Best iPhone transmitter for car

Anyone have any expiernece w/ a iPhone transmitter for your car? I have a old Monster one that I like for my iPod but it does not charge my iPhone so time for an upgrade. My buddy has a Belkin one but that *****.
Thanks in advance

I use a Harmon Kardon kit. Runs around 150 when I got it. Come with a nice pod control device and a LCD display to show what songs are playing on the iPod. This allow you to control your iPod and still look at the road.
It does both transmission and aux plugin. You can choose which one you want to use. I tried both and the aux plugin is much higher quality then a transmitted one.

  • What is the best FM transmitter for a car?

Hi, i want an FM transmitter for my iphone 4 so ic an listen to the songs through my car speakers. I would like one with a stand (must be strong though). Which is the best one to get? Im new to all this iphone life!

I don't know where you live, but if you live anywhere near a city of any size, you won't find any that work decently. There's simply too much interference, you will be disappointed. If you want to get something that works, get a direct connect kit from any aftermarket stereo shop, you'll be glad you did.

  • The best FM transmitter for iPod

I'm sure this has been asked before.
I'd like to know from all of you iPod users out there what car audio FM transmitter is the best for audio quality and clarity.
I purchased the DLO transmitter/charger combo. I took it back. Wasn't pleased with the sound quality it delivered into my car audio.
Since then I've done some further reading. So far it looks as though Kensington and NewerTechnology's roadtrip are the top ones for price, audio clarity, quality, and minimal hiss.
    Your thoughts?

Hello, and Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
In my experience as an iPod owner of both a 20gig 4th generation, and 30 gig 5th generation, I have never had a good experience with FM transmitters. They just do not have the clarity that I know my iPod and Stereo are capable of producing. However, there is I think an exception to that, which is the Griffin Technology's iTrip (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip30/). I have recommended this to a lot of people. If you are able to hardwire the iPod to your stereo, either through tape deck, etc., I believe that it would produce a lot better sound.
    Hope that this helps,
    Cory

  • Iphone setup for car

    Hi all;
I am looking at buying a new car cradle and sterio, just wanting to know which way is the best to go, I currently use my GPS but its just not loud enough for me to hear while im driving anymore, so im just wondering whats a good setup to go with, so I can get a mount that will charge my phone, it will screw into my roof console (lot of dirt roads sick of watching my phone bouncing on the floor) bluetooth to car sterio for music and phone calls, possibly external mic I can put next to me so people can hear me, and possibly a antenna extender.
I have been looking what to get but im just giving myself a headache looking, just wondering if there is anything someone knows off I can setup that will do anything.
    Cheers

OK, ask and thou shalt receive. This issue has been resolved to my satisfaction - must have come with the 3.1 update.
For anyone who has this same question and hasn't yet found this (I haven't seen any info on this feature in the text about 3.1) here's how it works:
With iPhone connected to dock connector AND paired with bluetooth, when playing music via the built in iPod, the music will be default play through bluetooth. But on the iPod 'Now Playing' screen, the bottom of the screen has a connection status listed where the volume control used to be. Tap the bluetooth icon at the bottom (not the one in upper right) and a popup will appear allowing you to select where you want the music to play - tap 'dock connecter' and there you go - music plays through whatever is connected to the dock connector, but you can still make and take calls through the bluetooth device.
(At least I made a call that way and used the voice control to do it - very slick. No one has called me yet, but I assume it will work the same way.)
This also works with at least some other audio apps. I used it with Slacker and it worked like a dream.
    Woo hoo!

  • IPhone dock for car

I am looking for a car dock for my iPhone and iPod Classic. I just want a good dock and thought that this board would know of some good suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated since when I look for a dock they just don't look too appealing to me.

Hi, do you want to be able to hold both the iPhone and iPod Classic at the same time? Not too sure if that is possible but I have this in my car; http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/brodit-passive-holder-with-tilt-swivel-511164-iphone- 4-p25228.htm. Designed for the iPhone 4 and I don't even have to take my case off when I put it in. Great thing about Brodit holders are you can get a clip specific to your car. Before buying the Brodit, I also looked at this; http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/muvit-car-holder-for-iphone-with-case-and-ipod-touch- p26160.htm. As it is adjustable for different models of iPod's and iPhones and comes with both a windscreen and vent attachments. Hope this helps.

  • The best iphone case for functionality

Okay, so I just got myself an i Phone 4S and now am looking for a case. After browsing the interwebs for a bit I have begun to notice the pattern of either bulky hard plastic cases designed to protect I'm guessing, or interesting silicone ones more marketed toward 'showing the personality of the user' as types of cases avalible. The thing is while I do want my fancy (i.e. expensive) new phone to be protected, I also want it to stay fairly slim and functional: I do not carry a purse and usually just stick my phone in my pocket: I also often go out dancing and with this upgrade to a fancier phone I now find myself sattled with a larger one. I'm looking for a case that protects but doesn't add too much extera bulk: any suggestions?

I thought these cases were known to cause heat problems in the Iphone....that is what an ATT rep told me some time ago...did Otterbox recently redesign their cases? I am always afraid that a belt clip will snap off in a busy place like an airport...
The AT&T rep is wrong - no problem with overheating. The only problem the Defender case had was an echo when using speakerphone. Otterbox "redesigned" it by removing a filter like material that covered the mic and speaker - no more echo.
I use the belt clip daily - it's secure, but I wouldn't play hockey wearing it. You can always put the phone in a pocket.

  • What is the best iPhone headset for working out?

The stock headphones suck because they constantly fall out of my ears. The in-ear headphones aren't out yet, and might not even work with iPhone. Does anyone have a good/not super expensive recommendation for a headset with inline mic which won't fall out of my ears?
    Thanks!

Don't know what super expensive means, but I workout with my Ultimate Ears earbud and am really happy with them - great sound, made for iphone, mic, etc.

  • Will The iPhone 4 is Best iPhone?

I ordered my iPhone and waiting for order! Today I was reading some iPad forum where someone point out an article on iPhone 4's future for Apple which you may read directly here:
    http://www.shaswatpatel.com/will-the-iphone-4-allow-apple-to-keep-the-top-spot-p art-1/
Now I am just asking to experts, iPhone 4 is promising lot's compare to iPhone 3GS and no doubt some features are enough for us to upgrade our phones but will iPhone 4 really beat all iPhone model as well as other competitor with launch HTC EVO 4G.
I personally thinks iPhone 4 will surly beat iPhone older generation phones but it's fact that HTC EVO 4G (Android Run) phone have some good features and they can really give some hard work to AT&T's iPhone 4! Although 4G features with HTC EVO which enable user to have WiMax connectivity will lure them from iPhone but we crazy iPhone lovers knows it's almost impossible task for any OS and phone to beat Apple OS and Apple iPhone 4.

There's pros and cons to ALL handsets, and at the end of the day it's what's right for you. I have the HD2 and think it's great, if it wasn't for the glitches and lack of apps I would stick with it. From what I hear the Evo is great, but we're not getting it in the UK.
The iphone 4 looks set to be by far the best iphone, and for all round completeness will probably be the best phone on the market. BUT you're always going to have the same old issues where you can't 'manipulate' the phone, you can only do what apple allow you to. For this reason a lot of people will always prefer Android or Windows phones, especially since the release of Windows 7. You hvae so much more flexibility, but you have to be a bit of a gadget nerd to get the best from them.
For a lot of the Joe public they just want a phone that does everything straight out of the box and for this the iphone is best.
We're yet to find out how annoying the iads are though, we could find that the iphone is the most annoying phone on the market and we'll all move to android

  • Is there a car charger and fm frequency transmitter for iPhone with IOS6?

is there a car charger and fm frequency transmitter for iPhone with IOS6?

Here is something interesting about car chargers and the iPhone 3G:
    From Macworld:
On to the power adapters. Here’s the story: We learned a while back that iPhone 3G doesn’t support charging “via FireWire.” The thing is, there are lots of devices out there that don’t actually have a FireWire port, but are technically FireWire chargers because they’re sending power on the dock-connector pins that were used for power by the FireWire interface. There are a lot of reasons for this, chief among them the fact that the FireWire spec allows as much a 18 volts, while USB is a 5-volt connection. Since cars provide 12 volts of power, many if not most car-chargers used the FireWire method to send power.
However, in the interests of space and simplicity (i.e., not having to engineer for two separate power paths), Apple has dropped support for FireWire charging with the iPhone 3G. This means that many accessories won’t charge an iPhone 3G. Borchers said that Apple gave accessory developers a strong hint that this was going to happen a while ago, but he said that some companies have continued to implement FireWire-based chargers despite the warning.
But there’s some hope in sight: Borchers told me that at least a couple of third parties will be releasing converters that will pass through the dock connection, but convert the power to a USB standard. That adapter may make many of those charging devices come back to life

  • UK - Best iphone car dock or FM transmitter?

    Hi there,
I have recently bought an iphone in the UK and was wondering if anyone in the UK has found a good dock/holder for the iphone that fits well in a car, maybe with an FM transmitter so that you can listen to music etc from your iphone through the cars speakers.
    Any thoughts???

cool, I will look at this one, I also heard that the Kensington Digital FM Transmitter is good, and its only £25 in amazon.co.uk anyone got it, or knows if it works well?
    Don't bother.
I got the Kensington one (I think it is the same one you are referring to) for my ipod. It worked better than my iTrip fm transmitter, and I like the fact that it charges at the same time as transmitting (something the iTrip didn't do).
Sadly, when I use the Kensington with my iPhone, I get the mobile interference. It isn't awful, but it is enough to get me looking around for a different one. There is a concerning silence from Apple when you speak to them about this - concerning because it looks like they know it is v difficult to avoid the mobile interference. Having said that, most people who have referred to the transmitter mentioned in an earlier post in this thread report good experiences. I'm tempted to give that a whirl.
    Workarounds I have read are:
    1. Put the phone into Airplane mode. No good, of course, if you want to retain the phone function.
    2. Wrap silver foil around the cable nearest to the iPhone. Sounds like the old advice to avoid radiation in the event of nuclear war, but I may give it a go! ;o)

  • What is the best FM transmitter/charger for my 6gen nano?

What is the best FM transmitter/charger for my 6th gen Nano?  I want to use it in my car.

A popular one is the Belkin Tunecast, but I've heard mixed reviews about that one. On the flipside, I've only heard good things about the iRock. See this post for a personal experience.
