Best Lyrics cannot be permanently removed. It must have installed a hidden file that creates the add on each time the computer is booted.

I inadvertently allowed the Best Lyrics add on to be installed for Firefox. It has annoying adds and sometimes links to malicious software. It can be disabled or removed from a session and become non functional after a Firefox restart but each time the computer is booted up it appears again. I assume there must be a file hidden somewhere that re-installs the add on each time the computer is started up. Does any one know how to remove this permanently?

Thanks for the tip. It rurns out that the Bestlyrics was actually added as a program and I was able to get rid of it by uninstalling it from the control panel. (Should of thought of this before). I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes and it did find a couple of other PUP items for adware that I deleted. Thanks for the tip.

There is an update avaialbe for Ford systems to correct bluetooth problems. You need to update your system.

MDo you have an external HD you can store the full iPhoto library on? If so copy your library to it as your backup.
Then open the library on your Mac and create a smart album with the criteria Date is before XX/XX/XXXX. This will display all photos before that date. You can then select groups of about 100 photos and type Command+Option+Delete to move them to the iPhoto Trash where you can empty it. Then repeat for another batch of about 100. iPhoto chokes when trying to delete large numbers of photos.
Or if you know which Events you want to remove just select a couple and drag them to the iPhoto Trash bin and empty.

Since ReminderFox 2.1.4 was installed, I have deselected the 'Status/Add-on Bar Display 'Bow' and text on status bar' numerous times, but the setting never takes effect even after pressing the Apply and OK buttons.
The Add-on Bar, which has always been deselected from the View > Toolbars menu, shows as selected in the menu, and even though I deselect it manually, when I close Firefox and then reopen it, it shows again as selected in the menu.

There is no logical expectation for Whatsapp to be listed under location services or for that to have any affect on what the app can access.

Click on the Hot Corners.. button and look at the four definitions. In the picture below, if you moved the cursor to the right top of the screen, it would slide all the applications off the screen as you describe and show the desktop. Set it to "-" to deactivate.

I had the same issue and I'm running Windows 7. Tried working with technical support for several hours but they were no help. They just had me doing the same things over and over, offering no real answers. I finally got fed up and have decided to return my product for a full refund.

If you're being repeatedly prompted to install the 64-bit version of iTunes, I'd suggest first completely uninstalling iTunes and all its related components using the steps found here:

Once you've uninstalled iTunes and its components, install the latest version of iTunes found here:

A third party soft crashed. I removed the application to the trash, I got rid of every preference, cache and so on (easyFind to fide hidden files). When I reinstall it, it shows the beginning of the license text for 5 seconds and closes automatically.

A third party soft crashed (Episode). When I reinstall and relaunch it, it opens the window showing the licensing instructions, but only for a few seconds, not allowing me to go further and enter the license number. I did put the application to the trash and remove every trace of it (preferences, caches and even hidden files using EasyFind), zapped the PRAM, I ran Onyx and disk utility, and reinstalled. And it is still the same. Anyone have an idea ?

Firefox needs 32-bit plugins, so you'll need to install 32-bit Java for Firefox.
No, you can't change Firefox from 32-bt to 64-bit. There is a Nightly 64-bit version (alpha) of Firefox, but it is used only to test for regressions until development is resumed.

I have a missing event file that cannot be reconnected.

I have a file that is missing in the event. Whne I try to reconnect the file I get an error stating that the original file has no video and cannot be reconnected. There are no red files in the event browser. I have re-imported the file and can use it just fine. I am asking to see if anyone knows howe to "forget" the missing file. There are no alias's in the original media folder and the missing file does not exist anywhere on my machine.

This is a serious problem w/ FCP X 10.0.5 for simple footage with modified TC fr. dslr h.264 footage. I had to delete the clip and reimport all over otherwise it will not let me relink. Hopefully they'll make it like FCP 7 and let the clip import w/ the adjusted parameter.

I have ordered the rMBP and will giving my old MBP (2010) to my girlfriend what is the best way to remove the programs and files that she wont use and make it her computer rather than my old one?

I have no real need to upgrade but as a student the price it would be silly not to.
I will be giving my MBP to my girlfriend but she wont use a lot of the software on there such as the final cut and CS5 and would rather use the space for her own iTunes library. Some will be kept on though like the old office suite as i have bought the 2011 one as well

She'll have whichever operating system that came with your computer. Your updates are tied to your Apple ID so if you've purchased updated OS X versions, she'll want to reinstall them using her own Apple ID (yes, it will cost her something but not much).
Kappy's a know-it-all (and I mean that in the politest of terms) who's a frequent poster here. He has a 'canned' script about how to get your computer ready for resale. I guess he just doesn't have enough points yet to make it an User Tip, but it's a great little rundown of what to do.
BEFORE you erase everything, I would purchase (if you don't already have one) an external USB hard drive and use Time Machine to backup everything. When you startup your new computer (or afterwards if you just can't wait to see the clean, crisp text in TextEdit) you can use Time Machine to properly migrate all your files, apps and all, onto your new MBPR. If you're not familiar with Time Machine, see http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html. Oh, yeah, since you have Office 2011, you'll need your activation code handy as, for some reason, the activation code does not carry over when you use the Time Machine restore. All Adobe, etc., apps are fine. It's just that damned MS Office that gets you.
Hopefully Kappy will jump in here. If not just post a message "Kappy: Preparing MBP for resell?" or something to that effect and I'm sure that he'll see it.
