Best Mobile Phone Provider

Who do you think is the best mobile phone provider in the UK?
I have never been with anybody else than T-Mobile (or previoulsy one-to-one).
I value their free voice mail.
I am looking for a new contract and I do not really mind who the provider is. They just need to be good.
It happened to me quite often that I had bad reception in some building where other people always had reception. Does this only have to do with the network or also with the phone?
Which in your opinion has the best coverage AND free voice mail if possible? Or which provider shall I avoid?
Thanks

Thanks very much for all the comments from everyone. Have you seen this though:

OneCompare.com regularly reviews the major UK networks customer service level on order to report the results to the public so that they can make an informed decision when selecting a mobile phone network. Just click on the tabs below to see the Customer Service Ratings from the selected year.
2005/2006
2006/2007
2006/2007 Customer Service Rating Report
O2 customers suffer by getting wrong price information in four out of ten cases
Major mobile networks are giving customers wrong information on call costs leading to higher bills
49% of consumers unaware it costs them to receive calls abroad
An independent assessment of mobile phone companies’ customer service staff has shown many unable to answer basic questions meaning mobile users are incurring needless costs and increasing frustration. The annual mobile phone network customer service report by independent online comparison service OneCompare.com used a mystery shopping exercise to ask questions about peak / off peak rates and international roaming costs across the six major providers. Many staff were unable to give correct information meaning customers would incur unnecessary costs or were subject to bad phone manner.
The mobile company with the least knowledgeable staff were O2 (35%) followed by Vodafone (20%) and Orange (15.4%). O2 was particularly startling as it boasts about service standards in its exclusively British call centres, sliding further down the table from last year’s survey. In fact, O2 staff were unable to provide correct answers or solutions to over a third of the questions asked. O2 and Virgin scored particularly poorly on the international roaming rates question with O2 answering almost four in ten questions (39%) incorrectly and Virgin answering over three in ten(35%) incorrectly.
Anthony Ball, Director of OneCompare.com comments: “It is not surprising that O2 have performed so poorly this year – with the disloyal service they provided their existing customers. In June last year, with little warning, they withdrew up to 50,000 mobile phone models which were still being used by consumers telling them if they wanted to keep making and receiving calls they would have to purchase a newer model. Furthermore, they have not actively promoted cheaper international roaming deals such as My Europe. This is a package that customers have to opt-in to receive cheaper calls, but how can they if they are not being told about them.”
Ball continues; “17.5 million unhappy mobile phone users is a worrying number which needs be addressed. Customer acquisition continues to take priority but mobile companies, even the ones that have come out top in our report, have neglected the basics and dismissed the importance of good customer services. Customer service staff should be the ambassadors for their networks and should be fully equipped to help customers understand the basics such as the cost of a call at an off - peak time or the cost of overseas call charges. We will continue to strive for better service for the consumer and plans for the mobile industry to use this customer service rating as a benchmark will help to achieve this.”
“The report simply highlights the inadequacies of most mobile phone networks across all investigated areas. Hopefully the standard will only get better across the board which in turn will benefit the consumer. We welcome mobile phone providers who would like to work with us in obtaining a common ground in the customer service arena.”
Comprehensive details of the report are available by contacting Onecompare.com direct.

  • Whats the best mobile phone for syncing to macbook?

I am about to buy a mobile phone and i want to know which one is the best, for ease of connection?

Personally, I would recommend any of the later Sony Ericsson models. Either the K800 or K610 (supported in iSync 2.4), or any of the additional models supported by iSync Phone Plugins from here.
You can see what data is synced on the page linked above. You can also use them with the Mac Address Book for SMS and Calls.

  • Best mobile phone to give users? Windows\Android\iOS

There's a bit of debate between Windows phones, Apple and Android phones. We usually have been giving users Galaxy S5 mini's or iPhones, but one of our IT staff loves Windows phones and has been wanting more of them rolled out. Most of the users totally hate the Windows GUI on the phone and can't stand them.
In saying that what kinds of phones does everyone find works best? I think Apple iPhones are overpriced in my opinion and a cheaper Android alternative works fine.

I work in a non profit and my role is basically anything from servers to desktop support in a semi call centre environment. There are 100 odd staff and desktop computers and I am the only person in this state. The other states have an equivalent of my role but we don’t work as a team very often but do share some resources. I like my job and they treat me well (management). I’m trusted and have a lot of freedom and conditions that I wouldn’t get in any other job. However I am finding myself becoming increasing annoyed and worn out by the desktop side of my role. To a point where I am withdrawing and find ways to avoid certain people. I walk down the corridor and spot a staff member walking toward me and dread they will stop me. If I am lucky I can take another turn before they see me.Most staff refuse to use the helpdesk and interrupt...

  • No WiFi when Mobile phone Network down

My home WiFi - BT Infinity, works fine when I have a mobile phone signal but should I have a very poor signal or none then I am unable to log on to WiFi. In other words when I need it the most it doesn't work. For example I am with 3 and this morning the 3 Network in my area went down, no problem I thought and switched on my 3 App which allows calls and texts via my WiFi connection. It wouldn't connect to my WiFi due to me having no mobile phone network? The same thing happened a few months ago when I was on Vodafone and had a poor signal. I was in a local cafe and so asked for their password and tried to logon to their WiFi: it took about 10 attempts due to the "quality of the internet connection"?
Is this anything to do with BT or is it my Samsung Galaxy S3?  I can't see it being the mobile phone provider as it has happened with 2 different ones.
    Many thanks

Your home wireless connection has nothing to do with a mobile phone signal or the 3 Network.
Your home BT Infinity wireless connection should show up on your phone wireless connections as something similar to BTHomehub5-xxxx and to connect to it you need to use the wireless passkey that is on the label on the Homehub.
If you are using an app to try and connect to your wireless connection it may be that you have a problem with either the app or the phone or you are not using/connecting them correctly.
Have a look at this link how to conect your phone to your BTHomehub

There is no such plugin for any Android browser. I doubt Microsoft will ever make one. The best chance you have is if the site provides a direct link to the file and you download it. You then might be able to play the file with one of the media players on the phone.

  • Re: Price matching policy for mobile phones sold with a contract

Today I called my local store and they said they will not price match a contract price on a mobile phone.  When I look online, the contract price had a price guarantee.

    Hello ziyulu,
Cell phones have almost become a necessity in today’s world, so I’m all for getting one at the best price possible. It sounds like there was some confusion regarding our Price Match Guarantee (PMG) for the contract phone you were considering, and I’m sorry for any misinformation our store associates may have provided you.
While it’s true you may price match a contract phone, we are unable to accept price matches from any online competitor in accordance with our PMG. This means any price match request must be from a retail competitor who has a store location within 25 miles of your local Best Buy.
What particular phone are you looking to purchase? Are you attempting to price match a local competitor?
I hope to hear from you soon,

  • Cisco 3905 failed but outgoing call still ringing on mobile phone

    Dear all,
We setup Cisco Call Manager 10 with Cisco Voice gateway 2911 ( E1 port) and 3905. All outgoing call & incoming call are ok. But we meet a small issue as below:
-Using 3905 do outgoing call to mobile number. Mobile number ringing.
-3905 failed without power but the call still ringing on mobile phone.
    Anyway to fix that ?
    Thank you & regards,
    ThànhNT

    Hello,
    So, your config looks good.
Pelase, can you explain what you mean when you say:
"-3905 failed without power but the call still ringing on mobile phone."
You can try a "debug isdn q931" on your gateway and see if the disconnect is ok. Use the documentation bellow to understand the debug:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/12_2/debug/command/reference/122debug/dbfipx.html#wp1018126
If the disconnection is good, you will need to understand your call flow.
Phone -> CUCM -> Gateway -> PSTN -> Called Party
The final disconnection point is provided by your telco, and it can send the disconnect late.
Please, let me know the result of the debug.
    best regards.

  • Mobile Phone Web Browsing - Automated Authentication.

Our company currently provides subscription data content to our customers which they access via mobile web services on their mobile phones. Instead of requiring our customers to enter a user name and password to access our secure website, we would like to automate the subscribers authentication to our website with an automated authentication technology.
Is anyone familiar with any tools available to support authentication technologies (i.e.; digital certificates) that are supported by (recent at best) versions of mobile phones?

I have tried your suggestion with both Firefox beta and opera bowser. Same issue. Works perfectly in chrome, but I would prefer to use Firefox browser. Thanks for your suggestion. I have also removed all cookies in every browser. Any other suggestions would be gratefully received.

  • Getting contacts from mobile phone onto iPhone

What is the best way to get my contacts from my mobile phone on to my iPhone. I assume I need to push my contacts from my mobile to my mac address book and then sync the iPhone - what steps must I take to achieve this [mainly in reference to pushing my current mobile phone contacts to my mac]?
    Thanks in advance.

It doesn't look like any LG phones are supported.

Check with your cellular provider - the provider you are using with your unlocked iPhone for a method to export the contacts from your LG phone in a format that can be imported by Apple's Address Book.

  • How Can I send SMS to a Mobile Phone within Oracle

How Can I send SMS to a Mobile Phone within Oracle

It depends on how you are planning to use this feature.
You can set up a mobile using special software in order to interface to it programatically - you can then, via this software interface, use this mobile to send SMS's.
Some service providers support an e-mail interface. Where you send the SMS as a the e-mail content and the mobile number as the recipient's address, or as the subject of the e-mail. However, many service providers have long since stopped providing this type of mail interface due to abuse. Remember that service providers are there to make money - not offer one a service via bulk SMS's can be send.
Some service providers have dial-up servers that works like the old style bulletin board systems (BBS's) of the 90's. You use a telnet like interface, dial into this BBS, and is prompted for mobile number, message to deliver, and even delivery confirmation. You can expect the cost of this phone call to this system, to also cover the cost of sending the SMS.
Some companies provide a software server to interface with one or more service providers - this allows you to fairly easily use this server gateway to send SMS's for you. Such a gateway server will typically support a telnet interface - allowing you to send SMS's via it from inside PL/SQL.
I've used all these options, and I've found the best one to be the last option. It is the easiest to use from a programming perspective. It comes with various management and reporting tools. So you need to do the very minimal in managing this whole SMS interface.

  • Print from mobile phone

How can i print from my smart phone.  App already installed and computer is on

    Hi atubens,
Depending on what mobile phone and what printer you have, the solution could differ.
If you have an ePrint capable printer, universally you could email a print job to the printer's ePrint address.
If you have the HP ePrint Home and Biz app, you can print photos, documents and from the web over the local wireless network from within the mobile app.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.
