Best method to combine Instant Movie (Theme) with regular video?

I’m creating a video and I would like to use a theme for a slideshow, yet leave the rest of the video (first 16 minutes) alone. I currently have two separate projects, one with my regular video footage and one project with the instant movie theme.  So, if there is a way to copy and paste one project into another that would be perfect, yet I have not seen that option. What is the best way to accomplish this? I was thinking I could export the instant movie and then add the media to my existing project, yet I’m not sure what format to use so I don’t lose quality. The video is AVCHD (1920 x 1024), and I would eventually like to burn everything to a Blue-ray disc when I get a burner, yet for now DVD will do. Thoughts?

I like the idea of doing everything in one project, yet I’m guessing I would have an issue with doing so since the video in the timeline has been edited and the video within the available media section is the raw video (I think that is correct).  However, this should work great for the stills, yet I’m not sure about the video.
My main concern is torching the non-theme video by applying a theme…
To do what you are saying; would I simply select the images (hold down CTRL and select or smart tag them?) from the media selection screen within the interface and…?

  • Is there somewhere that I can buy additional instant movie themes for Adobe Premiere Elements 12?

Just wondering if there are any additional themes that are available to purchase and download for the program?  Thank you.

    LizzyLove
As to your thread question..not that I have ever run into. You can customize the Adobe Instant Movies by creating an Instant Movie and then using the Break Apart Instant Movie at the Timeline level to do just that and modify that just created Instant Movie as wanted.
There are no additional theme to purchase. And, the existing Instant Movie (Content Download type) for an Adobe design needs to be downloaded from within the program (See Instant Movie display of choices and thumbnail with blue ban at the top right corner of that thumbnail. Select Download Now (to obtain completed files for theme) or Download All (to obtain completed files for All Instant Movie theme choices).

  • Instant Movie Themes Download Error

I have just upgraded to PE11 and have a series of jpg images in a PE file that I was trying to create as a slideshow.
I have been using the expert view (although I cannot see that makes any difference) and thought I would try out the instant movie themes.
The Pan and Zoom theme works fine, but I cannot get any of the other themes to work.   Selecting the theme and clicking the next button, PE11 shows the dialogue box in the attached image suggesting it is downloading content.   BUT, it never finishes and just cycles around the download with the blue bar filling, clearing and then starting again.   There is no error message, just a constant cycling of the blue bar.
Has anyone else come across this?
    Thanks.

As you can see, the program will download the other themes as needed. That's what it's trying to do in the illustration you provided.
Have you registered the program and signed in with your Adobe ID?
Do you have a good, reliable internet connection?
If the answer to both of those questions is yes, you may have just caught the Adobe site offline. Try again. Depending on your internet speed, it can take a couple of minutes.

  • Instant Movie Themes

Does anyone know where I can download new movie themes for Adobe Premier Elements 9?  I keep typing this question into google, for this specific version, and answers for every version but this one keep coming up.  Am I the only one that owns this version?  I have several Instant movie themes for it already, the ones that came with it, but I am working on a project, and none of them are what I am looking for or needing, so I really need more options.

Have you downloaded all the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 content?

If so, then you probably have as much as is available. There were scattered reports on how to make one's own, but the bottom line (easy way) seems to be, if you want something different than what Adobe has provided, then you take Adobe's Instant Movie and customize it. After the Instant Movie is created, you can right click it on the Timeline and select Break Apart Instant Movie. Then do your editing of the components that went into the Instant Movie.

  • Is there a link to any NEW instant movie theme's?

I am looking a link to any NEW instant movie theme's, just got Elements 13 and there is still the old theme's, looking for somthing new. Anyone?

Nothing beats about:blank in my opinion for clarity and for tab history.
Here is an extension that does what you asked for, it is VERY large for what you get out it (which to me, what I would get out of it is confusion).

  • Is there an instant movie theme suitable for Real Estate videos with Premiere Plus?

Most of the themes are very flashy/snappy/loud. Before I pay $50. I would like to know that there is a theme suitable for a short real estate video of a neighborhood and walkthrough of a home. Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
I hesitated to reply, as I have only used Themes once, and then totally reconstructed the Effects. I also do not have PrE 10, so you probably have more Themes, but I am not sure that any is really suitable for your described Project. I was hoping that Steve, Neale, John T., or others, who might have more familiarity with Themes, would show up, but they have not - yet.
Looking through the Themes that I have, and even putting on my creative hat, to image how one might work as a base, and then be heavily modified for your Project, I am coming up almost at a total loss. The closest that I could come would be the Travel Theme, where the Locations (in the Theme) are changed to the houses in a neighborhood. Yes, that IS a stretch, but the best that I can come up with.
I agree with you that the Themes, in their stock form, are flashy, loud and most suited for a short treatment, that would be shown to young children, sort of like many things at a Disney themepark - bright lights that flash, loud SFX and music, bright colors, etc..Hardly suitable for a commercial, professional Video.
    Now, when you write:
Before I pay $50. I would like to know that there is a theme suitable...
Are you contemplating buying a "Theme Pack," (have not seen such) or similar, or do you mean, before you buy PrE?
If the former, can you point to the source of that Theme Pack, and I will look over the details. If you mean the latter, PrE is in no way restricted to those Themes. I have used PrE for many years, and have used but one Theme (heavily modified), in all that time. I have created many commercial, business Videos, so the program has all the power that you need - just not with their Themes.
If you are contemplating the purchase of PrE, can you outline the material that you will be working with, a few of your ideas on the aesthetics, that you would like to incorporate, any technical thoughts, and give us an idea of how you will want to deliver the Video. We can help you make that decision, as to whether PrE is the right tool.
While I have not seen any of the newer versions, AVID/Pinnacle's Studio program (probably up to ~ 15 now) has, or had, similar with their Instant Movie. However, back to about Studio 10, those were in the same vein, as PrE's Themes (nearly useless, and often rather odd, though usually funny, and maybe not in the way intended?). Back through about 10, I cannot imagine one of those being useful for your purpose, but might have missed one, and Pinnacle might have finally added some that ARE useful.
Good luck, and please let us know a bit more.

  • Instant movie themes do not load in PE 11

I installed the trial version of PE 11 on my Windows 7 desktop. When I load a video clip and click on Instant Movie, it shows me a list of themes. After I select a theme and click next, it shows me a box that keeps on saying "Downloading online content", but never stops. I gave it about 15 minutes, but it still does not go beyond that point. Before buying this software I would like to know whether PE 11 goes online to load each and every movie theme, or does the paid version come with themes on the disk, that can be loaded faster from the computer? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

    Sankalpit,
That is my understanding from Adobe engineers. I have not gotten my PrE 11 set yet, so I cannot verify that. Maybe others can.
I was pointing out issues with the Additional Functional Content installing into the 32-bit program folders, where if the user had the 64-bit version, it would not see that Additional Functional Content, though it was properly installed. The reply that I got was that they would look into the issues, but that all Additional Functional Content was now downloaded from on-line, that would not be a problem with PrE 11.
Also, as one can switch a trial version to full-paid, just by inserting their S/N, when they purchase, there should be no reason to uninstall, then reinstall.
As for a URL, I do not have one, but will search to see if Adobe has put up a separate one. As several other things happen, regarding Activation of certain modules in PrE, that have to be handled via the Internet, it could be that that is the only method that Adobe is offering - right from the program.
    Good luck,

  • Downloading Instant Movie Themes -Premiere Elements 13

I am using an HP 350 G1 with Windows 7 64 bit system.  When trying to create and instant movie and attempting to download any theme, it is taking a long time to download and frequently says the download failed and that either I have lost my internet connection or the server is unavailable.  I hit retry and it seems to continue but gets stuck at the end saying "completing download".

    ndreeya
Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 64 bit. Have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates? If not, please do so.
But to the matter of the Instant Movie content downloads. Is the issue restricted to Instant Movie or to other content download as well.
What is the down/up Internet speeds?
The loss of the Adobe content installation disc has been of concern. But, I managed with content download with my DSL Internet (with
speeds in the Kbps (kilobits per second). The content download was often time consuming but did eventually go to completion. Recently
I was forced into an Internet change, resulting in Internet speeds that are in the megabits per second range. What a difference in Content download.
So, let us look at the Internet speeds first and then decide what next if those do not explain the situation you face obtaining content download.
Have you check with your Internet provider to determine if there are problems with your Internet connection? Did you clear the browser Options/Advanced/Network/Cached Web Content and turned off the route for about 45 seconds?
    Looking forward to your results.
    Thank you.

  • Custom Instant Movie themes?

Is there a possibility to make your own themes for Instant Movie in PE 11?
Are we stuck with themes that are already on list or will Adobe make this list bigger with time?:)

At one time, along with PrE, came a subacription to Adobe.com, and for Plus Members (additional subscription fee), US (only) members could download some additional themes, however the list of offerings were not that extensive, and many people were dissatisfied. I do not know of that possibility now, and have not heard of any Plus membership in some years now.
One possibility, though I think that it might fall a bit short, would be to choose a Theme, and then edit that, changing thing about.
Another would be to go to Muvipix.com, as there are many custom Menu Sets, plus several active members there, have spent a lot of time changing, and customizing things in PrE. I do not recall seeing any custom themes, but I am certain that some Muvipix folk have tried, and can give you tips, and maybe even point you to other sources: www.muvipix.com
Good luck, and if you DO find some custom Themes, or find ways to create your own, please update this thread, to help others in the future.

  • Best methods for importing artwork via Illustrator with tranparency?

I'm new to Final Cut Pro and am tryin to figure out the best methods for importing artwork via Illustrator. So far, I've been saving the artwork as a transparent PNG, but I feel like there should be a better way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi:
Ussually I have to rebuild in AI the company logo (I use to work for industries) to include in FCP edit.
    - If you have CS2, open Photoshop and create a new file using the right preset (i.e. DV PAL) using transparent background. That creates a PSD empty file with all attributes you need (pixels dimensions and aspect ratio) to use later in FCP.
    - Select your work (i.e. the final logo) in the AI canvas and copy it.
    - Paste it in the empty PSD file as "vextor information" (I don't remember right now the exact words!). That way you can resize it in the PSD file without loosing quality.
    - The better ir deciding the size NOW in Photoshop, or create sveral version in different sizes. Yuo'll get better quality id you make the resizings in Photoshop rather that doing a scale in FCP timeline.
    - Once your logo is in the right dimension into the PSD file, save a copy and flatten all layers keeping the transparent background. If you don't need the layers during editing in FCP, you better have all layers flattened.
    - Import that file in FCP.
That's my workflow, but probably you'll find different flavors here!

  • What is the best method for backing up movies?

I've been using Handbrake to rip out movies that I OWN so I can watch them on my apple tv. Everything works great, I'm just wondering what the best way to back up these files is. Any ideas?
I own about 400 DVD's and would like to have them all in my Itunes Library so I can watch them in my apple tv. I've spent many many many many hours with Handbrake and putting them on external firewire hard drives and I really love this system. I can watch any movie any time without loading up my DVD.
BUT, I would hate to have a hard drive failure and loose all of this time I've spent doing this. Any ideas on the best way to back up these movie.MP4 files? I guess I could burn a ton of DVD's, but I'm guesssing there is another easier way.
And PLEASE, leave out the copyright comments, I BOUGHT these DVD's, and there is NO reason I shouldnt be able to watch them on my apple tv...
    thanks,
    Brown.Recluse

I'm in a similar situation including movies I've purchased from iTunes...
    Here's my setup:
I have all my iTunes data (music, movies, etc.) as well as about 10 GB of photos stored on a nework storage device that uses RAID-5 with SATA disks. This is basically a little toaster-sized NAS machine with four hard drives in it (www.infrant.com). If one of these drives dies, I get alerted and can insert a new one without missing a beat since the data is stored redundantly across all drives. I can also just yank out any one of the four drives while the thing is running and my data is still safe (I tried this after I bought it as a test).
That's how I prevent problems with a single disk... Redundancy
    Now onto "backups"...
Nightly, my little RAID toaster automatically backs itself up to an attached 250GB USB drive. However, these backups are only of my critical data... documents, photos and home movies... I don't bother backing up my "Hollywood" movies since I can live without them in a disaster.
... I actually don't permanently store anything I care about on a laptop or a desktop. It all goes on the NAS box (Network Sttached Storage) and then my other computers use it as a network drive. It's attached via Gigbait to my main computer and via wireless to most everything else.
My achilles heel is that I don't store anything outside of my house yet. If I was smart, I'd alternate two USB drives attached to my NAS box and always keep one of them somewhere else (Safe Deposit Box?).
...and that's just one way to do it.

  • Easiest and/or best methods for generating XML output (not with a report)

Hi, several of our EBS customers (11.5.10) are converting their PDF reports to use XML/BI publisher to produce output. The data stream comes from a report that generates the XML output, and then the XML template is applied. This works great ... no problems, etc. From what I have read, however, Oracle intends to treat the traditional Forms and Reports Developers as legacy tools (although still supporting them, of course).
My question is if I wanted to ditch using Reports to generate XML output, what, in your opinion or in your current usage, is the easiest way of getting this data? In Reports, the data modeler is excellent in providing a method to write your queries, split them into different repeating groups, write formula and summary columns, link multiple queries, etc, etc. If one were to become Reports Developer free, what comparable tools are available to take its place? I would expect this tool to handle a mix of GUI and coding like the Reports data modeler. Please note that I'm not looking for an EBS-specific solution -- say for a custom application using regular Oracle 10g DB and iAS, with BI Publisher for reporting.
    Thanks for your feedback,
    Ryan

What I'm looking for is to not use Oracle Reports to generate the XML data output since Oracle's statement of direction is pushing BI Publisher rather than Oracle Reports as the preferred tool for reporting. That said, the data modeler in Reports provides a very flexible tool to construct and link multiple queries and to manipulate the queries into several levels of a master/detail relationship. Further, the mix of GUI and coding makes setting up the data model a lot more efficient. What I'm looking for (and I don't know if anything exists) is something comparable that can be used to generate XML output from the DB -- the idea being that I wouldn't use legacy tools, like Reports, for this task. I hope that is clearer.
Really, another way of answering my question is, aside from Reports and the APIs mentioned so far, what are my fellow developers using, if anything, to extract XML data in a way that handles the features i list above?

  • Best method for adjusting a movie clips brightness?

Can someone share their method for adjusting the brightness of a Movie Clip?  With code of course : )
    thanks!

under AS3 you can do this using the 'brightness' property of the Color class, as in:
    import fl.motion.Color;
    var color = new Color();
    color.brightness = 0.5;
    myMC.transform.colorTransform = color;
(ps. the range is from -1.0 to 1.0 negative being 'darken', positve being 'lighten')
