Best methods and ways of learning about material management before training in SAP MM?

Need your guidance here,iam at the first step ,joined now in SAP MM and need methods of learning and ways that i should take before attending the training of SAP MM.Iam a fresher with 2 yrs of experience in production support(RETAIL)

Saikumar,
Not sure what you mean by "joined now in SAP MM". Do you have a job where you do SAP MM? Are you planning to take coursework through a certified training provider?
In general, I recommend you buy an overview book on SAP and on SAP MM. Also, check out one of the many youtube overviews of SAP and/or SAP MM. This should help you get your bearings a bit.

With all of the big changes that have gone on with Lion, surely it would have made sense for Apple to have provided how the new commands work? What is the best way to learn about how things have changed?

Apple has tended in my expereince to provide intuitive software that users can grow to use and admire. Why then does Lion go off at a tangent and become unintuitive and just plain hard work to work out? I run a business and this has caused a lot of time consuming effort particularly when working out how to save files (in certain programs). Like so many products (iPhone being one), there is no guide to the great things that can be done and I just don't have the time to go fishing around online looking for tips and tricks when I've got clients who need things quickly.

I also am a Newbie to the Java language and am trying to get my head around it. I guess it all depends upon how much experience, and at what level, you have with programming in general. I have a good understanding of what my University tutor called "sequential logical thought" but I must confess this Object Oriented approach is, at first, most odd. However the Sun tutorial :

Hiiii My Guru ABAPers....
Here i have stuck once again with a question of material management...
Let me describe my question :
I am told to make a report of mm whose fields are used in transction ME23N.
here in condition sub-tab there are fields exists called "condition type" , "name",
"amount" , "currency" and "condition value"...who all defenately contains some values... but dears i am not able to find out WHICH TABLE-FIELDS holds these values ... by going into technical info it shows the "KOMV" STRUCTURE ... and that is logically impossible that any database structure could hold any value...
here i am waiting for ur reply...

is this the best way to do this? i am basically login in the user and then setting a timer through that program. Everything actually works but the UNIX command doesn't seem like it ever finishes. I've been searching on the internet about scripts waiting for output results or something like that and that is why it might be hanging....but i haven't found anything concrete that is relevant to my sitaution.

i am got your unix command to work about changing the password but then i get this funky popup before lion logins in asking me if i want to change the keychain....i don't want that popping up everytime so i don't think i'm going to go that route....
also....i should mention that Ugandans are beginners when it comes to computers.....i feel safe in making that generlization because even the ones that i meet who get degrees in "IT" are good in theory but barely know how to defrag a windows machine (i'm not exagerrating)....
also i think the setup i have is good and i wouldn't want someone to come up with their own password and then enter that.....like i said before people here are just learning so i have to take as much off of them using the computer (or at least getting start) as possible.....remotely logging them in and then even with the web account i have setup on the client computers (if they pay for web access) it launches safari for them so they can start to browse.....
but your work around for enterting the time in the menubar countdown is perfect because it is a great workaround for scripting a bunch of delays and keystrokes....PERFECT!
two remaining things....is there anyway i can combine all that i need into a single unix command?
- logins in the user (the code i posted above)
- modifies the plist files of menubar to enter the correct time
- then launches an applescript (bundled into an application i'm assuming) that launches menubar countdown and pushes enter....
if i could figure that out (with your help) that would be the holy grail for me!
i also tried your PHP-script and it says that it can't connect even though i have the correct IP address of the machine (the one that is showing up in ARD and i know that works)....btw i have assigned statis IP address to all clients if that matters.....
i really appreciate it!
ps: i already have DeepFreeze installed on all clients and love it...i know from experience it is going to save me days and thousands of headaches

Country to Country Calling -Best Plan and Way to C...

I in US, but will be traveling in Europe and want to call in advance from one country to the next country I will be travelling to - Such as: Calling from Frankfurt, Germany to hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the day before I arrive there, or calling from Zurich, Switzerland to a hotel in Berlin, Germany the day before. Would the best way to do this (iPhone/mobile) be to buy Skype credit/pay as you go time, and how would I get an idea of the additional cost from each of those countries/cities to the next?
- I'm looking at doing this rather than buying a SIM card in each country -any help would be appreciated.

I assume that it isn't caused by an extension and that it still happens with all extensions disabled?
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Accounting 1 and Costing 1 View in Material Master

Hi SAP Gurus,
I noticed that we only have "Accounting" and "Costing" views activated in Material Master in our current SAP environment. I don't see "Accounting 1" and "Costing 1" views available. Could someone tell me how to activate these views?

Check this path out for adding views to material type:
Spro>Logistics-General>Material master>Basic Settings>Material types>Define attributes of material type, then click execute, then double click on material type you want to edit, here on right side you will see user departments, you need to get Accounting and costing view highlighted and click save
In MM01, you need to extend the view for accounting 1 and costing 1. Enter your material number and click enter, here when you see views, select accounting 1 and costing 1, maintain data in the said views and save the material, your material will be extended to the said views.

If you have a sponsorship, I would recommend taking classes with Oracle University. The other resources are documentation, functional and technical depending on what your interests are.
If you can load Vision database or access vision database (I think solutionbeacon offers a free account to login and play around), that will be another resource as well.
As you learn, join as much user groups like this one, and review all questions and answers in the discussions to understand and learn more.
