Best load test software for RTMP application

Hi everyone,
I'd like to run some load tests for my application (AIR 3.4, Flex 4.6). I'm using flex messaging protocol RTMP and I was wondering which software could easily (or not) simulate my Producer job and how.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Fabien

Hi Fabien,
Have you heard about NeoLoad from Neotys?
It is a load testing tool for Web applications. It is very focused on all RIA’s included Flex and RTMP.
I’m working for the company, and you could think that my opinion is biased here.
I then invite you to have a try yourself and download the trial version at www.neotys.com.
It includes all RTMP and Flex capabilities. You’ll see how NeoLoad makes easy the handling of that protocol.
Our website gives explanation on RTMP load testing, that might be helpful too.
The last but not the least, we’re Adobe partner. Our tool has been designed accordingly to all RTMP requirements. You can go ahead with confidence.
Regards,
Olivier Hanoun.

  • I am looking for a load testing tool for my flex application

I am looking for a load testing tool for my flex application having a limited budghet of 1000-1500$. I have gone through NEOLoad,WebUiLoad all are very expensive.

Do you have iPad 1 or 2?
You can connect iPad 1 via a VGA adapter to any projector with a VGA input (all projectors have this).
You can connect iPad 2 via VGA or HDMI.
I like Epson or Sony for projectors.

  • Load Test Tools for CC&B 2.2?

We are evaluating four load test tools for CC&B 2.2. JMeter (Free), BadBoy (Free), TheGrinder3 (Free), Selenium (Free) and Loadrunner 9.5.1.
    1) Does anyone out there have a load test success story to share? If so, be sure to mention which tool or tool combination.
    2) Can anyone recommend another solution we might want to evaluate?
    3) It appears none of these tools work "out of the box" with CC&B. GUI rendering mode fails ajax calls. Does anyone have a trick for working around/through this issue?
At this point, it appears the best options are:
    1) Use a combination of JMeter and BadBoy. We record the gui navigation in BadBoy and run the script in JMeter. JMeter doesn't support https GUI capture, but it seems to be the better tool for running the scripts and analyzing the results. BOTH TOOLS ARE FREE.
    2) Loadrunner VuGen. Fails on replay due to the ajax calls. Manual scripting is the only workaround found so far.
TheGrinder3 has no GUI replay. You can't watch the replay. Also, passwords are clear text.
Selenium only works with Firefox. LVVWD doesn't use/support firefox.
I should also mention that our criteria assumes minimal load testing in the near future and are trying very hard to avoid spending big $$$ for upgrade and maintenance fees.

My company used AppLoader to run tests through NRG Global. We didn’t have a lot of people to dedicate to the testing, so we paid NRG a consulting fee to do it for us (for surprisingly less than we thought!). We had them test a Citrix & .net client/server application (with 300 users) and an Apache web application with Ajax (150 users). AppLoader is protocol independent, so it worked just fine with both. Also, it tests from the front end, so you can watch the GUI replay. They also have password encryption, although we didn’t use it for our tests.
They were able to run the tests & get the data back to us quickly. We ended up with some failures & errors, but they gave us a detailed report with screenshots, logs & graphs which enabled us to find the problem, get it fixed and get our application up quickly. Turns out we had a memory leak. It was a relief to have the test done so fast, thorough & without the huge price tag. I spoke with the consultant there directly. She was very nice & helpful walking me through the results. Hope that helps. Good luck!

  • What is the best/suggested CI software for SVN+ADF+Weblogic

What is the best Conitinuous Integration software for building ADF projects on every post-commit in subversion?
By googling I could see that Jenkins (formerly Hudson) needs to be patched for the use with weblogic. Is this still true?
Is there anything specific and working out of the box with Weblogic?
    Thanks

hi, this will be a late response, but anyway...
we set up continuous integration environment for our adf projects with Hudson v1.395(version before Jenkins fork). there is no need to patch hudson for weblogic deployments.
system basically works like this; when a developer commits changes, hudson loops svn every minute. then it creates ADF Library jar file. we have 15 modules deployed as ADF Library. in every 2 hours, another hudson job deploys main application to weblogic dev and test environments.

  • Test scripts for oracle applications using qtp testing tool

    hi
i want some test scripts for oracle applications using qtp testing tool
    regards

You will need to create separate scripts for Load testing. The functional scripts cannot be used in OLT. The exceptions to this would be the "General" items (Java Code Script & Web Services) which can also be used in OLT.
e.g. Instead of selecting "Functional Testing - Oracle EBS/Forms"
select "Load Testing (Protocol Automation) - Oracle EBS/Forms"
Once you get into load testing you'll realise that you want to create very specific scripts and won't want to try re-using functional scripts. I know a lot of such tools are 'sold' on the fact that functional scripts can be re-used for load, but when it comes down to it you'll want to design your load scripts seperately anyway!

  • Is Logic Pro the Best Audio Recording Software for Mac?

Couple questions. I do a lot of audio production and work currently. I use a gateway with Cubase, and its not bad, but I feel like I need something mroe high end.
I'm looking at the 17 inch Imac. Does anyone record using this computer? How's it sound? Is there any way to put in a new soundcard or something if i don't like the current one?
Secondly, is logic pro the most advanced and best audio recording software for the mac? Are there others as well?
I know about Pro Tools, but it seems like there isn't anything high end enough that is TOO high end.
Does the Pro version have superior mixing capabilties. I am primarily going to be micing a guitar amp and having a mixer run into a firewire port, and also using a preamp for my guitar direct into the computers USB.
Lastly, how are the mixing features on Logic Pro vs. Logic Express? I do a lot of post production mixing as well, and use VST plugins. Speaking of that, will it accomodate using a drum program like BFD through VST or Midi like Cubase will?
    Thanks for your time guys.

Yes, you do indeed need sth more high end.

It's not an iMac, but a faithful PowerBook G4 that I am using. Apples Core Audio is awesome. Your sound, however, will depend on your interface.

That's why we are here, and that's why you ended up in this forum as well
To me personally, Logic sounds warmer and bigger than any ProTools system I've ever heard. From what yopu described as the work you need to do, there is no comparable application. Logic also offers you many more features above and beyond what you currently need to do.
I know about Pro Tools, but it seems like there isn't
anything high end enough that is TOO high end.
Everybody is using PT, and you should maybe get a Light Edition version of it. However, as stated above, Logic offers by far more possibilities.

guitar amp and having a mixer run into a firewire

For your purpose, Logic does have superior mixing capabilities. In my humble opinion, only the popularity of PT made it become the choice of studios and engineers, but things are turning...
Lastly, how are the mixing features on Logic Pro vs.
Logic Express? I do a lot of post production mixing
as well, and use VST plugins. Speaking of that, will
it accomodate using a drum program like BFD through

If you do post production mixing, forget about Logic Express altogether and go for Logic Pro. LP will accomodate tons of plug-ins, and it comes with a bunch of great one's as well!
The format for the plug-ins is called A(udio) U(nit) and works flawlessly. Many VST plug-ins are also available in AU format and the development of those is moving fast forward.
In other words, yes, you will be able to use BFD in Logic by means of the AU format.
    Thanks for your time guys.
    You're welcome.

  • What's the best FTP server software for Mac OS X Server?

What's the best FTP server software for Mac OS X Server?
We have looked at a few different applications out there (Rumpus, CrushFTP, etc...) and are wondering what the community feels.
Apples built -in isn't robust enough. We do need some advanced features (reporting, SFTP, a web interface would be nice etc...).
    Opinions?

    Hi
For me it has to be RumpusFTP Server:
    http://www.maxum.com/Rumpus/
It has a secure web interface - no need to open ports 20, 21. No need for dedicated FTP client software for uploading and downloading. Supports the most commonly used browsers. Multi-platform support and can be installed on a standard client OS.

  • What is the best investment tracking software for macs?

what is the best investment tracking software for macs?

Three issues to consider about an external HD:
    1. Connectivity. In other words, USB 2.0 and Firewire. If you intend to move large chunks of data at once, such as when streaming audio or video for professional applications, then Firewire is better suited for that. Otherwise, for normal applications, USB is ok.
    2. RPMs. In other words, how fast the HD platter spins around. Most consumer HD have a 5400 rpm (rotations per minute) speed. Some HD have a 7200 or even 10,000 rpm spec. The faster the rotation, the faster the access time, the faster information on the HD can be accessed. Not a critical factor unless you deal with audio or video.
    3. Brand. In other words, reliability. Best ones, form my experience, are Seagate and Western Digital. Go for Seagate if you can. I've never had any issues with a Seagate drive. You can also go to your local computer shop and they will have separate drives and enclosures, so you can customize the look and connectivity of your HD.

  • I have macbook pro w existing iPhoto library. Now have Canon printer and loaded Canon software for same. Cannot access iPhoto library from Canon software, but prints fine from iPhoto. How can I use iPhoto library w Canon software?

I have a macbook pro w exisitng iPhoto library. I now have Canon printer and loaded Canon software for same. I cannot access iPhoto library for use from Canon software. I can print from iPhoto directly to new printer without problem. How can I use iPhoto library with Canon software? I would like to try the software to see which I prefer...

Simply export some photos from iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and experiment.
Without telling us even what this program is, not to mind what it does, that's the best anyone can suggest.

  • What is the best virus/spyware software for OSX 10.6.8?

What is the best virus/spyware software for OSX 10.6.8 on an iMac?

Csound1's answer albeit short is correct. Because there are no viruses (as in zero, none, nada, zip) for OS X having antivirus software is a waste of time, resources and possibly money. About the only need for antivirus software is if you frequently download files you know nothing about and then forward them to Windows users. In that case even though you still don't need anything for OS X you are protecting the Windows users from your passing along infected files. Most anti-virus software for OS X tend to create more problems than they solve however if  you insist I'd recommend ClamXav which is free, non-intrusive and is frequently updated.

  • Apple Hardware Test software for late '07 Macbook?

Where do I get the Apple Hardware Test software for a late '07 Macbook?  Original disk is long lost and it doesn't appear Apple has this up for download.
The battery is not taking any charge, totally dead after 772 cycles.  But don't know if its the battery or the Macbook's internal battery charging hardware.

Using How to identify MacBook models your Macbook is a Macbook 3,1. At this link https://github.com/upekkha/AppleHardwareTest click on Macbook3,1 link which will download the AHT software. Here is the direct link - MacBook3,1 Mac-F22788C8.

  • Best Organizational Chart Software for the Mac

Any suggestions for the best org chart software for the Mac?

I dunno, there aren't really any screen shots or concrete descriptions on the Evernote site, and I've never used it, but from looking at a video on their site, I'm not sure it would qualify for creating organizational charts. If Fred is looking for something that creates stuff like flow charts and the like, he may have better luck with OmniGraffle. Whether this is available on the Mac App Store, I don't know... but if not, don't bother with the Mac App Store and just download from the web site:

Handbrake to copy to avi or mp4(I use it for watching my DVD's on the go, so my battery lasts for a longer time)
I think MP4 is better quallity.
To copy a DVD: simply use Toast (maybe withe popcorn, but I don't use it).
But, be legal! This is a forum, and anyone can see your posts!
