GRUB2 install from a chroot environment and a loop device

    I created a 10 GB raw .img, formatted it as EXT4 and "rsync'd" my system inside. The plan is to reinstall GRUB2 to its MBR and convert it to .vdi (VirtualBox). I know how to do all that, it's not as difficult as it sounds.
    sudo modprobe loop
    sudo losetup /dev/loop5 /media/Backup/backup.img
    sudo mount -o offset=$((2048 * 512)) /dev/loop5 /mnt
    cd /mnt
    for i in /proc /sys /dev; do sudo mount -B $i .$i; done
    sudo chroot .
    sudo grub-install /dev/loop5
    sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
    (Interesting way to chroot, right?)
    ...except after converting the .img to .vdi (VBoxManage convertfromraw --format VDI /path/to/backup.img /path/to/backup.vdi), I'm getting:
    GRUB loading.
    Welcome to GRUB!
    error: no such device: 557e19c8-e89b-4661-a1dc-2a3ce3b2064e
    Entering rescue mode...
    grub rescue> _
    However, reinstalling it by hooking up a LiveCD to the VM works:
    mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
    cd /mnt
    for i in /proc /sys /dev; do mount -B $i .$i; done
    chroot .
    grub-install /dev/sda
    grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
    It seems to like /dev/sda more than /dev/loop5.
    Why is that?
    I should mention that the VM's UUID for /dev/sda is the same as /dev/loop5 on the computer.

    *bump* I know this thread is older then old, but I have exactly the same problem. It seems that there used to be a workaround (http://superuser.com/questions/130955/h … n-img-file) which has no effect anymore.
    The reason I need to do it with loop is, that I'm writing a script for automated virtual-disk creation. So booting a live system is not an option.
    Help anybody?
