Best laptop for working with after effects

I need a laptop for work with adobe after effects and some others. Anyway I need laptop wich will not cost more than 1400€ and which will have inside intel core i7, 4 GB of memory or more and Nividia graphic card. Somthing more pls dont say the apple is the best beacuse i dont like it very much.
Thanks.

4GB is a rather small amount of RAM for working with After Effects. If you can get a computer with more RAM, I recommend doing so.
For After Effects CS5, the graphics card (GPU) doesn't matter as much as RAM and CPUs, so focus on RAM and CPUs first.
In general, a laptop is not going to give you the same performance as a desktop computer of the same price. If you need a laptop, fine; but don't be surprised when performance isn't as good as you might like.

  • Work with after effects, mac mini i5 or i7 ?

Hi! I'm working with after effects and Cinema 4D, mac mini i5 is better than i7? I don't know if the video card has influence (HD Graphics 3000 de Intel vs adeon HD 6750M de AMD con 512 MB), but the CPU maybe is more important.
    Thanks!

As otehrs have said the i5 is probably all the speed you will need, but in the future the i7 may well deliver a bit if an edge. I see no reason not to go directly to 16GB, you could probably get by with 8GB but "get by" is the operative phrase. SSDs have been mentioned, but You should consider the 1.1TB Fusion drive. As a practical matter the overall performance will be VERY close to that of all SSD, but a lot more capacity at a much lower price than SSD.
Since you are a web developer, I will share my "site development" secret with you. I had a rather ancient Mac mini I was not using. It was old and slow, but could run Mavericks and Server. I have it setup in a closet, running headless (no monitor or keyboard) and controlled from my Mac mini workstation. It is a great place to test new sites without having to go live. I do occasionally catch a problem running on my remote site server that I missed testing on my development Mac mini. Since I already had the old Mac mini my total outlay for my test site turned out to be $30 for the Server app.

You haven't given us much to go on here.  What exactly are you doing and what exactly happens when you try?  Which specific version of each program are you using?  (Go to Help>About...)
On a side note, a simple, brief thread title is all that's needed.  Something like "After Effects Issue" would be fine.  You don't need the full question there.

  • Working with after effects in photoshop?

I want to edit some contents of the after effects of videos like clearning up skin or removing objects in photoshop from after effects  - how would this get done? both ar cs5 and both ar 64bit

If you want to work on the frames of a movie in Photoshop, you have a few options. One is to render and export a composition from After Effects as an image sequence, and work on the frames as individual images in Photoshop. Another approach is tor ender and export the composition as a QuickTime movie and then import tha into Photoshop; this requires Photoshop Extended.
These options are covered in a bit more detail in "Working with After Effects and Photoshop".

  • Best practices for working with large placed bitmap images?

    Hey all,
I need some advice on the best way to approach building these files. I've been working on some banners that are very large: 3 x 7 feet.
Each banner has a simple vector graphic treatment at the top and bottom (rectangle with a different colored rule on top, and vector logo) and a small amount of text, just a URL and a headline. The headline is type (not converted to outlines) and usually has some other effect applied to it, say a drop shadow or outer glow. Under these graphics is a full bleed image. The placed images need to be 150ppi at actual size, so they're honking big, sometimes up to 2GB. Once the layouts are approved, they have to go to a vendor for output.
The Illustrator docs are really large, and I've read in other threads how to combat that (PDF compatibility, raster settings). But even still, does anyone have any insight into the best way to deal with these things? The dimensions are large, and then the images are large, and it just makes for lots of looking at the spinning ball of death...
If it were me, I'd build them in InDe, but the vector graphics need to be edited for each one, and I so don't like to do that in InDe unless forced. To me, it's still ultimately a page layout app, not a drawing app. (Old school here.)
FYI, our machines are all MBPs with 8G ram and the latest Intel Core 2 Duo chips, 2.66 and 2.8GHz. If we keep the files local (as opposed to working on the server) it should be fairly zippy... No?
    Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

You can get into memory trouble with very large placed pdf files. Tiffs too.
This has to do with the preview, which contains much more information than you need for working with.
On the other hand if you place EPSs and take care not to turn on overprint preview you can get away with huge files.
If you do turn on overprint preview your machine will slow down a lot and the file may become totally unmanageable.
Compare this with to InDesign where you can control the quality of the preview. A hi-res preview will slow you down and most often you don't need it anyway.
I was working (in Illie) the other day on much larger files than you mention – displays for whole walls – and had some considerable trouble until I reverted to the old EPS format. They say it's dying but it ain't dead yet .

  • Would the entry level macbook pro 13" MD101 be good enough for working in After Effects

    Hi guys,
Im looking to purchase the entry level Macbook pro MD 101 for personal uses. I do quite a bit of video rendering and animation - basic stuff in after effects and sometimes Final Cut Pro.
So I was wondering, with the specs the current 13" pro has (2.5GHz i5) would that be enough for me to run after effects and get the job done without me having to throw my macbook on the ground from frustration?
I am currently using the OLD 15" Macbook Pro - late 2008 model (Silver design 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB DDR2 SDRAM) and its working alright for both FCP and AE.
Would this 13" Pro give slightly better performance? Or round about the same?
    Thanks in advance!

Yep, cannot upgrade the 13" graphics.
The graphics card doesn't help with final rendering, it does help while working on the project, i.e. preview compositions before rendering.
The 15" is still a better purchase for final rendering as well, the quadcore processor will certainly be much faster. However, if your only concern is with rendering, the 13" is still ok.
The graphics card can help with rendering if used with nvidia cuda

  • CV Artsmart not working with After Effects CC 2014

I'm trying to do a simple Path Spread animation with CV Artsmart (Cineversity plugin) but when I open the animation in After Effect CC with Cineware the animation does not display, it works perfectly in Cinema 4d r15 ...is this a bug or known issue, is there a work around?
    k.regards

Not all plug-ins work with Cineware.
Also, make sure that you are targeting your installed edition of Cinema 4D R15, rather than the bundled Cinema 4D Lite, as described here:

  • Working with after effects templates?

    Hello
Im trying to use a motion vfx, after effects template. Is it possible using dynamic link to bring individual clips from perm pro and drop them directly into after effects?
    Any ideas would be helpful.
I want to avoid exporting individual clips and then re import them into AF.
    Thanks
    Philip

When you "replace with AE Comp" it should take you to Ae ... you do your work there including choosing any template or effect ... then save within Ae. That automatically updates the clip back in PrPro to what you've just done. Exit Ae, go back into PrPro, keep working. Don't think I left out anything.
The first time I tried this I made it FAR more complicated than it is ... and it wouldn't work. Came on here, was told ... you over-complicated it noob, just ... do this, nothing else. I said thank you kind sir and ... voila ... it worked pretty dang slick. Now, I don't go to Ae often, so I'm still a TOTAL noob when working "over there" ... but getting there & back again is easy. Wish is was easy over there ... ah well ...

  • Best format for export to After Effects

When using a sequence from FCE in After Effects what is the best format to export? A Quicktime movie or a DV stream (or another format)?
    WA

If you're on the same computer and will be making no further changes to the sequence, export a QuickTime movie not self-contained. If you need to do further work on the sequence that might replace render files, make it a self-contained QuickTime Movie.

  • So, is there a Mac OS that actually works with After Effects?

I've been a Creative Cloud member for 7 monhts now.  I appreciate the service for my Photo Shop and Audition needs.  However, I've been unable to acces  After Effects.  It's been a major setback for an important project.  I didn't complain at first because, granted, I WAS running OS 10.6.8, and that's a bit outdate.  Today, I FINALLY took the day to back up files, visit the Apple Store and get myself up and running with Maverick, the latest OS.  Finally, right?  Wrong!  I downloaded and installed After Effects, but when I went to open it, I got the same message.
"You can't use this version of the application "Adobe After Effects CC" with this version of OS X."
Really, Adobe?  Can someone please tell me what it takes to run this software?  As far as I understand, you can't really go backwards when it comes to OS installs.  Am I making a mistake here?  Or is the reality that Adobe After Effects will be forever over that next dune.
    Help a brother out.

Thousands of people are using AE CC on Mavericks every day. But not AE version 12.0.0
You must install the update. 12.2.1.5 is the latest version. Well, the latest as of today - there's a new version on its way "soon".

I've Googled this on two separate occasions and can't get a clear answer. Just added a new PC for a customer. The PC came with Windows 8.1 (not Pro). Their server is Windows Server 2011 Essentials. To further complicate things the server is in another office connected by VPN. I tried installing the connector software but it failed. Sorry, don't remember the details as it was a couple of weeks ago. I was able to connect to shard drives manually using the IP address. But I'd like to set it up as a member of the domain the correct way.I'll probably need to spend the $100 to upgrade them to Windows 8.1 Pro, but before I get too deep into this I'd like to know that I'm not trying something that is unsupported.I did find this thread that eventually said that it was, but no hard evidence:...

  • Best document for working with ISD except GP

Anybody know any document except GP spec which describe how to Install ISD and working with it?
    Maybe including some examples.

    Thanks Sebastien_Lorquet & lexdabear,

The GP spec is a little hard to understand for beginners. It describes the concepts and it is a reference for developers.
I want another documentation which simply describe the ISD, SSD, Key management, Delegated Management, DAP and all related information, including some examples using SSDs.
    lexdabear wrote:
Ask Gemalto, G&D, Oberthur, Trusted Labs, .. why they block in GP that SDs can be developed and loaded.I know that ISD is a preloaded applet, and I don't need the really develop the ISD itself.
Is there any document which describe how and what can we do with security domains?

  • Premiere pro working with after effects

    Dear All,
I have an 'off line media' problem that I can create every time.(cs5)
    This is what I do:
    1. Create a after effects composition
    2. Create a premier pro project
    3. IMport the AE at 1 above into the bin
    4. Drop the comosition onto the timeline
    5. Playback, all is ok
    6. Save and close
    7. Open Premier pro again
The After effects composition on the timeline is red and marked media offline.
The media is not offline and have confirmed in windows explorer. In fact all files are on the same HD
I havent renamed, moved or deleted obvoiusly
I can delete and re-add but thats silly evfery time I start PPro
    Whats happening?
    Regards
    Chris Anderson

Dynamic Link has slowly gotten better and less... umm... forgetful. In my experience, it was randomly flaky in CS5 without much rationale.
Don't delete and re-import the DL'ed comp; instead, just select the offline comp footage item in the Project Panel, right-click, and select Link Media. In the dialog, navigate to your AE comp, and Pr should automatically reconnect to the proper comp.

  • Best strategy for working with popup dialog/PanelWindow (refbook)?

In JD 11g I want selecting the value from reference book (which returned from DB). This reference book must show in popup dialog.
I create bounded task flow with page fragment in which place the query filter and table with values for selecting.
    1. I inserted task flow as region in DIALOG component and place command button "OK" and "Cancel" into DIALOG buttons facet.
Problem - I cant gain access to binding value (which contain ID of selected row) from fragments page definition.
I try set the "Data Control Scope" value of task flow to "shared", but this did not help.
    2. I place command button "OK" and "Cancel" into page fragment and inserted task flow as region in panelWindow component. Now I cant gain access to binding value from fragments page definition (of course). But I cant auto-close the panelWindow after pressing buttuns on page fragment.
Please help to solve a problem!

    Thank you for help, Frank!
I have many reference books (reftables), which contains much records each (two columns - ID, TITLE). Also I have several tables (main tables), which refer to these reference books (maintable.ID_REF1 -> REF1.ID). On page, where I edit record from one of the main tables, i cant use simple LOV combobox, coz many records from reftable. Also I cant use ADF LOV input / ADF CHOICE LIST coz in input fields shows the ID of ref row (i want - the "title" column, bun cant do it). So I have solved to use the modal dialog / panel window in which include the region with reftable (coz each reftable may use in many page with edit of main tables).
