Flock is defintily the most innovative browser I have ever seen. I saw it on http://screencastsonline.com/sco/Shows/shows.html
show SCO0057 -
Flock Web 2.0 Browser
11 July 2006
seeing the video demo from screencasts online is very impressive
Here is a quote from screencastsonline
I'm really excited about this application as it provides amazing functionality as standard.
It's Flock Beta 1 which I had a chance to play with over the weekend. I was so impressed I just had to do a screencast to spread the "Flock goodness" around.
Flock is an astounding browser built on FireFox and features integration with...
* Delicious & Shadows - for social bookmarking
* Flickr & Photobucket - for photo sharing
* Blogging - Has a built in blogging tool for virtually any blog tool
* RSS Reader - Fully featured RSS reader
It's available for Mac OSX, Windows and Linux and is a must try application.

  • What is the best internet brower for Macbook Pro?

I got my macbook pro a couple month ago, since day 1, i have had the following problems:
I can't get in some websites I want, or it takes "forever" to get in.
the page gets "freeze" often, and I have to turn it off to fix it.
I get the "rainbow wheel" a lot when I m browing on the internet or even on iphoto, or photo booth
when I turn on my comptuer, it takes so relatively long to start...
I was wondering if this is internet problem?? or the macbook itself s problem??
I download opera brower, it works a lot better than safari, but still I got frustrated for the above problem!!!
please help, I m having a nice notebook, but it seems useless most of the time.
    thanks!

You should have no problems using Safari browser. Naturally it all depends upon your internet connection and you ISP's service.

Can someone please tell mewhich is the best antivirus program for macbook pro?

    Hi..
Both Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac and ClamXav are recomended and both are free.
Actually, malware is more of a threat on a Mac than a virus.

  • What is the FASTEST Internet Browser for OSX? (2014 Edition)

What is the FASTEST Internet Browser for OSX? (2014 Edition)
I'm a tech junkie, I love everything about technology.. especially FAST and EFFICIENT technology..
I am currently using Google Chrome, and have nothing bad so say about it.. I like that I can "sign in" to Google Chrome pretty much anywhere (including my iPhone 5s), and instantly have access to all of my Bookmarks and Bookmark folders..
I have seen a bunch of benchmark tests testing a bunch of available internet browsers on OSX.. however, the results seem a bit inconclusive and varying, and some that even support the notion that Safari is now FASTER than Google Chrome.. I'm not sure whether or not to believe it, and I don't really have the time/energy to conduct a series of tests on my own..
What do you guys think? Is Google Chrome still considered the "fastest" when it comes to browsing/downloading?

Has anyone used or have any opinions about Lightning?  I found some positive reviews around, and granted they all mention it's unrefined, they all seem to think it is the fastest.  Great as that may be, before I fork out the $2 I would like to get some more info regarding privacy and security.

  • What is the best web browser for iPad 2

What is the best web browser for iPad 2?

I have Mercury, Atomic, Dolphin and iCab. They all offer features that Safari does not have. If you liked the former mini windows view that Safari had in iOS 4, I think iCab would be a great choice. It offers something similar to that as well as tabbed browsing, DropBox support, it can identify as other browsers (I can't remember what that feature is called) and IMO - it blows Safari out of the water.
All of these browsers have more to offer than Safari, but I like iCab the best.

  • Extremely slow download speeds and internet browsing on Macbook pro

I recently got a 13"" macbook pro. System config - Maverick OS/i7 dual core/8GB RAM/750 GB HDD, Almost 690GB of free space available. I am expriencing extremely slow download and internet browsing speed. I have to wait for almost 10-12 seconds for normal sites to download. The app updates and downloads are painstakingly slow.
The internet speeds are working perfectly fine on my Windows Laptop, and even on my mobile phones. So, the there's no issue of network. Also, I have cleared safari cache etc, just to be sure. But nothing's really helping.
Can any one help me here.
    Thanks !

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Log out and log back in. Any change?
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Again, if only Safari is involved, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Safari, if it's checked. Any change?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Upgrade internet browser for Mac OS 9.1

Howdy. I just inherited an iMac G3 with an OS 9.1 operating system. I was wondering if A) there is a way to upgrade the operating system to something a little more modern, or B) you can suggest an internet browser to use. I'm using Internet Explorer 5 right now, which is of course very old and doesn't work well with many pages. I don't see a later version available for the OS 9.1 on the webpages of Internet Explorer, FireFox or Netscape. Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
I am safely driving an iMac 350 with Panther. It is running with 256 MB Ram which is enough to enjoy it but the more the better...
The best you can do is grab yourself an eBay Account, find some SDRam (100 or 133MHz) and a copy of 10.3. 10.3 is surely working and no longer sold by Apple and 10.4 is not suitable due to the 350 slot loader has no FireWire. It is a modern OS that works great. Get a full copy, no reinstall disc from eMac etc.
But there are some things to do before you upgrade to OSX.
First you have to bring your iMac from OS9.1 to OS 9.21 or OS 9.22 by installing this update: http://download.info.apple.com/AppleSupport_Area/Apple_SoftwareUpdates/ (browse for your the language of your installed OS).
Then install the new Firmware. This is very important. The Firmware updater is only running on OS9.2 and you have to update if it is not already on Version 4.1.9. Look into System Profiler in the Apple menu for that information. If you can catch a copy of OSX 10.2 (Jaguar) the Firmware updater is on the discs (not on later versions!). Or ask a friend if you know one having that 10.2 CDs for help.
The Firmware can also be downloaded from Apples download site.
If you don't update and install OSX your iMac can decease when restarting due to a bug in certain FW versions. I was on the lucky side, it was working without because noone told me to do it before installing. I did it afterwards and the IMac is still working.

  • What's the best internet browser that os 9.1 can run?

does anyone know what the best free internet browser is for os 9.1?
    thanks,
    ken

Hello kjp2007 & Welcome to Discussions,
Well, it pretty much depends on who you ask as to what the best browser is for OS 9.1
There are a few and you have to decide which one best suits your needs.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that Internet Explorer is a no no because, one, it's a memory hog and two Microsoft no longer provides support for it's Mac version.

  • Questions-Best Internet Browser(s), PC security

PC Model- Lenovo G530- Windows Vista Home Edition
    1. Which Internet Browser(s) are the best one according to security, speed, unwanted pop-ups, etc.
I usually use Firefox 3.5.5 because I have read and heard Firefox is safer and better than other browsers. But usually Firefox is also slower for some reason on my PC.  Is it just me or others have similar issue with using Firefox.
I have used Opera in the past as well, it is fast but I am not sure about its secuirty.  I think Firefox and Opera are better than I.E.
    2.  What should I get for my PC security.  I currently use Adavanced System Care. It has pulled lots of problems and fixed them, making my PC faster after each scan.  I find ASC only fixes the Bugs instead of stopping them from coming in the first place and piling up and only fixes them when I ran a scan.  I would like  some suggestions on anitvirus softwares, anti- spywares and antimalware, and as well which firewall.  I have Norton on my Dell Pentium 4 Desktop, it only picks very few problems and I believe it is useless compared Advanced System Care.
So any suggestions on secuirty softwares which are good and does not slow down the PC too much.
    3. My PC windows frequently displays incorrect time and had to change it time to time.  Now it has not for 1 week.  I wonder why?
    Any Suggestions are much appreciated

Yes, I read the figure 128 in regards to the benefit. Something about interleaving, maybe?
In doing a Google search for that article I saw, I found this:
    http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/apple-notebooks/99215-4gb-ram-my-macbook.html
the maximum amount of RAM your laptop can take is 3.3GB. So while you can physically insert 4GB of RAM, OS X will only be able to see 3.3GB of it.
But I don't know how knowledgeable that poster is who says it can utilize 3.3 GB. I do know that the full 4 GB shows up in the System Profiler on my MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz.
