Best links for learning jsp

i would like to learn jsp from the basic concepts.where can i get the resource or help for learning jsp from the start.thanks in advance if some one could guide me in the right direction.

you can visit www.coreservlets.com / it is a great site, and there you can download a pdf version of Core Servlets and Java Server Pages, which is really good book to start learning JSP and servlet technology. In addition www.javaranch.com, is another good site, where you can find a lot of useful links

  • What are the best resources for learning JSP?

In your experience, what have been the best resources for learning JSP? I am new to this, and so far have been plugging away at a "Dummies" book. Hopefully there are other inexpensive ways (I checked the book out at the library), to learn it, and possibly even less boring (though I doubt it). I can deal with the boring, but I was wondering if I was going about learning it the best way.

  • [ Any best material to learn JSP ] for beginner level

    Hi,
i am new to JSP pages, i know HTML well
also give me some best link or e-Material to learn JSP with Examples.
    with TOMCAT 5.5.14 server
    Thanks
    Ghanshyam

Try out the JSP examples coming with Tomcat. They would give you a fair enough idea about JSP. And if you know HTML and have a fair enough understanding of JAVA you should pick it up early.

  • Best Training for learning Java

I've looked online, I've watched a couple videos, I've gotten books from the library, but I'm not sure if I'm truly learning the language.
I'm understanding a lot of the basics to Java, but where is the absolute #1 resource for learning Java? I want to be able to create some java games later on, but I'm trying to figure out where the best place to learn and understand the whole complete java language. I want to be able to understand it inside and out and I'm just having trouble finding where to learn the language.

Also, I looked into the "Thinking in Java" and found it at my library, but it was published in 2000, and I'm wondering how much of java has changed, or if that book would still help me out at all if it was published almost 8 years ago. Does it still have useful information and concepts that will help you? Absolutely! Realize that you aren't going to be studying this in a vacuum. You should also be learning from online sites, the forum, and perhaps other books. If you really learn the core concepts of Java and learn them well, getting up to date with the latest bells-and-whistles will be quite easy. Not to mention that a lot of employers don't always use the latest version of Java anyway. I work for a bank, and we're still using the 1.4 JDK...

  • Best sources for learning digital scrapbooking?

I am interested in learning more about digital scrapbooking using PSE7.  I'd like to print them using Shutterfly. I've looked all over the internet and am now confused where to start. I need to start with BASICS!  I'd love to find a message board where people exchange ideas.  Thanks for any ideas you have!

Once you get the hang of digital scrapping, you are going to become a collector of great digital kits and elements. My advice to people just starting out is top get organized *before* you accumulate a lot of stuff. And beleive me, you will! If you are using PSE ther eis Organizer built in, but I founf that to slow my computer down a bit. Other scrappers use Picasa. I use ACDSee Photo Manager and I find that one to be the easiest and the best.
If you google "digital freebies" you'll find some great stuff out there. Also, Digital Scrapbook Place is a great site for tutorials.
    Have fun!

  • Best Practice for using JSP in OBPM 10gr3

    Hi Guys,
We are using JSP for UI in our project. We are new to the OBPM. wants to clarify some things.
    1. is it good to have jsp in screenflows or if we can manage it outside BPM also with same effect
    2. How is the BPM database structured. Is the PAPI API's avaialble to get all the desired information from it.
    3. Is notes/attachments/audits managed in BPM database or if we can manage it in external db also.. how to access these from java if it can be managed in BPM db.
    4. What are the pro's and cons of PAPI vs JMS
    Thanks in Advance!!!!

    1. is it good to have jsp in screenflows or if we can manage it outside BPM also with same effectOthers will probably disagree, but I always say to use Screenflows and to use the out of the box Workspace. They are built in as part of the product and you'll be facing a ton of work trying to duplicate this functionality outside.
    2. How is the BPM database structured. Is the PAPI API's avaialble to get all the desired information from it.Unless it's a project variable or a variable that is marked as "Separated", the instance variables are stored in a single blob in a row in the Engine's database. PAPI can retrieve the instance variable information (I posted something on how to do this a while back on this forum and can find it if you need it).
    3. Is notes/attachments/audits managed in BPM database or if we can manage it in external db also.. how to access these from java if it can be managed in BPM db.The out of the box notes and attachments are also stored as part of the blob. On the project I'm currently on, the customer wanted the attachments stored separately in an external database so we did not use the out of the box attachments. They wanted what they call "tasks" stored in a separate database. These tasks were for ad hoc queries to send a question to any department / user and then store the history of responses and routing.
    4. What are the pro's and cons of PAPI vs JMSSorry - you lost me here. Sure someone else will pick up on the comparison between the API Oracle BPM uses and JMS, but I'm not getting it.

  • Best keyboard for learning on -- looking to buy

I am looking to buy a USB keyboard for my kids (9 & 12) to learn on Garage Band. We are not piano players, but would like to start with the lessons and maybe graduate up to playing sheet music for fun.
Keeping it simple, but wanting quality and some room to grow on....
Any opinions on what to get or avoid?

For kids, I would always pick a standalone keyboard that can produce sounds by itself - you just turn it on and makes sounds, as opposed to a midi controller which always needs a computer attached which might not always be available. There's a ton of instruments on the market - just make sure it has either a Mac compatible USB output or a Midi out (in which case you need an extra Midi interface to connect to the computer).
If you want to head towards serious piano playing, a keyboard with weighted keys would make sense, or an electric piano with midi output.

  • Best resources for learning InDesign scripting

    Hello,
I am teaching myself scripting in InDesign and having problems with the help systems.
I read the scripting docs from Adobe, examine free scripts and use the help in the ExtendScript Toolkit but I lack an education in javascript to really do well.
What books or online resources do you think could help me go from tinkerer to amateur scripter ?
    Thanks in advance,
    emmanuel.

In my experience as a learner, there is no substitute for trial and error. Olav Kvern's very helpful comments in his numerous examples (with very helpful explanatory comments) are a great start, because they enable anyone to start experimenting on their own. And I return to his examples practically every day. They answer such simple questions as "How do I open a new document?", as well as giving very clear, well-commented examples of stuff that I would otherwise find completely impossible -- such as "How do I rotate a text frame around the top-left corner?"
I'm no longer a complete beginner, but I am very much a learner still, and I think trail and error is THE way to learn anything, especially scripting. When I started off, it was about 99% error. Now I've got it down to about 75% error. But I nearly always end up with a script that works, after a struggle that is every bit as enjoyable as it is maddening, and it's a huge sense of achievement when I get there. Some gullible folks have even paid me money for this -- I have one in the pipeline for tomorrow!
Rather than reading too much stuff written by experts, I would urge you to experiment as much as possible, just by playing around to see what works and what doesn't work. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work first time. I'll bet even scripting experts (most of whom are on this list) fail on almost every first attempt. After you get one modest script to work, and then another, you'll build up a sort of "library of past scripting achievements" in your head (and in your scripts panel). Nowadays, every time I start a script, I think of how I successfully managed to do something like it before -- and I build from there.
Good luck with it -- Jeremy

  • Best resources for learning Labview?

Title says a lot. I have Labview for Everyone. What else is there? It can be difficult learning from a single book. I'm already getting in trouble with this book because it isolates every example from other parts of the system. Example... arrays are covered if you want to work an entire aray, not if you have to deal with specific cells. The LV for Everyone book describes the components but it can be difficult for a newb to extrapolate how to combine controls, structures, etc in an orderly fashion. I'd love to see something else with a lot of examples. Due to company downsizing, I cant really afford to ask for clasroom time. Possibly "toolbox" CD's where I can study (simple) snippets for real life solutions.
    Labview 8.5
    Meas Studio 2008

I'm not sure if you own a copy of LabVIEW yet.
If you do, there are a ton of examples you could look through.
When you open LabVIEW, on the 'Getting Started' page, in the bottom right corner, click  Find Examples.
From there, the programs are pretty self explanitory.
Try opening up simple programs, and messing with the code to see if you can understand it.
Here are 2 huge hints for trying to understand what is going on:
    1)  Press 'Help' >> 'Show context help'
This will display some helpful information when you hold your mouse over an icon (function).
    2)  Just before you run your VI, click on the light bulb on the top toolbar. This is the 'Highlight Execution' tool.
It will help you understand the dataflow of each program.
We try to help out as much as possible in the forums. If you get stuck anywhere down the line, dont hesitate to ask for help.

  • Best link for iPod to Maranz PM-17MKII amplifier

I have the 80g iPod and trying to find the best way of connecting to my amplifier. The options that I know about are a docking station or a direct cable from the iPod output using a split cable into the amp. Any advice welcome.
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I would use a dock. You would still need a cable to connect those two, but the line out on the dock is much better than the one on iPod (for amps).
Again, the dock is not a requirement, but I'd recommend you get one for this purpose. You can also control the iPod with a remote if you buy a remote and a dock.
